Lovebird is an adorable little tapas restaurant and one of my favorite restaurants on rue Biot. It's got a very cozy atmosphere and they make great use of the space they've got. Given that it's a small restaurant, I highly recommend making a reservation if possible (card required and no-show penalties apply).
The tapas menu changes fairly often, although there is always bellota, my favorite offering. They have a cheese plate that varies based on what they bring in. Over the course of a few visits, their " dip of the moment " has ranged from tzatziki to beetroot. In the past, some of the tapas I've really enjoyed include beef tataki (perfectly rare and very tender), pad thaï (bursting with flavor), and a pesto-infused Gouda that was part of the cheese plate. The desserts also rotate, and they do great tarts. I especially loved the lime tart, which was fresh, light in texture, and silky smooth. Their chocolate tart was similarly smooth and delicious, with a touch of salt sprinkled on for a nice contrast. I have also seen crème brûlée and apple tart on the menu on some nights.
I would recommend getting 2 tapas plates per person. The prices are not cheap, but reasonable given the quality and typical city prices; 4 tapas plates and a dessert would run you about 50€, with drinks being more. If you like a good cocktail, Lovebird has an extensive menu based on astrological signs. The balance / libra cocktail is a favorite among my friends. For teetotalers they offer 2 mocktails, my favorite of which is the orange blossom one. The staff are friendly and the service is attentive & efficient.
This restaurant is truly a gem in the neighborhood. I've been several times and never been disappointed! The restaurant is located a short walk from the Place de Clichy metro station (lines 2 & 13). read more
