During each appointment I was never treated as just a patient. I was always made to feel like I was part of the treatment plan and that Dr. Bawden and Malayza had my best interest in mind when they carried out each procedure. After each procedure they made sure I was happy and that I was not in pain and that thing felt great. Any follow up that I needed I was able to get in the very next day. I was never treated like an imposition and they truly cared and resolved the situation right away. The entire staff at Superstition Mountain Dental are great and I would recommend them to all that are in need of great dental and personal care.

He treats you like you are the only patient he has. DR. Grams was gentle, knowledgeable and engaging. Not upselling services or pushy in anyway. I absolutely love the feeling of the office, immaculate, with such personality. I could tell the Doc was a music and sports lover. It had a warmth I've never experienced before in a dental office. The form asks you to consent to sharing your "protected" health info with their "business associates" without explaining the details as HIPPA requires. The form does say "refer to our notice before signing the consent", but I saw no notice. The receptionist repeatedly said I would have to sign one wherever I went ... in my experience patients are allowed to limit what is shared, without being refused service. She said they likely wouldn't treat me if I didn't sign it, but she could ask. I felt pressured and unwelcome. So I left with the forms. Others may have a better experience.

That first impression honestly made me want to move forward with them. Scheduling was smooth, and they were generally good about getting me in around my appointment time during the earlier visits. However, things started to fall apart when it came to pricing transparency. I went in for permanent implants (I already have existing dentures), and after my initial consultation, I was quoted around $51,000, which was nearly $20,000 higher than other places I had visited. Because of that, I decided not to move forward at first. Afterward, I received multiple calls and texts from their office, and we eventually negotiated a price. We verbally agreed, and they confirmed via text to a flat $32,000, and this included anesthesia. That number was in line with other quotes I had received, so I felt comfortable moving forward and scheduled a follow-up appointment to finalize everything, sign the contract, and make a payment. This is where my experience took a turn. I waited about 20 minutes past my appointment time, and while they did eventually acknowledge the delay, it wasn't until I had already been waiting for a while. During the contract process, they increased the anesthesia cost by an additional $3,500, even though anesthesia had already been included in the agreed-upon $32,000 total. After some back-and-forth, I reluctantly agreed to a revised total of $35,500 just to move things forward. Then things became even more concerning. The billing assistant left the room multiple times and came back with yet another change, an additional $2,500 for a zirconia upgrade. This was especially frustrating because zirconia was the only option we had discussed from the beginning and was part of the original plan. It appeared to have been removed from the revised contract, only to be added back in as an upcharge. At that point, the total had climbed about $6,000 above what we had already agreed upon verbally and via text. That lack of consistency and transparency didn't sit right with me, and I ultimately decided to walk away without moving forward. Overall, the staff was kind and the office made a great first impression, but the repeated pricing changes and lack of clear, consistent communication during the contracting process were too concerning for me to ignore.

I guess not if you have the start of periodontal disease. SAVING EVERYONE $$$ & TIME!! DO NOT GO FOR BASIC CLEANING UNLESS YOU HAVE VERY HEALTHY TEETH. No inflammation and must be 1,2,3 in healthy range. Crazy they don't list this on their website but it must be because they want to charge everyone who doesn't know!!! Edit: Thank you for your response, but it does not address the main issue. The $129 new patient visit is presented as a cleaning appointment, but the cleaning is NOT guaranteed. It includes an exam and X-rays with a CONDITIONAL cleaning that depends on findings only determined after the patient arrives and pays. If periodontal disease is identified, the advertised cleaning is not provided even though the patient booked and paid under the expectation of receiving that service. The phrase healthy teeth is vague and not a meaningful screening standard. A clearer approach would be to directly ask whether a patient has ever been diagnosed with periodontal disease or been told by a dentist that they require deep cleaning or scaling and root planing before booking. In my case I already had that diagnosis, and I would not have scheduled the appointment if that had been CLEARLY asked or explained. I scheduled specifically for a cleaning, completed the exam, and was then told the cleaning would not be performed while still being charged the full fee. The issue is not clinical judgment but that the service being advertised does not clearly match what patients actually receive or under what conditions the cleaning will be denied.

Deanna gave me a thorough deep cleaning which had to be done in three appointments however they were done quickly. Finally I had a same day crown. Dr Wettstein was very gentle and I appreciated his great bedside manner. Going to the dentist you never know but I am definitely recommending Affinity dental. They are very organized and super friendly.
