Front and back porches to chill on as well as several garden/outdoor seating areas. They provide lotion in your room and more in the bathroom. Also a jar of Cotton balls and Qtips. The breakfast everyday was amazing. Staff, super nice. And tea! Great assortment of teabags. And they have signs everywhere "Quite between 9pm-9am" which I love because i like to sleep. It's walking distance to several great establishments like Mandina's restaurant and Finn McCools bar. I don't think you could find a better location. I stayed for five days and will stay there again. Highly, highly recommend.

We came for a special birthday weekend and we're so impressed. The amazing food each morning was outstanding enough, but they made a point to surprise me with a lovely champagne toast (complete with glitter) and hummingbird coffee cake topped with a candle! Every morning was another fun surprise as several guests were celebrating. The food was delicious and what a special way to dine with fellow travelers and make new friends in their historic dining room. The outdoor gardens are beautiful and inspiring and we loved exploring them, and enjoying the landscape. It was too hot to enjoy the on site hot tub but it was a nice amenity to have. Only things were the lack of AC in our garden level room made it tough even with fans. And the bed was so tall this super short gal had a hard time and could have used one of those nice wooden stools bedside. Minor - this place was seriously AMAZING and if we ever go back it's exactly where we'd stay! Julia even came out to the trolley stop one day just to give us an umbrella because she was worried about us in the sun. That's the level of care and personal attention they give. Thank you, thank you for the memories and this special place! There is a special feeling of joy and hospitality you've created here. I feel blessed to have crossed the path of the staff of Canal Street Inn and will carry you and the experience with me. May we all aspire to be as lovely as this corner of the world.

It's far enough away that you can get a decent night's sleep (once you get used to the traffic and thin walls of am old house). It has charm, feels safe due to the fenced-in yard, and the southern hospitality your expect in these parts. Patrick was communicative before we arrived, ensuring he was aware when we would check in and offering to accommodate an early check in if available. Karma was wonderful, as well! We missed our first breakfast due to having a swamp tour. We were at to meet our bus for that at the time breakfast starts. I let Patrick know in advance and he said to remind them the day before, which happened to be our check in day. He said they could do eh sandwiches or something if we were OK with that. We agreed those sounded perfect - warm and portable on a chilly February morning. Karma had them ready for us in a little carry out bag, along with a couple surprises: warm banana bread slices, a fresh fruit cup (which was a perfect snack on the bus back from the swamp), some Sunny D, and some waters. It was all quite thoughtful and very tasty! The next morning we enjoyed praline French toast casserole, which was delicious but I couldn't finish it! (Another individual was having scrambled eggs and dry toast so they can accommodate if you opt out of the breakfast of the day) Coffee, with and without chicory, was available. Tea was also available, which was nice in the cold evenings. Patrick offered tips on where to see parades for those in town for Mardi Gras, and tips on other sights as well. We'd certainly return!

It had a hot tub inside with a ton of different bubble settings. I really liked the effervescent salt that came as a packet to use with the tub. For breakfast, it was available anytime between certain hours. The breakfast came with the most amazing chicory coffee. It was honestly the best chicory coffee I have ever had. Food wise we had the Monte Cristo rolls. I really liked the jelly with the ham and cheese.

The breakfasts were delicious (seriously - bourbon bread pudding?! Yum!), coffee was strong and good, and the room was adequate. As a single traveler, I got the most budget-conscious room (McNair), which perfectly met my needs. One comfy bed, couch/daybed, desk, closet, bathroom. There were also a high-end brand shampoos/body gels to use. My one complaint was that there was not a tub drain stopper. However I'm sure they would have given me one had I asked. Regarding the location, yeah it's not in the French quarter, or downtown NOLA. However, the streetcar stops literally 1/2 a block from the B&B and costs only $1.25 to ride. Very easy and cheap, and comes every 15 minutes or so. To get from O'Malley to Bourbon St took about 20 minutes on the streetcar. Honestly, I appreciated staying a bit away from the bustle of an urban center. It felt very safe! Definitely a B&B - the owners sit and chat while you eat your breakfast. They were pleasant and conversational, and informative to a first time NOLA traveler. Overall, would stay again!!!

They are wonderful people who have cared for their property for 25 years, which eludes with authenticity, originality, and their passion for what they do. They made every effort to ensure our stay was perfect. With COVID restrictions they were unable to provide a cooked breakfast, but every other BnB's we looked into do not have breakfast at all. Rose Manor provided's breakfast, in abidance to COVID restrictions. Pastries, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, english muffins, jams/butter/honey, muffins, yogurt, fruit, and I couldn't get enough of the french coffee and a bunch of different teas to choose from for those tea-drinkers. You can sit at the dining room table and be lucky enough to have a good laugh with Peter, or sit outside, where you can wind-down at night under the bistro lights. Loved this! The rooms were cozy, clean and SO comfortable. They have a refrigerator and freezer which we loved because of all the local delicious food we couldn't leave behind. The walls are full of interesting art and pieces of history. There's couches to sit in the back room if you want to separate from your room for a bit. It's located in a safe town, Lakeview. It's a low crime area that apparently has their own police officers patrolling the area. We walked to the Marina from here, passing a few delicious looking restaurants we didn't have time to try, and never felt unsafe. It is of course not downtown, but that's what we prefer because parking in NOLA is outrageous, and its a 10-15 minute quick drive to downtown if you want to take your own car, or ~$15 Uber. They are the reason we prefer BnB's rather than wasting our time and money at big hotels. They're happy to give you information you couldn't get from staying elsewhere, like unique ways of getting around the city (at the corner of their block you can get a bus to take you to the end of canal st.), their stories living in NOLA, they are great company, and lovely people who are passionate about what they do. See you next time, and thank you for everything!

The B&B is located in the Garden District, away from the overly touristy French Quarter, in a much more relaxed and authentic neighborhood. It's a very walkable area, with lots of bars, restaurants and shops nearby. Parking on the street is also free, and we never had an issue finding a spot nearby. Our host, Ray, was wonderful. She coordinates your arrival to make sure she can check you in when you get there and give you a little tour and explain how all the keys work. She also provides small breakfast snacks in the morning. Her banana bread and cupcakes were delicious! The house itself has such an authentic feel to it, which we really appreciated. I do agree with others saying the bathroom being outside of the room on the top floor was a bit weird, but you don't share it with others so it's OK. There were plenty of towels provided, as well as soap, shampoo and conditioner. Inside of the room, there was water, orange juice, a mini fridge, a microwave, glasses, cups and cutlery. There were also AC units in the windows, so you can stay cool as it heats up outside. The one issue I personally had, is that I have a massive dust mite allergy that started acting up from the first night I spent in the room. It's an older house, so it is to be expected. The allergy only got worse as time went on and I had to take Zyrtec for the duration of our stay because my eyes and throat were very itchy and inflamed. If you suffer from the same allergy, either bring your meds or be prepared to deal with potential issues. Apart from the allergy issue, I highly recommend staying at the Garden District Bed & Breakfast because you won't find a more authentic NoLa experience than this!
