This little hole in the wall Mexican place has been one of my favorites since another friend from TX recommended it years ago. With great disdain a decade ago, she noted how dreadful a lot of the Mexican places are that she tried here. Not 7 Leguas! Her recommendation had me running to try it and it's now a staple. The plates are the size of your head! Huge quantities, good prices, great food and margaritas and the service is always kind and amiable. You feel at home! You aren't rushed out. You can talk and enjoy a slow-paced meal truly in Mexican style! We shared the chicken fajitas and had the Skinny Girl/organic margaritas. They were great! Less sweet drinks and real fruit juice makes us happy. The chicken was grilled to perfection, tortillas fresh and hot from being on the grill. You get a nice side plate of cheese, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and beans and rice. They DO NOT skimp!!! Notably from the past visits here, the meat sopapilla is the bomb. If you are hungry for a meal the size of a newborn, this is it. That sucker is massive and fills you up. We had it after skiing and it hit the spot. Didn't know there were meat sopapillas (only sweet ones I thought!) so this was like discovering a new world of cheesy, meaty awesomeness. read more

Driving back to Denver and stopped in Strasburg to avoid rush hour. Was headed to Subway when we saw this place with a full parking lot. It was packed at 6:30 on a Wednesday night. We snagged the last table. Lots of Latino patrons so must be good right? We were not disappointed. The comp chips were delivered pronto and hot with medium heat salsa. We got the carne molcajete to share between the two of us and it could have fed 4! It was all delicious but the charro beans were surprisingly flavorful. No wonder since it's stewed with pork skin, bacon, and sausage. The rice was good too. i Usually sides are bland at best. The waitress didn't even charge for extra tortillas. This restaurant is a spectacular place to have lunch and dinner. My first time visiting was for lunch last year. I was impressed with the great service and the quesadilla. The drink that I purchased was delicious but was not a margarita. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the drink. The second time coming here was for Cinco de Mayo, and also a celebration of myself, and my two friends. We all landed the jobs that we applied to. The ambience of the restaurant was very lively due to the Cinco de Mayo celebration. We had the house margaritas which were on special for the same price as a 12 ounce margarita but was 18 ounces. The margaritas were not as strong as I would have preferred. They tasted more like margarita mix than a well balanced drink. We shared the fajita combo. The combo had shrimp, chicken, beef, and I believe pork. It also came with a bowl of soup, Spanish rice, some sides, and tortillas. The fajitas were marinated to perfection. My friends loved my suggestion to come to this restaurant. We will all definitely be coming back again for the rest of the items on the menu. read more

We did takeout on August 30 2025. A combination 1 and a combination 6. The food was delicious, plentiful, and reasonably priced. It only took 20 minutes from ordering online to picking up the food. I've been here several times now as my family just moved to Bennett. I've only ever had 1 good experience. The food is great when they actually can get your order correct. The first time I went I ordered a chile relleno burrito and ended up with a green chile burrito. I let it be. But I also ordered a fried ice cream and it came out as a solid ball of ice cream. Unlike any fried ice cream I've ever had in my life. I couldn't even get the spoon through it to eat it. The second time my order and staff were great. The 3rd time I went I ordered menudo for pickup and got broth and hominy. There was hardly any meat in it and for $17 you would think there would be at least some. I also work DoorDash and came to pickup an order and the lady working the front was completely rude to me. I could barely understand her, but she saying something about having to pay extra for the green chili that the customer had ordered and I was trying to explain to her that I have no way to pay for the extra since it was a DoorDash order. My only job is to pick it up and deliver. She ended up yelling at me to not be rude to her??? All I was trying to do was explain I was not able to pay for the extra and to remove it from the order if she needed more payment. She then turned around and walked away from me. There was so much promise when I pulled up and walked onto this joint. It reminded me of the Mexican food restaurants of my west coast youth. Outside is busy Colfax, and inside it was cool and dark. The first sign was that the chips and salsa were subpar. I ordered pastor and asada tacos, and the meat was not tender and not flavorful. It's unfortunate to leave a 1 star review because I truly give most places the benefit of the doubt. Please consider this is a Uber eats order, which means I submitted the order myself and there should not have been room for mistakes. 1. However, I spent over $100 for take out, I ordered one asada chimichanga, one tamale, two enchiladas, a menudo, nachos and a side of guacamole and chips. 2. The presentation of my order was disgusting. We were excited to try this restaurant so we ordered a little of everything. I added a photo of my guacamole side, the portion was bigger than the chimichanga and enchiladas put together, why? I don't understand. I had to throw it all away because it all came with tomatoes lettuce and cheese, everything. 3. The chimichanga came with beef instead of asada, it was completely dry and had very little cheese on top. The amount of sour créeme on the salad portion was so gross and too much, added a photo here. 4. I received 4 bags of chips when I only ordered 1 bag. It is annoying to receive this much food and have to throw it away. 5. I ordered cheese enchiladas but instead I received chicken enchiladas, the cheese on top was not melted and the tortillas were breaking apart and super dry. 6. The tamale was so hard and cold, I didn't bother to take a bite. I hope who ever prepared my to go order last night 03/25/23 will be identified and the owner address this with them because it was not okay to spend over $100 and have to throw it all away except for the menudo. This outcome has downgraded the restaurant in general and I am hoping you guys make it better. Disgusting food. Filthy bathroom. Flies everywhere. Had the Bean and chicharrones burrito, one my favorite things on this planet and a good indicator on most Mexican places around town. Absolutely. Disgusting. The chicharrones alternated between rock hard and snotty. Both ends of the inedible spectrum. Told the waitress and explained my issue. She took it away but didn't waive the item. She "discounted" the inedible dish that I barely started, never mind finished. When I was leaving she suggested I order something else next time as though I'd never had such an "exotic" burrito that the majority of spots in town make. Insulting and patronizing. Not a great combo. Got my son's drink order wrong, no biggie on its own, but paired with the horrible burrito, and response to same, snd being surrounded by swarms of flies (what's the kitchen like?!) was incredibly off putting. Bathrooms were also pretty gross and my son remarked that the floor was sticky in a few spots as we left. This was my daughter's favorite restaurant, but she said her dish was off as well and never wants to go back. After months of begging to go there whenever we drove by. I'd eaten here for the better part of a decade and this was the worst experience I've ever had, but tracks with the overall trend of each of my meals. I won't be back. read more

Wow! Don't let the exterior or location of this restaurant fool you. This place is legit and as good as it gets for some authentic Mexican food. We had an amazing lunch here. We decided to go outside the box and order a couple of items that we normally can't get close to home. We went with the Chicken Sopapilla Rellena and the Veggie Molcajete. The presentation alone of these two entrées had my mouth watering. Fortunately the taste matched, if not exceeded, the presentation. I've never quite eaten anything like either of these entrées. I've ordered Molcajete before in NJ, but it didn't taste anywhere near as good as what I had at 7 Legunas. If I was to come here again, I would order the exact same things again! read more

This place is awesome. No frills ambiance but it has a nice patio and really friendly and attentive servers. We sat at the bar tonight (Friday) at 7:15. It was packed but we were promptly served a drink and the food took maybe 10 minutes. I had the Camarones a la Diabla and my partner had the Tacos Rancheros. Both were presented nicely and served hot and delicious. Two drinks and two entrees was $80. We spent $140 last week at Machetes so for us that's a steal. read more

I was next door Denver Key & Lock and asked if this place was any good. Tech said yup so I went straight over. Menu had a ton of options for the gringo and Chicano alike. They also have a bar but not a full bar, think dad's basement for the vibe. Decent amount of seating inside and out and they also have a parking lot in the rear. AC was blasting during my visit so that was tight. Both items I ordered were fantastic. The Nachos Supreme are exactly that, supreme. Probably not a good idea for a solo diner but I was starving and I have a big appetite so I powered through with room to spare. The Caldo de Res, what a masterpiece. Beef, carrots, cabbage, potatoes, green squash, corn, and some amazing broth. It's also served with a side of rice, which was perfectly seasoned. This is the meal. Got take out from here on a Friday night. We got 1 order of steak fajitas and 1 order of chicken fajitas. Steak was better than chicken, but we liked sharing both! Came with rice, beans, etc and flour tortillas. Also came with a bag of chips (very good) and salsa (also very good, albeit a lot of onion). Total was just under $50 for two people, and we had some leftovers. We will be back! read more

This is a neighborhood restaurant with fairly run of the mill Mexican food. They offer a myriad of regional takes on Mexican food from the expansive menu. To note, they have some less well represented dishes, such as Chile Colorado. Interestingly enough, they also offer a California burrito. While my fajitas were good, the rice and beans are what stood out to us here. The rice was especially flavorful. I usually don't even bother eating the rice or beans. The tortillas and chips were serviceable but they weren't stand outs. The portion sizes were very generous. The service we had was outstanding. The seating is mostly cozy booths and a separate bar area. We like that they stay open later until 10pm during the week and they had a good amount of business at 9pm while we were there. So many restaurants close at 8pm now that eating out later is not an easy option anymore. read more

Nice little Mexican restaurant with free chips and salsa. Salsa was good and spicy. They gave me some homemade hot sauce on the side as well for no upcharge. We tried a lot of things, street tacos, jalapeño cheese sauce coated chicken chimichanga (they called it a burrito but it was fried like a chimi). I got a combo plate with a taco, bean and beef burrito and a cheese enchilada. Comes with rice and beans. Taco was good but a little bland, salsa fixed it up. Bean and beef burrito wasn't what I was expecting because it was ground beef but it had a great and spicy flavor. The enchilada sauce was a little tough but the sauce was really wonderful in my opinion. Lighter than most enchilada ranchero sauces. Beans and rice were good, kind of bland. I loved the jalapeño cheese topped chicken "burrito" a little more than my combo though. The person who ordered the combo type of tacos kept raving about how delicious they were. The person who had a carne Asada chimichanga was sad it was bland and beef was a little tough inside. They were also disappointed it was covered in green chili sauce as they didn't read the description well and just assumed it was coated in cheese. I thought hot sauce and salt worked it up a lot when they shared a big bite with me. Over all we were very happy with the modest location, great service and mostly delicious food. I don't know if I'd drive the distance to eat here and with so many options in the area I will try other restaurants but I'm sure I'll be back again to try more offerings! We've had takeout before and liked it, so my husband wanted to go here for lunch. It's dark inside and there was a bit of a musty smell. Service was slow but everybody is understaffed, and our server was friendly. As a true gringo I did a combination order. Nice touch that they make their own taco/tostada shells. But the taco was advertised as shredded beef, but when it came it was ground beef. And the cheese enchilada had clearly been pre-made and reheated very quickly and not thoroughly -- the cheese inside was like a little brick instead of being melty -- and there wasn't any red sauce, the whole plate was smothered in green. I should have specified but I would think they would ask if it was an option. My husband said his soft rellenos were a little "meh" also. Bummer as we wanted to love it. read more
