Charming hallway to entrance

I'd rate 85% Great B&B! My gf and I had the chance to visit this bed & breakfast recently. It's a wonderful house built in the late 19th century with a good mix of classic and tasteful modern touches. Rooms are furnished pretty well, and the common areas are a great place to relax over breakfast or the end of the day. There's always complementary cakes, tea, coffee around. Most drinks are very reasonably priced from a few dollars. The innkeepers are very nice and go out of their way to help you with your travel plans. The service here is great. The surrounding area is a residential neighborhood that's pretty low key, relaxing, and has a lot of cool houses. It's close to St Charles Street, which is great for walks. There is also a good number of cafes and restaurants within a mile of so. I did not expect this, but was pleasantly surprised. It isn't close to the French quarter, but it's close to the tram stops on St Charles Street, which should take approx 15-20 mins to get there, or around $10 in cab fare. Parking is also plentiful in the area. Only thing I didn't care for was the thermostat in common areas. We arrived during late December, and other guests often turned up the heater very high. This made it difficult for us to sleep at times, or woke us up in the middle of the night in uncomfortable 90 degree heat. Also, the rooms can be a bit thin. We had Darth Vader in the room next to us when we stayed, and he kept us up with some extraordinarily heavy breathing. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Recommended.

Paint in the room was chipping, mattress was stained, but overall these were things we could ignore. However, something we couldn't ignore while using the bathroom in the middle of our first night, was that we found we weren't alone. There were 3+ cockroaches hanging out near the tub and a few scurried away before we could kill/photograph them. The next morning we went to the front desk, got our refund and switched hotels. Front desk staff was AWESOME, so kind and quick to help us. However, after we asked to cancel our stay and went back up to the room to get our bags and leave, one of the hotel housekeepers decided to come up to our room and "confront us". She wanted us to show her the cockroaches (that we had killed and flushed) and tried telling us she's never seen a cockroach at Hotel Le Marais before, basically calling us liars. Lol, well, here's some pictures to prove it. Let's ask the audience. Positives: The front desk staff was exceptional. Very helpful, very kind and knowledgeable. It's located close to Bourbon and has a nice courtyard. Negatives: ROACHES IN THE ROOMS, confrontational housekeeper, thin walls.

It was the weekend of my bachelor party and we ran into the manager's shift and she got us all started with some pretty good drinks. It was there that my friend got me a pretty well made Manhattan that i would definitely have again when I go back. For the rest of the long weekend including being out by the pool, both Isaias and Camryn looked after all of our drinking needs. She made a good vodka cranberry and margaritas and Isaias looked after bringing them to us when we hit the pool in the mornings. They were the first people we saw in the mornings for a drink and they never had any pressure from us. We nine guys kept things simple watching sports while waiting for the remainder of the group to come down. On Sunday when the World Cup Final pre-show was on, they got us drinks before we all headed to the airport. Camryn and Isaias were an awesome team at the hotel bar and I hope they are well and getting plenty of good tips. Thanks for a very fun and enjoyable weekend.

It's in a great location in the heart of the French Quarter. The lobby is quite ornate with lots of seating, a water station with plain ice water and cucumber ice water, and a coffee station just off the lobby. There's a nice pool and the bartender came by regularly to take drink orders. We got two rooms for a one week stay. We had a Deluxe King overlooking the street and other family members stayed in a Grande Two Queens room overlooking the pool. Noise from the street and hallway both can be quite loud, so ear plugs are a must, especially if you're on the 2nd floor as we were. The first floor bar can get very loud and we were right over it. Our king bed was too soft and sagged on sides where people have slept most. Pillows are way too big so I used a rolled up towel as a neck pillow instead. The TV is big but not a smart TV so we couldn't sign into streaming services. WiFi is free and strong. There is no comfortable chair in either room. Small loveseat at the foot of our bed is uncomfortable and too close to the tv to use. Other room had a better sofa an appropriate distance from the tv. We have a small end table but no large table or desk. Coffee maker and fridge in the rooms but no microwave. Everything feels very clean. Our closet door was stuck and wouldn't slide closed, making it difficult to access the safe on the other side. Same in second room. What are the odds? Bathroom makeup mirror light doesn't turn on. Same in the second room. Guess the odds are good. In our bathroom the very loud exhaust fan turns on randomly all day and night. Second room exhaust fan doesn't work - switch was broken off, so they didn't have that annoyance. Not many outlets in the room, not enough conveniently placed, and some were old and loose, so an apple charger was too heavy to stay plugged in. Lots of lovely design elements from old architecture throughout the hotel that you don't see in newer buildings, like the large half circle window in our room. Our window shutters don't close completely so the room is bright all night long from street lights A great shower with a double shower head and water comes out both at the same time. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower. Towels are soft. We tried to eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant, but the sign says to wait to be seated so we stood there with lots of empty tables visible and servers visible, but they ignored us and the other people waiting. Eventually we all left and got breakfast elsewhere. This place is clean, historic, and in the perfect location. It's too bad they're not maintaining the rooms better for guest comfort. With the right management, they could easily turn this into a five star hotel. Such a pity.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this was one of the most comfortable and quietest rooms of any hotel I've stayed in. I arrived hours before check in on a Sunday and was told my room wasn't ready but they would text me when it became available. I easily stowed my luggage and headed out for a delightful lunch at Mambo's down the street. It was no time before I got a text and headed back to check in. The lobby was very pretty and secure with nice restrooms located down the hall, a beautiful bar area and courtyard swimming pool. My room, 221, was clean and spacious for my stay with a beautiful view of the courtyard and pool. The pool got busy during the day, but the noise level was moderate and it closed at 10 PM which prevented any late-night pool noise. The bed was very comfortable, the shades kept the room darkened for sleep and I heard absolutely no noise from Bourbon Street. The housekeeping staff were always friendly and the front desk and concierge the same. Always ready to help, offer suggestions or just smile and greet you as you came and went. The little market inside was stocked with water, sodas, snacks and beer if I wanted a little snack or late-night treat. When leaving, I had to stow my luggage for the day, and they were happy to do that for me at check out. Great experience here. Definitely will keep this hotel in mind for when I visit NOLA again.

The Davenport Lounge features excellent, easy, accomplished jazz courtesy of Jeremy Davenport and his quartet most (but not all) evenings. The food in the restaurant is excellent (as is the service), and staff throughout the venue and spa are top notch - friendly, courteous, uniformly professional. One of the great things is location - it is a very short walk to the crazy of the French Quarter, but a block away - so you have the safety, privacy, and isolation from the party when you need it, you aren't confronted by it as soon as you walk out the door of the hotel, but you are just a short walk around the corner to everything the Quarter and Bourbon Street have to offer. As an historic building, the architecture and aesthetic is much closer to "elegant old New Orleans" than, say, the Four Seasons (very very modern, almost cold presentation) or, for example, the Royal Sonesta which is smack dab in the middle of the crazy. When we come back to NOLA, it will be to the Ritz Carlton.

This is the first Ritz Carlton we have been to that we left without ever feeling like wow I love it…read morehere.. and it had nothing to do with the city (cannot wait to return to Nola) and everything to do with the inconsistency in customer service. First, I had notated on our reservation that we were there for my husbands birthday, upon check in we received a quick "happy birthday" after my husband stated we were there for his day. Our room wasn't ready yet, no problem, we returned when it was and while getting the keys we overheard a small group next to us being told they'd get a special surprise for their birthday. The employee who told the group that was the same lady that initially checked us in, she saw we overheard and at that point offered my husband a gift from the little store. That was nice, and that was it for the remainder of our stay. Our executive suite was nice, smelled a bit wet/mildew upon first entering but it either went away or I got used to it. The rooms can definitely use some small updates like refreshing the grout; cleaning the couch; adding the shampoo/conditioner/wash to the shower rather than on the separate bathtubs ledge. After unpacking we went down to Davenport lounge and sat at the bar. Frankie was the bartender and the reason we didn't want to try anything else in the hotel. I ordered a cocktail with vsop, he poured VS in his shaker, when I got his attention and told him he said "it is vsop", I said no it is not.. and instead of double checking the bottle he just returned to one of the back shelves of the liquor bottles, instead of acknowledging or apologizing for the mix up, he just poured the vs down the sink and said "let me see if we have it". He walked to the back room and came back swiftly with the correct liquor and proceeded to make my drink. His behavior in this situation really caught me by surprise because I have never encountered such a negative experience at a Ritz location. I did text my experience to the staff and got a cookie cutter apology, not even making me feel like the situation would be brought to Frankie's attention. On our second evening there we were walking back in through the doors on canal street, there was one attendant on each side of the doors, the gentleman on the right was pleasant and said welcome back, while the female on the other side seemed bothered to be at work and was tapping her fingernails on the door handle as she held it open for us. That was rather unwelcoming and just unprofessional. Anyhow, the location is perfect if you're looking to be very close to all the action of the city and the building itself is very nice. We encountered the friendliest staff in valet, I wish I got the name of the First Gentleman we encountered as he deserves praise for his excellent service and can teach some of his fellow employees a thing or two. I have been in love with the Ritz Carlton for a while now from experiences at other locations but I can say that after this visit I will book my next Nola stay at the Four Seasons (where I felt welcomed and valued when stopping in for a round at their lounge).
