I went once randomly for a lash lift with Marie, and since have been back 3 times and have 3 future appointments already scheduled. 1- From Marie, I have had a lash lift, brows shaped, and a facial. All 3 services were A+++++ I will never go back to extensions, and my face has never felt better. 2- I recently had a hair cut and toner with Jordyn, and could not be more in love with both. My hair was long, stringy, and damaged. Jordyn brought it back to life. I receive multiple compliments each day! Minus the obvious, in regards to the services being fabulous and executed so perfectly, the salon is very welcoming, friendly, and treats you like a friend more than a transaction. Being a hijabi it's really difficult getting an appointment for haircut when there is not other male at the salon. I called the salon a day before and they really helped me out by finding a time that would work out with my restrictions. I booked my appointment with Lindsey and she was amazing! Booked an appointment with Lindsey this past weekend for a partial highlight to help blend my roots a bit better. I've been to just about every salon in Austin at this point (and have been to countless upscale salons in the Northeast) and this was one of the best experiences. Lindsey was so beyond sweet and professional, really talked with me about what I was looking to accomplish and made recommendations where it made sense. Ended up getting a haircut and A+ blow out/styling on top of it, and left feeling fabulous. I decided i wanted to come back a few days later to have a few more babylights added in, and she fit me in no problem and spent 2 hours making sure my hair was perfect, including blowing it out and styling it again without trying to charge anything additional. She got almost all of the brassiness/warm tones out of my blonde to get me to a gorgeous creamy natural shade, and really blended my roots to perfection. I've made appointments here three times now and I don't plan on going anywhere else any time soon. Every four weeks I come here, knowing I'll get treated like a friend and leave looking like a million bucks. First, brows. Marie is an absolute legend. When I first came in, I had botched my own brows trying to wax them at home (I know, I know.) She fixed them up despite me missing big patches in them using some kind of advanced witchcraft. Don't ask me how. She favors the natural but polished look, and consistently takes her time to make my brows look kissed by a god. No rushed jobs here. Plus, I didn't know it was possible for eyebrow service not to be painful before I booked with her! She is gentle, uses high-quality products, and my sensitive skin doesn't break out after seeing her. I cannot recommend her enough. Secondly, hair. I usually see Lindsey. She is wonderful, quick yet precise, and very friendly. She takes the extra time to style my hair with these adorable beach waves, gives me tips for maintenance, and I'm in love with my hair every time I leave. I recently booked with Jordyn as well, and she also completely killed it. I'm just as happy with my cut and my experience. She was able to maintain the same cut and style I like, took length off without making it too short, and created volume in my hair that wasn't there before. Both of these ladies are seriously skilled with some scissors. The thing I appreciate the most about Love+Roots, aside from the skill and professionalism with which these stylists approach beauty, is how comfortable I feel here. I often experience a bit of anxiety with people being close to me and touching me. Some salons have been difficult for me due to this, but not here. I had never been here before, booked an all over color + hair cut on the website 1.5 weeks prior to the actual appointment date. The appointment was with Michelle. When Michelle asked what i was in for, I stated the exact verbiage as my online appointment listed. Thinking I would obviously be booked for the appropriate time slot for selecting the correct items. Michelle was very unpleasant from the get go, her demeanor and facial expressions in the mirror were extremely rude and off putting. Upon looking at my hair she said it would be a color correction and she didn't have the time for it. If the intention was to go darker to cover the entire hair, how would this not be " all over color". Michelle said an all over color would be a root touch up. Which are two separate selections online. This stylist was argumentative and rude. She kept staying that she was just being honest. There's a difference between being kind with honesty or flat out rude because you don't want to do a clients hair. I asked for just the hair cut if she couldn't do the color and she continued to go back to the color topic, making excuses as to why my correct time selection online wouldn't be enough for her. At this point, I would not be comfortable with her touching my hair and I definitely wouldn't trust her. After sitting and having to see her body language/ facial expressions in the mirror, I walked up to the desk to ask if another stylist was available. They said yes but then the owner popped up behind me and asked to talk. The conversation did not go anywhere and there was no empathy. The owner, Jessica, said multiple times she isn't sure what happened because she had to talk to Michelle. Jessica went on to say that Michelle is a nice person. There was zero professionalism from either of the two. There's a difference between your nice friend, and them having the ability to be kind and personable with clients. I felt as if she was insinuating she did not believe my interaction and experience with Michelle. The owner did not try to get me re booked. This was an extremely inconvenient waste of time and a very sad experience. I was looking forward to getting my hair done and used time off from work to do so. I will not give this place my business. The owner and stylist are careless and clearly don't care about giving good service or obtaining new clients. Very disappointed. read more

Kiyata did my highlights and I've honestly never been happier with them (and I've gotten my hair highlighted a LOT!) Erin is the best! I had a friend that went to Erin recently at Orbit and she said I should check her out - so I did! I am so glad I did! Erin listens to what you want and before she does anything she likes to make sure that the both of you are on the same page as to what is about to happen. Super professional! I ended up cutting about 4 inches off and she did it perfectly. She was also gentle with my head and by that I mean I have had some other stylist that are a little more rough when combing or brushing and I did not experience this with Erin at all. I saw Sara yesterday and she was amazing! I went in with a groupon and was treated like a rock star! The staff is more than friendly (I think I got offered a drink by 3 different people within the first 5 minutes I was there)!!! I always say I'm not super picky about my hair (as long as it's pretty, blonde, and I can fit it in a pony tail) but Sara totally blew my expectations out the water! We consulted for the first 15 or so minutes and she delivered more than I could ever imagine. For some background: I get my hair highlighted every 3 months-ish for about the last 4 years. Honestly I just got tired of driving 2.5 hours away to get my hair done so I decided to try out Orbit after seeing the groupon. When a change in medications, my age, and stress started wreaking havoc on my hair and it started thinning out, I knew it was time to say goodbye to my length. I had been sporting waist/near waist hair for several years, and hadn't set foot in a full service salon in over a decade. Ok my review is WAY OVERDUE! I was so nervous to go to this salon since I have textured hair. I was highly concerned that my hair would create too much of a challenge for the stylist. BUT I WAS WRONG! The stylist got my hair so bone straight that you would've thought my grandmother used a hot comb off of the stove to get my hair straight! My hair was flowing, had volume, smelled good, and LOOKED BEAUTIFUL !!! I was in shock, literally in shock. Due to the fact that my expectations were exceeded, and I had nothing to be concerned about. On top of that, I couldn't even feel her hands in my hair. She was so so gentle! Update number 2: I called April and let her know I wanted to go pink (my highlights have lightened enough for some of the brighter colors to stick). I have a new job and have to work late but she made the time to stay later to give me my pink hair! I'm in love. It came out a little more on the red side in some places but it's mostly pink and red :) totally in love! UPDATE: I still love this place! I went back for a new set of highlights and cut and April still did an amazing job. I messed up though and ruined the wonderful work she did by using a shampoo that was too strong but she rescheduled me and if I dare say, it came out even more gorgeous after she fixed it. It lasted a few months too. She did such a great job that even though the color is fading already (as expected with time) people still give me compliments on the color and tones she did!
