My daughter found her gorgeous dress here but what we all loved were the sleeves! My two complaints however are1) are that there is no one there who can really advise about how a dress should fit and what to look for when there are alterations. No alterations are done at the store so you have to pick up your dress and cart it around to find a seamstress. Also when I went to order the sleeves I had to pay twice as much for them because they're coming from New Zealand. Jordan was my stylist and she was so sweet and helpful throughout the entire appointment. I had been feeling discouraged and stressed from the whole wedding dress search process, as it had been difficult to find a dress I truly felt good and comfortable in. Jordan took the time to genuinely listen. She first asked about my journey so far and what I was hoping to get out of the appointment. I shared some general thoughts on what I'd liked from previous tries, and she did a wonderful job pulling a variety of styles that aligned with my preferences. It was clear she kept everything I said in mind with each dress she brought out. She also made a thoughtful effort to stay close to my budget. I came in with low expectations, knowing many of the dresses I had seen online were priced higher than what I was hoping to spend. But I could tell she was doing her best to be mindful of both my financial and stylistic needs. There were a few moments between rounds of fittings where my friends and I were waiting and I felt like the momentum dipped a bit. At the time I wished things moved along more smoothly, but in hindsight a little rest between rounds wasn't so bad. Cannot say enough good things about this place! This was my first dress shop and was the last one. I worked with one of the stylists Jess who was AMAZING! She listened to everything I had to say and in the end was able to help me pick out my dream dress. I never felt rushed or like I had to pick if I wasn't sure about the dress. All the dress were so beautiful and I wish I could have taken them all but I am beyond happy with my choice. Because I bought a dress with Lovely my veil was 10% off, which was an added bonus. This is a review for mostly Heather at LB NYC. I do recommend making an account and picking out the dresses you like as they have there whole inventory online for this location. There's a $25 or $50 fee for an appointment with a free follow up appt. First off, this was where I started my dress search and I wish it could have ended here but budgeting for a wedding is kinda the worst. I had actually been to this salon with my best friend years ago and Heather was also our stylist then. Just fate to get her again and I must say she is fantastic. She's very genuine and interested in you as a bride rather than just the sale. She's great at bringing out recs and asking permission before bringing something out of your budget if she thinks it fits what you're looking for. And she's so frickin patient-I think I tried 7 or 8 dresses. I did find a GORGEOUS dress (if you're a boho bride or looking for something non traditional check out Rue de Seine which LB carries) but it was just way more than I'm willing to pay with alterations and whatnot. I knowingly tried it anyways. I worked with Jordan who was the brand ambassador for the designer I was most interested in and she was the sweetest, most genuine person I've ever met! From start to finish I felt comfortable working with her and having her help me into each dress. All of the dress I tried on were the dress I "loved" in my portal which made the appointment feel much less overwhelming and flow so smoothly! I didn't feel rushed and Jordan gave her best recommendations and details regarding alterations, customizations, etc. I truly felt like a princess! I was not pushed into a dress outside my budget and genuinely loved my experience with it with Lovely and Jordan! They even took photos of my measurement to ensure accuracy! I want to preface this review by saying I emailed Lovely Bride this feedback privately and they didn't have the decency to even respond, so I am taking this publicly so others are aware: When I arrived with my party, we were cramped in the shop's very small waiting area where there were at least three other bridal parties. There was very little room and it was uncomfortable and overwhelming. My associate was nice, but she was running a few minutes behind, which ate into my allotted time and into the remainder of my day. We had lunch scheduled following, and then another appointment elsewhere, so I ultimately felt very rushed to remain on time while getting the most out of my experience - which I did not. Over the course of the 1.5 hours, I believe I tried on only 3 gowns. They were very poorly kept - extreme wrinkles, rips, and they were too small to even get on despite communicating my size (6) to Lovely Bride in advance of my appointment. The gowns were not pulled in advance of my arrival despite me thoughtfully filling out a wishlist ahead of time, which again, ate into my appointment. They were not what I was expecting and I didn't receive much help or guidance from my associate. Again, she was very nice and I believe she was trying her best, but I needed someone to be knowledgeable and helpful about pulling gowns based on my feedback, likes and dislikes about what I was trying on. That was not the case. The private area was very small and difficult for me to maneuver in these gowns, and if I wanted to try them on with veils, I had to wait until the other brides were not using the pedestals for me to take my turn. It was very inefficient, impersonal and disappointing. Ultimately I did not choose a dress from Lovely Bride and had an extremely wonderful experience at my second appointment, a different boutique where I chose my dress, which was so eye opening. read more

This is my first ever yelp, I had to do a review because I had the most wonderful experience at Lovely Bride. Initially I just went for fun with my best girlfriend and ended up finding THE most beautiful dress that day. Every person working there was so nice and welcoming. Jess especially, she helped me find my dress and she couldn't have been any nicer and knowledgeable. I was a bit intimidated going into it and she made me feel at ease right away. Her warm demeanor and fun spirited vibe made the whole experience so easy. I ended up coming back with my mom, mother in law and sister, to say yes to the dress and that whole experience was even better. The show room in the back is the best part, you really get that bridal moment. I just picked up my dress today and was so glad I got to see Jess again to thank her. Jess found The One for me. I felt seen and heard and she tuned in to my desires incredibly well. The One was not something I had seen online as it was new in the store. She listened to her intuition and brought it in for me to try on. When I saw it, I was curious about it because I hadn't previously tried on or been looking at anything like it. I had an incredible experience at Lovely during my appointment in late January. I had pretty vague direction on what I was looking for, but my stylist, McKenah, was able to brilliantly take pieces from my feedback on each dress to put something together that checked all of the boxes. She asked me to trust her vision of pairing a more simple dress with a detailed overlay to create something entirely unique that felt custom and spoke to to all of the different things i wanted, and I'm so glad I did! I can't wait for my dress to ship later this year and see it all come to life. As a plus size bride, I was incredibly nervous about the process of finding my dream dress and I can't believe how simple and seamless it ended up being. I also love that the salon is set up in a way that allows you to dress yourself for the most part behind a curtain before being clipped in by the stylist. I found it much more comfortable than other studios I've tried where I had to fully strip in front of the stylist. Not thrilled with my experience at Lovely Bride. The staff was lovely and so were the dresses, and the woman who helped me was great at working with my tight timeline (~5 months). However, there was a complete lack of followup, which is particularly disappointing given that I was working on a tight deadline--and they knew it, because they didn't stop mentioning it during the appointment. By the end of my appointment, we had settled on two dresses but I was told they needed to get approval from the designer regarding a rush shipment. I asked if they would send me the cost breakdown for both dresses (cost of the dress plus rush shipping and other fees for the timeline) and they said they would email me after my appointment. I never received that email. I followed up a few days later, and still didn't hear back. About two weeks later I was sent a text asking if I was still interested in those dresses, and responded that I had never heard back from their team. More silence. Days later I followed up and I was told that one of the dresses was not available, and that they would followup about the second option. It's been more than a month and I still haven't heard back, but decided a while ago not to work with this store because they don't seem reliable. It's a shame, because they have a lovely selection of dresses. read more

Unfortunately this bridal experience is entirely dependent on your stylist - and mine was horrible. I had hearted dresses on my online profile before arriving, which she had ready in the room. But she asked so many questions before I could even get a dress on my body - how are you feeling looking at these? What are you thinking right now? Are you 50/50 on any? If you're less then 50, do you want to skip it? I originally requested dresses with arm coverage to cover a scar I have, she suggested adding sleeves to sleeveless dresses. However she brought me sleeves that weren't permissible to be purchased with a dress she said I should wear them with because of the designer's rules. And then suggested I have a tailor make sleeves, but they don't even have a tailor on site so how could I possibly consider purchasing a dress there without consulting with a tailor to find out the feasibility of altering. Worse of all, they have all the dresses on display in the front room, and since I was feeling like I still hadn't seen anything I loved, I wanted to browse. My stylist told me I could "only touch the hanger" if I wants to browse the dresses, so my mom and sister started looking around. Another stylist came running out, yelling - you can't touch these! We work very hard to keep this tool looking perfect! And I said, um, my stylist just told me I could browse as long as only moving them by their hangers. And then my stylist came behind, and said, actually, we really need to keep the dresses as they are ok the racks. So they, in so many words, kicked us out. Go to Kleinfelds or Wedding Atelier - don't waste your time here. read more

I had the best experience working with Jess! First of all, the store is incredible. By far the prettiest and most welcoming of all of my bridal appointments. Jess took us to our own private space where I could get changed behind a curtain and my mom, sister, and mother in law could sit while waiting outside of the curtain. Jess already had all of the dresses I wanted to try on ready for me. Once you book the appointment they give you a personal portal to add your favorite dresses to so they could be prepared the day of. This was super convenient. Jess was so lovely to work with, she completely understood my vision and knew the selection well. We set up a second appointment because the dress I really wanted to try on was coming in later. I went back in to try it on, adored it and bought it! Jess also made sure I got the best price I could. I couldn't recommend Lovely Bride and Jess more. The store is gorgeous, and I really like the set up/the way the store has private sectioned off rooms for the bride to be & her party. They have an impressive selection of dresses. Lovely Bride has a streamlined process - I love that I was able to view their inventory online and pick which dresses I wanted to try on prior to entering the store. My stylist, Najah, was fantastic. She was instrumental in me choosing my dress - she carefully listened to what I liked or disliked about each dress I tried on, and then brought along other beautiful gowns based on what I said. She was great at asking questions ("what do you like about this one? what don't you like about this one?"), and I feel really grateful she ended up as my stylist. I don't believe the dress I ultimately chose was one I had picked out online for myself so really commend Najah in helping me find it and bringing it to my attention. The hour sped by, and I wish I had ten more minutes but understand that the store is busy (it was packed on a Saturday). Went in over the weekend on the search for my wedding dress and said yes to a gorgeous gown and veil! My stylist Kelsey was seriously the BEST! Appointment started on time, she was so attentive and sweet. Originally before my appt lovely portal asks you to select your top 10 gowns you'd like to try on, Kelsey pulled two of these to start and would only keep two gowns in the room at a time. I found this to be extremely helpful in narrowing down what I liked/didn't like without feeling overwhelmed. After the third dress, I tried on one more but knew the third dress was it! She took us to the atrium room and selected a gorgeous veil that went perfectly with my dress. She stepped aside and let me and my crew have our moment. I was on a girls trip from Oslo to NYC and spontaneously decided to book (my first) wedding dress appointment, and Haley made it the best experience ever. I ultimately ended up purchasing my dress at a different store but I had a great experience at Lovely Bride! Gabby was my bridal consultant and she was wonderful. She listened to my preferences and chose styles that fit my guidelines. I never felt pressured to say yes to a gown I didn't love, and she let me go back and try on my favorite gown several times, clipped it all different ways, and helped take photos. She was so great!
