First of all, customer service was excellent. Exactly what I'd expect from the brand. Fatima Zenner graciously helped me find and purchase the perfect bag for travel. Fatima was also very kind and professional. Highly recommend seeking her out when you visit. The store is beautiful! multiple levels and seemingly endless rooms. The area where you find luggage is beautiful! Make sure to look up when you enter the room. VAT was a little difficult to understand at first but at the cashier's desk the woman who helped us was extremely patient in explaining the process. She even noticed my phone was at a low battery and offered to charge it for me. If you're purchasing LV you already know the quality of their goods. She helped me find all the items I wanted and even recommended other items for us. We left with 3 bags and 2 wallets. The price was very good and the gentleman who attended us was great!! But there was a confusion with the price of the wallet. The little sign was lower by$75.00 the gentleman was trying to get me the lower price but the floor manager was so rude and clearly not professional completely refused. Totally depends on what you want in this LV store. If you plan to just visit the LV flagship store and cruise around to see their products, yes this is very very wonderful store, huge (4 story), nice window display and there are some products exclusively available in France/that store/even not in the market yet. If you plan to buy something there to take advanage of VAT refund, here are tips which will greatly reduce your frustration: 1. there is always a line outside the store but not very long. It moves very fast like 15-20 mins. If you don't want to wait, get there in the morning like 10'ish am. 2. Have a few items you want to buy in mind before walking in there, Keep the model # in hand and be fully prepared alot of them could be out of stock. LV store staff have no idea when the out of stock items will be available and they don't take reservation. What you can do is call their local hotline once awhile to find out and they will NOT take your credit card to reserve your items even if you are told the item is finally available. 3. Once you are in the store, walk straight to the concierge desk immediately for help. The staff will page the manager to assign a sale staff to help you. Then wait at the store about 15 mins on the ground floor (better obvious spot), someone will approach you and get your items. This is totally useless to approach the sale staff yourself, the store is always busy and no one will help you (their attitude can even be somewhat rude). i had so much harsh time asking for even a catalog!! 4. You can only buy one item there per day per passport. Upon payment be prepared to show your passport for non EU resident verification. The payment process can be long (given the busy store + typical slow customer service there). Be patient. 5. Make sure you get the store receipt + the Global Blue VAT refund form (12% VAT refund from total 19.6% charged on all goods, the price tags shown are all tax included) Take both to get stamped at the airport custom desk closest to your terminal 3 hours prior to departure. Then show the stamped form at Travelex for immediately cash refund or back to your credit card. Or you can send the form back to Global Blue, which will take 5 weeks to process your refund. Does it worth all this hassle to buy? yes when you find out you can save up to 25% compared with US retail price + sale tax. read more

Shopping at the Louis Vuitton store in Champs-Elysees was such an experience! To begin, the store is HUGE, but their inventory is still lacking, which might be forgivable given these ARE luxury items. It can also be pretty confusing getting around its five-stories with all the escalators, elevators, and random staircases. Given that it is the biggest store in Europe and it's Paris, France, it gets hectic. It is very difficult getting the attention of the store clerks especially as a young, poorly dressed shopper like myself. However, I'm sure I surprised him with all my purchases. I bought a beautiful bright pink limited-edition patent Sarah wallet and am over the moon with my purchase, which by the way ended up being about 30% less than I would have paid for if I had bought it in the states. A few things to note, because they are so low on inventory, they will NOT just let you buy as many items as you want. Do not even think about trying to buy multiples of the same thing; different colors of the same product you might be able to get away with. And yes, buying at Louis Vuitton in Paris is much cheaper than buying it in the US and anywhere else in the world. Sales tax is refundable (VAT refund), the exchange rate is favorable for Americans, and the goods are just cheaper due to no import taxes. I also shopped around a few other locations in Europe and Paris is again, the cheapest. They also offer you same-day monograming, which I took full advantage of. It takes about an hour, but much better than having to wait a couple of days like you would have to at other stores. So if you're here, stock up and happy shopping. 5- Stars no doubt. This store has fostered my love for international shopping. Yes it can get crazy, yes they might not have what you want in stock, but with the amount of savings and the glamor of shopping in the Louis Vuitton store in the Champs-Elysees makes this a 5-star shopping experience. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Years ago, I went to this location and the service was great. I assumed it stayed the same. When we walked in, it was promising. We were greeted by friendly hosts coming in. However, that all changed. I knew pretty much what I wanted and we flagged multiple people to help. They were hurried and rude. We were treated like 3rd class citizens. We left after 45 minutes, disappointed and annoyed. I refused to buy an LV, Until my hubby took me to Printemps the next day. Beautiful store. The attention to detail was second to none. The design and flow were amazing and their policy to not allow the store to get crowded really helped in the experience. The staff were friendly, funny and helpful. We purchased 3 bags (2 for my wife and 1 for my mother-in-law) and we were happy to find that the prices were, in fact, less than in the states. Ohhh I am in LV HEAVEN! I dragged my husband here last week during our babymoon to Paris! We did have to get in a queue to get into the store, however my baby bump got me a VIP ticket through the velvet ropes and inside the store! BONUS! Two sales associates quickly came over to see if we needed help and when I said, "I was just browsing for a bit" they suggested that I would have an easier time upstairs to get away from the other tourists where there would be more associates to help us and directed us in the direction of the lift. Sure enough, when we got upstairs, an associate was waiting for us. I was quickly able to convince my husband that I NEEDED another bag and the salesperson, brought out every single piece that I requested, which was a total of 7 bags! Rabia, she was amazing and never once did she rush me, she asked me questions to get an overview of my style and what I needed out of my next bag, it was simply the best LV experience I've ever had! After much debate, I decided on a bag that I was happy with, I noticed that the store had closed and we were actually 30 minutes past closing! Never once did she say, oh we're closing in XX minutes, can you wrap this up and try to get us out the door. I explained to her how my shopping experiences were at home and she said that is not the French lifestyle to rush anyone in anything and that she stressed how important the overall client experience was their philosophy and to give everyone a positive and memorable experience. She was just wonderful and I didn't hurt as much to plunk down that kind of cash. Even my husband said that they make spending that kind of money a little too painless. Side note, with the exchange rate, tax free and VAT refund, my bag was a couple hundred dollars cheaper than back in the states! The building is beautiful, but the store itself as magnificent, the windows and forms were a work of art. Added bonus that they have free wifi, so when you are waiting for them to package up your new shiny bag, you can relax on the couch and yelp about it! Gorgeous, huge store, with everything LV you could imagine. Understandably VERY busy with tourists and visitors, but once you get a salesperson, he/she is all yours. I recommend you just wait patiently for someone to open up, and they will approach you. If you go chasing after a random salesperson, likely they will not be too kind nor helpful, because they are helping someone else. Case in point, after I had made my purchases with my lovely and extremely patient saleslady (she literally pulled out every single long wallet in the store before I settled on one), I went to ask another salesperson a quick question about a bag, but he actually waved me away and told me to find someone else! I'm sure his customer appreciated his undivided attention. Also, our lady was very knowledgeable and helpful with the VAT form. We got ours back on the credit card within 2 months (I think it was more like 1). The hardest part is finding customs to sign the paperwork at the airport. Hit or miss here. I'd been here about 10 times in the last 7 years. Mother in law always goes to this location to purchase all her LV goods. I'm not a fan here. The only good thing here is they do have a little more available collections, than other locations. The staff are so busy, that they don't even bother with good customer service. Most of them are rude and judgy queens. I did get a few scarfs, belts, and wallets to match the purses I already have. The whole process is just ridiculous to me. Look around, pick an item, search for an available staff, wait for the item, agreed to get the item, wait in line for the cashier in the back corner to pay, than wait again for your items to come back out, you're looking at 2-3 hours, not counting the wait outside to get it. I had my reservations about coming to this location after hearing how bad the crowds can get. My husband and I were on a 2 week vacation through Europe and had a few days in Paris. We got to the store about 6:30-7pm local time Sept 17th, it was raining lightly and there were only about 6-7 ppl in line to get in the store. We only waited about 5 minutes before making our way in. The flagship store was very impressive, all those floors and every type of LV bag and accessory available. Luckily we had a great experience, I knew what I was looking for and had great service from several staff members once I was able to flag them down. I had picked out my goods but was undecided on a few things and the salesman was nice and patient. Before paying for everything, he asked if I was filing for VAT and I was, took my passport and handled all paperwork for me. With this store, I don't think VAT refund via cash is available (correct me if i'm wrong)? I was only offered 1 option of having the VAT returned to my CC through Global Blue which I was told takes about 3 weeks to refund (told by Global Blue in Rome FCO AIrport). It was fairly unpainful since the paperwork I received had all your information printed and all you need to do is sign and take the paperwork at your last point of entry in the EU and get it stamped by Customs. You can then just give it to a Global Blue representative if there's a location at the Airport or drop it in the mail. I left the store a very happy customer :) Even without the VAT refund, my savings versus buying it locally here (for me California) added with the tax of roughly 8.75% comes out to about $500 dollars based on my purchases, add the VAT refund when it does come through and it's over $800. I'm basing it on the current exchange rates of Euro to Dollar. Loved the savings! One final note, for people trying to use say your Discover card like I did because there's no foreign transaction fees with them. It doesn't work. Had to use my Amex instead read more

Mmm where do I start. Line was 10 min long at 7:15pm, once in I roamed around even though I already knew what I wanted, however, no one available to help me. Finally a young girl put me on the list. 7:50pm comes along, still hadn't been helped, I asked how much longer and asked for a glass of champagne and water for my son, unfortunately it was not offered to me during the wait. Then at 8pm I'm told if I could come back tomorrow because they were closing, I said "no, my flight leaves early tomorrow" which was a complete lie. But I told them I knew exactly what I wanted. 15 min later a nice man helps me, I show him what I wanted and was out by maybe 8:45pm. Service from employees was not bad but I was frustrated that I had to ask for drinks and practically BEG them to sell me my bags! Horrible customer service! First you need to wait in line to get into the store. Once you get to the door, you're stopped by 4 security men to inspect any bags you have on you. Once you get in the store it's crowded. It is impossible to get any help. And don't think that you can just line up behind someone else that looks like they are checking out, as that's not how their system works. Once you find something you want to buy, you wait in line to talk to a person with a phone who will get you help. I told the phone person that we're ready to purchase, indicating to basically just take my money and we don't need a shopping assistant to show us stuff. The phone person told us to follow her across the store and told us to wait here at a register and she will get someone to help us. The phone person disappeared for 30 minutes before we saw her again. I looked her in the eye as she walked past me and she said you're next. She disappeared again. She reappeared again saying you're next as she walks past with a coworker. Showing that I'm tired of waiting, her coworker decided to help. He was nice enough to help us check out, but at the same time very snooty. We asked for a bag and he laughed and said that one is 2000 euros, do you mean you want this other one that was 600. It would be fitting to let Louis Vuitton - Champs Elysees be my 100th review :) This location is spectacular! It is large but easy to navigate and very well laid out. There are plenty of sales staff so I didn't have to wait around for help like some of the other luxury stores while in Paris. Actually one time I waited a bit, but a manager found someone to assist me right away. Yes I went twice. Lol. After checking out, I was offered beverages while I waited to for the SA to pack up my goods. It was definitely luxury service from the beginning to the end because the SA even walked me to the door and thanked me for my purchases. The prices are much better then the states when you include the VAT tax refund even with the exchange rate. Note: go to the custom's tax office outside security not inside to get your stamp for your refunds. Wow. Amazing. Got to Paris on Monday. Went to the Louis Vuitton foundation one on Tuesday. No lines. Perfect time! It's about 5 stories building. They are super busy but great service. You just have to be patience. Their price includes VAT(tax) therefore whatever price you see is what you pay. Bring your passport so they can take care of VAT refund for you. Two options for VAT refund. 1) refund in your cc = 12%. It takes about 4-6 weeks 2) refund by cash 10.8% effect right at the airport How to caculate price: for example: In US: a chain twist wallet cost $1570 usd + 9.25% tax = $1715 what you pay. In Paris: 1070 Euro (this price tag includes 20% of tax but remember you only get 12% tax back. Don't ask me why. It's how the system works ). So 1070 Euro - 12% VAT = 941.60euro. Let's say fx rate is 1.24. 941.60 x 1.24= $1167.58 USD( price when you receive tax refund by CC) In conclusion you pay $1715 in US after tax vs $1167USD (after tax refund) I got 6 items about 10k in usd, Saving about 3k. Oh and one passport can only buys 2 items. Not sure why they let me get 4 items at one time. I came back next day and tried to use my passport but i couldn't use it so I had to use my bf's. The biggest & nicest LV store ever! First level was overly crowded. We asked for help and a gal said they have the exact collection on the second floor with less traffic. We went up and was helped almost instantly. They have new releases that haven't been released in the states yet. And it's slightly cheaper than U.S. prices. This place is bonkers. It feels more like a McDonalds than a high end store. There's a line to get in where associates with iPads filter you based on what language you speak. Majority of the people in line were from a Chinese group so I was told since I speak English the wait is not as long. When an associate comes to greet you, they ask you what you are looking for and almost expect people to come with a list of products written down that they want to see. Shopping should contain a leisure component to it of seeing ALL the new products available but that luxury isn't afforded here. After we saw some products, there was a pressure to either buy or come back later so she could help the line of people still remaining. The experience felt very rushed and crazy. If you're going to spend 1000+ dollars on a bag... I think it shouldn't be a rushed experience! On my first visit to Paris as a recent college grad on a lean budget years ago, I walked along Champs Elysee and saw the flagship Louis Vuitton store across the street. I couldn't afford LV at the time, so I told myself I would come back one day and buy my Louis Vuitton. Fast forward 7 years later, I made my way back through the familiar Champs Elysee and walked out proudly with my new Speedy 30. Overall, shopping at Louis Vuitton's flagship store was a positive and ecstatic experience. -Excellent customer service and attentive retailers who were patient and did not make me feel rushed -Multilingual and knowledgeable staff -The staff brought me tea and refreshments, and took me on a tour of the multiple floors -The staff walked me to the door at the end and thanked me for my business -Fast tax return It is 5-star shopping experiences and customer service like this that will make me a loyal LV customer for life. Ugh. This would be 1 star if the store itself and the selection weren't so impressive. Also, despite the hubris, I was amused by the modified French flag on top of the building, where the middle white part is sandwiched between a V. I was fortunate enough to not experience any lines outside or massive crowds inside. However, as a result of the huge influx of tourists that pass through the doors, the sales staff is not very friendly unless they know you intend to buy. I can imagine they go through many people who want to try but have no intention of buying. However, that does not excuse their rude behavior. Do not blatantly ignore me while I stand at the counter, and then tell me to wait while you converse with your coworker in French. Growing lines out the door to get into this 4-story high-end building and there wasn't even a sale going on. However, this is home of "LV." Observations (on a Saturday afternoon): Majority of the clients were Asians (majority not understanding a single damn word of French or English) and were everywhere. Locals get in w/out the hassle of standing in line as long as they have proof of residency. African bootleggers found in the cuts of 'Paris's' side streets to sell you their bootleg shit. Customers getting kicked out in the store for sneaking up and cutting my group at the showcases even when seen through visual contact, reps where helping us next. Complete madness everywhere! Rioters, SWAT/Bomb Squad versions of the French Policia,' sirens sounding out throughout PARIS, and malicious groups of organized teamed pick pocketers (which you can find more of at the Louvre musuem by the "Mona Lisa") observed just yards away to come up on vulnerable ones. And to top it all off, I only knew 5-8 words/phrases of the French language. Back to the 'GOODS:' You save between $100-800 by buying your favorite LV item. They also have brand-new unreleased items not in the USA yet. To make things sweeter you get 12% tax back money return for non EURO residents at the airport. When shopping in this area u feel obligated to visit this store .. So glad we didn't have to deal with waiting on line we walked right in. After looking into a bag that I initially came with the intention of buying ended up not getting it in comparison to the dollar wasn't a big enough discount for me. My friends on the other hand did a little damage in the end we walked out with 2 handbags, 2 belts & a wallet, if u plan on doing some shopping definitely be prepared to shell out more than a few bucks this place is expensive no way around it. The whole process is part of the experience I guess once they realize u are buying & not just browsing that's when the Champagne & Espresso offers begin .. Good luck trying to get any sales associates to notice you amidst the throngs of tourists vying for a little souvenir of their trip to Paris. LV is LV, but if you're hellbent on buying LV in Paris there are SEVERAL other venues where this can be accomplished where the sales associates might actually look at you. How does a luxury store with a motto of catering to their customers win only 4 stars? A line and a lack of consistency with their customers. I've been dreaming of buying my Louis at the champs élysée store after finishing my masters, landing my dream job, and returning for a celebratory trip back to Paris since my study abroad in 2009. So when it finally happened my best friend didn't let me flake out on the dream. We waited in line for 20ish minutes to be let in. I knew exactly what I wanted but looked around regardless. So I finally had someone ask if I needed anything after 10 minutes in the store and told her what bag I wanted in two sizes to compare. She passed me off and we were set to go. I know I wasn't needy and I obviously was in with a mission, but when spending as much money as I was...a little bit more would have been nice. Especially when everyone else had multiple people waiting on them and veuve clicquot being brought out for them. I don't know if it would be worth the 12% duty free to have to wait in line and feel like you were in a factory to buy something. My mom and I came for vacation to Paris for a week and we decided to stop by the Louis Vuitton store in Champs Elysses. The store itself was busy but the customer service was great. We were attended by a new person in training Ludwig and he did an amazing job for his first month helping out with the merchandise. Overall it was a great experience and highly recommend it. read more
