Worst food. Bagged rice can bean. Very cheap with the meat. Service sucks. The food was bad.

The food felt like eating at a friend's house -- warm, comforting, and made with care. Everything tasted homemade and authentic, and the atmosphere made me feel truly welcome. I'll definitely be coming back.

Popeyes Enchiladas Lunch came with Rice and Beans

I was very shocked because my office has had food from here before. So I was very disappointed when I decided my family decided on this place for lunch. We got the asada street taco plate, a couple of extra beef fajita street tacos and the Popeye's enchiladas. The tacos were okay. But the enchiladas were a little disappointing. I got the cheese one and it was supposed to be in a spinach cream mushroom sauce. All of the cheese was not fully cooked through and the spinach wasn't cooked or in the sauce. Just thrown on top. There was no flavor to the sauce at all so it was very disappointing. I'd be willing to try again and maybe this was an off day for them.

So it had been four years since our last visit - we were walking around downtown, got another email threat to our government jobs, and decided that a margarita and some nachos were needed. Any port in a storm, as they say. We have tried to like this place but just can't. The HVAC on the roof was thumping and rattling, making the whole ceiling of the dining area thump and shake. The lights were shaking as was our table. The salsa that came with the chips was really off, watered down and tasteless. I asked for a spicier one, which was a little more flavorful but also watered down. When our nachos came out, we were greeted by a pile of chips heavily coated in mostly melted, not great, probably fake, cheddar cheese. There was a layer of refried beans and grilled chicken underneath. The beans weren't bad, but the chicken was super salty. Very heavily seasoned with what is probably the same seasoning they put on their chips - some sort of seasoned salt concoction. My woman reported her margarita to be "super mix-y." My beer was cold, though. Like I said, this place just isn't too our taste but it seems to be great for others. And that's fine. If you come here just try not to sit directly under the thumping HVAC vent. I don't know how long it will hold. 02.23.25

Excellent service from the server, very attentive. The ambiance is easy and casual with Spanish hits playing . TVs on sports The taco dinner was good. The asada has good flavor. The beans and rice were flavorful. The tacos come with cilantro, onions , lime and spicy salsa on the side . The chicken enchiladas were delicious. Chicken is prepared well. The chips are fresh and the salsa has a good taste not spicy.

this place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. i recently moved to grapevine and back in fort worth there was a mexican place i really enjoyed going to. And here in grapevine i was on a mission to find a new mexican spot i could call my own. I drive by this place many times on my way to work, and stopped in last weekend to check it out. When i got there, it was really crowded inside, but luckily there was an open table so i didn't need to wait. we ended up getting flautas and enchiladas along with a cup of horchata. While we waited for the food to come, they came by and served us chips and salsa. the food didn't take too long to arrive. Both entrees were great, but i feel like they're a tiny bit overpriced for what we got. The service was great, our waiter came by fairly often to check on us. I don't know when they painted the outside, but its not yellow anymore. I'll definitely be back to try the other items.

We love Los Amigos! It's a great value, close to where we live, with good service and really good food! They recently painted the outside of the building, changing it from yellow to white. Not a lot of changed inside, it's still more of a rustic / old Mexican restaurant look. However, It's clean, and well-maintained. Typically, you can just go in and pick where you want to sit. They have a great menu, check it out here in the app. We love the Parrillada! It's a huge portion of chicken, steak, shrimp & sausage served on a hot skillet (fajita style) with onions & peppers. It comes with a bowl of bean soup, refried beans and rice. You can order it for one or two people, however, we can barely eat the portion for one person! Of course, chips and sauce are included with all your meal, at no additional cost. The chips are thin, hot and crisp. Love their salsa, just the right amount of bite and flavor! It may not fully deserve 5 stars, but for what it is, that's our rating. If you haven't been there lately, you really need to come back. If you're in the area and haven't tried it, now is the time!

Great Food, Great Service! I have seen this place for years but for some reason never came in. Boy was I missing out! I ordered the Chicken Fajita Taco Lunch. It came with 2 tacos that were generously filled, rice and beans. Also, I got a small cup of bean soup with the order. Everything was great!

Complimentary Bowl Bean Soup, it's so good, throw in a couple chips and salsa... magic.

This place is a hole in the wall and I loooove me a good hole in the wall. I don't want fancy plates with okay-ish food, I want a homey atmosphere and friendly service and amazing food. Their street tacos are so good, perfect size with rice and beans. My friend loves the chicken fajita flautas, and she's been coming to this place for 20+ years. You even get a free beer or margarita with your food. But. None of that compares to the amazing salsa. I had to order a pint to go. It's some of the best salsa I've ever had. It's like salsa and pico had a baby, and they don't cook it. I cannot stand cooked salsa. The point of salsa is fresh. Great experience, grew up in Grapevine but live in Hurst, can't believe I have never eaten here. Cannot wait to go back.

I arrived during the lunch rush, and both the parking lot and the restaurant were packed. Even though they were extremely busy, we were immediately greeted by a courteous and polite young man who quickly escorted us to a booth. We were seated in Ms. Maria's section, and she was a wonderful server. She greeted us with a warm smile, brought us menus along with the lunch menu, chips and salsa, and promptly served our water. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and was friendly, attentive, and very courteous throughout our meal. The chips and salsa were very good. My only suggestion would be to offer a salsa without cilantro for those who prefer it. We ordered the Create Your Own Combo Plate, which included a chicken flauta, a crispy taco, rice, and refried beans topped with cheese for $15.50. The taco was perfectly crispy and well seasoned, while the chicken flauta was covered in a flavorful red chile sauce that had just the right amount of heat. The rice and refried beans were seasoned perfectly and complemented the meal well. We also ordered the chimichanga, smothered in cheese sauce and served with rice and refried beans, for $16.00. It was well seasoned, delicious, and satisfying. The flavors weren't overpowering--they were balanced and enjoyable, making it a dish I would gladly order again. This was my first visit to Mi Dia From Scratch, and I came away very impressed. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and the restaurant also offers a nice outdoor seating area. Between the excellent service and flavorful food, I will definitely be back. I hope you'll give it a try too!

Mesa's is just a few minutes drive from Gaylord so it is super convenient. The ambience is pleasant and open and in general it was fine. The restaurant was clean with plenty of seats and parking outside. I did not get a "homey" feel but that may be just me. Our server was attentive and efficient. No problems or complaints. The free chips and salsa were good but not outstanding. The salsa was warm and obviously homemade, but it lacked kick. It was tasty but not "OMG this is good." I started with a cup of Roberto's queso which is the standard queso cheese with some ground beef, pico, and a tablespoon of guacamole. It too was good but not outstanding. I am not sure what it was missing but there was something that was needed. I had the two beef tacos and they were just average. Not much flavor or anything distinctive. The ground beef was not well seasoned so they were kind of bland. The rice and black beans were also kind of bland. Frankly, my tacos at home are better. The wife had the taco salad and liked it, although it did not come with any dressing. She used the salsa. Not sure if that was an oversight or that is the way the salad is served. She was also happy that they serve Negro Modelo on tap, so she was happy. The kid had nachos with black beans and cheese and did not complain. Overall, the meal was fine, nothing was terrible, but nothing really stood out as a compelling reason to return.

Such was the case recently when we paid a visit to Mesa. The first order of business was getting an appetizer to go with the chips and salsa. Upon the server's recommendation we got the queso Blanco. It was quite possibly the blandest queso I have ever eaten. At this point I started to worry that it was a sign of things to come. However, the extra spicy salsa that we also requested to go with the chips was more flavorful and gave me hope for the entrees. The good news is that my chicken and cheese enchiladas turned out to be better than the insipid appetizer. The not so good news is that it was still a mediocre meal. The rest of my family had mixed feelings about their food. My husband, who got 2 beef enchiladas, said his were overly salty but otherwise average. The bacon wrapped shrimp that my mother got were a little overcooked but she liked the sides. Both of my sons' entrees, the Mesa burrito and the chicken strips, were very well received. People like to say that even when pizza is bad it's still good. For me, that also applies to Tex-Mex. But, considering the plethora options out there, I doubt I will be returning anytime soon.

Yet, for the longest time, Baja Mex Grill did just that by serving the strongest margaritas in town. In fact, I had always heard that there was a limit of 2 per person. Although it may have only been a rumor, it was a good policy nonetheless (I speak from experience!) Even if margaritas weren't your thing, the food still held it's own. Basically, you couldn't go wrong with a visit here no matter your preferences. I don't know exactly when or how many times the ownership changed over the years, but apart from the name, nothing about this place is the same today. It was immediately evident upon being served chips and queso that both seemed like they came straight from a package. The extra hot salsa we requested turned out to be a creamy, green concoction that had a jalapeno-y flavor, but somehow still wasn't spicy. I will give them credit, however, for a very tasty regular salsa that appeared to be made in house. For my entree I ordered the Picante Enchiladas. Contrary to what the name implies there was no detectable heat. Furthermore, the grilled chicken on top had the distinct flavor of a frozen version made by Kroger. Once again, that prepackaged element reared it's ugly head. My husband and sons were mostly underwhelmed by their meals as well. The phrase "I've had better" was echoed around the table. And, they aren't normally a picky bunch! Our server brought everything out quickly, checked on us often, and kept our drinks topped up throughout our meal. So kudos to him! I have said this before, but it bears repeating. The Tex Mex arena is far too competitive for mediocre food like they serve here. It's a shame that a place I once considered to be 4-5 star establishment barely earns 3 stars now.
