Randomly walked down this little alleyway and stumbled upon this hidden gem! The servers were so friendly and outgoing, we had the Quinoa and Tuna Poke bowl and the Pica Pau for starters and they were both fantastic! For dinner we had the Tuna Wellington which was overcooked just a little bit (we like Tuna Wellington more on the rare side) but overall very good! We also had the Shrimp Curry with basmati rice which was exceptional. And lastly we had the Octopus, it was very tasty, but it is a smaller portion (it was just 3 octopus tentacles and a couple small potato halves). Overall, a very good experience! So we dined here last year. Amazing food, amazing service and a view to wow. We come back to Lisbon this year and as our experience was so good last time we felt we must come again. Sadly this experience was the complete opposite. We sat and after 20 minutes received our drinks. Then 90 minutes later our food finally arrived only after we flagged down our server and asked where it was. My family and I went recently and enjoyed the food and the view until a day later...My brother and I got food poisoning, definitely from here because this is the only meal my parents did not try and we both were miserably sick. 1 star attitude from management. 5 star food and view. The manager was quite abrupt, bordering on rude. We were 2 guys having a business lunch. Our table on the terrace had a double 'lovers' chair and a low stool. As it was a business lunch, we didn't want to sit side by side on the lovers chair. We just asked for a normal chair to replace the low stool. Waiter said he wasn't allowed to move chairs so we asked for the manager. She came over and was totally unhelpful and said we could not have a normal chair. This is despite the restaurant being 80% empty for the whole time from 12:30-2:30pm and with literally dozens of unused chairs inside and on the terrace. Her attitude gave the impression that she didn't want to be there and that it would be great if we were not there either. No smile at any point. No understanding our question (or even pretending to understand). Just abrupt and dismissive. Food, view from the terrace and service from the waiter were all great. Incredible views, tucked right along side of the hotel we were staying at- Memmo Príncipe Real. We sat down here for lunch in the outdoor patio and soaked up the sun. I mean, this is what you come for right? Then you won't be disappointed! First off- the goat cheese pasty in the apps section of the menu was so unique and a must order. The place was furnished with some Eastern Indian influences and some items on the menu were infused with the same influence. First, the goods - pretty and airy furnishings with potential for a romantic place, killer views. Food on the other hand was hit or miss - the tomato soup with poached egg was delicious (could be a tad hotter), grilled vegetables had an extra taste of sweetness like brown sugar, the tuna was good on a bed of spinach but not sure if the purée eggplant added anything to the dish, the shrimp curry was underwhelming - small portion and being from SF/LA where genuine Indian food is plenty, tasted a bit middle of the road and the white wine was unremarkable. The dessert of pumpkin "cake" with cinnamon ice cream was good. Now to the not so good - the hostess and some staff operated like the reservations were at the factory. They were a bit gruff. Two elderly ladies were asked directly to vacate as there was another reservation after them. They could have handled it better. Turned out, no one showed for at least another hour. We were only there for cocktails on a Thursday, about 2 hours before closing, so it wasn't crowded (though we did snag the last bench outside). Drinks were a little more expensive than expected (around 12 Euro for a basic mixed drink) but the ambiance was great. We didn't try any of the food, service was pleasant and friendly. Great spot, tucked away from from the street, with a beautiful view overlooking the city. There are two outdoor patios and an indoor restaurant area. The patios have cabana-like seating with cushions and pillows-- very relaxing and comfy. We ordered some wine and the cheese plate which was a great snack after hiking around the city. The waiters were very prompt and attentive. We asked one of them where to go out at night and he was extremely helpful, even pulling out our map and showing us his favorite spots. It always sounded like the outside area was popular, but I liked this one spot right at the window overlooking the whole city, under the gaze of a series of embroidered Ganesha pieces on the wall. One of my favourite places in Lisbon. Hidden in an alley just above Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara, LostIn is a restaurant/bar with a cosy terrace and bohemian-style decoration. The menu is different depending if you are seated inside or outside. I've always opted for the terrace as one of the corners offers a great view on the city and the Castelo São Jorge (on chilly evenings, the waiter will bring you a nice polar blanket). The food is very tasty, the composition of the dishes is exotic and surprising and the proportions are decent. Their salads are great ! But I must say, one of the best things they have to offer is their desserts. These desserts are to die for ! I am going back soon to taste the only one I still haven't tasted... Their lime tart, pomegranate chocolate cake, pumpkin moeilleux with ice-cream... It's divine. We made a reservation at Lost In for a bachelorette party dinner for 11 women. The reservation was for 2 hours of drinks outside on the terrace at 7 with a table for dinner reserved at 9. We arrived for our reservation and were told that there was not room on the terrace for us and would have to sit inside. To make matters worse, the manager would not budge to make room for us on the terrace at any point in the evening, even though we showed him the email with our reservation clearly stating we had the roof reserved. So we left to find someplace that could accommodate us outside and the manager said that it was rude to leave when you have a reservation even though they would not honor the one we had made. This was my second visit to Lost In Esplanada, and it was fantastic. The food was extremely light, healthy and fresh. The outdoor view is incredible and is one that you will want to take in during the day. It did quite chilly at night. However, the staff provided us with a cozy blanket while we waited for our table. I would recommend making a reservation in advance as our wait was long. Also, the white sangria is amazing. Love this little gem of a roof top terasse. Went for dinner, drinks and lunch during a 4 Day holiday! The atmosphere is casual, the decor a little exotic, the tapas really tasty - especially the goats cheese mille feu, the octopus tempura/Lemon Mayo, confit duck salad and the cheese selection. The only reason for not awarding 5 stars is the drinks. Some of the cocktails needed a little ekstra finesse and the cava was sold out at 9 on a Friday.
