I went because I follow them in ig. Way overrated w average food. Sandwiches the miga are dried not tasty. Empanadas based on their social media I thought they were going to be much better. Just normal average empanadas. We drove a long way to get there. Not worth it. The empanadas not baked daily. read more

Restaurant & butcher shop. This is a combination of restaurant, pastry and butcher shop. We went specifically for a grill sausage for that night's BBQ. The butcher was very helpful with suggestion as what to buy and how much. I have to tell you this sausage was absolutely delicious once cooked. We couldn't stop eating it. Argentinian meats are great. read more

My family and I have been coming to Los Tanitos (and formally Che Tano) for many years. The food is quite good- they have my favorite empanadas in the area. However the service for the sit down portion of the restaurant leaves much to be desired. The service is very slow. Today they forgot to bring out my sandwich and it came out after our end of the meal coffee. Also my soup had a cold spot. Not the end of the world but still. We love this little restaurant and want to see it live up to its full potential. If the service would improve I would definitely change my rating. Carla- I'm sorry but you have me confused with another family. read more

The people that own this place used to own CheTano. This location is much bigger, with lots of seats to eat in here. The usual set up, for ordering food, and getting it to your table. Lots of refrigerators that sell dessert, frozen food, a wide variety of meats, chimichurri and lots of Argentinean goodies. read more

At first when you drive up to the restaurant in an unassuming strip plaza and enter this space restaurant with a meat display you don't expect much. Don't let this stop you from trying it. This is a simple restaurant with delicious food. The steaks are great. We get the assorted meat platter and each cut is tender and flavorful. The thin fries and sweet potato fries are delicious. We usually get white rice and black beans and the fries to accompany the steaks. They have assorted desserts, empanadas, and migas (flattened sandwiches) also. I am not too fond of the dessert because they are too sweet for me with dulce de leche. If the decor was a warmer and nicer it would be 5 stars. read more

We went to Los Tanitos for lunch to cash in on a Groupon about to expire. Carla explained Groupon was good to take out only due to Covid. We said that the Groupon did not mention take out only. We asked to dine in because there was no one inside the restaurant. She said it was her house, and her rules!! She said my choices were if I didn't like it, get a refund through Groupon or take my order out. My Groupon was about to expire so we took our order out. She turned into a witch. She was the Nastiest Excuse for a Human Being we have ever come across. We took our order home and the food was terrible. Churrasco was over cooked, hard and unchewable. Raviolis hard as a rock, beyond al dente in a watery tomato sauce and Overpriced!! Don't eat there!! Don't waste your time!! Plenty of other restaurants in Kendall that will treat customers with respect! read more

WOW!....horrible from beginning to end. I really wanted to give this place a shot because it's close to home and I love Argentinian food, and I came in with, not high hopes, but just hopes....was extremely let down. Here we go. Went with the wife, on a Wednesday at 6:30pm, not busy at all just one other table with 2 people besides us. Small restaurant/butcher shop/market, 2 servers and 1 attending the register. Sat and asked which white wines they had available, she said "Merlot"...I shuda walked away at that very moment but I stayed. Service was extremely slow BTW considering there were only 4 people eating and 3 servers. Ordered the fried mushroom appitizer which was a new item and on the front page of menu...couldn't eat them. Soggy, mushy, and inside was cold (picture). Wife ordered chicken Milanesa....from my understanding "Milanesa" is served breaded with marinara sauce and melted cheese on top, some restaurants even put ham and cheese slices on the protein but that's usually Cuban, anyway....she got a breaded chicken breast, that's it...nothing else on it or on the side, just a rock hard breaded flip flop. Sides were ok just caprese salad and potato salad. I ordered the Picaña 8oz medium rare, it come out closer to medium well but it was tasty and tender still, i don't expect an Argentinian restaurant to screw up meat temperatures. After removing the fat it ended up being more like a 6oz steak. Additionally, they didn't give me any chimichurri!!... An Argentinian restaurant that serves their meat without chimichurri how is that even acceptable.? Not impressive at all. The staff is not Argentinian which isn't a big deal but my guess is neither is the chef, and that is a big deal. To end the insult, the other table asked for their checks the same time we did....yes, they gave us the wrong checks, and they took like 10 minutes doing it too. How can you f*k up 2 tables??!!...anyway finally sorted out and we blasted out of there. Save your money, go to DiCrespo on 152nd instead, this place was an embarrassment to West Kendall and Argentina. Ciao!! read more

Family Restaurant 100%!!! The flavors in everything we tried were amazing (empanadas, parilla, mashed potato, desserts)! My 4 year old is a meat lover and this is the perfect place because their meat is 100% Angus beef Certified. The owners are extremely attentive and you can tell how much love they have for their food and place. We will be back for sure with family and friends! 100% recommended not only for lunch or dinner but also for an afternoon coffee with a delicious Argentinian pastry or also to buy everything you need to make a great bbq at home. read more

Horrible service. We walked in sat down and the waitress told us we had to move to a different table because that table was for four people. There were only two other tables in use both tables with only two people. The girl was extremely rude. Never going back. They don't know how to treat people. She kept calling me "mi amor" in a very disrespectful way (if you are Argentinian you understand how this is extremely rude) read more

This is my go to place for steak. I rarely cook steak at home because Los Tanitos is around the corner. A family friend who was Argentinian once told us that his country is known for steak but not for rice. He was right! Several years ago, I went to Buenos Aires, Argentina. I loved it! Once again, the steak there was amazing! I'm very picky about my steak in the USA because the prices are usually over priced. So here's my review about a restaurant that has potential to be one of the best in Kendall. I love the location but the actual strip mall needs work. I use a manual wheelchair and the ramps aren't ADA compliant. The parking spots are usually abused by customers for the strip mall's other stores. The cellphone company store blocks the ramp with their advertising. Now once you go inside Los Tanitos, I can forget the strip mall's ADA violations. The restaurant greets you with a delicious display of their baked delectables. You pick the table you want. I've never seen a hostess. There's a butcher shop as well. With said, I'll get to the thorn on my side with Los Tanitos. While the food is delicious, the service needs to be revamped. The owners are gracious and polite and hospitable but when they're not there, their servers aren't the best. I have had servers who have had no knowledge on steak. I'll ask them the difference between the dishes offered and they don't know. Some of them don't know English. I think it's important that they know English and that they know steak. Other than that, I strongly suggest you go with knowledge and enjoy! The new signature dishes are delicious! Their desserts are fabulous! The chocolate cake is OMG! I love their pasta! Taste their raviolis! Enjoy the food and pray they change their servers. read more

Went on a Groupon and had a decent meal: special note DO NOT order wine , it's included but not worth it , even for free. Good news is it was ok for the money. I have to say the best part was the warm bread!!! That's about it though...I paid $21 for two which included vacio (flank) steak , two sides and two glasses of wine. Skip wine, as I said, better off with water. I ordered side of home made mashed potatoes and caprese salad. Not bad , not good. Decent. Boyfriend had rice and beans , bland tasting According to my man. Although we were the only ones there, granted it was 500 on a Tuesday, service slow. Had dessert pasta flora, a pie filled with Membrillo (quince) which was again just ok. The big question. Will I return ? Doubt it. read more

The restaurant is very nice to look at - the Pastery/empanada display is appealing as is the "mate" bar. The restaurant was eerily silent. No music...nothing. And the service, well it should not be called service. We felt like we were intruders. They weren't rude...it just didn't feel like they appreciated the business...and the restaurant was empty! My morcilla came out cold, I mean freezing! (they replaced it quickly but when I called the server over she guessed it before I even mentioned anything, "cold?") we ordered 4 basic meals (steak and two sides). Perhaps the service tainted everything but it wasn't what we hope for in an Argentinian Steak house. No worries-we won't interrupt you any more read more

The service was not great and only two other parties were there, my plate included a hair and when I advised my waiter she just gave me a stare and then said she would tell the manager, the manager came by and asked what's the problem, I replied no problem, I simply did not ask for hair on my plate, at that point she replied that she'll tell the chef and made absolutely no attempt to make it right, too bad 1 star is the lowest rating available... read more

Came here on Groupon. I had the Churrasco and wife had the Picanho. Both cuts of meat were delicous. I had a double order of the capresa which paired perfectly with the churrasco. I had the house cabernet wine which was a good table wine that was decently smooth. Notable at this restaurant is there extensive selection of Yerba Mate. I've been here about four or five times because I like giving places a chance...and I'm sad to say this place isn't great. Every time I have come in, even when it was completely empty, the waitresses completely ignored us. They don't ask if the food is good, and they give attitude when a simple request of extra napkins is asked of them. The meat is really hit or miss, and their desserts are not good. I got a tres leche that was RANCID and the waitress didn't even seem to care, and went ahead and charged me for it anyways even though I'd only taken a small bite. Possibly the worst Argentinian place in Miami. As a fellow waitress, I am appalled by the service here. read more

Thrives! We bought a groupon and have been there 3 times and they always have an excuse why they aren't accepting it. The restaurant has been empty every time. Don't understand the excuses. This place is the 21st century incarnation of an old Kendall classic, Che Tano...which opened its doors in 1992. It is my local spot for all things Argentinian, especially their empanadas. Best empanadas in Kendall (maybe with the exception of Mr & Mrs Bun, but they're a new take on an old classic there, so maybe it wouldn't be fair to compare the two). Their prices are reasonable for empanadas, although I find their other plates a bit small for what they charge. I miss the old location on Kendall and 137th, it was roomier and had more variety...but I guess rents in the area were getting too high so they moved over to a smaller locale about half a mile down the road and changed their name to reflect that. I'm glad these guys are around for many empanada fix. They're the perfect food. read more

Saw this place on Groupon and figured it was a good deal to go in, so I bought it... If it wasn't for the Groupon, this place would've gotten 1-star... Where to begin... let's start on the CONS, because there were so many: 1-Waited 10 minutes at the door before anyone even acknowledged that we were standing there. 2-Waited another 10 minutes for them to 'clean-up' a 4-person table... (ridiculous) 3-Waited another 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our presence and even ask us for our drink order... (seriously) *At this point, I almost got my entire party up and left, but an extremely sweet and attentive young lady came and began to attend to us. I think she was the Manager, because she was on it from that point on. However, the other staff are in over there head with this 15 table restaurant... 4-The Churrasco that I ordered was over-cooked. 5-No Chimichurri was brought out with the meat. 6-The options were EXTREMELY LIMITED with the Groupon (even though there was no mention of this on the website) 7-Waitress was forgetful, even though, by the time we were eating, there were only 5 tables going... PROS: 1-Sweet potato is extremely good. 2-um...? Don't waste your time, Che Tano's was awesome and this is simply the "red-headed stepchild" read more

We went to eat there and the waitress didn't know the real price and never come to our table and the owner came over and when we explain him the situation he was extremely rude, obnoxious and un professional to us and like wasn't enough the owner told us that he don't need more customer because he already is rich and he also said that in his restaurant he is right and the customer is not ..wow !!! Ive written a review a couple of months back giving this restaurant 4 stars and an exemplary service, but I'd like to make a change to that. I've been coming here quite often and have noticed a big downgrade on the service performance and as well as the food. At first I was very reluctant to update and give negative feedback figuring every job has its day but after visiting several times and receiving subpar service gotta do a shout out. Last week I went with family to the restaurant I was standing by the counter for at least 10 minutes waiting to be seated. The owner or manager who ever she was walked passed several dozen times without even acknowledging me, we stood there like idiots waiting until we spoke up. Second the server that took care of us either she was in another planet or didn't care, she never brought us our drinks, the complimentary bread no silverware absolutely nothing. When we ordered our food which was the chorizo with rice, Churrasco with rice, fries, potato salad and mini pasta the food didn't come out good st all. The Churrasco was hard to chew it felt like I was chewing gum and barely had taste too it, the chorizo looked like the guy left on the grill for too long, and the potato salad WAS THE OVER S**** anyone could ever eat.. Not even a stray dog that's half way dead would eat something that awful. The server lady still hasn't brought our drinks or silverware. The sad part is the 2 tables behind us were complaining that there food was over cooked and lacked flavor. I honestly like this place when I first came here the food was great and the staff was attentive, now it seems like they don't give a crap. read more

We went with a Groupon to try it out and we weren't disappointed. We had two empanandas, one chorizo and another one spinach. My favorite was the spinach and cheese. Then we had Entraña with Ensalada Rusa con Remolacha (potatoe salad with beets) and Caprese salad. Wow!temperature wise it was perfect and it was cooked perfect. We also ordered a spinach and cheese ravioli in a pink sauce. It was very creamy and the filling was delicious. The service was nice, we explained it was our first time and the server made some recommendations. Overall had a great experience, and definitely recommend this restaurant! read more

Worst steak place I have ever been too! Disappointed after waiting an hour for two over cooked steaks. They said that's how "medium Is" offered to remake them and 30 minutes later received rare steaks that were refrigerator cold inside. Trying to explain the meat problem to the manager she said don't bother you are not going to convince me. We told her it's an international standard she said that's the way we cook it. Major attitude her only solution was don't pay. We insisted on paying and did but couldn't believe the lack of customer service which was even worse than the steaks. read more

food is average for Argentinian quality which isngood but I went the other day and none of the employees nor the owner were wearing masks. For me it is a never go there again.
