    The River Suite

We were so enamored by our whole stay at this gorgeous B&B. Even before we arrived we were excited with the place, because you get a super handy text with all the information you need to access the front gate, your room, the wifi, the kitchen and the theater. So useful! Every part of Fleur de Lis is gorgeously decorated with tons of style and attention to detail! The Grand Kitchen where you have breakfast and the nightly (complementary) wine happy hour is refined and beautiful (and when we stayed was colorfully decorated for a combination of Easter and Mardi Gras). The Mansion itself has a very cosy feel and the small number of rooms combined with the thickness of all of the greenery surrounding the place makes you feel like you've retreated into your own hidden slice of paradise! We stayed in the River Suite, and I have to say, besides the rustic chic of the decor in the room itself (not to mention the whirlpool tub and three headed shower!) the best part of the whole experience was our bed. It was seriously the most comfortable bed we had ever slept in, and even after some late nights downtown, we awoke feeling refreshed and well rested every morning of our three night stay. We will never stay anyplace else in New Orleans!

No amount of pictures will ever do this place justice!!! Holy MOLY! How stunning! My boyfriend and I travel for a living, so we've been to a lot of places and stayed in a ton of hotels and B&Bs, both in the US and overseas. This place, we will remember forever. When check in time arrived, we received a text message from the property with the code to get in the gate, codes for our room, dining room, etc. The text also had Wi-Fi codes and other useful info. Very efficient. We stayed in the Royal Suite, which features a private balcony with two rocking chairs, a small table and chair breakfast nook, and our own private huge stainless steel grill! You access the balcony, like you enter the house, through MASSIVE floor to ceiling windows, that pull up and you walk through them! So neat! There's also an OUTDOOR SHOWER, just outside the from door to the suite! Open air. For real! The room itself is much bigger than it seems in the pictures. The bed is SUPER comfy, there is this MASSIVE couch with equally MASSIVE ottoman. There's a huge stainless steel, side by side fridge and freezer, tucked behind a door, and if that isn't enough refrigeration, there's a mini fridge as well. There's also a microwave, an a/c, a fan, a humidifier, an alarm clock, a sleep machine, and what they DON'T tell you anywhere is that this room has a HUGE projection screen that pulls down as your tv!! So cool! They also have surround sound, cable with every channel imaginable, and every premium channel on demand. Amazing. The decor is rustic, beautiful, lush, and still yet, downright cozy. If it's not enough that you have your own whirlpool tub in the room, (yeah you do!), why not go downstairs to the garden backyard and relax in one of the TWO hot tubs?!?!? The backyard outdoor "common area" has a hot tub, huge patio grill area with fridge, freezer, ice maker, refreshments, lots of cute seating areas, decorative decorative flower beds in old claw foot bath tubs, ya know, the standard. Now if that's not enough, walk back beyond that, past the indoor theater with leather sofas and massage chair, and head into the back room with the indoor hot tub and fridge refreshment station. Now, don't forget about the BEAUTIFUL reception area that is the plush dining room, in our case, fabulously decorated for Christmas, even including a full size Christmas tree. Next to that is the Grand Kitchen, and boy is it! They have serve yourself wine from 5-7 ish, which did also include vodka, mixers and even a couple of beer and ciders. All complimentary. Thank you, we will! I'm the morning they serve breakfast, for that second "B" of the "& B." Haven't had it yet, but I feel certain it'll be stellar too. So, basically, I'm never leaving. I live here now. The end.

celebrating the hubbie's birthday @ the Fleur De Lis Mansion

I surprised my husband for his birthday with a one night stay @ the Fleur De Lis Mansion and it was AMAZING!! We stayed in the white room and fell in love with not only our room but the entire mansion. Their attention to detail shows that they thought of everything and have executed it perfectly. Let me add that Lisa was very nice, helpful, welcoming and professional! We are locals but will definitely have more visits to the mansion and absolutely spread the word about this hideaway in the city.

    Romance package in Royal Suite

The worst part about my stay was it was only one night!!! The entire experience was amazing, between booking online and the late check in (due to flight delays). My boyfriend and I stayed in the Royal Suite with the additional "Romance Package" room enhancement to celebrate our anniversary. As soon we stepped onto the grounds of Fleur de Lis it was breathtaking (even though it was around 8pm and dark outside!). Whenever I visit New Orleans again, a stay here is a must! Recommend to all!!

Added brace for shower- didn't even bother to put in minimal effort to paint it white to match rest of room.

The response I received from management to my initial review did not really address any issues depicted in the pictures I posted, instead I got a snide comment about people who usually stay in the Hollywood bungalow room do because they can't afford the bigger, nicer rooms, essentially. I actually chose the room because it looked like fun. This is such a tacky way to diffuse responsibility for the obvious problems the Hollywood Bungalow room has. Changing the mattress, and acknowledging the fact that the room has a mildew smell isn't going to make a difference, sorry to say. But if you want me to use the managements words against them, then I guess you get what you paid for, right? (Unless you paid the price for a boutique bed and breakfast experience). Please take responsibility for the quality of the room and stop trying to place blame on your guests, like maybe if I was willing to pay more I could have gotten a better room. You know what the room looks like and what's wrong with it- fix it.

Fun walkways with something to see at every turn.

Since she was finishing her journey near New Orleans, we chose Lanaux as the place to not only stay but hold our celebration dinner, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The accommodations were GORGEOUS and right in the heart of the New Orleans action. They also hosted our celebration dinner, and the service and food was extraordinary. We were all blown away by their hospitality, and we couldn't recommend Lanaux Mansion enough! :)

Location is unbeatable and the house feels built to hold exactly what we needed. Each room has it's own bathroom and the outdoor space is so beautiful and welcoming. The kitchen is PERFECT for cooking and hosting and our wedding week would not have been nearly as seamless had we not found this place. Will 100% stay here again and again.

I had made the reservation months in advance, but the B&B was going through some technical problems with their system, so the booking process was slightly confusing. John, the owner, e-mailed me to clear things up and put us on a list for a free room upgrade. Fast -forward to our arrival. I really wasn't expecting the upgrade, but we got it! This meant that we stayed in the suite on the first floor--a beautiful bedroom and living room separated by pocket doors. It was basically like staying in our own apartment, especially since our room was right next to the kitchen. (One caveat: If you like to sleep late, this might not be the room for you since you can hear the kitchen noise in the morning starting around 8 or so. It didn't bother us since we were generally up by then anyway.) John is an amazing host and cook. We're talking real breakfasts here; not just a quick continental thing. My boyfriend and I had a great time chatting with him in the mornings. As for the location, it's right on the edge of the French Quarter, so it's within easy walking distance of a lot of points of interest but is far enough from the crazy that you don't have to worry about drunk people screaming and puking outside your window. Parking can be tricky (street parking), so you're probably better off without a car. After our experience here, I would never stay anywhere else in NOLA!

We visited Splendor farms as a last second get away for a Saturday evening. I called Saturday…read moremorning to see about a vacancy that evening. Kelly, the owner, answered and was polite and prompt about getting back to me about an opening that evening. We heading out, and arrived around 4:15. The farm was easy to find, about 30 minutes from the Covington exit off of I-12. It was quickly evident that the farm was a working farm and that friendly dogs were present. However, although the farm was not super manicured and landscaped, it was laid out very well and clean. There was a kennel close to the house which housed alot of eager to let you know they were there puppies. Kelly quickly showed us around, and let us know to review the welcome packet, as it had important information. She showed us the dining room, with its games, coffee and beautiful table. We were next shown our room, the Ponderosa room, which had a microwave, and mini fridge on its screened in porch. The room was beautiful, exuded warmth and the decor was on theme. After reviewing the rules we explored. There is a saltwater pool (closed for the season), a hot tub (that we unfortunately didn't enjoy, no bathing suits) and a fire pit (which we later heavily enjoyed) all close to the house and the rooms. The farm has a gorgeous white pony, 2 burros (one was pregnant), a few goats, chicken, and 2 super fluffy bunnies. We followed the rules as we explored, ie if you open a gate close it. We were escorted by 2 super old and friendly farm dogs, and encountered multiple super sweet farm cats. The fields were a bit muddy, but it had obviously rained a few days before. We only explored one field with horses, but they were super sweet and the fields were well cared for. We went to the local Hog Heaven for BBQ (highly recommend, 15 minutes away, huge portions, delicious). After dinner we headed back and enjoyed the fire pit. We turned in early, because the bed was soooo comfortable. Unfortunately, the temperature dropped super quickly overnight, but it was on the forecast. Breakfast in the dining room the next morning was delicious, the french toast was perfect and the huervos rancheros was authentic. We decided to opt out of the trail ride the following morning because we hadn't packed for the rain (silly us). Kelly however offered coats and gloves, which was a kind gesture and really appreciated. We will definitely be back in the summer and better prepared. A few things to remember about this place, there is a kennel on site as Kelly is a dog breeder, so there is barking and some smell. However, Kelly provided ear plugs in the rooms for the barking and its outside, so the smell isn't terrible. Another thing to note is as this is a small business. check or cash is preferred, since credit card companies charge that nasty transaction fee to businesses, but Kelly will take credit cards if necessary. Additionally, Kelly teaches lessons, does camp, and trails rides, so she knows her horses. Just like any horse person I've encountered over the years, Kelly has a no nonsense attitude about her place. However, she manages to be clear about her farm and the rules while being warm and friendly. This is obviously what she is born to do and she is amazing at it. We will be visiting again, multiple times and with family!

She sent a SIDE profile pic, of his ONE blue eye and said he had blue EYES. PLURAL. Never got a picture of him face on. Upon arrival we were shocked to see he only had ONE blue eye and the other BROWN. We drove all the way from Texas!!! After looking back at the pictures she sent us, it's clear it was intentional the way she placed him in the photos. Love my boy dogs but will never buy from her again. Kelly, They are BEAUTIFUL dogs, I'll give you that. But beyond that...a little shady and never sat right with me after all these years.
