We had a craving for paella and decided to try it at Los Manueles, a chain of restaurants that we saw around Grenada. We opted for indoor seating to stay warm versus outside in the cold even though they had gas heaters. Service seemed a little distracted at times but we were provided with a free appetizer which was surprisingly tasty. It was a tuna and mashed potato salad like dish. The chicken soup was simple but warmed us up with the hot broth and bits of chicken and vegetables. It could've been more substantial. The main entree seafood paella was underwhelming in many ways. First it was cooked in a nonstick pan so we didn't get any of the crunchy rice that we've come to expect. There also was a lack of seafood variety inside with just shrimp, calamari and maybe fish so it was rather unexciting to eat. Other places include at least clams and mussels. Lastly it was a bit too salty for our tastes. Maybe their other dishes were better but not impressed with what we ordered. read more

Exploring the city with family and the kids got hungry. We saw many crowded restaurants on this street and opted for this one randomly. I believe there are two locations. We were seated quickly, and the restaurant and tables were clean despite how busy the restaurant was. Environment was a little noisy downstairs due to many customers, but it was slightly more quiet upstairs where we were seated. Digital and paper menus are available, which is great because I prefer paper menu. Our server was a bit short with us but polite and moderately friendly. We just acknowledge that customer service/hospitality culture varies from place to place, of course. No big deal. Food was just ok. Iberico was sliced a little thicker than usual but still flavorful. Bread was delicious. They had a dish, red pepper stuffed with oxtail, that was a crowd favorite. Chicken soup was just chicken shreds with broth and I believe a bit of shredded hard boiled egg? Relatively tasty. It was fine in a pinch , or if you're starving, but definitely wouldn't choose it otherwise and probably wouldn't go back. read more

We had a great meal here. We sat out on the terrace and our server was very friendly and funny. This place is very busy so the best thing is to flag any waiter or busboy whenever you see one so you can get noticed. We got a crispy chicken salad and a slow cooked pork rib dish. Both were delicious. The pork was so tender and the fries were actually crispy. The salad was full of fresh veggies and the crispy chicken was also very flavorful. We sat outside for dinner. There is a weird sewer smell outside but we picked a table where it wasn't as bad. The service was lacking. There seemed to be only one waiter that takes the orders for the whole restaurant outside and then just bus boys that bring out the beverages and food. It took really long to get our food, they forgot the bread service, olive oil, etc. We ordered the salmon which was okay, the veggies underneath were good and my kids got the pasta with pesto and added chicken that was pretty good. read more

One of the most highly rated tapas places on google reviews. I stopped by for lunch after getting tired from walking around on the street. The food was delicious and came out very very quickly. The restaurant seemed to expect you to just grab a quick bite and leave, so the waiters kinda just expect you to find an open seating yourself, and you probably have to share table with others. The place filled up very quickly, and many people just stood at the bar and ate. Again, the price was very cheap. Highly recommended. read more

Los Manueles was recommended to us by our Airbnb host as his favorite tapas spot. It was our first night in Granada so we tried it out. We sat on the patio which was busy but captured the ambiance of central Granada. The food was delicious. We had ceviche and the honey mustard pork ribs. The pork ribs literally fell off the bone. Absolutely terrible service with mediocre food. The waiter constantly forgot what we asked for, and had to be reminded MULTIPLE times just for what we ordered. They also had a stuck up attitude the entire time, and seemed to constantly be annoyed. Got served RAW (yep, completely raw) thicken with my pasta and the waiter just looked at it and shrugged. Took 20 more minutes for them just to come back after they forgot about it (they never apologized either), and then they had the audacity to claim I had already eaten some of the dish. Eventually we got it sorted out, but there are much better restaurants nearby. Save your time and money and skip this place, absolutely not worth your time. read more

This was recommended by our hotel. I was a bit skeptical as were greeted in English and that says to me mainly for tourists but regardless it was a nice experience. They served us tapas with our drinks and we ordered the Saltaldo Manueles which to our surprise was curry beef and peppers. We split between us and it was more than enough. Our hotel recommended them and so this was our first stop right after we checked -in . Very good location and well lit ,spacious vibe . we sat at the bar and started with a Tinto do verano and Sangria . For the uninitiated Tinto de verano is similar to sangria and is typically made up of 1 part of table red wine and 1 part soda, usually lemonade. This drink is so refreshing and delicious that I could literally drink it in place of water in the summers .The Tapas comes complimentary with the drinks In Granada and we got our first plate that was rice and bread. I thought it was not per drink but how many rounds of drinks you order because when I asked for a glass of water I was given another semolina based Tapa . The third one we got was the fried eggplant that comes drizzled with honey . In theory it sounded delicious but in reality we could hardly eat it . Just a personal preference and nothing wrong with the dish which is a local favorite . The honey which I personally felt was balsamic overpowered the dish .It was overall too sweet for us . Pricing is reasonable if you keep ordering drinks but if you get a Tapas on its own I didn't felt if it was the same range . Service was alright. read more

Had read good reviews for the place despite its location straight in the heart of the tourist zone. Wasn't particularly impressed by the tapas, which were quite basic, although the couscous was surprisingly addicting. We had: Couscous (free tapas) - Good but very basic. It's cooked with some meat so it's quite savory and addictive. Rice (free tapas) - Tasted burnt, was not a fan. Grilled veggies - Veggies were quite oily and very standard, wouldn't bother ordering. Honestly, this was our first stop for paella after an evening full of flamenco and desserts - because we were so excited we didn't do much research. We probably should have as it tasted no different than rice with meat. I had high expectations for the Valencia as it was the only chicken option on the menu. There was no crispy rice crust as I've come to expect with paella. Service was good and I'd think the only thing that was good otherwise was the fact that the restaurant is open late enough if you did what we did and explore the city prior to getting some good food! We visited los Manueles during our trip to Granada for some tapas. We each had two drinks and received complimentary tapas- the first was paella, which was fantastic and the second was a couscous dish. We also ordered meatballs and croquetas, as that is what they are known for. Both were very good. read more

The place is packed. Friendly staff, and pretty efficient. Every time you order a drink they give you an appetizer. The paella was AMAZING.

We came to this place because it was recommended to us by a local, but they only serve one tapas plate per two drinks! All the other places we went to gave one tapas per drink. I had the sangria here and it was alright; truth be told I don't really know how to judge good alcoholic drinks because I don't usually drink. My experience here was far from good. Hence the 1 star. When we finally got approached by a server, we knew what we were ordering so we let her know. As we were looking for the item on the menu for her (she didn't speak any English, so we were going to point it out for her - not faulting her for that, not everyone needs to speak English everywhere) she got very impatient and walked away... not once, but twice. When she came back a third time she called for another server who, in a hurry, explained what we were ordering. This dish is listed as 16,50€ min 2 person order. We thought that it meant it was big enough for two people (perfect!) What it doesn't say is that this needs to be ordered by two people and the price is double... we ordered it anyways because we were very hungry. After waiting for a long time for our food, we finally got it. Finally. We were starved and were looking forward to some BBQ meat. The dish came with meat, potatoes, and veggies... sounds delicious, doesn't it? Well - it wasn't. The meat wasn't cooked properly and was so red inside that it might as well have been slapped onto the plate raw. The potato's weren't cooked properly either, and the veggies were nothing to write home about. After spending two weeks so far in Spain, in different cities, eating meals that were basic but delicious - this is a gigantic let down for 32€. read more
