I was looking for a quick stop to get coffee and a pastry and fell upon this spot near by and I am so glad I walked in! There is plenty of seats inside to hang with a friend and a cute patio space outside as well. The staff was quick and efficient and was super helpful providing me recommendations on their spread of delicious baked goodies. I ordered an iced lavender latte with skim milk and got the lingonberry almond cake. The cake was insanely delicious! I loved the texture and it had the perfect amount of flavor. The iced latte was not too overwhelming with the lavender syrup as well. Would definitely come back when I'm in the area again!

I'm a sucker for a good a new Bakery and glad I discovered Lost and Lardon's on Clark in Andersonville. For me the litmus test of a good bakery is its chocolate chip cookie. Well Lost and Larson's sure did pass with flying colors. It's a smaller bakery with just a handful of baked goods as it is mostly a cafe. But cozy for just a nice sit down to chill after work. Love a neighborhood bakery!!

Lost Larson has a solid offering of both sweet and savory pastries and very well made drinks. Plenty of seating and relatively quiet- it's a great spot to meet up with friends or stop for a quick study session. The baristas are friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel very welcome here!

I got an almond lingonberry cake and tebirkes (looks similar to a croissant but with almond paste inside and poppy seeds on top). The almond lingonberry cake was a nice mix of sweet and tart. The tebirkes was yummy, not too sweet! I read other reviews before going in, and they mentioned an additional service? fee that is automatically added. I noticed that my total was higher than the total I estimated. I didn't want to cause a trouble and ask about the additional fee. I think that it's a little sneaky, because you don't see the additional fee unless you say yes for the receipt to be printed/emailed to you. The i-pad screen only shows the after tax and after service fee amount. And then it asks for tip on top of that. Bar seating near window, small 2 person tables. Not ideal for large gatherings.

You know, I continue to be completely impressed by the pastries at Lost Larson. It's really darn hard to make a solid line of savory pastries that feel light and tasty without being too heavy, but man lost Larson found a way. Yesterday we tried the kale/cheddar, ham/cheese, almond, and spinach/feta pastries. All of them were fresh, light, and incredible.

Cool upscale Andersonville bakery where you can get homemade baked goods and surprisingly good coffee amongst other coffee beverages. I also have tried their cold brew which is very good. The cream cheese muffin is damn good. There are a few rabies inside where you can set up and do a little work while enjoying their offerings. Out back they have a really nice patio seating area I discovered on the way out. I'll be back to try Lost Larsons again and more specifically their patio. All in all a great independent neighborhood spot in a great neighborhood.

This coffee shop is located in what seems to be the hipster area of Chicago. People were super friendly in passing and very care free. Seems to be a welcoming area of all walks of life and very accepting. Lost Larson is very popular. A friend who lives in Chicago recommended this place because it's one of her faves. I can see why. The danishes and other bakery items were really good. If they have the cake (can't even remember the flavor) but it had white icing and very fresh tasting....get it! They literally had one slice left, so I knew then it must be a hit. The matcha was good, but could be better. The matcha to milk ratio seemed to be off. More milky than matcha.

A table on the sidewalk outside of Lost Larson in Andersonville. On the table is a "large" London Fog (tea latte) and an almond croissant.
    Dennis H.

Meh. First-time customer. I ordered a large London Fog, and if they truly served me a large (see photo), I'd hate to see what a small looks like. Thimble-sized? The almond croissant was pleasant and flaky, but almost completely devoid of almond paste/filling. Staff not especially friendly. Space seems okay. There are other, better bakery-cafes in Chicago and this one doesn't merit a second visit.

Got a toogoodtogo bag here (very competitive to get) - and it makes sense because their pastries, both savory and sweet, come highly recommended by my chicagoan friend. Got 7 pastries - all were very fresh, balanced, and nuanced in flavor. Pictured is a turbines and cardamom bun. Not pictured, but also got a croissant, cheddar and kale scone, blueberry muffin (which was fire), and another cardamom bun. All pastries were fresh - and the staff were super inviting and friendly. The space is very simplistic and elegant, and has some seating indoor and more outdoors. Would definitely come back for their pastries as they do both savory and sweet pastries well. Side street parking can be hard to find here, but there are residential areas nearby.

Chocolate Spelt Cookie Lingonberry Almond Cake Tea
    Mark M.

Stopped in for a quick pastry and tea. Quickly greeted at the register and ordered. Not much seating inside but plenty of space to chill. Big window counters so you can do a quick lap to see what to get. The spelt cookie had a different almost grainy like texture from a normal chocolate chip cookie. The lingonberry almond pastry was very good with a great tartness. Teas were also on point.

    Kay P.

The croissant and pastries here were good - I wish they were little softer & fluffier but we went towards the end of the day so maybe needed to go earlier to get the most fresh pastry. Overall it was a fun spot to try a little treat, and would go back to try their coffee!

They pastries are already fabulous, and its apparent with how quickly they sell out some mornings. Recently came by and tried their breakfast sandwich and I am hooked! They come on a fresh brioche bun with a housemade sausage patty that is juicy but not too fatty, a egg patty that is fluffy, thin pickles and an aioli sauce that wraps it all up. Seriously it is so good!!! They gave me another reason to come back around and I'll be back!

Amazing pastries, amazing coffee. What more can I say. It is a more upscale place place, the prices are steeper than I'd usually spend however the quality makes the prices feel reasonable. Street parking as very easy and employees were friendly.

We were looking for a nice, sit-down cafe and there are a decent number of tables but almost all of them were occupied so seating was limited and it was hard to really settle in comfortably. The drinks were fine (although a bit pricey) and they did take a while to come out (it was crowded but most of the people already had their drinks). There was also a slight mix up where one of the drinks was missed which was eventually resolved, but again, added to the overall wait and slightly disorganized feel of the visit. Nothing was really bad, but nothing stood out either. It just felt a bit overwhelmed by the volume of people compared to the space and speed of service. Decent drinks and nice decor but long wait times and limited seating made the experience less enjoyable than it could've been.

We waited some more and then went up to ask where our baked goods were and they weere like "oh we forgot" and I asked them to heat up one of the items. We then waited and waited and finally gave up. When I got up to remind them, they shrugged as the item in the oven was pulled out and sat there until it was cold. We asked them to put it in a bag. Now there were two servers and not many people. We are fairly mellow but this experience was totally unacceptable. We will never go back to this cafe.

I'm looking forward to the menu changes. Thanks for your consideration! Previous review: I really enjoy their beverages and I keep coming back. That being said, there is almost no price transparency. The only prices they have on their menu are for the THC additions. I've mentioned this to the owner twice (he's a cool guy) but he has always sort of shrugged it off. It bothers me every time I'm in. Sometimes my latte with oat milk comes out different prices. Price transparency is so important for consistency . Not including the prices is a bit elitist, especially when the average drink is $6-$8. You should want folks to come in and comfortably order what they can afford. I hope this suggestion is taken into consideration. The drinks are good and like I said, I keep coming back but this has been a sticking point for me for a year plus.
