Machete Combinado (Asada, Pastor, con Nopales a la Mexicana)
    Janell E.

Place is Small, booths are too we're a fam of 6 but we were able to enjoy our food anyhow. Food was BOMB! I found this place looking for Machetes . This place is a 5-10 min drive from our house and will definitely be back! Or order out. My kiddos are PICKY af! Was surprised to hear they gave the food 10/10 I'm content with this place they ensure we were good checked on us many times to make sure we were okay. Our waiter as well as the owner I believe she was ... both very friendly with us

The best salsa and quesadillas in town!!! Order the quesadilla de chicharrón and red salsa, the best!

    Torta

So DISAPPOINTED with the food. I ordered the carne asada huaraches and asada torta. Huarache was one of the driest I've ever had and the meat quality was POOR. It was sliced so thin, almost like a deli meat and most of it was chewy stringy cartilage. It was $7.99 which was a complete rip off. There was ZERO FLAVOR. Has this place heard of salt? The torta was depressing too. After lifting the top to check out the filling situation it was just so sad looking, and so was I. One sliver of an avocado and tiny spritz of mayo. There was barely any filling and was basically all bread. Only positive thing I can say is they seemed to have discovered salt in this item. Meat quality in the torta matched the huarache, TERRIBLE. Don't waste your time or money.

The service here was very fast, the food is great. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great family owned restaurant. The restaurant is clean and enjoyable.

Scotty took what was already a great date night and made it truly memorable. Not only was he the best server we've had since we started dining at Puesto, but I'd go so far as to say he was one of the best servers I've ever had anywhere. Scotty had a calm, understated demeanor that was part of his charm. He was genuine, attentive, extraordinarily kind, and somehow managed to keep my Diet Coke with lime full the entire evening. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and was always there at just the right moment. Best of all, he laughed at my dad jokes. While the food was outstanding, Scotty made the experience even better. His service elevated an already great meal into an exceptional evening. We will absolutely be requesting Scotty's section every time we visit Puesto Anaheim.

I usually have enough leftovers to take home and have for lunch the next day. Parking is a bit sparse, but there's residential spots available next door and within walking distance (as well as my favorite romance bookstore, Heartbound Bookshop). All their dishes are made to order, so please have some grace and be patient with their kitchen. As I always say, you can't rush perfection!

The agua de melón was delicious, and the side of beans was excellent. We also ordered a plain quesadilla, and it was surprisingly really good. The menudo itself was just okay--not bad, but nothing special. The reason I'm giving 2 stars isn't because the staff were rude, but they definitely weren't friendly or welcoming. My biggest concern, however, was what I witnessed with the condiments. When you order menudo, they bring a plate with limes, onions, and chili. I watched two employees clear tables, throw away some items, but keep the unused onions and uncut lime wedges from customers' plates and take them back into the kitchen to be served again. Even if I didn't use all of the onions or limes, that doesn't mean I didn't touch them. Reusing food that has already been on a customer's table is unsanitary and unacceptable. After seeing that, it made me wonder whether other items, like leftover chips, might also be reused. Whether or not that's the case, what I witnessed was enough to make me lose confidence in their food handling practices. Unfortunately, I won't be returning

The restaurant is located in the middle of Downtown Disney, with the entrance tucked off to the side. Just make sure you don't mistake it for Centrico! The service was amazing from start to finish. We were greeted by a hostess downstairs, who then had another hostess upstairs escort us to our table. Since the dining area is upstairs, you can either take the stairs or use the elevator. Our server, Alyssa, was incredibly attentive and helpful. She gave my fiancée some great recommendations and helped her make a few choices. The gentleman who brought out our food was also very informative and took the time to explain each dish as he delivered it. The food and drinks, from the appetizers all the way to dessert, were amazing. We started with drinks. My fiancée ordered the Maya-Tai, while I got the Sangria. We both enjoyed our drinks, but we ended up ordering two more glasses of the Sangria because we liked it that much! The first food item to arrive was the half-dozen oysters (not pictured because we were too impatient!). They tasted incredibly fresh, although we did encounter some shell debris in a few of them. We also shared the Pulpo Enamorado, which is grilled octopus served with tuna aioli, salsa macha, and pickled vegetables. This was one of our favorite dishes, and I highly recommend it as a shareable small plate. My fiancée ordered the Enchiladas de Pollo--shredded chicken wrapped in corn tortillas and served with salsa verde, avocado, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and queso fresco. I ordered the Lamb Barbacoa, which was slow-cooked and served with a pinto bean purée, mint jocoque, sweet pickled jalapeños, and a side of corn tortillas. Both entrees were absolutely delicious. The flavors were well-balanced, and everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Overall, we had an amazing experience. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere all impressed us, and we definitely recommend giving this place a try. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu--and, of course, getting the Sangria again. I highly recommend getting the pitcher if you're dining with a group!

Came in for a little date night on a Saturday evening. The whole staff was friendly and accommodating, always quick to refill drinks or clear empty plates. We started off with some delicious and spicy oysters which were topped with a shrimp! We also had to try the Chori-brussels which are flash fried Brussels sprouts with chorizo, balsamic reduction, and Oaxacan cheese. For drinks we got a Santo Dia, a whiskey based cocktail with watermelon, lime, and fizz served over ice. We also ordered the Spicy margarita which had watermelon habanero, lime, and hibiscus flavors. They were both delicious and refreshing, the spicy marg had a good kick to it. For dinner we got a caesar salad, the ribeye plate, and the Urbana burger. We both loved the dressing on the caesar, it's made in house and it shows. The ribeye was cooked perfectly with a delicious herb butter on top, a really good steak sauce on the side, and thick cut fries. The ribeye wasn't the highest quality but it tasted good, the fries were perfect. My fiancé got the burger which had chorizo, melted queso Oaxaca, and an egg on top. Not gonna lie it was absolutely delish! I want to come back just for the burger. All in all we had a great time and I would definitely come back for some other menu items, especially to try more of their margs and specialty cocktails. Thanks Urbana!
