    Spicy Duck Tan Tan

Food Quality and Taste: 4 The food was good I think some items could have used a little more seasoning, but overall very good. The food quality and presentation were immaculate- 5/5. I was VERY impressed with how beautiful the items looked. So overall, a 4/5. Bloom- 3.5/5 Sweet & Spicy Sunomono- 3/5 Spicy Duck Tan Tan- 4/5 Service: 5 Service was fantastic. Quit and courteous. I was checked on very often. The servers were extremely knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful with selecting my dishes. The chef will often come table-side to introduce a dish or complete a dish with a sauce or finishing touch. Very impressed. Atmosphere: 5 The atmosphere is very nice. There are a few types of seating options. There's a "main bar," a smaller bar seating, the main dining, and an outside. I was seated outside, and it was a nice, cool day. There is also an open kitchen concept, so you can see the chef cooking as well. Value: 4 The pricing is relatively reasonable. While the food tasted okay, the service, atmosphere, and full experience truly makes this a worthwhile experience. Opportunities for Learning: 4 Lotus offers traditional ramen and Pan Asian dishes, there are many unique ingredients and cooking techniques that provide many opportunities to learn something new. Chef Barry is also a James Beard nominee so he is always exploring new dishes and techniques.

They have their own private parking lot. We were so impressed with the quality of the food, the excellent service, the ambience with our table overlooking the kitchen. We are based in Jacksonville, so the drive was long, but worth it. Don't be fooled with the feeling that Ramen is a simple presentation of food. This was really an elevated experience that I would recommend to anyone. It's unusual for me to experience new tastes in dishes, but I was impressed with the caviar on the desert, which was new and somehow worked!

I gave a lot of thought into writing this review. I was expecting to give Lotus 5 stars. I also was expecting to have a five star experience all around however, this was not the case. FYI Lotus requires a deposit in advance to hold your reservation. I have no problem with that especially when I saw the size of the restaurant in person. Lotus is an extremely tiny restaurant. It's very intimate for groups of two or four. They have a nice little outdoor garden, which probably would be lovely to sit at during cool weather and could probably accommodate a larger party. Inside seating - there is a little noodle bar with maybe four seats that face a wall. Then there is an actual bar with maybe three seats. The whole restaurant had maybe three or four tables of four and then I believe two tables of two. The kitchen prep area is open and you can watch food being prepped in that area. Our table for two was right against the prep area. When we were first shown our table my friend's back was right against that kitchen prep area. We were a little warm when we sat down but we thought it was just because we were near the prep area. There were two small fans on the floor next to our table that we kept adjusting to blow on us. However, it did not help the heat. I want to say our service was excellent as was our food. However, we just could not enjoy ourselves. The restaurant was getting hotter and hotter, and we were literally sweating to the point where we kept asking for ice. It was a very uncomfortable experience. I was extremely disappointed as I was treating my friend for her birthday and wanted her to have a wonderful experience. No matter how good your food is if the restaurant is uncomfortably hot it makes it very hard to enjoy the overall experience. I don't know what the problem was. I don't know if it's always like this on a hot day but this is Florida and it's extremely hot all summer long. We did mention it to the server as we could tell she was uncomfortable as well. She did tell us there was a problem with the a/c. We did not stay for dessert because we were just too hot and wanted to get out of there. On our way out my friend spoke to I believe the owner and he did apologize for the heat. I personally think that in a restaurant that is supposed to provide an elevated experience something should have been done. Perhaps the restaurant should've been closed until the AC was fixed or perhaps the owner should've gone and bought one of those little portable air conditioners. It certainly would've cooled off that little restaurant. This was an expensive meal and a subpar experience. I am so disappointed my friend's birthday turned out the be a such a let down.

Alright there are a lot of accolades swarming around this place. Let me tell you, they exceed every one of them. Absolutely one of the best meals I have had, period. If you aren't making reservations now, do it, go, seriously.

Great meal indeed. We went for our anniversary and enjoyed the spicy Duck Tan Tan and Garlic Noodle mazemen. Both were tasty and totally different flavor profiles. Definitely would get both again as well as try more. I liked that they offered both broth and nonbroth options like the mazemen. It was also nice to watch the team plating and detailed garish game.

The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. The ramen was unlike any other ramen I've had. The inside space is also very beautiful and well decorated. I had no complaints about the service. I'm docking one star because the bill was over $200 for two of us and we got one appetizer, one glass of wine, two ramens, and dessert. I'm glad we went but I'm not sure I want to spend that much just to have a bowl of ramen. I recommend trying it once for the experience!

This is a hidden gem tucked behind The Village Inn. It is by reservation only. All the food had an amazing mix of flavors. We had the Hamachi Crudo (light and refreshing), Banchan (flavorful pork belly with little fat), Spicy Duck Tan Tan, Lobster & Noodles (pictured, amazing broth and flavor!). The service was attentive and very helpful with guidance.

Lotus noodle bar needs a Michelin star! Chefs kiss to everything on the menu. I had a date night with my husband and our baby and absolutely melted in my chair for how AMAZING the food is. The experience, ambiance and fine dining is everything I look for. The house was quaint and had a japandi style design. The lightly dimmed atmosphere really sets the tone. The appetizers and ramen were insanely good! You get high quality food, bold flavors and a perfectly portioned amount of food. The price is well worth the quality and I can't wait to go back again. The chef did an amazing job This is what real authentic food should be!

Lotus Noodle Bar is an unassuming name for an incredible culinary experience. This is not your typical Asian noodle bar and the fact that it's located right here in Saint Augustine is beyond luck! We made a reservation for a table near the noodle bar so we could watch the magic. It's like watching a painter or jewelry maker. I suggest sitting inside the dinning area. It felt like the patio was an after thought expansion and you would not get the true feeling of the place. However, if that's where you are lucky enough to a table at all, that's okay! We shared a sake cocktail which was a bit too sweet for our liking. We should have stuck to the excellent Sake and wine list. The steak tartare which is the chefs unique Asian spin on a classic. Which really every dish is his own unique spin so don't expect anything Typical. Dine here for the Magical. He ordered the spicy duck Ramen which feature ground duck instead of the traditional roast duck you find in most Asian places. The broth was the perfect amount of heat and balanced well with the rich traditional noodles and egg. I scored with the beef brisket Raman. I could slurp that broth all day! Every bite was yummy Delicious deliciousness. I selected to have mine with the rice noodles. I was a little worried that it would be too delicate with the brisket, but actually these were not thin, slimy rice noodles you would expect. they were perfectly cooked and worked well with the Ramen. We skipped dessert because we're both watching our weight but both selections sound really interesting. If we were bringing visitors, which I'm sure we will one day, we would've selected one and tried a bite. We will have friends visiting in April and Lotus will be on our MUST DO list.

Best Ramen I have had other than Japan. I had the Spicy Duck it was so good. I tried my wife's lobster ramen soooo good. We had the spicy cucumber appetizer it was very good! The experience was fantastic for our first time! Heather our waitress was so helpful and fun! The place is very clean and great ambiance! The details around the restaurant are so nice! Lastly you need a reservation to come here.

A culinary delight. A very creative ramen menu that delivers on quality, recipe, and taste. We had the Duck Tan Tan and the Garlic Noodle. Both are dense and rich in flavor. Truly wonderful ramen. The service and s precise and efficient. Lot to love about the Lotus.

Wow, what a special experience! Made reservations for a Friday evening dinner. Restaurant is very small and intimate. There was no seating available inside besides the bar seating so I reserved an outdoor table. Luckily the weather was around 70s so it was perfect. They offered several mocktail options which I appreciated since I don't drink alcohol. I ordered a spicy margarita. Very good and refreshing! For our appetizers we ordered the tuna sashimi, hamachi crudo and the Not so traditional caviar service. For our entree, we shared the garlic noodle mazemen. Each dish was beautifully presented and delicate. I loved how they explained each dish and how they used ingredients from their own garden. You can tell they were intentional with each dish, bite and experience. Even the chef stopped by to explain the sashimi dish! I can say they definitely deserved the James Beard nomination. Would definitely go again to try other dishes!

It's one of the best restaurants I have been to in my life. Probably the best Thai restaurant in St. Augustine. Not only was the food delicious -- seriously, everything we ordered was amazing -- the service was extraordinary. Jak, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure that we and our dogs were as comfortable as possible while eating outside in the Florida heat. He opened the big umbrella to provide us with shade, brought a bowl of water for our dogs as well as some treats, and even went as far as bringing out a fan to provide us with some breeze. My husband and I were blown away by this service; we've never been to a restaurant were the owner cares so much about the customers. As aforementioned, the food was also incredible. We started off with some curry fish cakes and curry puffs; both were very tasty and came with a sweet peanut sauce with vegetables. For our main dishes, we had the red curry chicken -- very flavorful and deliciously spicy, but not too spicy -- and the drunken duck noodles -- also very flavorful. To finish off our meal, we had the sticky rice mango, which was very yummy. Additionally, we had the mango boba and peach passion fruit boba teas, which were very refreshing in this summer weather. We'll definitely be back whenever we come back to St. Augustine and will recommend it to our friends and family when they visit.

This Publix is located along a main road, and is easy to navigate to. There is a dedicated parking lot, and we had no issue grabbing a spot relatively close to the entrance. Our visit was on a Tuesday morning in July, and there were a good amount of customers at that time. This location is either relatively new, or recently went through a remodel. Everything is clean, shiny, and modern. I was impressed with the design of the space, and how organized and clean the entire store was. In addition to the typical grocery portions of the store, there were several tables inside to enjoy your food from the hot bars or your drinks. Originally, we tried to order our sandwiches on the app, but it was giving us some issues. We went inside to order and it was a pleasant experience. There were a few people in line before us, but we were served in no time. The employees making our sandwiches gave some good recommendations when we asked about their limited time offers. We pursued around the store for a couple minutes before we checked out. Our group grabbed some chips and other grocery items to accompany the sandwiches. I personally headed to the hot bar, which was right next to the deli/sandwich bar. They had cheese curds that are sold by the pound. I personally love cheese curds, so I got about a pound's worth. I really enjoyed my lunch! The cheese curds were plump and very tasty. They have more of a breading instead of a crunchy coating, but still very good. My Turkey Pub Sub was awesome. I love how you can truly customize these any which way you want. I even put some egg on as a topping this time.
