I am gonna start off by saying i am NOT the type of guy to look at reviews or leave reviews. Literally downloaded yelp just to review this place. I am FLABBERGASTED by the value and quality of the food here. I ordered four tacos for like 11 bucks. They were so fucking good i ordered three more and an agua pina and let me say they DO NOT FUKCING SKIMP ON PORTIONS MY AGUA PINA WAS LEGIT LIKE 32 OUNCES AND ITS TASTES SO FRESH AND REAL WITH PULP AND EVERYTHING!!!!!! This place is for sure gonna be a new regular for me I am just blown away like how are they still in biz. I have no words long live los gallitos My full order was 7 lengua tacos and that drink and I ended up spending just over $20. What the fuck. Im in love read more

If I say fast food, I'm afraid that would paint a picture of golden arches or a purple bell, sterile walls with echoing tile. This place is a small, local and authentic chain of restaurants with rows of tables in an open dining room and a drive-thru window that leads a line to the street at night. As a native Texan, I really enjoy trying places off the beaten path for Mexican food. It's fun to go to places where English isn't the first language for staff and customers. You know you're where the locals feel at home. Plus, it's fun to practice my Spanish, though the gal taking my order spoke English. The eating experience is as authentic as the food. Plates are colorful in presentation, portions are filling, service is swift and the dining room has a bright, homespun feel. For a late afternoon lunch, this is the perfect place for a bite in peace! read more

The best tacos in Denver! I felt like I was in Mexico eating authentic tacos from la carreta! I will go back as many times I can! It is also very busy late at night so parking can be difficult. read more

Taqueria Los Gallitos never disappoints. The tacos are delicious, packed with flavor, and great quality every time. Regular price is already solid at $2.75, but Taco Tuesday is a steal at $1.75 -- same great tacos, amazing deal. Super good value for the quality you're getting. Definitely one of my go-to spots for tacos. read more

Came here for a later night meal. Was mediocre at best but everyone in this town enjoys it. Maybe I've just had better quality comparably for the same type of food. Service was fast food style. Restaurant was busy little loud like a fast food restaurant. read more

My number one favorite taco restaurant in Colorado!! Tripe and cesina is my favorite. They also have the salsa var for you to choose your own salsa. The restaurant seems old and beat down but the food is the absolutely the best!! Gotta also get horchata or aqua fresco!! Pretty fast service and comfy local Mexican restaurant atmosphere. read more

Los Gallitos is your traditional no frills bare bones Mexican street food spot. The food here is also pretty authentic when it comes to preparation and taste. After ordering a large family order, our food came out looking, smelling and tasting like it was homemade. Service is pretty quick and friendly and you dont even need to know how to speak Spanish, Good service all around. read more

I absolutely love this place! If you want super authentic Mexican, this is the place for you.

Simple late night type of joint. Casual, mostly Spanish speaking staff. Food was average. Sauce bar is a nice addition. Food was nothing to write home about. Greasy quesadillas read more

Real authentic tacos and salsa. Loved this gem of a taqueria! Well worth the drive! We will be back!

The tacos are bomb, just the kind of simple street tacos I like. The atmosphere is not great, it's not in the best area, bare bones interior with statues of Mary everywhere but that makes me like it even better? read more

This place is just flat out not good. I ordered the Asada Nachos and two tacos, and I was left disappointed with all 3 items. The nachos were circle chips, basic yellow nacho cheese, "asada" which was your quintessential catfood ground beef, and jalapenos. I wouldn't mind this on a happy hour menu for like $6, but for $15, it's laughable. The tacos were wrapped in a single piece of foil, and the tastes were indistinguishable from one another. I know, this place seems enticing when you're kind of drunk, but I promise it's not worth it. read more

Awesome food! Tasted very authentic, compared to some other mexican places we have had in Denver metro area. Loved the asada tacos and the chile relleno platter. Decent prices. Only downside is that the person taking orders didnt speak english inside but she was very nice. Will definitely be back for more tacos in the future. read more

I love, love, LOVE this place. $1.25 tacos! Let me repeat, $1.25 tacos!!! Been here twice and loved it. They speak English perfectly, but were really patient with me as I wanted to order in Spanish. I had four tacos the first time, then two tacos and two Gorditas the second time. Super tasty, and fresh. The Horchata was delicious. $4 for a huge cup. Parking available. read more

This is my roommates and my go-to spot for tacos now. It's not too expensive, the food's always fresh, and it's got a nice authentic feel.

What the heck. I ordered the bacon egg potato burrito. The potato's were fried. I guess there is *technically* egg and bacon it in. It's really just a sloppy French fry burrito with cheese and salsa that wasn't mentioned on the menu... No prices on the menu. The saddest most soggy bacon I've ever had. read more

I used to really enjoy this taqueria, but recently when I ate here I was disappointed. I was normally used to beautiful tacos, great customer service, and a good atmosphere. But this last time the tacos de asada were very under seasoned, the staff was rude, and it all felt rushed. It honestly pains me to see this. Dan & Lexi read more

Great food!! Great service! It was served very quickly, and the price is very good. Really happy with the Tacos. If you are in Denver and looking for some tacos. This is the spot to be in. read more

Totally a hole in the wall but well worth it. It's low-key. It's a spot not close to everything where it's nothing is whitewashed and it means so much that the service is great. The options and the food are great. You won't get bored of the menu the salsa bar is great, it's open till 3 AM. That's great. Why wouldn't you go here? read more

They completely messed up my order! I called and said my order was messed up, they said they don't speak english and hung up. I called back and spoke a little Spanish and said My order was wrong and said they would fix it. After we ordered with my white husband they made us wait in the parking lot while people went through the drive threw and got their order. I have nothing nice to say to say the least......... We have a lot of great taco places, but this is the best! If you live in Denver, you know that federal and the surrounding area have some of the best Mexican food. Just simply drive along and any old food truck along the way will satisfy your cravings. This brick and mortar dive restaurant is definitely a cut above the rest! It's always a good sign when there is a line out the door. We heard the tacos were delicious so we all ordered a few of those. I had the asado, pastor, and birria. The meat is seasoned and flavored beautifully, not just thrown on the grill. They also have a HUGE selection of meats. I definitely will try something new next time. They also have a robust condiments and salsa bar. If you can't handle spicy, I would avoid the salsa, but ensure that you stock up on the toppings. One of the best parts though is that the food is super cheap - not even $2/taco! Other menus items include caldos and torts which I fully intend to try. read more

The service was really good and people were super nice. They spoke English perfectly and food came out in a reasonable time with 6 people in the group. The place did have lots of flies around but that's super hard to avoid when the door keeps getting opened and closed. I got chicken tacos but the chicken really wasn't seasoned at all. Super plain. The rice and beans were good and the horchata was amazing as well. I would love to come back to try other food. read more

Terrible service and not friendly staff specially one woman that was thereon 9/9/2022 around 1:40 pm. She gave me horchata water instead of guava as I ordered. I asked her questions and she just ignored me. Food was not great but ok. There were not busy at that time. Short woman wearing glasses and short hair, she was so rude. read more

I went there today and we had the worst experience. Don't go to this place. I got sick after eating here.

Don't even bother trying to make a takeout order. The girl who answered the phone could not understand English when all I asked was "can I place a takeout order?" then she asked if I can hold, just to hang up in my face. The service sucks when you are not there to place your order in person and even when you are there, they're soo sloooww read more

Shoutout to the family that runs this joint because I see a young girl there ALL THE TIME. I love how friendly the employees are and overall tacos to fill you up late at night. Greasy tacos for sure! read more

This place is a mixed bag of an old, tired building, so-so staff and mediocre tacos. The selection is extensive & inexpensive so it's a nice treat if you're on a budget. They'll give you an empty condiment container which you can fill up with anything you like from their salsa bar. You can find things like salsa (duh), pico de gallo, spicy slaw and pickled jalapeños. On the day that we went, we tried almost every taco they had and while good, none were truly delicious. Also, it was a hot, muggy day when we visited and I think the fan was sucking in humid air so we just ate outside in the parking lot. There is a largish statue of the Virgin Mary in the back of the restaurant, making it a true taqueria! read more

It's the McDonald's of Tacos, only a little higher quality. What you're aiming for here is value. For $10 you can get a burrito and 4 tacos. That's value. What's inside that burrito and those tacos is a delicious, oily, probably unhealthy meat party. If you ate it when you were drunk, you'd be in heaven. If you ate it sober, you'd try not to overthink it. Your mouth will be happy. Your belly may or may not be happy tomorrow. But it's worth it. read more
