delicious poboys: oyster, catfish, shrimp and muffaletta sandwiches all worth the trip!

We paid $13.99 for the chicken tender platter, which according to the menu was supposed to include a side of mac and cheese or fries, along with a salad. I specifically chose the mac and cheese as my side, but it was not included. Instead, we received only a few small pieces of chicken and a handful of wilted lettuce. None of the other items listed with the meal were included. We also ordered the chicken tender kids meal, which was supposed to come with a side, but no side was included with that order either. For the price, the portions were extremely small and did not match what was advertised. We ended up having to make an extra trip to the store to buy additional food because the meals were not enough. Food is salty. Paid $37 for 2 plates. Eggplant was salty. Mac n cheese no flavor. Presentation bad. I would not go back.

I wanted something quick but not fast food, so I googled restaurants near me. This came up but the location is now in st rose. The reviews were good as far as the good but the service not so much. It was steak night so I went with the ribeye. You have a choice of sausage potato Gratin or corn and crab bisque with green beans or salad. I got the bisque and green beans. Everything was delicious. Freshly Sautéed green beans. Steak med! Bisque very flavorful. I would go back. I would get to go bc the space is pretty small. read more

This place is phenomenal!! Wonderful food, daily specials and catering! They have been in business for decades, but just moved to St Rose, LA and we are excited! Homemade red gravy for lasagna and spaghetti & meatballs not anything out of the jar (TRUE ITALIAN) I can go on and on about this little place on St Rose Ave, but you need to try it! Fridays during lent and probably future Fridays it will be seafood, but during lent they have a seafood muffaletta! Holy Moses, FABULOUS!!!!!!!! They have one of the BEST Greek salads I have ever eaten and no they aren't Greek but have the salad and I could have licked the plate because the dressing (homemade) was to die for! There is nothing that is NOT good at Lovechicco's Deli! Their desserts are not on the menu, but you should ask. It is clean, they have a bar you can sit at the television and they have a few tables. The place is small and people were coming in and out constantly with to go orders. We spoke with the staff, the entire time that we were there. Very hospitable, gracious and outright friendly. we will be back several times, at least once a week we will eat at this fabulous little deli! Great little lunch spot in an area with limited choices. I had never heard of Lovecchio's until they moved to Norco, but everyone I talked to who knew them in Lakeview raves about how good it was and tells me they have the same menu. So, if you knew them then, you'll like them now, too. Great po-boys on Liedenheimer bread (good crusty New Orleans french bread). Every variety I've had here is good, and they've got a huge variety. The shrimp is better than most - no popcorn shrimp here. The meatball, Regency, and roast beef po-boys are all "ten napkin" affairs. You might even need a bib. Very good and very juicy. There are also good, hefty plate lunches every day (lasagna, chicken parm - good home style meals) and salads and wraps if you want to pretend to eat healthy. Hot, fresh, crispy fries and waffle cut sweet potato fries. Bottled soda (i.e. no free refills - but you were trying to cut back on soda anyway, right?). If you're really thirsty, the tea is a better choice. Parking is very limited. You can park at the abandoned bank building across the street (be careful crossing the street), but do NOT park at the sketchy sandwich shop over there (you might get towed). Call ahead if you are in a hurry. Service is not slow, but it gets busy in this place. Seating is also a bit limited, but you can get it to-go, too. It's worth it. read more

They have a killer chicken ceaser salad. The staff lady was very sweet. And pretty too ! Haha. Loved my first visit there!

It's alright food, good for a lunch but not much else, in my opinion. It feels like their souls aren't exactly homemade, and you could get better sandwiches/poboys elsewhere. I pass it up mostly every day and I have no desire to try it again. read more

The food is delicious! We have ordered 2 fairly large takeout orders which were ready at the scheduled pickup time. We love supporting our local businesses but this will be the last time we visit Lovecchino's! The owner is rude! The order was placed 24 hours in advance, if there was an issue with the size of the order nothing was conveyed at that time or at the time one of the staff called to confirm the order. We will gladly take our business elsewhere!!!! read more

After being a local at the Lovecchio's at its old location pre Katrina i am glad to have found them at their new Norco location. The roastbeef poboy was just like i remembered. Mouth watering & delish. It is my ABSOLUTE favorite. Fridays crab cake special are the best I have ever tasted and the homemade baked macaroni is...shh, better than my mom's :) They have all their previous menu items pre Katrina with a few new ones i can't wait to try! read more

What a joke. Ordered a shrimp poboy today. The shrimp aren't seasoned. They're undercooked. The breading is a very light brown color. They have no flavor whatsoever. The only thing I can taste when I bite into this poboy are the pickles and the bread. That's it. My first and last time ordering from here. read more

Best poboys around Norco that I've had! Their veal parm poboy is definetly the best veal parm I've ever had. Huge thick cut of veal and not the normal cutlets. Their Mac and cheese is way above average for a poboy shop. It's not too greasy or hap hazardly thrown together like a famous place in Chalmette. On Fridays their special is crab cakes and eggplant with shrimp. It's obnoxiously good. Red beans are average. Portions are appropriately sized. Price is too cheap for the high quality they are putting out. I always do take out but they got some tables and chairs to sit in. Owners are very nice and take pride in their food. They use only lindenheimer bread (for better or worse. I prefer Binders, Gendusa (sp?), or dong phong). Don't think twice about it. Just go. Order a veal parm. And thank me later. read more

mixed thoughts here. Little local place not much competition but it's close to home and is the only sit down restaurant in town so I had to at least try it out. Shrimp po boy was just ok in my opinion. prices were fair. service was quick and super friendly. Kiddo had a roast beef po boy which was the thick sliced sandwich meat kind not the shredded soaked in gravy kind I love but she LOVED it. She ate over half of a whole po boy which is a lot for a preschooler who never eats her food. She proclaims this as her new favorite place to eat so I guess I will have to find something I like! read more

I've eaten here quite a few times. The service is pretty good, not great, and the food is great. The potato salad is a must have. Love the roast beef poboys I'm glad to have them in my part of the world. read more

Open for lunch with two or three specials, most of which are good to very good. N'Awlins style poboys that demonstrate their Lakeview heritage and friendly, family oriented staff make this a welcome spot out here where choices are few. read more

I used to go to Lovecchio's near my grandparents' house in Lakeview before 10ft of water moved them to Norco. They have a picture of the old place flooded hanging on the wall. Just went for for the first time in a almost a decade, and it's the same people with the same killer meatball poboy! I gave the lady behind the counter a hug. Worth the trip. So good. Good food, lousy customer service! Well every time I go here, the sandwiches are really good. They have excellent po-boys, deli sandwiches, and fantastic tomato basil soup! But each time I go and ask for a grilled/hot ham and cheddar sandwich, I get attitude as if this is really hard to make! Hello, it's just a hot ham and cheese sandwich with the cheese melted! You do philly cheese steak and other hot sandwiches on the grill, so what is the big difference? The point is, it's not hard at all, and certainly not deserving of the grumpy face I usually get. Well today she really shocked me. I asked for my usual preparation of the sandwich I normally get, (hot ham and cheese, melted, with only mayo, mustard, and tomato) and the owner/waitress/cook (not sure which she really was) started acting confused like I was asking for a grilled cheese sandwich which I wasn't. Then she got aggravated about the condiments and how I wanted it dressed (as if having it dressed ANY way different from fully dressed took some act of Congress to accomplish.) She said, oh, I can't write all that down. What is so difficult? Hot ham and cheddar cheese, only mayo, mustard, and tomato. Wow, that was soooooo hard. I told her she could make it on a half a po-boy if that was easier for her. She said they don't serve half po-boys. (Why on earth not, I have no idea, but that's another story for another time!) So I CLEARLY told her to go ahead and make it on a whole po-boy, and that way I could have leftovers for later. This is what we had decided on! What I received was not a po-boy. It was on regular toasted bread (the way I had wanted it in the first place, but clearly not what we decided on in the end). When I got the order and brought it back up to the counter to ask whether or not I was charged for a po-boy and only received a sandwich size instead, she proceeded to tell me it was the same amount of meat that would've been on the po-boy (which I do not believe), and she charged me the same as she would've for a po-boy because you get charged by the meat, not the bread. At that point, I wasn't going to argue further because I was hungry. You should've seen the face though - attitude all over it.....just because I asked a question. She looks bored and irritated most of the time. It's too bad the customer service is lacking, and the lady does not even act like she wants to be there. It is as if it's truly a chore for her. I truly don't believe people like that should own or work in the customer service business. If she would've just slowed down and cared to try to understand what I, the customer, wanted, things would've went so much more smoothly. Disappointing, but nevertheless, tasty lunch! read more
