It is not for the merchandise, which speaks for itself. It is not for the experience, which I shall describe momentarily. It is for the man at the door -- the one who greeted me as I entered the Maison on Place Vendôme. He smiled. He acknowledged my existence. He discharged his post with the grace one associates with a house of this standing. And then, beyond that threshold, I ceased to exist. I walked through the Maison. I browsed. I lingered at items with the unhurried curiosity of someone who has both the time and, potentially, the inclination to spend. Staff were present -- visible, standing, breathing the same rarefied Vendôme air -- and yet not one approached. Not one made eye contact with intent. Not one asked whether I required assistance, had a question, or was perhaps looking for something in particular. I moved through the space like a ghost who had not yet been informed of his own irrelevance. I am a man who has admired Louis Vuitton for a long time. Purchased from Louis Vuitton. Returned to Louis Vuitton. There was loyalty there -- the kind built over years and transactions that add up to something resembling a relationship. But as any Frenchman will tell you, a relationship neglected is a relationship lost. When one party stops making the effort, the other party eventually stops returning. I have, since this visit, found my way to a Christian Dior boutique -- specifically, the one at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. There, a woman named Bleuenne, who appeared to be managing the floor, greeted me without hesitation, asked if she could help, smiled as though she meant it, and treated me as though my presence in her store was not merely tolerated but genuinely welcomed. I left. I came back to get her name. She was still doing it. I share this not to wound, but to illuminate. Place Vendôme is one of the most storied addresses in the world. The Maison that bears your name upon it deserves a floor that reflects that address -- not one where a guest can wander unacknowledged until they quietly decide that perhaps their loyalty belongs somewhere else. You know, they say you never truly appreciate what you have until it is gone. Louis Vuitton, it seems, is willing to test that theory -- and judging by the floor I walked through, I suspect I am not the only one being tested. And as any man who has ever been left by a woman he adored will tell you -- the heart, when sufficiently ignored, does not wait forever. It finds new company. It moves on. It discovers, quite unexpectedly, that someone else has been paying attention all along. Her name, in this particular story, is Dior. And she was delightful. read more

We visited to pickup a hand bag. After striking out at the main store, we grabbed a car and headed to this location. We were in and out in 10 mins. Longest part was waiting for them to box it up. Smaller store than the one next to the new hotel, but friendlier service. I joked with the guy that we'd be his fastest transaction all day. Door man said the same thing. Only downside is the traffic is horrendous here and it took 25 mins for a car to get to us that showed it should have arrived in 3 mins, then stuck in traffic, Which made us late for our lunch reservation. I didn't get a good look at the selection however I liked the layout of this store better. LV isn't known for their selection and affordability however it's a nice bag and I'm looking forward to putting it in circulation. Spent a few hours at the Place Vendôme store with my husband on a birthday trip to Paris last month and left with a few lovely items. A multileveled delight, we chose this location after it was suggested over the supposedly snooty Champs Elysees store and made an appointment on a rainy afternoon. Shyan was our Customer Advisor and was exceedingly pleasant, giving us a full tour of the store, retrieving various items we requested to see, pouring multiple glasses of champagne while we waited for our items to be hard stamped and packaged, and assisting us with our plastic-wrapped boxes to a waiting Uber just outside the store. We left with a couple of Keepall duffles and wallets, thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and, given that 1 Keepall increased by $150 in price by our return, saved quite a bit with the exchange rate and VAT refund in the end. We made an appointment prior to our travel as entrance to the store is by appointment only. Our client advisor Michele a pleasure to work with! He's so personable and professional. He was patient with us and showed us everything we wanted to see, minus a bag that wasn't available. Yes, granted we only purchased wallets, but the client experience was superb. We were provided with champagne and our purchases wrapped in Louis boxes and bags. Michele also took care of our VAT tax refund and before we left Paris we were already credited our refund! Michele also recommended the cutest little tea shop around the corner. Took out one star because their Détaxe machine is NOT working. They are requiring me to take the détaxe in cash and manually write my credit card number on the detaxe papers. This will make me skip Paolo (the automatic détaxe scanner at the airport) and require more time at the airport to go in line for the doane (customs). I have lots of other détaxe paper all directly going back to my credit card. I don't like the extra work. Will buy from another branch in Paris. Saint Germain was able to process my détaxe no problem 2 days ago. Matthew was the SA who helped me. He was excellent with his customer service. Stopped by on Wednesday evening around 5pm. No line outside. However, once I stepped in and meet the host I was advised I was #7 in line. Was free to walk around with my girlfriends. But felt like there was not much to look at. After 10 minutes we just decided to sit down until a Client Advisor was available. When sitting I was offered champagne. Minus one star due to my girlfriends letting me know that the employee literally scanned them up and down. Before offering them a drink. She had quite a bit of attitude as we were trying to communicate with her. About fifteen minutes later, I was greeted by employee YUAN. I kindly named the items I would like to see. Debating on what I should purchase. I decided to go with the Rosalie coin purse & LV side up card holder. He was happy to assist with other items. But unfortunately the Montsouri PM backpack wasn't available. We went through the purchase process. He advised to purchase in Euros. Which was great although I already knew to do so ahead of time. He explained everything to me regarding the VAT refund process. Went through the paperwork and made sure I remember to only scan at the last airport before going home. While there are multiple Louis Vuitton maisons in Paris, with the main one located along Champs Élysées, we were more fond of this location near the Place de Vendôme away from a lot of tourists with hardly any queues to get in! That's right, no lines! Staff is always attentive and super helpful in making sure you are satisfied with your purchase. You get offered a drink while you wait which is customary in Paris unlike in L.A. or other US cities. I did not like this LV store. I came here around 12:50pm on a Thursday, with 3 people in front of me in line. I waited about 10 mins, there were still several customers in the store. Then another 10 mins rolls by, customers start leaving, but they are not letting anyone in the store. More and more time goes by, the store is practically empty, but they have not let ANYONE into the store, except appointments only. It turns out that ALL of the sales reps take their lunch break at the SAME TIME, and will not return until 2pm. By the time I find this out, I've already invested 40 mins waiting in line, and there is no way I'm going to leave this line. I end up getting into the store at 2:00pm, and finally get helped at 2:15pm (since there were people in front of me). Not only that, the sales rep that was helping me was rude. I was asking if they had any Apple Watch bands. He laughed at me and said, "No, I've been working for Louis Vuitton for over 20 years and have never seen a collaboration with Apple." It's just like, geez, you don't have to say it like that -if you don't have the product, just say no. You don't have to rub it in my face. He also took forever to package up a wallet, disappearing for quite a long time - I seriously wanted to ask the sales rep where he was. Lesson learned: make an appointment here to skip that line. Another lesson learned: if the line is only 3 people line, don't assume it will be a short wait. read more

Great staff here. Their operations is well executed. The sales agents are quick to attend to you, get you what you need, and check you out. They offer you coffee/water, unlike the other stores where you need to ask. Overall, great experience with our agent. Got what we wanted quickly and moved on. read more

If you want to make a purchase be sure to look for the person (usually women) wearing a white top with blazer or with a note pad and let them or else you'll be waiting for awhile for an available person to look at your selections. Also, there is a wait outside to get into the store but it goes by super quick so don't be scared to just go line up if you're interested. There's also a metro stop right in front of the store. Prices are about $500-$600 cheaper than in the California and they offer a wider selection with some items I've never seen offered either. Staff are VERY helpful and they all speak great English. Ugh the line. Reservations were booked out more than 30 days in advance & it took about 1.5 hours to get in. The only reason I waited in line is because I knew what I wanted and this was one of the only locations that had it. For casual browsing, there is no way it's realistic for people to wait in line for an hour and a half. The sales associates were kind enough to bring around water, juice and soda every so often but waiting in an hour and a half line sucks no matter what. Sales associate was friendly and helpful once I was finally in and you better believe I got some champagne for dealing with that line madness. The store itself is not all that big. Wonderful experience. It was my first trip to Paris and we intended to visit the flagship store while wandering along the Champs-Élysées, of course, but so did about 100 other people so we passed. A few days later I happened upon this store instead and we decided to pop in. It is located in a lovely area with quite a few upscale boutiques. After a brief wait in line we were warmly welcomed and a manager inquired as to what I was interested in that day. We browsed and after a short time our assigned assistant arrived to show us a few pieces. Unfortunately I can't recall her name but she was as sweet and helpful as could be. Making suggestions, taking note of likes and dislikes, always pleasant and never pushy. They also prepared all of the necessary VAT paperwork for my purchase, which was helpful. i walked in and the concierge asked what i was looking for and i was instructed to go to the first level where the men's floor is. i was there browsing around for awhile and can't seem to find any client advisor to help me after asking some staff for help i was told that they cannot help me because there should be a client advisor assigned to me right from the beginning i was told to go back downstairs and ask the concierge as i went downstairs the concierge asked me if i found what i was looking for and i just said nobody wanted to help me upstairs and i was told to come to you for a client advisor to be assigned and the concierge replied did you ask the manager upstairs and you'll just have to wait. at that point i just decided to leave. read more

I found that the store very nice and the staff very accommodating! I went to this store at the suggestion of the concierge at my hotel. Suggested the flagship rather than the store on Champs...which was fine. I knew I was going to purchase a handbag...however the one I wanted was supposedly unavailable in either Paris or Berlin. So I was going to the store believing that the bag I wanted wasn't going to be there. I arrived and was met by a really nice gentleman...who was very kind and he asked about what I was interested in. I showed him the picture of what I wanted and he told me that it was a bag that they had months ago. So he checked his iPad...and told me that "Today must be your lucky day! We have ONE!" So he set out to look for it and he was right...they had one. And it was one that hadn't been out on the floor, he didn't even know why it was there. So not only did I get my bag I wanted, I got an exotic skin...python, that I wouldn't have been able to get...and the bag has been discontinued. After kicking myself for thinking I'd missed out on the exclusive-to-Vendôme, Masters Collection / Poussin design, I made a point to visit the Vendôme location of Louis Vuitton this time around to see what unique items they had to temp the masses I'd also seen their non-exclusive adorable cat & dog holiday design online & was hoping to see what that was all about...... I've noticed with most LV locations, expect an immediate "no" & one must be stubborn. This experience was no exception. As the Mr & I were greeted, I mentioned I was looking for the "catogram" collection only to be told they were sold out......really? Everything? Everywhere? I then mentioned I was looking for unique-to-Vendôme items, like the Poussin Masters bag. I got zero reaction to the reference of Poussin & a response of "all our items are unique". Well, by definition, they're not really * all * unique when they're everywhere online & at every one of your locations & I'd specifically come to Vendôme after reading there were items only found in this specific store & nowhere else.....i.e., * unique * So I was stubborn & instead of just leaving, the Mr & I decided to browse We went up to the top floor & lo & behold, there was the Poussin bag! However, the one salesperson on the floor stated she was unable to help me because she was already late for lunch & I would have to walk downstairs to ask for someone to come back upstairs with me, to assist me.......um, okay. I don't know.....maybe YOU could have called someone to come up to ME? So downstairs we go & the person who ended up assisting us was nice as could be & made sure to confirm which styles of Poussin they had left & I selected the Neverfull. When I told her I had also been seeking the catogram collection, she said it was 1 floor down. Um, the greeter told me you were all sold out - it wasn't true They had the sweater I was looking for & the Twist style bag. They also had a Neverfull style bag, pyjamas, tennis shoes, charms & boots.....that doesn't seem all sold out to me. So stubbornness paid off & I got tax free shopping to boot. To put it over the top, the lovely salesperson we ended with, arranged for free delivery to our hotel so we wouldn't have to walk around w/ ginormous LV shopping bags - how nice!!! I waited for maybe 20 minutes outside before they finally let people in. I didn't realize you had to put your name down at the front so that you can be paired with an associate, so I just walked in and started looking around. I went to all the floors which were very nice. When I finally got back downstairs, I picked up a bag behind a counter and an Asian saleswoman told me not to. I guess because it was behind the counter? Because I was picking up other bags without issue. I obliged and then finally got paired with a sales associate who I asked to bring me the same bag that the other woman told me not to touch. A little while later, a white couple does the same and touches a bag behind the counter and I guess little miss associate was SO busy she didn't have time to say anything to them. In any case, the sales associate I was paired with was very enthusiastic and helped me and I wound up buying the bag I was chastised over. If you treat this establishment like a free museum of super expensive items with the staff that is willing to wine and dine you to convince you to purchase their outrageously expensive items, then Louis Vuitton is the right place. This shopping establishment screams extravagance while it's multi-tiered shopping levels, to the on-demand staffing help, to the free champagne/wine/coffee/cookies, and to the 60 thousand euro chairs hanging from the ceiling. I would have preferred the ability to just walk around, but after we were assigned a helper, I had this inkling they were constantly trying to sell very pricey items despite multiple attempts at convincing them how devilishly poor I am. At the end of the day, if you're not buying and you want to just explore and learn about LV, this is actually a nice spot to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere and leave before your wallet implodes. read more

In A Nutshell: -I normally don't wear/purchase LV, but when shopping on Rue Cambon in Paris you have no choice but to stop inside Louis Vuitton. -In one easy swoop, I reached my three leather goods limit (per 6 months). -I spent over an hour here while being served fresh bottled water. -I played small ball compared to the Hong Kong tourists dripping designer from head to toe and walking out w/ bags and bags of LV. -The entire shopping experience was no-stress, no-pressure. -Don't forget to get your tax-free reimbursement form to take to the airport. Came here with people who knew what they wanted to buy. If you're not from the EU, you get your VAT back which makes it worthwhile to do some luxury shopping. Visited their flagship the day before and was so put off with the wait. Here, we were greeted immediately and provided drinks. I asked for a cappuccino, but you can get whatever your heart desires such as, espresso, latte, water, champagne. They assign one SA per group. As I waited around, I saw a scarf and the SA was attentive and pleasant. She served all three of us with equal time. In contrast, at the flagship at Champs Élysées, we roamed around for quite a bit. There were so many people who were annoyed and also, I asked for items that were a surefire buy (not for me, I wasn't going to buy) but the SA just wasted her time trying to find a belt that was not my size. If you wish to do some shopping, skip the flagship store and come here. I didn't have any shopping agenda, but the great service precipitated a purchase. Close by, you will find basically the same stores found at Champs Élysées with way less pretentiousness. read more

After visiting the Louvre we walked to the store to see if they had something I liked, We got help after a few minutes and since the store was busy at the time of my visit I didn't mind waiting. The lady who helped us offered us drinks and snacks while trying different things. Some were here and a couple were not but she told us where to go get the stuff, it was another store not far from here. The store was organized and clean, good location since it is near other shops. There are plenty of things to choose from, either small or big items. And we found that some of the items here are a bit on the lower price so If you do not want to carry them around, you can have them shipped or delivered to where you are staying. it was nice to take advantage while in Paris buy some Louis Vuitton and for a good price. read more

We have made several purchases between LV and Chanel over the past few years, and this is hands down the worst experience yet. We had to wait over 30 minutes just to get assigned a sales associate. We were assigned an Irish male associate (Oct 23,2019) who seemed annoyed that we wanted to see a few different items, and rushed us throughout the whole process. At one point, he lost track of which wallets he brought away, and came back asking us alarmingly what happened to "the third wallet" that he had just carried away. It was a little bit uncomfortable, but it was clear in his expressions that he thought we might have stolen it. If we had more time in Paris, we would have gone to a different store or with a different associate. Since we did not, we ended up still purchasing 6 wallets and a bag from this one - we just unfortunately left with a bad taste in our mouths. read more

I think we found our new favorite LV location in Paris! We stumbled upon the Place Vendome location while riding by in one of those double decker hop on hop off buses. We came to find out that this location recently opened in October 2017. We find this location to be fairly intimate yet stocked with all of the items one would expect at the Champs Elysees flagship. The men's department is on the second floor, which was our main destination (looks like there is a third and maybe a fourth floor). Like so many of their other locations, the boutique was quite busy. Staff appeared a little limited. We browsed around a bit (the visual merchandising was worth it). We were eventually greeted by Etienne who was finishing up with another customer. He offered a drink for us but we were fine (they seemed to offer all guests beverages). This was a very nice touch, not seen in the American boutiques. Etienne was very helpful. We were looking for specific items, and pretty much decided what to get while we were browsing. Etienne prepared our VAT paperwork and explained the process. Overall it was a nice shopping experience. The artwork and displays at this store were worth a visit to check out (i.e., window shopping )! read more

The store is very expansive. Not gunna lie, it's impressive the variety of products they create and carry. When in Paris, it's a must to stop and visit. The same way we do with a Museum except, this museum is free. Just don't make contact with any sales people. They will ignore you and make you feel like you don't belong, but it's ok, cuz you're not really gunna buy anything. Lol unfortunately, I did walk in to buy something so I was judged by what I was wearing, but that's ok, I'm not there to brag. I get someone's attention and they help me out. Get me my much anticipated champagne and espresso. A must, if you do shop. But they do rush you. They want you out so that they can help the next customer and push them out. It's all about numbers here. They do not cater to you even if you spend a large amount. Honestly, if you do want to buy, go to the gambon store, it's 1 mile away. Much better service and you don't deal with the crowds. Hence why I give it 3. Worth the visit, worth the photo ops, worth, to window shop, just expect them to be borderline rude.
