Great place to have a kid's birthday party! My daughter was invited to a party here, which involved a pony ride during the entire party. The girls took turns and, after they each had a turn, started asking to go again, and again, and again. Both the pony & handler were extremely friendly and patient with the kids. We also took a little tour of the stables and got to see all of the other horses. Nicely maintained area, great staff, and also looks like they have some great riding classes, if you happen to be looking for that sort of thing. read more

The guide was terrible and completely disengaged from the start. He didn't say a word to us when we started the trail and wasn't even paying attention. He was impatient and seemed like he didn't want to be there. If you don't have any experience riding horses, this is not the place for you. (You can check one of two boxes for any experience from riding 0-10 times or more than 10 times.) The horse, Oreo, only wanted to eat grass, and I struggled as soon as we got to the park. We were told both horses were calm. The guide barked instruction from the front of the other rider instead of coming over to explain. He just kept telling me to kick the horse harder and pull the reins harder. I would pull the reins up and the horse would immediately put his head back down to eat grass. I tried multiple times to get him away from the grassy area. I was afraid and felt unstable, so I grabbed the saddle and the guide fussed at me for grabbing the saddle. He repeated the same instructions over again, which weren't working, and eventually came over to me. I ended up being terrified on top of the horse. So, the guide called someone to come out and help. I didn't feel safe at that point and just asked to get down. I ended up walking back and will never get on another horse after this experience. There's no refunds. It was a total waste of time. The other workers didn't seem to believe me when I complained about the guide (big guy named Lane, I think) until the one other rider explained how disengaged the guide acted. My friend has done a bunch of trail rides and never experienced such bad service. Save your money and go do something else. This stable doesn't care about its riders. read more

Came here while on vacation in NOLA for a trail Ride. Had the best time with my boyfriend and his little brother- my boyfriends little brother was very apprehensive about going but i think bc of the horses being so well behaved & The trail guide being so friendly and good at what he does, he really loosened up by the end. Recently went on an Audubon Park trail ride with some friends and there daughter's. We all had the best time! The horses were safe and well behaved and our tour guide explained the park history and fun facts to us. We will be doing this activity again! read more

Me and my partner did the trail ride which is an hour walk around the nearby park. Our experience was that we enjoyed riding the horses however we wish there was a briefing of how to properly manage the horses as well as an introduction. Upon arrival several of the workers refused to greet those of us waiting to start the trail ride as well as many side conversations that seem as though they were uninterested to actually be doing the ride. There were also times throughout the trail ride that things were being advised to us that was a little difficult to comprehend being we were already sort of placed on the horse and already in motion. Another suggestion for the owners would be to ensure the horses are properly fed and prepared for their next ride so that the experience for the riders are less tedious. Along the ride many if not all the horses were quite slow and leaning down to eat due to be hungry at which we were told to not allow them to eat along the trail ride. If the owners could incorporate these things including a positive attitude you'll definitely enjoy this outdoor activity :) read more

I've ridden a horse before and wasn't a big fan of it, but for my moms birthday we decided to go and I'm so glad that I did. The staff is super friendly, the horses are gentle and our tour guide (I believe his name was Trevor) was just the best! The horses Frida and Donut were gentle and the trail ride had a beautiful site! We will be back next time we're in New Orleans. read more

My friends and I had a girls day and decided to go horse back riding in New Orleans. We had so much fun and our guide Meg was great!!! Everyone was very helpful there. The horses were very well trained to ride guided trails. they where very sweet, some where a little old and slow but so sweet never tried to do anything to get out of the line on the trail. I rode Tyson he is an old boy but so so sweet and would not leave the line such a good boy but he was very tired by time we where done. I would suggest maybe trading the older ones out more and give them more of a break, maybe and training some younger horses to trail ride but still it was well worth the money we had so much fun and I highly recommend these stables!!! read more

An amazing deal for a half hour private lesson. They have gorgeous school horses along with a stable full of privately owned horses that are worth more than my life (in the 50k+ range). Everyone there is really friendly. If you have the time you should have a ride, walk around the park, and down Magazine street. read more

FABULOUS. Fabulous staff, horses, tour, prices. My fiance and I went on a tour around Audubon Park this March. The tour guide, Deanna(?), was wonderful. I had ridden before, but the rest of the group were new riders. She was very good at making them feel comfortable on the horses, checking in on their comfort levels throughout the tour but gave us some freedom. My horse, Macintosh, was used to taking lead and Deanna just let Macintosh and I stay in front of the group for most of the tour. It was a beautiful tour, highly recommended! read more

I don't know how regular lessons and rides are, but my kids went to summer camp here for 1 week in 2020, during the pandemic. For the entire week, there was no soap in the bathroom, the outside sink was broken for half the time (no soap either), and they didn't enforce any of the other Covid-safety rules like masks and distancing. And while my kids were told to scrub the fence in the direct sun, they got multiple fire ant bites on their shoulders and their upper thighs and knees, even though they had on long pants. The counselors found a bottle of Calamine lotion that expired in 2014. This place didn't seem to care about the kids. read more

Would not recommend this place for first time riders at all. Our ride was scheduled to start at 11:00 but we didn't start until 11:20, none of the instructors gave clear directions on riding the horses and different commands to use. My instructor screamed and yelled when I couldn't get the horse to stop because I was never told the command to STOP the horse. Overall the view and trial was really nice but I would not recommend this trial for beginners. Also we paid for an hour ride but the ride was only 45 minutes. read more

They're main objective is to sell you a horse. And for WAY more than the horse is worth. A horse being only worth what you can sell it for. None of these horses are worth 50K. She isn't in the business of breeding horses. If you are looking for a Saddlebred try Saddlebred Rescue first. If you don't find what you are looking for go online and prepare to be enlightened to the scam they have been running for decades. That horse in the picture could drink water from a ten gallon hat and watch a parade go by at the same time. This place has no turnout the horses are kept in a 12' X 12' stall and taken out for 1 hour tops every other day. It's about time they started renting horses again. The deal they have with the park is to rent horses and they didn't for many years. Take advantage of that while you can if you are from out of town it's a nice way to see the park and the beautiful architecture of houses on Exposition Blv.. If you are into trail riding you won't be happy at all with a little stroll around PART off the park. I can't imagine anyone who has experience with horses finding theirs to be even mildly attractive. One poor soul was so sway backed I had to look 3 times to believe what I was seeing. WHY would he be locked in a stall and not out to pasture as nature intended? If she actually cared about that horse she knows people that would gladly pasture him. She wants the overpriced amount she charges for board. If you are looking to board your horse their are more facilities than advertised. They don't need to advertise. Ask any equine vet and they can point you in the right direction. There are plenty of places with turnout and indoor arena's who charge less than here. read more
