This place was amazing. Good selection of food. Outstanding tapas. One of my favorite places I've eaten here in Granada.

We now see why: a beautiful late-night space with friendly servers, cheap prices, and amazing tapas and wine. We didn't realize all drinks came with essentially a half-meal (not a small plate). in this case a delicious stewed chicken (leg/thigh) with bread. But we got the cuttlefish and octopus as well (both char grilled, swimming in olive oil and garlic, amazing, melt-in-your-mouth perfection) which was definitely too much food. But we ate it (mostly), had more drinks, and went home happy. Would recommend to anyone willing to get away from the central city.

The interior decorations are wild. Sensory overload. Get you Catholic on. The seating is terrible. The tables are set on wine barrels, the seats are uncomfortable and you cannot situate your legs without discomfort. This is not a place to linger and relaxed. It is high energy. If you think about ordering a main dish know that the portions are HUGE. We stupidly ordered 2 for the 2 of us. The food is OK. Nothing special. But they serve a lot of it. And with a million French fries. La Quinta comes with an amuse bouche mini "Dove Bar". + Prices are low. + well lit. + High energy level will keep you going. + service from the runners 0 service from the waiter - paper napkins - - flatware €45.5 for dinner for 2

The service was great for Spain and the food/portions were better than most places we've been. The prices were also great. I wish I had even ordered less! We ordered drinks and it came with a few free croquettes. They were ok - glad I didn't pay for them. The tortilla de españa was excellent and so were the patatas pobre with an egg on top. See the pics for a better idea. It's basically potatoes in oil with a few peppers added in. My only complaint about the food is the amount of oil used. It was almost overwhelming. Despite this I was really happy with the food and atmosphere of Aixa. Best feature about this place - which my daughter loved - The misting once every 20 seconds whether you needed it or not.

I walked into Via Colon on a lark, and was greeted immediately at the door. I told them that I was cold and asked if they had hot tea. The waitress ushered me over to a table by the window, and promptly brought me tea. She was so nice! I stayed for a meal, and had the BLT. It was good, and certainly satisfied the need. (Probably a 3- or 4-star meal, but I bumped the review to 5 given how accommodating and friendly the staff was. Read on.) After the sandwich, I was onto my 2nd cup of tea, and wanted a pastry to go with it. They have a good selection. The waitress ushered me over to take a look at their pastries at the counter. (Almost had a tapas feel to it, except it was a countertop full of pastries.) I wanted something with fruit in it, and she described some of the pastries they had, but thought I might find them too sweet, and suggested that I might be happier with a blueberry muffin instead. I don't know how she could possibly have known what I would like or wouldn't like, but the muffin ended up being an excellent choice for me (and went well with the tea to boot!). Note: when I was there, no one in the place spoke English. Great chance to practice your Spanish, if you're so inclined, although the dialect can be a bit challenging (but nowhere near as challenging as Malagueño).

We stood around for a few minutes before we were greeted to determine if were for here or take away. Once we got seated, our order was taken right away and our food and drinks came out quite quickly. We really enjoyed the churro with chocolate sauce as it was a first for us. When we were ready to close out, was confusing as well and we had to go up to the counter to ask for our check. We enjoyed the food and drinks but not sure we'd come back based on the service.

It was packed with locals but you won't get the same service as a tourist (at least we didn't). Both of us spoke some Spanish but were clearly not fluent, and the waiter was blunt from the start. We ordered two drinks that were supposed to come with tapas - everyone around us got theirs with their drink right away. The waiter didn't bring ours out until much later when a local lady noticed he didn't bring us anything and pointed it out to him. If it wasn't for her, I'm sure he would have assumed we didn't know any better and cheated us. As for the plates we ordered, they were thoroughly average. The patatas bravas were pretty good but didn't stand out compared to others we've had. Maybe our bad experience was due to one waiter, but I still wouldn't go back.

I had their picadillo soup ( ham and egg soup) which was delicious. We shared a plate of clams which were fresh, not sandy and plentiful -- and also the sea bass. The flavors were very good, tasted fresh. The seabass, one portion was mildly undercooked but it did not bother us. Overall we had a great dinner. Service was friendly and pretty attentive for Spanish time standards. Would recommend if you enjoy seafood, and the area is lovely -- great to sit outside on a nice day to enjoy the terrace.

The servers were friendly and try to speak in English if they realize our Spanish was limited. We went like mid afternoon. They offered us a plate of arroz con Callos as a free tapa after we ordered drinks. My wife loved it so much, she ordered another bigger portion, called raciones of Arroz con Callos. We ordered from the menu del dia. My Don had the Gazpacho. We both had the Croquetas con Jamon Iberico y Queso. Food was good. The flan was a bit underwhelming. We opted for indoor seating to stay warm versus outside in the cold even though they had gas heaters. Service seemed a little distracted at times but we were provided with a free appetizer which was surprisingly tasty. It was a tuna and mashed potato salad like dish. The chicken soup was simple but warmed us up with the hot broth and bits of chicken and vegetables. It could've been more substantial. The main entree seafood paella was underwhelming in many ways. First it was cooked in a nonstick pan so we didn't get any of the crunchy rice that we've come to expect. There also was a lack of seafood variety inside with just shrimp, calamari and maybe fish so it was rather unexciting to eat. Other places include at least clams and mussels. Lastly it was a bit too salty for our tastes. Maybe their other dishes were better but not impressed with what we ordered.

So many times on holiday you go seeking that perfect restaurant. Normally it is based on a friends…read morerecommendation or a tour book's 'place to eat'. Often it leads you down a road of anguish and stress, past numerous other establishments that could have easily sufficed. All of this in the hope that something better awaits -- only to be disappointed by every aspect. Thankfully El Ají delivered beyond all expectations. After a stroll up winding streets we were greeted by a beautiful square full of locals, drinking, playing music and conversing around tables. We started the night with beers and complimentary tapas and ended with a house wine and homemade desert. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was delicious and prepared to perfection. But it was the atmosphere that made the night.

Also it was a Monday and all of the first few Italian places we looked at on Yelp were closed. Frustrated and hungry we left our hotel and walked just a few steps into the San Miguel Bajo square. This was the second or third place we passed, it said "pasta" on the outside menu so I said "let's go!" We never do that! We always check reviews but we were so hot, hungry and tired we just walked in. So glad those other places were closed. We all got exactly what we were craving. They have an English version of the menu. I actually ordered the kid's bolonase pasta and it was excellent. Husband got the small roasted chicken, it was very small in comparison to a US chicken, just a little bigger than a squab with a spicy dipping sauce. He liked it, we thought it was ok. Our son's sirloin steak was AMAZING - but pricey at $19.00, but it was so good and we hadn't had steak in weeks so worth it. The two meat dishes came with half a grilled baked potato which they both enjoyed and a small mixed green salad. The meal came with free tapas for the table (looked like a tiny wrap with delicious hummus inside one for each of us) and the best bread we've tasted in Spain. Warm rolls. Yum. The service was friendly and helpful. The price was slightly higher than we have been paying for our tapas meals but well worth it. We ate inside due to the extremely hot weather but there are tables on the square as well. It's always hard to find great food, even with online reviews, so we may even eat here again before we go. There menu wasn't overly large (which I prefer) but it had a nice selection of fish, pork, beef, pasta and tapas.
