One trade secret he shared was never using simple syrup and replacing only with organic agaves. Tia his bar back came to entertain while we were enjoying our drinks (Paloma and sazerac) again untraditional in an extremely good way. Tia and Tommy are joy to talk with and made our experience memorable. To top the night Chef Nicole brought out special gluten free peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to accommodate me. The first time I walked by and saw the chandler I had to go in and see this lobby. I thought to myself that this was a place that if you had to ask what it cost to stay here you couldn't afford it. But I was wrong and it is very affordable! In those days it was filled with stunning antiques, the bar was drop dead gorgeous, and the rooftop pool was so much fun. Then it closed, was purchased by Marriott, and made to look like any other middle of the road hotel. Gone are the antiques, the bar that came from Paris and the rooftop pool. The bar is all red velvet walls, the pool leaks so they walled it off along with the fitness center. Rooms are blah. Lobby is boring. They did keep some paintings which they hung upside down because that's what they did to the hotel. I wasted 5 nights of upgrades. The only thing upgraded in our room was a air purifier in the corner! What a disappointment that was. As was the entire experience of staying here. It's not a Grand Dame anymore. I won't be back.

There were at least 15 football length lanes winding up and down the area leading to security. We missed our very coveted "A" boarding group. Thankfully we did make it but would love others to avoid that unnecessary discomfort. When traveling to New Orleans - please do yourself a favor and choose Maison Perrier. Downstairs was a living area, full bathroom, kitchenette that was well appointed. The Loft area had a king bed (comfortable, nice pillows), small closet and half bath. I have only two "complaints"...additional lighting in the Loft and a proper headboard for the bed. I did hit my head twice on the shelf trim behind the bed (admittedly my fault but it could be great for accident prone people like me).
