What a great spot! I was invited to a last minute brunch and wasn't clear on what the plan was but it turned out there was a burlesque show! Except that our reservations were 1st thing at 10am and the show wasn't scheduled until noon. The reservations included a small surcharge per person for the show. The drinks and food were delicious. I had the wanderer's call for my cocktail and it was delicious; I really appreciated there was a mocktail list too. And we shared an assortment of small plates, the deviled eggs and the cornbread were standouts. I love when you can make a humble dish like cornbread shine. I snitched a bite of the crab pasta from a friend and it was great. Service was top notch and the space is gorgeous. Tucked away, chill, and super cute..perfect spot for a drink! Firstly, the space is way more spacious than it looks from the outside. There's ample seating, a long bar, and a quaint back patio that leads out to the pool. I opted for bar seating, and the bartenders were cool and friendly. Lost Coyote is one of those fly under the radar hidden hotspots in New Orleans. It's great for a large group. We have often come for a brunch and stayed for happy hour lol! The menu is unique and a fusion of flavors. The cocktails are well made, and there are some unique options to choose from, but bottomless mimosas are also available on Sundays. Not to mention there's a swimming pool out back if you want to buy a pass and swim. Make sure you stop by and say hello to the friendly goat mascot. I can't stand enough good things about this spot, it has become a regular in our group brunch rotation. I don't have any food photos to post because I always dig in before I remember to take a photo! This place is so cute and a lil gem. The host was so friendly and nice and he also ended up being our server. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us some great options which did not disappoint. For appetizer we started with the crab claws which was great. The sauce it was paired with was different but a good different. It was the perfect combination that made it unique and exquisite. For our entrees we ordered the pork chop, braised rib, and fish. My favorite was the short rib, it literally fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. I didn't like that thr mash potato was sweet that was kind of weird but it wasnt bad. The pork chop was juicy and cooked perfect, and the fish was well prepared too. The cocktails was disappointing. The lemon drop martinis was straight lemon jucie. Great service, food taste good, good cocktail. We told the water a certain shrimp dish was too sweet and they took it away and removed it from our bill. Wife and our friend were happy and the bottomless mimosas flowed well. I got the chicken sandwich. It was way too much for one person to eat. I definitely did the fork and knife method. Saved me last summer with their monthly pool membership given how packed The Country Club gets. Lost Coyote is a great pool choice with a great bar thats closer to my hood but needs some improvements. The sound needs to be better as the speaker system here is not good enough to combat with the nearby interstate and when it is loud its still not good. The food here is not your everyday poolside food but to not have atleast a burger on the more exotic menu is quite odd. With a better sound system and simpler pool menu this will be a great addition to an already competitive summer pool market in New Orleans. read more

Super cute space you wouldn't know when you walked in the door you were still on the corner of Claiborne and Esplanade although I didn't get a chance to try the food yet the menu looks amazing and I look forward to coming back from the food that I made my way out back to go to the pool! I wish I could give negative stars. The absolute WORST service I've ever had. I honestly thought we were being punked. Went to the bar while waiting for our table for 5 to grab a drink. The bartender was rude. I told him I liked his funny shirt and he just looked at me like "whatever". It took forever for our server to bring water, take orders and bring food. It was like she was avoiding eye contact every time she walked by. We finally had to flag down a manager. I can forgive bad service if the food is outstanding... it wasn't. The boudin and cheese empanadas were dang near empty. The fried chicken was $30 and had 1 small piece of chicken. It was okay but pretty bland. Not worth the price. Also suggested a few items and thoroughly informed us about the menu items. My husband and I had been here before, but the other 6 guests had not . We only had drinks the first time we visited. This time we had delicious appetizers; the sautéed crab claws, crawfish boiled fried potatoes, Cajun corn dogs and the cornbread muffins. All were delicious and seasoned well. For our entrees we ordered the Pan seared gulf fish, the grilled steak, the fried pork chop, and the short ribs. The Pan seared fish and short ribs could have been seasoned more. All of the other dishes were good. We all got drinks and all were good. That night they had a graduation celebration in the back with a live band . The music made the tone of the night even better. We went to their Thursday special girl dinner and steak night and tried both. The streak was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. for the girl dinner, you can choose three items. We did the fried olives, caesar salad and truffle fries. I loved the fries! They also had some cocktail specials: $5 old fashions and espresso martinis. The old fashion was really good! We came in for brunch and after a quick debate, decided to sit in the burlesque brunch and a time was had! Vivi Noir got my husband to step out of his comfort zone and the sights and laughs were endless. Topped with bottomless pineapple mimosas and some delicious eats: we had an AMAZING time. Although due to my orange allergy, I was unable to try the cognac glaze, the beignets were top tier: flaky and delectable. The cajun hotdogs were a great surprise: crispy and flavor-packed. The pork, belly greens and potatoes were perfection. I was full all day but didn't feel heavy. The pool was an added bonus. It was super cute, just deep enough to float around and sip on the spiked Baja blast. Not only was the place great but EVERYONE was so friendly, welcoming and made us feel like we were family. I got a chance to chat with the chef and the passion he has to create innovative meals for Halloween has me excited to come back. Walking from Jazz Fest yesterday evening and decided to stop at this newly opened restaurant/bar on Esplanade. The aesthetic is beautiful, ambience is very pleasant. My friend and I sat at the bar where this super kind waiter (hate I didn't get his name, he was the sweetest) told us about the current special-- 2lbs of crawfish which includes a pool pass that can be redeemed on another day and a free beer.. we decided to go for it! I'd also been craving crawfish the entire day so I felt like I hit the jackpot!! We decided to order drinks as well instead of the beer. We chose to sit outside since the weather was lovely on yesterday. He walked out and handed us our crawfish, that's where the disappointment started.. the to-go plate he handed us clearly, apparently, obviously, was not 2lbs. I'm knowing this as I am a native of New Orleans, I should know what 2lbs of crawfish looks like. I can typically eat 4lbs by myself, this is what we do here! Lol. I mentioned it and he gave us another to-go plate filled w| crawfish after speaking w| his manager. I was thankful that he did accommodate us. Again, he was truly the sweetest. After digging in, the crawfish were very dry- I mean no juice at all and super cold. At that point, we decided to just pay for our drinks and leave. I'm assuming a typical tourist wouldn't notice the amount nor care about the taste. I couldn't dismiss it. Overall, this is a lovely spot. Drinks were amazingly, amazing. Service was great! I'm disappointed the crawfish didn't work out; however, I am VERY excited to try this spot again. I'll of course be ordering something other than crawfish. The hottest new pool spot in the big easy. It's definitely the place to be on Sundays with the best crawfish boil in the city. Excellent brunch menu, the Cajun corn dogs caught me off guard, they were the bomb. Pool full of young attractive people, enjoying some great cocktails, with all the tinctures made in house. And it's also a great place to come for dinner, it's really a unique place with a lot going on. I'm really excited to see which direction Lost Coyote goes next. They also have a huge ballroom above the restaurant, which will eventually be used for catering events. Huge fan, it's now on my rotation, and it's the most affordable pool membership in the city. They have only been in business a year, but the word must get out! Wow! What an amazing departure from the norm! Pool, amazing wine, cocktails and cuisine. Our waitress, Jessica, was very friendly and knowledgeable.
