Not a fan of this location! This is the closest Los Tres Amigos location to me and I stopped going to this one altogether. The service isn't horrible, not great but not enough to really make the rating as low as it is. They usually are pretty attentive and get your order out in a timely manner. Ambiance isn't bad at this place either, bright and lively but I will say the bathrooms and floors could use more regular cleaning. Overall, my score is low because of the quality in how the food is prepared. I can go to the location in Holt and order the exact same thing and have it taste more fresh, hotter and have the presentation be better too. read more

As far as Mexican food in Mason goes, it's better than Taco Bell at least but I'd say you're better off going to City Limits for the limited Mexican food options they have. Better yet, make the short trip to Holt and go to the much higher quality Los Tres Amigos! The service here is usually pretty slow and mess ups are not uncommon whatsoever. The bathrooms are not taken care of whatsoever and there has been more than one occasion where there has been hair in my food. This was quite a while ago but I haven't been in quite a while so just watch what you're eating haha. Slow service and horrible experience. Husband and I ordered a drink and an entree. We waited for quite a while and while we got our drink, we still hadn't gotten our food but noticed the tables next to us that came after had gotten theirs. It was clear that our waitress forgot to put our order in. We had already been there so long we decided we would just finish our drinks and eat elsewhere. We got up to walk to the front to ask to have our bill and just pay with the front for our drinks so we could leave since our waitress never even came to check on us or help us after dropping our drinks off. As we were walking up to find/talk to someone about helping us out so we could pay and leave, our waitress decided she finally wanted to be present in the form of yelling "they are going to walk out without paying!" across the restaurant while pointing at us and creating a scene, throughly embarrassing me and giving me a panic attack as there was a lot of people just staring at me, thinking I was a criminal. Los Tres Amigos in Mason just scammed me! Took my $230 for a catering order, with no care to make things right. Order was placed on Grubhub for the wrong date. I called Los Tres (as the order confirmation email told me to do) and informed them that my order was not for today, but for 2 days later. The guy on the phone repeated the correct date three times. They then proceeded to make the food for today, charged my card & Grubhub picked it up and tried to deliver it to a place that was closed (cuz the order was for two days later). When I called Los Tres to ask why they still made the order the phone rang forever and I then got a weird verizon message. I had to call back 8 more times before someone answered. They then proceeded to give me the run around, acting like they did not know what I was talking about. I will never ever give my business to Tres Amigos. read more

I really wanted to be over joyed with this experience. Sadly, it was FAR from that. Sadly small portion of guacamole with the chips and guacamole I ordered. three chips took all of it. The Nachos Amigos was straight up gross. 1) it was about half of the portion size of ordered in the store 2) it was more like SOUP than nachos. I'm not convinced that whoever made it didn't ladle a whole scoop of chicken broth onto it. Not. A. Single. Crispy. Chip. And it's not like we waited a long time. We were consuming this 10 minutes after we picked it up. The dogs ate it. The fajitas didn't come with any tortillas or cheese? The meat/veggies were tasty, but WAY too many veggies to meat proportionally. I won't be back. We were at the restaurant on a Saturday at 5pm, they were not busy. Waited 40 minutes for our food. There were six of us but two were kids that only ordered beans and a cheese quesadilla. Our waiter never came to check on us except to bring us the bill. And refilled chips after they'd already sat empty for at least 15 minutes. My husbands burrito was cold by the time it arrived. I took our son there for dinner last evening, and we had Burrito Amigos and Big Burrito Amigos. Both were excellent. Service was also notable. I really like the food here....and they have an extensive menu with many authentic dishes as well basics like nachos, burritos, steak etc...The have fish and pork, mole sauce dishes. Mild to beyond spicy. Good in house chips and salsa. Prices are reasonable and the menu fun to explore and tempts one to try new or unusual dishes. Located right off my home towns downtown square where we like to shop before and after dining. They also have a full bar and good specials. My only complaint ...and it's not enough to stop me from returning. ..the waitstaff seems disinterested. ..or not happy to be there? I went here with a group of friends. I had a big burrito amigo. It was delicious! The service was almost flawless! The only thing is that our server brought out one of our drinks quite late, but it's okay we still had a great time. The restaurant was ok but the waitress was pretty rude you can tell she didnt want us to be there because of the way she talked to us and the way that she treated us. She kept arguing with me about my order and then brought out and with an attitude said there is only chicken and cheese on that. The food was good though. In fact, I'm up at 3am writing this review bc my tooth hurts so freaking bad from a STONE that was in my salsa. There was one other little one that my daughter bit into, as well. Now, I can't help to think that maybe someone put them in their on purpose.. bc I was a bit of a difficult customer to deal with on the phone. I ordered my husbands food and when I mentioned the (3) tacos for 5.00 (listed on their website that I checked minutes before) they informed me that they were actually now 7.99!?! What the crap is that? So, I said I needed to talk to my husband and call back. I called back and ended up still ordering one order of the tacos anyway. At the end, I asked how many salsas that would come with (we had the complimentary bag of chips/small salsa) but, anything after that you're charged for. The guy could tell I was confused and unhappy so he says that he will "just throw in" a second one for free and then I purchased a third small salsa. Well, seems to me that they "THREW IN" a couple of stones, as well! Seriously though. What the hell is it with these people being so damn CHEAP!? Every time we have gone there it's horrible service, first of all. And they get SOOO annoyed if u ask for more chips and/or salsa! Don't offer the chips and salsa then if ur gonna be pissed that we eat it!! Duh. Now, with that being said.. When I called to speak to someone (the first person that answered) I didn't even think to ask for a manager at that point cuz I was so upset. I just started bitchin'.. I told them that I wanted to know WHY there was a stone in my salsa. And this dude just played dumb.. made excuses.. talked to someone there with his hand over the phone.. and offered me absolutely NOTHING as compensation! So, I told him that they WOULD be refunding my money. He had an attitude like that just wasn't Gonna happen and got his manager. (Here I'm thinking, omg is this really happening!? I would never have even had to ask my boss permission to tell the customer to come back in and get their money back AND get them all new meals!) So, in comes the manager with the SAME story!! I had calmed a bit and started off by (what was about to happen and) apologizing for being so upset and rude but I really wanted to know why there was a rock in my salsa. U wouldn't freaking believe it! He had the nerve to tell me that there WAS NO stone in my salsa!! Haha. I'm pretty sure there WAS considering that I just; spit it out of my mouth, didn't finish dinner and called u to complain! I told him that "fine, I trust u. I believe u didn't do it on purpose then.." (I was giving him the benefit of the doubt here.) ".. but, regardless, it happened and now I may have to have a tooth repaired.." Still nothing.. no "sorry".. no offer to refund my money. So, then I told him that he WOULD be refunding my money.. well, that plan didn't jive with him, I guess. I had to get real mean then and let him know that yes, he would bc I have photos of it here and I'm about to start posting all over the Internet.. he THEN changed his mind about the refund! And if it's not on the card in 48 hours.. they are in some serious trouble. I may report them anyway but if it's not there, I will for sure be reporting this! So, after all that.. if u still decide to take ur chances and eat at the Mason Los Tres Amigos.. DO NOT PISS THEM OFF IN ANY WAY! That means: don't ask questions about the menu. don't ask for more salsa. don't ask for anything special. Bc if u do.. u might be the one laying in bed all night awake with pain, writing the next bad review and waiting to call the dentist for an emergency appointment in the moring! Los Tres Amigos is a Duffy family favorite. We have lunch or dinner here at least once a month and we have never had a bad experience. Whenever we have company in from out of town, we bring them to Los Tres. The wait staff is fantastic. Always friendly and accommodating. They keep the chips and salsa flowing until the food arrives. Building was cool, food was okay, waitress was terrible. It was a Sunday evening, and there were not many people in the place, but somehow we were there for almost 2 hours. Our waitress obviously forgot to put in our order seeing as two tables that came after us, got their food way before we did. Had to then hunt her down for silverware. And water. Then when it was time to pay our bill, she didn't come and grab it for about 15 minutes and then she disappeared and we had to hunt down our credit card, taking about another 15 minutes. All while our food was still sitting in front of us because no one cleared off the table. Would have this experience been different (almost better) had we had a different waitress? Probably. Special requests had to be made for napkins, silverware, water, and any attention at all. I recently ventured to this restaurant with my friends. We came on "taco night", where tacos are $.99 each. The only problem is that the deal only applies to hard shell tacos. I personally enjoy soft shell tacos, so I ordered soft shell anyways. Now on to the chips. They tasted stale and they hurt the roof of my mouth. If I'm being honest, I think they are very stingy with they're chips and salsa. You have to ask to get more, and even after that the take a long time to finally give it to you. The food came out decently fast, and it tasted pretty good actually. Overall, this restaurant has pretty good food, but the waiters/management is a hit or miss. read more

A nice place for lunch or dinner. I go during slow times so it's quiter and the service is more personal. I would call it more tex-mex than Mexican. I like to try something new each time I go. My latest most favorite is the mahi mahi. Large serving of fish covered in a white sauce with mushrooms spinach and shrimp. It's to die for.
