tapas in Spain began as nibbles given free by tabernas with a drink order, a tradition that still holds in just a few cities like Granada and Madrid. needing food after a tour of Alhambra (circa 1300 moorish castle), our group chose Ermita, housed in a renovated ex-bullring. which was, as you would expect, stunning. a selection of tapas were brought to table with pitchers of Rioja - stuffed mushrooms, brochetita caprese, asado. all good, as those ordered: croquetas de pil pil, bacalao-lobster gratin w/ asparagus, jamón ibérico de bellota, tortellitas de camarones. todo realmente muy sabroso. read more
