I've been wanting to come try the soup flight here! We tried the tomato dill, chili, potato, and spicy chorizo! The spicy chorizo was the star! But all of them were great! The bread that comes with whipped butter on the side is so good, too! We also tried the turkey and herbed goat cheese sandwich which was also phenomenal. Customer service was good and plenty of seating was available! Will definitely be back!

Those who know...know. Those who don't know...this is how you learn to speak like a local.

Who even knew there were such things as a soup restaurant? When in Rome (and visiting family).... I didn't have to think twice and went up to the counter and ordered a flight of soups - 4 cups with 3 thick slices of bread, and 1 container of awesome butter. I was rewarded with all equally savory soups - they post 6 soups daily, btw. The Gorgonzola crab soup was a standout, the hearty vegetable soup was reliably midwestern, the curry lentil was so subtly delicious that I tried to re-create some when back home, and the habanero black bean was hearty and not incendiary. And the butter? Devine. The soups paired very well with the 9 or so inches of snow that preceded them the day before. Parking is tough but worth it.

I treated myself to lunch the other day at Loup in Tosa - so good! The space is warm and welcoming. I was able to sample a soup before ordering it - very helpful! I went with a spicy chorizo soup, which was delicious, paired with with the Pesto Mozzarella "Sammich" - fresh Mozzarella, Pesto, Heirloom Tomato, Baby Spring Lettuce, and Balsamic Glaze on a Toasted French Roll. It came with a side of veggies and dip. I grabbed a seat at the counter overlooking the street and they brought out my food as soon as it was ready. Everything was warm, the portions were generous (I took half of my sandwich home), and the food was delicious! The prices are on the higher side, but you're getting generous portion sizes and high quality ingredients. I stuck with water but there is a nice selection of beverages and some local treats for dessert available. They also have prepackaged soups in a cooler with a variety of sizes and flavors available to take to go. I'll be back to try a flight of soups or another tasty soup & sammie combo!

Spicy chorizo loco soup is divine!!! Turkey and goat cheese mmmhhh

This is my new favorite place for lunch in Milwaukee. I love the soup choices. I haven't had one I didn't like. You can order a soup flight which you can try a few of them. Their sammiches are amazing the Turkey and goat cheese is my favorite. yum yum yum

My friends were so excited to take me to Loup. It was one of their favorite discoveries from their last trip to the area and I learned why really quickly. The staff was really friendly and soup is one of my favorite foods. I ended up ordering the soup flight ($13.95) so I could try four different soups and got the Wisconsin Beer Cheese, Tomato & Dill, Black Bean Habanero and Carrot & Ginger. All four of them were great and I loved that the sample came with bread and butter to dip into the soup. I love that they also carry local options like Shoe's Brew kombucha and Hatched pastries. They have a fridge inside where you can get prepackaged soup to take home and all the flavors change daily so you can keep coming back to try new options. I wish we had a spot like this locally because I would be there all the time.

I was craving good hot soup on a cooler day when I was just feeling blue and with Soup Bros closed, I have been looking for a replacement and I honestly think Loup may be it! It's not as quirky as Soup Bros, but the food is just so good! I ordered an herb crusted grilled cheese sandwich with a cup of the tomato bisque. All of their sandwiches come up with a cup of soup of your choice and some veggies with dip. On the online order there were also options to add extras. One of the extras was adding free onions to your sandwich, which I chose. Unfortunately I did not get any onions on my sandwich, but that was literally the ONLY fault in an otherwise superb lunch. I picked up my meal and everything was packed very neatly and thoughtfully. Everything was still hot when I got home and was ready to eat. The herb crusted bread for the sandwich truly MAKES the sandwich. I could eat this bread forever, I wish they sold it. The soup was hot and fresh. Dipping the sandwich into the soup was the medicine for the blues I needed that day. The veggies was a carrot, celery stick, radish, and cucumber slice. I think it may be a little overpriced for essentially a sandwich and soup, but I will order it over and over again because I think it's so worth it for the quality of the food. The staff was super pleasant when I went to go pick up my food. They also have a freezer stocked with frozen soup and lots of vegetarian options on their fresh and frozen menu!

Top notch visit today. The menu has a number of sandwich and soup options. I love the variety of soup and that they swap some out every day. I opted for the ham and swiss with chicken and wild rice soup. Perfect for a cold, rainy day. My friend got the grilled cheese with tomato and dill. We both had enough to take some home which is great. Though some of the options are a little pricier, you can tell they use quality ingredients and it's made fresh. The bread was perfectly tender and I loved the mustard aioli with pickles and greens on the ham sandwich. They also serve a small side of veggies with dip which is a great touch! You order at the front and they deliver the food to your table. The server was very nice and patient as we ordered. Overall very cute space. It filled up quick at lunch time which is a testament to how good it is. Can't wait to go back!

I feel like this is the food equivalent to the missionary position. It may fill you up but it's lacking spice. I feel like when you compare to places like Glorioso's, Cheeba Hut, Suburpia, sandwiches like what's offered at loup seem to lack flavor. You can see the ingredients there but something is muted and doesn't stand out. Chocolate Factory has this same issue to me. I got the chorizo soup. I'm a soup gal so I was eager to dive in. Eyeing frozen soups to go as I was waiting for my order, I was thinking about what I would purchase to take home if this was good. Ultimately I wasn't impressed. Not bad. However after frequenting palces like MKE Soup house before it closed, Soup Bros, Uncanny, etc.... it just didn't measure up to me. Heat was fine but the flavor profile was missing something. The space is clean. The service is average/basic. Prices are on the higher side. Safe, clean cut, non-offensive, but nothing that truly makes it stand out amongst other offerings.

Such a fun and unique concept. They have lots of delicious soups and freshly made sandwiches to choose from. We had the grilled cheese with tomato dill and pesto Caprese with root vegetable soup. They also make fresh fruit hand pies. Perfect for a winter day!

The soup and sandwich combo offered at Loup is one of the best lunch options offered in Tosa. The space is super cute and never too busy.

3.5 Stars I was very excited to try Loup after a morning full of Christmas shopping. Who doesn't love a soup and sandwich combo?! I went in around 12 and was pleasantly greeted by an employee. The cafe was busy and you can see there were only two employees working the front. We were a group of 4 and sampled a few of the soups - gorgonzola crab bisque and root vegetable. I thought the crab bisque was going to be a winner but ended up going with the root vegetable. It was a had a thicker consistency and tasted *healthy*. I thought the sandwiches were the real winner though. Sister and I did halfsies and split the turkey goat cheese and the BLT. The turkey was like biting into a warm cloud. Very great texture. If you are looking for more of a crispy bite then I would go with the BLT. It was well balanced BLT. I would order both again. Pro trip- Be warned that your coat will have a lingering food smell and also don't forget a cookie. Super chocolate-y and soft!

We were looking for a local sandwich shop nearby work and Loup sounded like a hit according to other yelpers so decided to give it a try. I ordered online and because there wasn't an option to choose a future pickup time, I added it into the comments. I was in the mood for an egg salad sandwich but was a little apprehensive on the lemony part because that could be a mistake if done wrong. So many good options to choose from but I took the risk and went with the egg salad sandwich. Soup is included too so the higher prices reflect that. I wanted to see more details on the soup ingredients but could only do that if they happened to be offered in the frozen soup menu. I'd recommend the ingredients for daily soups be listed somewhere on the menu/ website as well. Pickup was smooth. Only a couple people seated inside the store around lunchtime but I was taking ours to go. Although I had arrived a few minutes after my requested pickup time, I had to wait a few minutes before my order was ready. After we arrived at our destination excited to eat our lunches, we were disappointed to find no napkins or spoons for the soups that were included. Although the cashier was very friendly and asked if I wanted a bag, it seems spoons and napkins should be a given for all to-go/ online orders. I could drink my soup but my daughter chicken dumpling wasn't as easily done this way. Both of us really enjoyed our lunches. The lemony egg salad had a delicate touch of lemon so the sandwich hit the spot exactly as I needed. My daughter had the herbed grilled cheese & she said it was great. Sizing of the sandwiches and soup weren't so big that I couldn't finish but left feeling full and satisfied. Overall, loup is a good place for lunch with tasty food options.

Bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches. Beer cheese soup and red pepper Gouda soup. Cute little veggies are an added touch. Yum!

I love when I find a new place to try out. They offer soups and sandwiches with fresh ingredients. I had the red pepper Gouda soup with the bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich. Also got a fried apple pie to go. The team was super nice and patient with my questions, I will definitely come here again. They also offer soups to go. The soup options rotate/change on the menu. Try it out. If you are looking for something quick to go or dining inside.

My wife chose the 2 piece cod fry with chips while I opted for the perch fry with fries. Everything was spectacular. The bartenders were jumping around each other to keep people happy at the bar and the rest of the staff get people's bellies filled with food. I surprisingly don't have many options in my "MKE - Fish Fry" collection that are near downtown, but Swinging Door Exchange was one of them. I was pressed for time, so I placed a to go order rather than dining in. I got the combo fish fry (two pieces of cod, two pieces of perch, and three fried shrimp) with potato pancakes. I was also very easily talked into the half rack rib appetizer. The ribs were good, even though I prefer sauce that's more sweet and smokey. Their sauce was on the tangy side with a tease of spice that really only became noticeable when the majority of the half rack was gone. If I were in the mood for ribs as my main meal, I'd consider getting theirs as an entree. The two potato pancakes weren't homemade; instead, they were premade hash brown patties that some other restaurants also serve with their fish frys. These were perfectly acceptable in lieu of homemade pancakes. The cod tasted great, but the breading didn't hold up very well. Either the fish itself was too wet or the two block walk back to my car allowed for condensation to wreck it or possibly both. The perch was not yellow lake perch but probably something like pike perch. Even though both kinds of fish and the shrimp were all good sized portions, $29 feels like a lot. I wouldn't say no to it, though, if I were dining in next time and avoid the extra cost of their takeout fee. Shout-out to the bartenders working that night. The bar area was absolutely packed, but both of the ones I talked to about placing my order were friendly and helpful even with being super busy.
