One of our garage doors stopped working on a Sunday morning. The chain was hanging down low and when I went up to take a look, I could see that the sprocket had sheared right off the motor.
I called a few local companies and left voicemails to hopefully get the problem fixed the following week -- Steve from Lowell Overhead Door called me back that same evening and set up an estimate for the following morning (Monday).
I had received quotes from other contractors, but Steve was the only one who was willing to come out and take a look at the openers and the doors to see what else, if anything, needed to be fixed. The other contractors wouldn't come out without charging a service fee.
Steve and his son, Justin, came by as promised and evaluated my garage doors. We talked through a few different opener options for replacement (which had been recommended by other contractors as well), and ultimately settled on replacing both openers and replacing the door rollers.
They agreed to come back the next day to do the work, and they did so -- both Steve and Justin came back and they did a great job. They removed all the old wiring, cleaned up the garage after they were done, and even helped me program my vehicles.
The total cost for the job was several hundred dollars less than what other contractors were bidding (for the exact same scope of work and exact same openers), and I felt like I was in good hands the whole time. I'd gladly trust them for any future garage door work, and have already recommended them to neighbors and friends. read more
