Their gas pumps always seemingly run out of register tape to print receipts. It's a problem! They also are one of the few places in the area that offer money orders and their Western Union machine is professedly always "down". It takes weeks to get it repaired and the feeling by the staff could be described as an underlying resentment bc they have to deal with it at all, but that's a staff-Western U in problem, not a customer problem. (It's a hot mess.) To be fair, the cashiers are usually very pleasant and helpful. The store regularly appears to be properly stocked. The layout is a bit of a maze of shelving, but not a big deal. The prices they offer for gas are comparable and reflective of other stations within the area. Store usually looks clean, although coffee area is sometimes messy but to be fair, that's naughty customers who don't pick up after themselves. The things I'd like to see fixed is the attitude/efficiency particularly of the money order machine-either fix it or stop advertising you have one and get rid of it. The other is the printer tape in the outside machines being constantly empty. I print the receipt for my record-keeping, so I prefer them printed outside for efficiency so I don't have to go in and stand in line for it to be printed out. Not many great gas stations in Mason and this one is second to last in my opinion. The service in here is pretty bad, very slow and lacking efficiency. There's times where you'll go in super late and they'll have a bunch of hot food available but you go during the day sometimes and it's like they didn't even prep anything. On top of that, they seem to have trouble stocking stuff like lids, cups, buns, trays, straws...basically anything you'd need to get a drink or hot dog or whatever you want from that area. Funny thing is they'll still put out hot dogs whether they have buns or not, they don't care if they go to waste, they'll probably just eat them later on when no one is looking. This place is also filthy, never seems to be clean and there's usually 2-3 workers standing around doing nothing. I don't know what needs to be done about this place but it needs to happen already. Been here many times. Usually dont have an issue. Today I had to deal with an older cashier lady who was extremely rude. It left me and my mom speechless. She was getting gas and buying me and her a drink. We place down our drinks to be scanned. Then she out loud calls me out saying I was a random person that just came up and threw the drink down on the counter expecting my mom (who she assumed wasnt actually with me I guess) to pay for it. We were stunned and uncomfortable. That doesn't happen often with us. We didn't know what to say but we were in a hurry. We paid and got out. I was embarrased. We came in the store together and caused no issues but after that I won't be back for a while. I don't want a Karen embarrassing me like I'm a deliquent for litterally no reason. I'm just a woman trying to help my mom with things she needs and I'd like to acceot the coffee she gives me in peace. She needs to be retrained. I forgot to check her name tag. She's at the Mason, MI location on day shift. She's an older heavy set woman. Didn't have much of a smile on her face either. Hopefully she can ve retrained. If I ever do come back and sge acts out again. I won't come back at all. read more

Brenda treated my newly 18 year old daughter (who was cashing in scratch off lotto tickets for the first time) like a moron and was a complete and total BITCH to her. Store is filthy, employees make you wait while they finish their cuss filled conversations, and obviously Brenda hates her job. Do better, Speedway. read more

This establishment had great customer service and some of the best food I have ever eaten. The speedway pizza is absolutely one of the greatest dishes I have ever eaten, and my girlfriend instantly agreed to marry me when I suggested we go on our date at this speedway. Her and I both loved the food more than each other, and agreed that the chicken was better than every other chicken. Unfortunately her and I broke up recently because of a fight over whether Morbius was good or not, but we both still frequently eat out at this speedway. Ugh...always a line and slow service. We need a better gas station in town. Employees talking out in the aisles versus behind the counter. Owner needs to hire more people. Never enough. Super dirty!!! read more
