For an early weekday dinner, I stopped by Viva Taco. It's easy to miss in an area replete with Latin American restaurants, though its location on a small intersection and its brightly painted exterior helped it stand out. The establishment itself doesn't have much space--just a small counter with bar seating by the window that fits about three people, and a single table that seats maybe six. It's definitely more of a take-out spot. I had the place to myself, so I ordered a chicharrón burrito ($13) and fried yuca ($7). I didn't expect to finish it all. The burrito came out in less than five minutes. The rice was well-salted and flavorful, the plantains added a surprising sweetness, and the chicharrones were satisfyingly crispy. The pico de gallo tasted extra fresh, and the tomato salsa had that slight grit you only find in freshly made versions. This burrito was also loaded--I was full after finishing it. One small nitpick: I would have preferred a pressed tortilla for a bit more heat and structure. About halfway through my burrito, the yuca fries arrived. They came topped with shredded lettuce and more of that fresh tomato salsa. The portion was generous here as well. None of that "five sticks of yuca for $10 at the upscale Latin American place" nonsense. Viva Taco is neighborhood comfort food at its finest--quick and filling without sacrificing flavor, and at a reasonable price point. It might not be perfect, but it's exactly the sort of place I wish every community had.

" Fresh , tasty and found a new taco place " This plan is worth trying if you have not . The food is delicious. It tastes fresh . It doesn't leave a greasy after taste just freshness . The prices are good for the quality and portions sizes . Parking is street metered . Just always read signs before parking. We definitely will be back .

One of my favorite taco spots! The Al pastor tacos are incredible! The service is quick and consistent every time. As for the ambiance itself, the restaurant is small but what do you expect from a classic taco spot like this? If you're looking for the perfect street style taco this is the spot for you!

Stopped in here for dinner after being in JP. The guacamole was pretty good but the tacos were way too plain.

Between the steak burrito and the birria quesadilla (can't believe I waited this long to try it) I'm in heaven!

I wasn't impressed with the chicken tacos, because of the chewy consistency of the chicken and flavor of the corn tortilla, I prefer a flour tortilla. The strawberry margarita was delicious and even came with a strawberry garnish! Be prepared because this place gets busy and loud on a Friday night. I couldn't hear my friend across the table. We also struggled because we had a small high top and could barely fit all of our food on it. They did a good job clearing the table and waiting for us to finish our appetizers. Our waitress had her hands full it seemed like she was waiting on every table but she did amazing.

So many amazing dishes, I will say the only thing that was average was the pancakes. Definitely nit great like the rest of the food. Next tike skip the pancake. We sat outside, and our service was amazing too. I forget her name but she was a young woman from Brazil. She was fun, gave great recommendations and even got us another iced coffee to go!! The inside had a great vibe, full of color and fun. If you're looking for brunch.... here is the place!

5 STAR CUSTOMER SERVICE!…read more I frequent BarTaco in Jacksonville, FL ALOT. You could say this is hands down my favorite restaurant. But I was visiting the area for work and tried this location. While my recent order from the Brookline location was disappointing (I was missing my lobster taco and the corn tortillas for my pork belly tacos) I wanted to recognize the outstanding customer service that followed. After reaching out, I received a personal response from CEO Anthony Valletta. He took full ownership of the issue, sincerely apologized, and acknowledged that this wasn't the first problem I'd experienced. Rather than making excuses, he shared that he was meeting with his operations team to address order accuracy and offered to make things right. It's rare to see a company leader respond so quickly, personally, and thoughtfully. Mistakes happen at every restaurant, but how a company responds says a lot about its culture. Anthony's willingness to listen, take accountability, and work toward improving the customer experience left a lasting impression. I'm hopeful the operational improvements he's implementing will lead to a more consistent experience because bartaco's food is something I genuinely enjoy when everything is prepared correctly. Thank you, Anthony, for taking the time to personally respond and for treating my feedback with such care. BTW the food is FANTASTIC! It is very rare that I have a bad experience and still give 5 stars, but is also very rare to have an accountable CEO like Anthony.

We visited the location near Samuel Adams Brewery, and the moment you step inside, you're practically face-to-face with the cashier. The place is tiny, with just a few barstools along the wall, but it doesn't seem like a spot where people linger. It has the feel of a true neighborhood taco shop. Locals stop in for a quick bite or grab their food to go, and workers come in, order, and are back out the door in no time. I ordered a carne asada taco and a veggie taco. The carne asada was flavorful, but the veggie taco completely exceeded my expectations. Instead of the usual peppers and onions, it was loaded with fresh corn, eggplant, zucchini, cauliflower, and a mix of peppers that added great flavor and texture. It was colorful, fresh, and filling without feeling heavy. The real standout, though, was their homemade habanero salsa. It packed incredible flavor with a serious kick. I could still feel the heat lingering on my tongue long after I finished eating. I loved every second of it.
