Zero out of five stars. In mid-February I went to Ellie to get hand-tied extensions. She told me I could expect them to last one year. During the application process, the only care directions she gave me was to go bed with my hair in a low braid, which I did every night. Fast forward to mid-April when I was scheduled to get them moved up. When she parted my hair, my hair was matted and very tangled underneath the two rows of extensions. She had to cut both rows out and one was not able to be put back in. My hair has always been the type to get tangly very easily and hard to brush in general. Later that month my mom was chatting with my aunt, an experienced hair stylist, and she asked how I liked my extensions. My mom told her what happened, they were matted and we had to take them out. The first thing my aunt asked was, "Did she ever go to bed with her hair wet? Did she use a special brush to brush the extensions with?" Ellie never told me to go to bed with wet hair. She never gave me instructions on a special brush. If she had told me to not go to bed with wet hair, I would NOT have, considering I spent $1200 (not including tip) on these extensions and was highly motivated to have them last as long as possible. When I followed up with Ellie about this, I was given excuse after excuse and told that it was absolutely my fault! Here are some quotes "an obvious miscommunication." It was in fact a NON-COMMUNICATION. If this was the #1 rule, why didn't she tell me several times and stress the importance of this? These hair extensions were AN INVESTMENT! If I'm spending $1200, why didn't she give me an after-care card or handout on how to properly take care of them if there were so many important rules? "I will not take responsibility for the outcome of your extensions because I was clear on how to take care of them whether you remembered what I said or not, this has never been an issue with any other clients." This is obviously not true - see review from Haley S. dated Feb 10th. She did not take any responsibility for this which I think is very unprofessional. When her clients are spending such a large sum of money, I would think she would want to do everything she could to ensure they have a successful outcome... not Ellie! She did not care whatsoever. She has been so unprofessional throughout this entire experience. I have never written a review on anything before, but I want to save any other girls from going through what I did. Please find another place. My texts to her were respectful. In her response, Ellie came back at me hard and refused to take any responsibility for my dissatisfaction.
