We came here for dinner on a Friday night, and the parking lot was packed -- always a good sign. We started with the Caesar salad topped with grilled chicken and shrimp. The portion was huge and absolutely delicious. I ordered the seafood soup, which came with a side of rice and a lime wedge. It was loaded with seafood -- octopus, shrimp, fish, clams, and oysters. The broth was a bit low on salt at first, but after adding some salt and hot sauce, it was pretty good. My husband ordered the carne asada plate, and the meat was very flavorful. My son got the carne asada burrito and really enjoyed it as well. Dessert was a highlight. The churros were fresh and fluffy, served with both caramel and chocolate sauce. The tres leches cake was amazing. I don't usually like horchata, but theirs was creamy and perfectly sweet. Service wasn't the fastest, but it was a busy Friday night, which is understandable. I live in south east Texas and travel for work. The salsa is better than many places back home also better than many places I've been in Southern California. The food was great, I had carne asada. You won't wait long and it's very flavorful. Huge props to the kitchen staff. I won't get into too much detail but a pretty serious situation occurred while I was dining. A couple exhibited some intense PDA to say the least. The staff handled this matter very respectfully settling the situation for everyone. Awesome job team. I just had my second meal at Mexicali in Randolph. Although it was an excellent experience, I have provided 4 stars, as I had the same lunch salad (absolutely yummy!) on both occasions, and before giving a perfect score, I believe I should sample a bit more of the menu. But if the Ranchero Avocado Salad with grilled shrimp is any indication, this is a 5 star place! The service begins with a complimentary basket of warm tortilla chips and a chunky and flavorful salsa--far better than what one will find at many other Tex-Mex places since COVID! The large salad comes with perfectly fresh and crispy greens, with black beans, tomatoes, cojito cheese, plenty of fresh avocado, and about 8 proper-sized grilled shrimp (probably jumbo!). For $18, that is an amazing (and very shrimp-laden) salad, and it was super filling, as well. The waitstaff are very friendly, and the manager was outgoing and very pleasant. The Dos Equis Amber beer on tap was cold and fresh, and made this far better than one's average lunch. I look forward to returning! read more

You can tell they're working really hard, but they just seemed like they're not staffed enough or not attentive enough as I was hoping. The food itself was really tasty. I had a steak burrito that was good and was filling enough. It came with a some sort of jalapeño queso that had just about right about the space and was so flavorful. So this is a new place that just opened up and my friend called me to come try it with him. The place was pretty packed and busy but still had opened seating and I would say we waited for about 15-20 mins or so. I was immediately irritated because at least 2 groups that had arrived after us were seated before us. The hostess's lacked attentiveness and when brought to their attention, we were told we'd be seated shortly as if that was supposed to resolve the situation. 1st red flag. Finally we were being lead to a table and I notice immediately that there is food on the floor. I told my friend not to sit down because why would they try to seat us here before cleaning up? 2nd red flag. The hostess apologized and sat us at another table while they cleaned that one but I decided we should just stay at our new table because I was already cold, irritated, and not in the business of playing musical chairs. I ordered the nachos supreme w/o any of the protein options as a starter and was slightly disappointed because nachos are really hard to mess up. But the chips were greasy and had an air to them that made me nauseous, they just tasted cheap. We also did the guacamole Fresca and that also did not satisfy my taste buds and this is coming from someone who loves chips, guac, and avocados. For my entree, I ordered the fish Baja tacos and they were the worst tacos I've ever had. There was barely any fish in the fish tacos and the fish tasted burnt and days old like it was refried. The taco shell tasted very inauthentic. The best part of my food was the rice and beans served at the side. Lastly, the drink I ordered was the tropical margarita with peach and mango. It basically tasted like juice (and I'm quite the lightweight) and it was full of cubed ice. Ultimately, I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Came in at noon for a lunch as we work in the area. We saw the "2 dollar tacos" advertisement on the window and asked about it. We were told "it only starts at 3:30". Nowhere on the advertisement does it mention this. We ordered food after a somewhat slow start. I got a burrito ($17) and my friend got tacos al pastor. From my experience "al pastor" is usually pork with pineapple slow cooked. Our food arrived. A decent sized burritto was on the plate, along with some random shredded lettuce and a single slice of greenish looking tomato. those were cast away as being useless. The al pastor was just pork, with the pineapple on the side. The food was okay, but after the bill arrived it worked out to 25 dollars a person for some very lackluster mexican food and two drinks. 4/12/22 - MCG checked all the boxes for me. From our arrival and interaction with the hostess to our leaving with the hostess offering us a bag for our leftovers was a good experience. The manager as well (I only assume so because he was the only one in black) was on top of additional help for us and other patrons in the restaurant. Our waitress was slow the entire evening. From our sit to getting the check. You should never have to flag down a waiter/ress walking by who's serving their section. The decor' screams Mexican. It's a new restaurant (chain restaurant) so it's clean. Just a chill place to eat. So the food we ate..... You are given Salsa and Chips. I wish the Salsa was thicker for scooping, but I liked the taste. I had the Southwest Quesadillas that I liked. Could have been a bit hotter, but they were probably done before the Fajitas that T ordered and they came out sizzling and they were good. You will probably have to ask for more soft tortillas and toppings. We had too. The Mexicali Wings are delicious. They are tiny wings. But it worked for us. Why? You can see the pepper seeds in the sauce on the wings. They pack a punch. So a smaller wing worked. Dipping in the sauces that was provided took off some of the heat. THIS IS A FORMAL COMPLAINT: On Saturday, 9/13/25 while visiting from Detroit, my family and I had lunch at Mexicali Cantina Grill located at 64 Mazzeo Dr., Randolph MA. My total bill was $144.15 ($121.45 for food, $22.70 for tip). However, I was charged $ 166.85. I was charged twice for tips. After discovering the error on Tuesday, 9/16/25 I returned back to the restaurant and spoke with Marco. He assured me that he would have his manager call me back after 3pm, no one called. On Wednesday, 9/17/25 I returned to restaurant a second time and this time I spoke to a waitress named Janae (she was such a sweetheart and tried her best to help) and once again she assured me that someone would call me to resolve the issue. I gave them a copy of my receipt and showed proof that $166.85 was deducted from my bank account and not the $144.15 that should have been deducted. I asked multiple times to be refunded my $22.70. Once I returned back home to Detroit, I also called on Thursday, 9/18/25 and spoke to Janee again. She said she spoke with the manager and that he would call me back later. However as of today, Friday, 9/19/25, I have not yet heard back from a manager. Therefore, I have no other choice but to dispute the charge with my bank. I think it is deplorable how you overcharge people and refuse to refund them their money. I had a group of 8 people split between two people and you over charged us both! That's 2 for 2 so that is an 100% rate of error! So that leads me to believe that this is something that you do to your customers on a regular basis. Please believe that this is not about the dollar amount! It is shameful how you are willing to take peoples hard earned money. We ate and paid for our food and for the tip. If we wanted to pay more, we would have paid more. However, you double charged us for the tip. I think it is deplorable how you overcharge people and refuse to refund them their money. Never again. Ordered Chile relleno which I always have when I go eat Mexican food. Here, it doesn't come with any chicken although it is listed on top as a choice. Other restaurants we go to always include it. More upsetting, it tasted like microwaved food. The cheese inside tasted like microwaved Kraft cheese which had hardened after cooling off. My husband ordered a burrito which looked like a sandwich fast food burrito and tasted like it too). Restaurant had nice atmosphere and music, but that is all. So we gave it another try last month (on May 4th) and sat at the bar. This bartender was great and we had good food and a good time...so we've gone back twice since then. Both times the bartenders have gotten us a drink then left the bar and sat down, ignoring us for enough time that my drink was empty and we wanted to order food. Both times when he or she finally came back over we just got the check and left to pick up fast food. The food is ok at best here and the service is horrible. Don't go here, please do yourself a favor...grab something from chipotle and a premade margarita from the packy...it's much cheaper and your server at home is much better at the job. read more

We've been waiting for this restaurant to open for so long....then today, on President's Day, they have their grand opening, so my husband and I decided to go and a sample it. The place is beautifully decorated with Mexican art, and Mexican music had me dancing through my meal. The bathroom is nice and clean, too. Our waiter, Jesus, came over right away to explain the menus and take our drink order. We decided on tropical and blue Cielo margaritas. Now for our meal... what to eat..... we ordered a steak quesadilla and chicken burrito bowl along with margaritas. when she got her steak quesadill. there was only half slice of tomato and a "teaspoonful" of lettuce. we asked for more tomatoes and the brought out 3 slice of tomatoes . food was ok . we it was wed so it was 1/4 full and the host kept pacing back and forth , he finally said do you have the check ? I was like our waitress didn't give it to us yet he went off then paced back n forth . when it was time to pay, they charged us 3 bucks for tomatoes ...
