Husband had order of chilaquiles and said it was a 4 out 5, only 1 other place was better in his adult life.... Of course Mom's is the best. I had the Huevos Rancheros, I say mine was a 3.5. I like the cooked sliced onion and bell peppers garnished on top and this sauce seemed to have the onion and peppers blended. And it was missing the corn tortilla under my egg. This was a hidden gem my family and I came across as we were driving home from the border to Dallas. It's a small place that was easy to get to from the highway. The inside was cute and clean. We were welcome to sit where we wanted and our drink order was taken right away. The chips & salsa were especially good because the chips were warm! My father ordered the carne guisada, my sister ordered the chilaquiles (I think it was the ranchero plate and she added an egg), and I had the chicken fajita quesadillas. The plates were HUGE! We felt bad that we couldn't finish everything. My dad liked his plate but it wasn't his favorite carne guisada. Not surprising since he's very picky. Although you wouldn't know that since he ate most of it! My sister and I really enjoyed our plates, but we probably could've just shared one plate. We all enjoyed the freshly made tortillas too! I'm telling myself that two grilled tortillas won't kill me. The melty cheese and shredded beef with the broth was amazing. I'm going to have to figure out how to make this keto at home. Friendly service and the menu is in English where they got an English speaker waitress since we speak limited Spanish. Had the chilaquiles, chili relleno with shredded chicken and cheese, tripa plate. Gigantic portions as they all come with refried beans and rice. My first reaction and comment,"It looks like a dive". Ok, went in anyway we were hungry and looking for a restaurant we had not tried. We have only been in Seguin since April. If you're driving at dusk or after dark you will totally miss it. It's a small un remarkable place. Do not expect fancy atmosphere. It isn't a Date Night place , UNLESS , you're just going in for the food. They had both Booths and tables w/ chairs. We're in the 70 and above group and have a small Service Dog. I'm being straight up with you, if you just want Mexican food and lower prices YOU just found it. we're Texans by birth . But I have been all over the country. So two foods I know pretty well are Cajun and Mexican. Toss in a Chicken fried Steak . lol. This place didn't have that. But they are Big portions and SO GOOD! I thought we were going to be the only ones there so that threw w Me a bit. But other groups started arriving. When we received our plates I understood why. I should have taken pictures . Our serving dishes were more like platers. They did have a small sign telling you they charge for to go pates and I suppose even cups. Even with the extra charges it's the lowest price we have paid in along time. . But ate way more than I should have and I paid the price. lol Next time I will Carry my own container for my food I can't eat there. Hopefully they will allow me to do that. We did receive the chips and two bottles of salsa. Plus they had good hot sauces on the tables and napkins.that may sound funny but we normally have to ask for more napkins. I moved one of my cheese enchiladas to his plate and he gave me one of his beef enchiladas. We received rice and beans and a salad of shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes. Lg portions for all of this. I believe they do a lot of tie our so from the sound of others who rated this place you may hit a line at lunch time. One thing that is for certain, You won't leave hungry. Your stomach will like it and you can have money left over even with a tip. But please be generous and leave your waitress a tip. If you get one like we had she was very patient and sweet about helping me with the menu. I had to ask about a couple of the items. However even with two more groups to wait on she continued-to check on us . Our meals arrived on hot plates . I need to add thy also had real silverware, not flimsy plastic. Yes I have it marked on our phones and maps. We will be Returning most likely this will Benoit go to for Mexican food. I am not a big fan of a lot of cheese on Zi guess most anything , except mozzarella cheese. So I will ask that be left off of mine next time. But fortunately for us my husband loved the cheese .
