Wow! Learned about this place at the last minute and was able to snag a reservation for that evening. So glad that we did. Had a cocktail and their delicious lemon poundcake. The atmosphere was amazing as well as the service. Will definitely return and enjoy dinner at some future point. I just can't comment enough about how spectacular the space is. If it weren't raining, we would've sat outside, but fortunately, due to the rain, they moved our table inside. Top notch and I highly recommend.

My review is only for the restaurant as I did not stay here and I also never ventured inside. My friends and I came here recently and enjoyed a decadent dinner with fancy cocktails. We sat on their lovely outdoor patio and enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere and the fantastic service. I elected to try one of their featured cocktails and it was really good. I also dined on the Gulf Fish entree and it was an absolute delight. I look forward to returning soon with my significant other.

We came on the street car for an afternoon drink, and this was the perfect place and atmosphere to do so! We wanted a break from the St. Charles street car, so we stopped at the Columns Hotel because it looked so beautiful on the outside. Right when we walked into the patio area, we were greeted and were offered to sit inside or outside on the patio. Because of the beautiful day we decided to sit outside. The patio is very nice and has nice tables, chairs and umbrellas. I felt like we were in our own oasis with the trees everywhere and a courtyard like vibe. We just wanted drinks so I got the Tommy's margarita and my friend got rose. The margarita was ok, nothing special, and my friend had to keep sending her glass back because there was cork residue in her wine. She had to do this twice. Service was decent too. After drinks, we explored inside. It is just as beautiful inside as it is outside. The bar inside is so intimate and cozy. There were different rooms with one being a coffee shop. I really felt that I was in a New Orleans mansion. This was the perfect place to take a break and get a drink!

I went to The Columns after seeing an Instagram post about their beautiful patio! I had a reservation but on a Sunday afternoon, they were not too busy. In person, the lovely patio views did not disappoint! Even better, was the food and drink. Our server Shanda recommended the Lavender Cold Press to drink and it was absolutely amazing! It was like a floral and fruity martini espresso. It had japanese whisey, honey, coffee, falernum, banana liqueur, & lavender. It was so smooth. For food I ordered a breakfast sandwich just thinking it was something that would fill me up, but it was so tasty! It featured scrambled eggs, bacon, house aioli, american cheese, pepper marmalade. Everything was cooked to perfection, sweet, savory and the bacon was thick! The inside of the hotel was gorgeous! I loved the stained glass seating booth! If you're in the Garden District, def stop here for great food, drinks and immaculate views!

Beautiful place to stop in for a quick cocktail! The interior is amazing! We would recommend coming here and sitting on patio too!

Columns is a gorgeous hotel located in the Garden District. I did not stay in the hotel but popped over to the restaurant for lunch. It was pretty empty and quiet. I opted to sit inside by the car but they have outdoor seating. I had their apple salad and cheese plate. I also had a drink, the St Charles 75. Everything was delicious! The cheese plate had an interesting floral cheese with flower petals in it. The St Charles 75 was perfect. Service was friendly and attentive. The venue is really just so stunning. They had a bathroom next to the bar that was also beautiful! Unsure if there's ADA accessible entrances. The main entrance to the hotel has several stairs.

I am definitely adding Columns to my list of "must go to bars" when I'm in NO!!! My girlfriends and I stopped in for a drink on our streetcar bar crawl and this spot was amazing. The decor and inside was historic. We were greeted very warmly and immediately seated. Our waiter brought us some drinks and the party continued! We had a good time here!

Columns is an amazing place if you are looking to dine outside and enjoy the New Orleans weather. Best in the spring and late summer before it gets too hot or too cold to sit outside. Had reservations for the restaurant and was seated immediately which is always nice. Got an amazing seat in the greenery by a fire pit which was a nice addition. The view of the building and St Charles with the streetcar is what makes this place special as well as the amazingly decorated interior and exterior. The food here is good but in my opinion nothing to die for. An $18 cheeseburger is steep, and while definitely a good burger, it better be astounding for that price point. In addition I order the chopped salad which was also good, but again a $17 salad is steep for something I could have made at home honestly. Not a knock on the food because it was still great, just pricey, but I guess that comes with the venue. Definitely more of a place for the vibes than the level of cuisine but still a must in NOLA!

We stopped by The Columns for some quick birthday drinks, and they absolutely delivered. The whole place is seriously Insta-worthy--from the beautiful historic details to the cozy, elegant setup. Total photo opps everywhere. They were so sweet to us--gave our group a comfy sofa setup and even brought out champagne to celebrate the birthday girl. Such a thoughtful touch! We ended up spending a lot of time at the bar (because obviously), and let me just say--that espresso on tap is everything. I'm still thinking about the espresso martini--it's easily one of my all-time faves now. My friend couldn't stop raving about her Pimm's Cup, too. The bartenders and even the manager were absolute dolls. So friendly, fun, and somehow always there right when we needed something. We were never thirsty--ever. Can't wait to go back!

Reviewing just the bar (and the atmosphere overall). Whenever we come to NOLA, we make sure to drop in for a cocktail - in great weather it's lovely to sit on the front porch, but the bar is great as well. Service is always good as are the cocktails. Easy to get to on the St. Charles streetcar.

This place was always a bucket list

Great atmosphere and beautiful inside. Worth using the bathrooms inside. Seems haunted.

The duck is amazing. Happy hour is great and I love the ambience. I will definitely come back to visit!

Cocktail on the porch in the rain was wonderful. The inside is equally as beautiful as the outside. We only visited for the porch drink however I could have lingered here all day!

Is your patio seating covered / do you have umbrellas? Wondering if it'd be too hot for outdoor seating in June...

Do you need to make reservations to just enjoy a Sazerac or three on the porch or patio without dining?

Good morning. You do not need to make a reservation for our patio. We do recommend making a reservation for our porch. This can be done via Resy.

Is your Happy Hour still around?

If you are not a guest, are you allowed access to the balcony for drinks/dining or are you limited to the porch and brick patio?

Unfortunately the second floor is only for hotel guests and those looking to do a private event.

Can we stop by and grab drinks from the bar and sit on the porch if we do not plan to dine here?

    Yes! Absolutely!

One of my favorite moments was chatting with a gentleman in the lobby who helped with our luggage. We mentioned we were visiting from Pennsylvania, and he shared that his very first job was in Pennsylvania and actually knew our area. It was one of those authentic conversations that makes you feel more like a guest than just another room number. Our room in the older section was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Housekeeping and the nightly turndown service were exceptional. We also spent plenty of time at the pool, where the staff and bartender were fantastic. The drinks were great, the food hit the spot, and the Fourth of July pop-up DJ made for a really fun afternoon. The service was so personal that one of the bartenders recognized us by name when we ran into her on the street a few days later. The only miss during our stay was the famous Carousel Bar. We never managed to get seats at the actual carousel during our four nights--which is understandable given how popular it is and being the 4th of July weekend. We did sit just behind it. Unfortunately, the service there was noticeably unfriendly and felt completely out of step with the incredible hospitality we experienced everywhere else in the hotel. That one experience wasn't enough to overshadow an otherwise outstanding stay. Between the beautiful historic décor, unbeatable French Quarter location, easy access to everything, and a staff that truly cares about its guests, Hotel Monteleone absolutely lived up to the hype. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

However, something we couldn't ignore while using the bathroom in the middle of our first night, was that we found we weren't alone. Front desk staff was AWESOME, so kind and quick to help us. However, after we asked to cancel our stay and went back up to the room to get our bags and leave, one of the hotel housekeepers decided to come up to our room and "confront us". The 2 things I care most about when staying in a hotel is a comfortable night's rest and a good bathroom/shower. The bed in our room was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on in my entire life. It was so mushy that when you laid your head down, you sunk so far into it that your legs were literally 45 degrees above your head. I ended up sleeping upside down in the bed with my head where your feet go in order to feel even remotely comfortable. The pillows were all extremely flat, when you put your head on one it sank so far your face was about 1/2 inch from the mattress. I had to use 3 pillows stacked on each other. I had a stiff back, neck and joints the entire time we were there. The 2nd issue was hot water. The first morning, we attempted to shower, it only got barely luke warm for me and when my husband showered immediately after he only got ice cold water. We stopped at the front desk that morning on our way out for the day and told the woman at the front desk. She said she hadn't received any other complaints so it must be specific to our room and she would send engineering there to look at it. (we were getting hot water in the sink). Later that evening when we returned to our room, we immediately tested the shower again and it was still ice cold. So we went back to the front desk to check if engineering had come. We spoke to the same woman from the morning who acted like it was the first time we were telling her this and she said the exact same thing. I asked if they were going to come ASAP because we needed to shower soon and we couldn't take ice cold showers. She ignored my question and answered the ringing phone. A manager happened to be at the desk and overheard our conversation. He asked what our room number was and said that because of the old building and the pipes the hot water takes longer to get there. He said this was a KNOWN Issue by the staff, management and the owner. He told us to run the shower for AT LEAST 15 to 20 minutes, simultaneously with the sink and it should get hot. He also offered to move us to a different room but when I asked if he could guarantee if we wouldn't have the same problem in that room he couldn't give me a straight answer. We had already unpacked everything and didn't want to go through that hassle without a guarantee. So we went back to the room and let it run for 20 minutes and it eventually got hot. So for the remaining 3 mornings, we had to set our alarms for 30 minutes earlier so we could get up and run our shower before hand. For nearly $300 a night, we felt that this was ridiculous. Old building or not, if its a problem, then either don't put people in those rooms, or get it fixed somehow. Why should anyone be subjected to an ice old shower or an inconvenience to their time because the owner hasn't done anything about it? We visited the hotel Bar, the Bourbon O'bar 3 times during our stay and each time we received TERRIBLE service. None of the bartenders were friendly to us, in fact they were pretty rude. Each time it took them at least 10 minutes to even take our order (by standing there and looking at us and not saying anything). The bar was not busy or crowded any of these times. They would then start making one of our drinks, put it down and make other people's drinks, leave and go into a back room, play on their cell phone, talk to each other, or carry the glass around while doing other things. My husband ordered an old fashioned and the alcohol was sitting in the jar with the ice for over 5 minutes while the bartender carried it around doing other things, causing it to get watered down. When making a cocktail, it should be completed from start to finish without doing other things in the middle. I ordered the Mardi Drop cocktail on 2 different days. The first time, it was actually very good. The 2nd time from a different bartender it was horrible .He also sprinkled probably a tablespoon of cinnamon on top of it (which the first didn't have) which made it nearly undrinkable. I had to stir it into the martini in order to not get a mouthful of cinnamon with each sip. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant Roux because of the bad Yelp reviews - we felt we could get a better breakfast elsewhere outside the hotel. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all unless you don't care about being comfortable or friendly service.

Just be prepared for the wall of noise if you're staying on a Friday and Saturday night and have a room facing Bourbon Street; you will need more than the sound machine and earplugs the hotel provides you. But if you're there to party hard on Bourbon Street at all the touristy bars, then you will be in your element. Depending on the side of the hotel you select when booking your room and the days you choose, you may be able to get away with just a sound machine and earplugs, or you may be getting too old and need to look elsewhere. If you stay on the courtyard side, you should have enough barriers to deflect the nonstop barrage of noise coming from all the bars and clubs on Bourbon Street, especially between Bienville and St. Ann, on a Friday and Saturday night particularly. We had a room on the third floor with a balcony overlooking Bourbon Street that gave us a great view and the opportunity to enjoy wine and cocktails as the festivities picked up steam throughout the afternoons of our stay. The bed was wicked comfortable. The set of drawers had plenty of space to put clothes with a small fridge for keeping drinks cool and leftovers from spoiling. The closet space was ample and was able to fit all of our hang-up clothing and our suitcases. There was a nice lounge chair next to the desk to chill if you didn't want to sit on the balcony. However, the bathroom was cramped and narrow with these weird double doors that could cause trouble if you are going to do business in the middle of the night. The water pressure wasn't great either and if you don't have the curtain positioned right then you're going to have a puddle. Housekeeping did come by to change our linens and provide fresh towels every day, which was appreciated. The front desk was very affable and accommodating, especially with holding out luggage when our room wasn't quite ready yet to check-in. And I liked that there was a security person checking people that were actually staying at the hotel to avoid stragglers, random drunks, and transients from entering. I didn't have the chance to use the pool while I was there, but we were busy walking around the French Quarter to really care. Same went with having anything in the restaurant for food. They did have the little mini mart on the ground floor that worked for when we needed more bottles of water that were larger than the complimentary ones.
