Food was Nastyy I ordered the chicken and shrimp fajitas. There was no shrimp. But the was my plate that once I got home I realized there was none when me and my husband where there were ordered and my first fajitas where with no bell peppers only jalapeños and onions. Who serves fajitas with no bell peppers and only jalapeños I'm a woman and don't by kid was gunna eat with me I made that clear b4 I ordered it didn't want anything spicy. Then as the waiter took my plate to the back she rolled her eyes as she walked away. At that point I was very irritated so I told my husband just take it to go. So when I got home there was no shrimp and no flavor. The plate was doused in black pepper. And was just plain nastyy. I will never go there again. Have no issues with this restaurant. I regularly eat here. For the suburbs, it's a pretty decent price. Taco dinner for $7.75 is a sweet deal. If your into more than just the regular asada tacos, I definitely recommend the cabeza tacos and the tripitas tacos (intestine tacos). NO FOUL SMELL OR GAMEY TASTE. I know some will think this way. But trust me, they are to die for (Order them crispy. They cook them 100%, but if you order them regular, they will be a bit chewy). Their tortas are awesome. Their caldo de res (beef stew) is great as well. They're hot sauces, especially the guac salsa is very tasty! It is spicy. Actually spicer than the red sauce. They also specialize in seafood like the camarones a la diabla. I definitely recommend that or the coctel de camaron. I haven't tried their alcoholic specialty drinks, but their pina colada in a coconut looks refreshing and tasty. Their horchata is always up to par. They have either tamarindo and melon juice is awesome. Fresh squeezed oj is great, but it is a tad expensive. That would be my only complaint. I bought a coupon off of restaurant.com last week for use at this restaurant while family was visiting. The coupon is only good Monday-Wednesday. I went into this restaurant and they told me they're not accepting any coupons until Thursday, at which time the coupon would be invalid for four days and my family would leave. After talking to the manager they agreed to accept the coupon I paid for "just this one time". If you didn't want to accept the coupons, why are you partnered with the website? We then realized that this is the only Los Arcos with no lunch menu. We even called the Palatine location, which confirmed that the menus between the restaurants should be roughly the same, and yet prices were twice as expensive at this location because they chose to not use the lunch menu at all. At this point, we chose to leave - it wasn't worth overpaying and we were already put off by the restaurant's reluctance to accept the coupon. We went to Los Compadres down the street and were very satisfied. The only reason I didn't give this one star is because I can't speak for the food as we never got to the eating stage. I ordered through GrubHub today 12/22/18. Everything in my order was correct, except no cheese on my steak tacos and no rice and beans for the taco dinner. The reason I'm giving 5 stars is because I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 tacos that were warm and delicious, even without cheese! My guacamole and chips were awesome, and my 2 bottles of coke, very cold! Just picked up from here today to support a local business. Wow, so impressed! We got chips, red and green salsa, guacamole and chips. The guacamole was very fresh and the salsa was spicy and delicious. We got two chicken tacos, one al pastor and one rajas con queso taco (poblano pepper). The tacos were so full or meat and flavor! We stopped here the first time because my wife did not feel like eating at the nearby Culver's for lunch. This remarkably good place is located in a cramped strip mall by Busse & Algonquin, surrounded by the usual laundry, cell phone shop, etc. Inside, we found a lot of the regular customers were Mexican families and working folks living in the area who were also Spanish-speaking. Luckily, the waitress knew English and offered us a nice menu of choices. I always use the steak burrito as my benchmark standard for a Mexican place and this one is very good. Los Arcos is a very unassuming Mexican restaurant in a strip mall on the south side of Algonquin Road, just west of Busse Road (across from Jamison's). In fact, the sign on the building says only "Mexican Food." I usually go for lunch and complementary chips and salsa are served when you dine in. There are usually two waitresses working and they are both pleasant and helpful with the menus. Orders are taken quickly and the food is prepared within minutes. Although the menu is extensive, I used to only get either steak or pork burritos, and they are fantastic. Stuffed with meat, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and sour cream, it is definitely enough for lunch (add bean & rice for dinner). Recently I have been getting tacos and tostadas. I have had steak, pork, chicken, chorizo, and ground beef and it is all terrific. I have been getting more adventurous and I am soon going to try the lengua (beef tongue) and tripe (intestines). UPDATE: After writing this review I got hungry and tried the lengua taco. YUM! The meat was so tender and tasty. Other meat choices offered: Chicaronnes (pork rind), Cabeza (beef head), Sesos (brains), Birria (veal), Cecina (dried beef) Overall, I love Los Arcos because it is clean, fast, cheap and good Mexican food. read more

Strictly traditional steak tacos review. Awesome tacos. Recommended this place to a colleague who moved to the area and her and her boyfriend now frequent this place routinely; as do I. Would recommend to a lot of people, even with the competing places in the area. Side note: Place has a sign called "Mexican Food" out front so don't get confused. It's right across the street from that sweet Lousiaina Chicken Popeyes joint. To the owners: Consider a $1.25 taco day maybe on Wednesday. You could really get a lot of business from United Airlines once people get the word you have a dollar taco day. Just put a bunch of fliers out and you will see an influx of customers. One of my three favorite mexican restaurants are located in this area. Los Arcos is one of them, I mostly come to this one because of the chips with the green Sala with avocado. The torta with breaded steak is bomb here. So is the marinated pork. And my favorite is the tripe, I know a lot have not tried it before , but it's good compared to other ones in the area. The waitress here are very polite and give great service. If see you see a bad review, it's just unlucky people who obviously don't know how to mexican. They also have pick up, and live music on the weekends. I'm not much into that, but I don't mind if I do end up going Saturday night. read more

I randomly stopped here on my way to class since I was not familiar with the area. I ordered a beef torta and asked for avocado. While waiting at the registered, asked the person if the chips and salsa everyone was eating around me was complementary. He simply stated it is for dine in only and walked away. I didn't think that a few chips and a little thing of salsa would put them out of business but no biggie. My torta was ready right away, $7.49 including $.50 for a slice of avocado. When I opened it up to enjoy it, I found one tomato, one slice of avocado, a bunch of iceberg lettuce, a few pieces of meat and a little bit of refried beans and a whole bunch of mayo. Overall, it was okay, not as satisfying as I've had in other restaurant, the bread was a bit dry- a day or two old. I don't think I would come back though, the quality does not match its prices. read more

I do not recommend this place ... it's full of racist Mexicans and when you ask them to make your food a certain way they catch an attitude and wanna tell u how they gonna make the food . They make their tacos sloppy as hell, don't know how to position a bag to where your dinner won't fall out of the plate, and I asked for extra steak on my taco this one time and they did not put it on there. When I called and told them they wanted to argue with me about the circumstances. They are not customer service friendly, and certainly not worth spending any type of your hard earned money on these scuds. I will be treated with respect spending my money, won't be coming back. Go to Tortas Locas instead it's a block away from this dirty restaurant, tacos are a little bigger they understand English better when it come to special requests, and they are way cleaner on the inside, cheaper too. read more
