No shortages of Mexican style restaurants, West Roxbury has several. Just trying to find a quick place for a lunch take out, hoping for a nacho plate of abundance, which I have a favorite restaurant that prepares this that gets me every time. When I am in the mood for one mammoth nacho with fresh lime, cilantro, the choice of yogurt instead of sour cream, and wide selection of vegetables and the choice of pineapple salsa I go there, it is due north, quite a stretch. Out of my element here in this neighborhood but wanted to see what could be a lunch from a local Mexican restaurant, the menu is diverse. Los Antojitos does not stick to Mexican and they say so in their restaurant description, their menu is diverse from Central/South Am. and Mexico. Los Antojitos occupies a busy corner of Washington St., there are public parking spaces on the busy Washington St., front. Some parking on the sidewhich is convenient for call up and wait ordering they have website ordering as well. The order was promptly made and not seeing the space inside there is no description to add about the restaurant itself. It is becoming more clear to me during covoid of reviewing and in fact it has become less about the food, service, etc. As it is evident that it does not matter to Yelp, but matters to Yelpers that we have a platform for exchanging our experiences. During unpredictable times it is a treat to have a purchased restaurant meal and when times are predictable that still holds true. +++++++++++++++++++++++ It was o.k.. I tried the shrimp nacho that came with 6 large shrimp, nachos chips, vegetables guacomole, sour cream. It was not made exactly the way I like it but made well and a little on the expensive side for what you get, 15.00. When it comes down to it, that is what seems to be more or less what it is about for me. Holding true to what the exchange is; a plate for money in this type of venue. If I were to be in this neighborhood in the future, I would come here and also try over there for another Mexican style eatery. Really, its just lunch on the run. It was good. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ When the weather is warm and they are open, perhaps there is outdoor seating available, with small tables for people watching and socializing.  The restaurant seems to have some side space outdoors, with snow on the ground it is difficult to know is this is something that can be created. I really really wanted to give this place a good review. I was in the area for a doctor appointment and was I starvingggg. I ordered so much food for take out just for myself aha. I got chicken and cheese quesadilla, chichurron was yuca. I ask for carnita tacos but got chichurron tacos. I got churros . The chichurron tasted very dry and salty and hard. Not crispy at all. The yucca was the only thing that tastes fine. The quesadilla was hard and dry. I ended up having to toss it out. The churro was so hard. Idk. It was very disappointing. I really wanted to like it so bad. And as a starving super preggo I honestly would have ate anything. I was craving for some really good mexican. And this just was not it at all. read more

Such a wonderful surprise for our first time in Denham, MA! The food was spectacularly tasty and authentic. Everything was fresh and the horchata was divine with cacao added, not just rice milk. When they named this place "Los Antojitos", they were not lying, the food looks so enticing that you are seduced into ordering everything! The staff was superfriendly and the male manager/order taker was efficient and organized in making sure our orders were accurate and timely. I got a shrimp quesadilla and we got some pupusas and yikes. The quesadilla was legit just shrimp and cheese and the cheese felt fake, and the shrimp that was there was skimpy, even the guacamole was weird and was definitely not real. It was much too green. Small portions but delicious. I got the chicken and pork belly taco which were small but so good. The Papusas came with a slaw that was bland but the actual papusas were crispy and delicious. Ahhh-mazing!! I haven't had from-scratch, homemade Latin food in so long and this hit the spot! The portions are more than generous and the staff are so friendly. Heydi was so nice and chatted with us while we waited on the food - made to order! - and the open kitchen was great. We sat at the counter and my son liked watching the food being made. HIGHLY recommend the sopa de mariscos, papusas, and the guac. Everything we had was delicious. Sadly, I don't live near here, but their other location in Attleboro is closer so we'll be hitting it up soon! read more

I got introduced to this place by one of my son's friends. Absolutely love it! It has become a regular for great take out for us. However, their home made chips are best when you dine in. My fav is the steak burrito. But I also have enjoyed their mountain breakfast plate. Just be prepared to put off your next meal by about an hour. You won't be hungry yet... ;-) The place is small, so it can get tight during peak hours. But, the food is worth it! read more

I almost hate to write this review because I love the food here so good that I want it all to myself! All kidding aside Doña Heidi and her crew make great food. I always leave full. My favorite is the Carne Asada. It comes with rice, beans, and salad. I don't know what Doña Heidi's secret is, but the meat tastes fantastic. Another favorite must have is the pupusa. I live over an hour away from this place. We moved from California in December and finding quality Latin food is a HUGE struggle on the east coast. Being 29 weeks pregnant, I had a gigantic craving for pupusa loca, but places that serve them appear to be extremely limited. This place popped up with great reviews, so we made the 70 minute drive from Hampstead, NH. AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT. I ordered pupusas (enough to last me a couple meals), a few different kinds of tacos, and flan. The pupusas were fresh and perfect. THE TACOS, I'm not kidding when I say I almost cried because they were what I've been craving for a good 8 months now, and can't seem to find. The flan was thicker than I'm used to, but the flavor was great. As a California girl, I'm super picky about this kind of food. I wish I could give this place more then 5 stars. A+++! Found this place in yelp and it was amazing. The ladies and owner of this place is so nice and friendly. Their food is very delicious. We had Carne asada and Plantains, portion is generous. I tried their carne asada plate and it wasn't anything out of this world when it comes to flavors poppin out. I'm Dominican, give me my sazón! Also the menu here said it was a dollar cheaper- would be good to get the accurate menu up. Also when I called to order near 6 they did not have the beans/cheese & loroco/cheese pupusas, only the pork and cheese one- i got some for my sister , tried it, was good but not the biggest fan of pork. I got the yucca fritas and wish they were cut smaller as they were pretty chunky. Also taste like they were fried in old oil- I don't know- had a weird taste to me. The restaurant is very small. Took the family there based on the reviews. The staff helped us get a table ready for our toddlers. We ordered the traditional Colombian plate, and when the food arrived we were shocked. The portions were tiny, with the beef almost felt like it was one portion split to two plates. The pork belly was tiny as well. They gave us a lot of rice and beans to fill the plate. The kids got chicken fingers kids menu...and even that was pretty sad looking. The salad looked pre-washed lettuce with nothing else. We are pretty experienced travelers who are familiar with South America and been to many great Latin restaurant around Boston area, and this place was not great, by any measure. We spent around $70 for two adults and two toddlers, and left hungry. This is be first time leaving a Latin American restaurant hungry after ordering a ton of food. If you want real Latin American food then go to east Boston. This place is only good if you want a taco and a drink. Try Mi Pueblito in east Boston and you will consider this place a total dump. One of the things I had missed about Boston when I moved away was the essence of neighborhoods. Upon moving back to the area, my introduction to the West Roxbury neighborhood did not disappoint. Growing up Latin exposed me to different cultures and their food for sure, but this introduction to El Salvadorian food reminds me of what I love about Latin culture in general. The warmth and love that comes through the food is apparent. A couple of original favorites are the steak and egg baleada and the pupusa loca. I like that she has added new items to the menu and is trying to incorporate other countries into the mix. Her fish taco is pretty amazing. Excellent service, fabulous pupusas, steak tacos were delicious and the place had an overall wonderful vibe. The owner was wearing a fun shirt that said, "Keep calm and eat Latin food." Everything I've tried so far you can tell they care about their products. So tonight me and my mom and brother and we ordered a ton of food. They got here pretty quick. And my mom went downstairs to get it and he Informed her the Beef Tongue Tacos weren't in there as they overlooked it. And the coke wasn't in there either. Now I know what your saying why a 5 star. This place is a find -- and so close to where I live. You know it's going to be good when the owner is the cook -- and her children work in the place. The business is their life -- and the quality of the product proves it. I haven't had a chance to sample much of the menu. But from what I've seen it's great. I had four tacos for the price of three -- the carne asada. It was fresh, well grilled, with excellent topping of tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese. It was picante but not to the point of any burning. I added some habanero sauce to it -- and got the desire fire in my mouth. I also sampled the papusas -- a typical Salvadorian dish (the owner is from El Salvador). This was a rich mixture of pork, cheese, refritos, and some fantastic sauce -- all served inside of a corn tortilla. It was accompanied by a cole slaw in a picante sauce. Super yum! ATOL DE ELOTE- I'm going to review only one item here and hope that it gets improved. I'm from Guatemala and I know what it should taste like. My sister was nice enough to bring me a cup of atol de elote on a cool Friday night 5/18/18. I was exited because it was the perfect weather for it. I opened the cup and the color of the atol was the same color or the cup, white! As far as I know corn is yellow thus this atol should also look a little yellow. I should have know that was a bad sign! Then the taste was probably the worse part! It was horrible. Please improve it or stop selling it as Atol de elote because it's no where near that.
