As two tourists from the United States, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our experience at Los Diamantes. The food was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we were hoping for while visiting Granada. One of the best parts is that every drink comes with a free tapa, which is an amazing value and a great way to try different local dishes. Everything we tasted was excellent. What really made our visit special, though, was the owner, Nacho. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. His hospitality turned a great meal into a memorable experience. We left completely satisfied and would highly recommend Los Diamantes to anyone visiting Granada. Great food, generous portions, wonderful service, and a true local atmosphere. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town! read more

Los Diamantes has several locations , we had to go to the one in Bib Rambla for the mushrooms but the one we went to most frequently was on Navas. Raucous atmosphere, bar staff shouting orders, standing room only, loved it. The garlic prawns were great, one of my top three places for tapas in Granada. read more

Across the street from Plaza Nueva is this branch of Los Diamantes a family owned chain set in Granada. The white clean interior has long cafeteria style benches and tables for a communal dining experience. Sit at one of the tables and order a beer or wine. The alcohol comes with small tapas. As long as you order drinks you get tapas. If you are in the mood for more fuller plates the squid is delicious as are the artichokes. Both the food and drinks come out quickly and cheaply. Cheap beer and free tapas, but fairly average food. It was extremely busy when we went so there was no room at the bar or the few tables. We got extremely lucky though as we noticed a table near the entrance about to leave, and we pounced on it as soon as it emptied. You need to order at the bar. So it actually ended up being a bit of hassle as you need to fight for space at the bar, but whats worse is that you need to carry the food/ drinks through the busy crowd back to the table hopefully without spilling anything. We fortunately didn't have any accidents. They give free tapas with the drink orders... we ordered 4 drinks initially and this came with a pretty big size of fried seafood. It was fine, but not great. We also ordered some seafood tapas dishes... the food was not bad, but not as good as at most of the other tapas places that we visited. I was surprised after reading the positive reviews. Note that there are other restaurants on the same street, but most of them looked pretty touristy/ bad. read more

Excellent excellent. Free Tapas were very high quality seafood plates of fish and shrimp. I was very impressed! Im going to come back here over and over again. So happy to have found this place. Had the razor clams and fried artichokes. Both were very good. Bread is optional and costs 1 euro for a very hard, not so good bun. I'd always opt to skip the bread. read more

Literally a diamond in Granada!! Best seafood tapas I've had during my vacation in Spain! Free tapas for each drink is also a definite plus (and they give you good tapas too compared to other places in the area). The navajas (razor clams) were fishy to my taste, but they were the best out of all the ones I've had (I also am not a fan of them in general). They do give you a huge portion, so I would suggest you get them if you like razor clams. My favorite was the Gambas pil-pil (shrimp in garlic sauce). DELICIOUS! Their tinto de verano also tasted the best out of all of the ones I've tried. read more

I found this restaurant through Rick Steve's Spain travel book. As I researched for my trip, I cross referenced this with Yelp and TripAdvisor, and the reviews were flawless. The food was fantastic - I feel like this is the type of restaurant place you envision when you think about eating Seafood in Spain. It's a very casual, fast-paced seafood joint. The menu was entirely in Spanish, the staff was entirely Spanish speaking, but were able to figure it out. We ended up ordering the fried shrimps, fried anchovies, fried mixed vegetables, and plate of heirloom tomatoes in olive oil. All of the food was awesome - but I feel like we didn't get the best experience. We wanted the razor clams, but the restaurant was out. We also would have loved the Carabineros shrimps, but I don't think they had any either. I'm glad we got a table here though - it was packed. The outside seating was perfect for the hot day, since it was in the shade. Great for people walking. Make a reservation or come early!!! read more

Wow! Best tapas bar in town! One drink; one free tapas! Can't beat that. On top of the free tapas, totally worth it to pay for the Gambas and the calamari and the anchovies. So good. Service is impeccable! The guys here are awesome. Will be back for sure. Thank you Los Diamantes for a perfect nite. read more

A great place to start the night in Granada. I love southern Spain and the best reason is because of how little you need spend on food and drink and still have a great time! Awesome sense of community in this bar, and great food and drink. My highlight were the navajas a la plancha, but there are also multiple other tapas that come free with an order of drinks. I would definitely come again! read more

Los Diamantes - The razor clams were delicious and well priced! There are small tapas that come free with drinks as well. - Tapas Bars Near Me - Granada, GR

I don't understand why people like this place. Razor clams were fishy and no good. Clams were mediocre. Fried baby squid was ok, garlic mushrooms was the best... Service was not good for foreigners which I can understand. I had high expectations but maybe just because we came from San Sebastián and Barcelona but this place was actually not good... the pictures are deceiving because it looks so good and I was so excited about it too... read more

OMG we loved it! We had four drinks so they brought four tapas: fried chicken, garlic mushrooms, fries with a sweet sauce and lightly fried vegetables. All were amazing!! We also ordered squid with tomatoes (perfect!) and sweetbreads which my friend said were delicious. Everything had so much flavor, even the tiniest piece of lightly fried chive. read more

In my opinion Los Diamantes is a must visit if are ever in Granada. Be forewarned that this place can get quite hectic and there is limited table seating. It is mostly standing room only with high tables and bar areas. The servers here are nice, speak some English, and are quite efficient. They will also provide free tapas as you order more rounds of drinks which is nice and common in Spain. The seafood is very fresh as expected with such a high turnover. On my visit I was able to try the grilled baby squid, spanish rice, grilled razor clams, mussels, and fried anchovies. Everything was amazing and food came out quite quickly. You will find mostly locals here with only a few tourists. There are three locations throughout the city of Granada so you have no excuse not to give this place a try! read more

Worst service ever in Spain. We came last year and loved this place came back again and couldn't get them to acknowledge us. Brought us the same Tapa twice and served everyone around us but us. Tried to get another drink and was ignored. Will be updating all of my contacts that this is no longer the greatest place to go in Granada. read more

Food is beautiful , staff is great , and it really feels like the restaurant deserves the name "los diamantes"

So, I came here twice (in one day). This review basically balances out both experiences, which were probably polar opposites of each other (I'd probably give 2.5 stars total). First and foremost, be forewarned this place is probably always going to be crowded. I actually happened upon this place during my first day in Granada and I was actually looking for another tapas place recommended on yelp, but stumbled upon here first. You definitely need to be somewhat aggressive and push your way through to the bar to order. I had ordered a sangria (basically lime soda and red wine) and received some sort of fried fish with it, which was enough to sate my hunger. Even though it was fairly busy (this was probably after the lunchtime rush), I thought the service was fairly fast. I wasn't planning on coming here for dinner, however I bumped into two other visitors doing a tapas tour in the evening and we decided to come back here again. Unfortunately, the second time was a pretty bad experience for all. My two new dining friends had ordered two sangrias and got a pretty miniscule portion of fried anchovies? for the two of them to share. When I ordered my sangria, the server poured a miniscule amount of red wine, ran out of the bottle and filled up the rest (basically 95% of the cup with lime soda). I did receive a more generous portion of the tapa however. I think this place is hit or miss, but definitely try to come here when it's less busy. I'd give my first experience a 4 and my second experience here 1. read more

I wanted to go here for awhile but it was always so packed that I didn't feel like going inside. However, that was a mistake because the tapas are definitely worth dealing with the crowd. I ended up going here a few times because the seafood is so good. They might have the best free tapas in all of Granada because they give you a fair amount of seafood tapas, which are generally somewhat expensive. Not only does their fried seafood taste great since it has such a nice, light batter, but their grilled seafood tastes great as well. My favorites here are the razor clams and fried shrimp. Also, the portions are very generous. If you do order a half or full racion, they at least give you a lot. However, if you plan on coming here a lot, you might as well save your money and just order drinks. Eventually, you'll be able to sample most of the dishes. The only dishes worth ordering as raciones are the shellfish like razor clams because they don't serve those as tapas. Overall, the seafood here is great quality, and if you mostly just order drinks then it's also very cheap. Worth the trouble. read more

This place was super busy, but worth the wait for amazing tapas and good drinks! Our waiter was very friendly and nice and gave us suggestions on drinks. We could tell he was swarmed but he managed to stay friendly and helpful the whole time. We got anchovies and clams tapas and it was amazing! We also ordered a full serving of fried calamari, also delicious. Great service with great tapas! read more

Small tapas bars with a quick table turnover rate. People come, order some drinks, get free tapas, and move onto the next bar. I guess we didn't get the memo because my friends and I sat around thinking this was where we were having dinner so saw all new faces all around us every 15 minutes, lol. We ordered a round of beers and got a full plate of fried anchovies. Looks and sounds frightening but it's delicious! The head's still intact, it's a bit meaty, and everything just tastes good when it's fried. The fried platter of assorted seafood came with fish, calamari, shrimp, and more anchovies. This was also really tasty but eating all this fried food starts to get old very quickly. So make sure you order more beer! The baby squid was highly recommended and it was our least favorite dish. We had several baby squid dishes in Spain and this one was a let down. It was really chewy and didn't have much flavor. You just chewed and chewed and chewed. And lastly, to counter-balance all the bad stuff we were eating, we ordered a plate of sauteed mushrooms. They were small, round mushrooms. So round it didn't get fully cooked so a little bit raw in the middle. Again, wasn't as flavorful as it looked. read more

It's been two months and I still dream of this place after returning home to CA. Everything we ordered was absolutely divine. And we ordered a lot. I'm pretty sure we could happily drown in the olive oil sauce alone, especially if you order bread to dip with. Worth it. The seafood was fat and fresh, the tapas plentiful, and the wine flowed easily. I loved it so much I was happy to eat here over and over again during my trip. From steaming razor clams, to salty sweet chilled shrimp, fatty sweetmeats and fresh fried anything, it was all so good. We ordered a lot of things and tried a lot of free tapas and everything was strong & solid. How amazing is that? I'm ruined, how will I go on without this place being a regular presence in my life. More traveler's useful info though, as a very obvious looking tourist I never had an issue all the times I was here. There's no drink menu but that normal around here, just know what you want or look around at the bar. It's pretty simple here. The staff are extremely busy given how packed this place gets but they're friendly and efficient. You food will speedily come, your drinks will arrive and refill, just relax and wave someone down. read more

Good service, friendly staff, food and drinks are great! Ambience is great withe friends or family.

Cyndy's Bottom Line: A small popular place with a few tables but mostly standing at the bar for deliciouso tapas & drinks. A fun place to stop and have a drink & tapas. You can't help but meet people since you are in very close quarters. Elbow to elbow. You may want to help the bartender with passing out the tapas too. There is a mix of locals and tourist. The local people are warm, very sweet and welcoming. The tapas are delicious. This is what we ate: *Razor clams - meaty and seasoned lightly and sautéed. *Mixed seafood - perfectly fried lightly. Tasty, moist and flavorful. *Mushrooms - deliciouso! So flavorful with lots of garlic. *Fried chicken pieces - like chicken nuggets but better. Delicately fried, seasoned well, moist and tender. *Mussels - nicely done. read more

Great little bar for a beer and tapas. Excellent mussels and assorted fried seafood. Fast and friendly service.

Casual, local joint. Nothing fancy about the decor here because the food is the main focus. This place was packed with locals, always a positive indicator that the food is solid. We managed to grab a standing spot by the bar (the restaurant was packed at 3pm). We ordered Rioja (okay, nothing special), chopitos plancha (fantastic grilled baby squid) and almejas (I'm not a fan but my husband loved these baby clams). Very happy with our overall experience. Waiters were polite and efficient, the food was churned out quickly without comprising on quality or taste. Would definitely eat here again if we had more time in Granada! read more

Come here for the real Granada experience! Get a spot at the bar or, if you're lucky, a table, and start ordering drinks. In no time, you'll get delicious free seafood tapas and you'll never want to leave. We got mussels (so sweet and fresh), stewed meat with rice, fried marinated dogfish, and fried anchovies, all for free with our drinks. We were so happy with the free tapas that we ordered a plate of gambas pil pil, which came sizzling in a delicious garlic oil bath. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the oil was heavenly dipped in their bread. The food is on the salty side, but it's all tasty and fresh. Just standing at the bar is an experience in itself--the waiters moving in perfect harmony, calling out to the kitchen, doing a superhuman job of keeping things moving, and not missing a beat. We got such a kick out of just watching them and soaking in the wonderfully chaotic atmosphere. There wasn't a tourist in sight besides us. We left happy, stuffed, and day-drunk. This is a sit down cafeteria style dining table with long shared tables, fast-casual. With two small beers, 3 seafood dishes our bill was $39.15 and as you know, in Spain no tip is required but our server was very kind and efficient, it was a full house! They start you off with some complimentary fried fish/ shrimp and other good seafood things. The seasoning of the batter was delicious, and it was nice and light. We had the gambas al la plancha , pulpo al la plancha and fried calamari. All the dishes were good but my favorite was the grilled shrimp. The pulpo was cooked well but not too flavorful -- so overall nothing really stuck out , but it was good seafood for an OK price. read more

If you come here be sure to arrive early. A popular hangout that has minimal seating always seems to draw the crowed of locals, tourists and students. We were able to get a spot at the standing bar. After two glasses of red wine and tapas which was delish, our bill only came to €5......Damn cheap and filling for those wanting a quick bite on the GO. The place is clean and simple....but most of all dishes out the good foods packed with local ingredients. Their prices and portions are fair. Amazing experience. Every dish was simply prepared to perfection. We had the best squid, shrimp and clams during our 2 week trip to Spain. For Americans, the restaurant can be a little intimidating since you essentially state your order to the man behind the counter. He remembers your entire order including additional food and drink orders during your meal - nothing seems to be written down. We were seated at a table, away from the counter. The man behind the counter somehow was able to catch our attention to pick up each dish as soon as it was ready. At the end of the meal, he accurately remembers your entire order and hands you the bill - la cuenta. read more

There are so many options when it comes to food in Granada. But this place has all the hype. Portion sizes for the free tapas are solid, and the cerveza is cheap (2€ for a decent sized cup if I remember right). This place is the best for cheap seafood in Granada. We ordered beer and got free tapas which were one of the better fried seafood we had in Granada. The calamari and shrimp had good texture and came out hot and fresh. The staff was way too busy to tend to us I don't believe they spoke English but we communicated easily enough with our poor Spanish. I ended up leaving because they forgot about us. I would try to definitely come here again if I return to Granada when its not busy to give it a fair chance. read more

Standing room only at this crowded, narrow bar as locals and tourists alike struggle with good humour to find a space in which to enjoy a cold refreshment and a fishy snack. Every time we passed this place on the way to something else, it was always packed like a can of sardines (heh, no pun intended) and busy. "It must be good", I thought. Well, my instincts were right. If you're craving some good old fried seafood and don't mind getting a little greasy greasy, then stop in here for a beverage or 3 and you'll get plate after plate of boquerones, gambas, or whatever your wanna-be Spanish heart desires. You can't deny yourself, so just don't. Don't expect anything fancy. It's just really basic and straightforward. Find a corner or a crevice where you can place your drink and a tapa-sized plate, and you're golden. It's lively, smells of seafood, and it's wonderful. read more

There was already a queue here at 8:30 pm when they opened their doors, and the minute everyone poured in, the beer started flowing and the smell of freshly fried fish wafted throughout the bar. This location is the old school one - just a few tables, mostly a long bar and a few nooks and crannies to stand in. You drink your beer, shout out what you want, or just wait for the free dishes that come with each drinks round. The menu is cheap and heavy on the seafood, especially the fried variety, and it is pretty glorious. We first got some lush boquerones - fried anchovies - clearly they had just been fried that minute, with perfectly crisp batter. They needed a hint of lemon and salt, but this isn't the kind of place where you ask for things like that! With the next round we got some kind of fried white fish pieces and they were meltingly tender, hot, and lovely. I wouldn't want to hang out here all night, as its absolutely rammed, but if you come early you can manage to stand by the bar and have a few dishes before moving on your way. I still don't understand how these places can give you so much free food and stay in business, especially when the food is so good. Clearly a local favourite, not sure we saw any tourists there. read more

Los Diamantes - Not closed! - Tapas Bars Near Me - Granada, GR

Granada spoiled us with all their free tapas (w/drink purchase), especially Los Diamantes, which came highly recommended to us by the locals. The place is on Calle Navas, a street known for its tapas (nearly every shop is a little restaurant), and SPECIALIZEs in seafood plates. We arrived near the end of lunch, around 3pm, right before they closed for their mid-day break, and squeezed our way up to a spot at the bar. Each round of beer we ordered came with a new round of free tapas, and each one was absolutely amazing--the fried salt cod to start and then the sherry-soaked clams. Amazing. The cod was lightly battered and perfectly tender and paired so well with the beer. Then came the clams...soaked in sherry and seasoned beautifully. Know this before going to Spain: the Spaniards aggressively season their plates more often than not. And I ain't complaining. A guy next to us at the bar was enjoying a dish that looked really good, so out of curiosity we asked him what it was. I thought it was chicken, but it was Mollejas (sweetbread) and the man quickly offered us a bite. We tried it. Pretty solid, not gonna lie. We wanted to stay (forever, really) but left after the two tapas and after chatting it up with the friendly local at the bar. Don't worry, we went to their other location (Plaza Nueva) later that night for Round 2. We were missing it that much. Oh how I miss you, Granada and Los Diamantes. read more

Really expensive - the only downside, really. I did not get to try anything here besides their gambas blancos and free tapas with drink purchase, but I can tell you that the quality of their seafood is absolutely amazing. The shrimp flavor - the freshness and taste was like something I have never experienced before - boy, it was the best shrimp we had in all of Spain. Service is kind of spotty and extremely slow, even at after 3pm when the crowds had died down completely... but that may be just the American in me that is always expecting things little more quickly. read more

Loved this straightforward, no-nonsense seafood tapas place. It looks like a cafeteria, but wow do they make delicious seafood here. Different fried things like fresh sardines and baby shrimp are included with drinks. You can - and should - order whatever creatures are available grilled a la plancha. I started with the baby sepia (octopus) grilled with olive oil, garlic and fresh parsley. Wow were those good. While I waited for my prawns (next item ordered) I devoured the free grilled button mushroom plate they set in front of me. Then those prawns arrived, super fresh, juicy and sweet grilled to crunchy perfection and set on a bed of sea salt. Wow. All that and two beers came to less than €20. Amazing. Service was good too. And friendly considering how busy they were on a Friday night. read more
