I have no idea why this place only has 3.9 stars. It's so freaking good guys. Flautas dipped in queso could be from the gods.

We have been coming to Grapevine FOR YEARS! We ALWAYS pass by here...I've been afraid to try because I'm always a little leery of these small Mexican restaurants. But my craving for menudo finally took me here! And oh, we have been missing OUT. First, the chips are good, but the salsa needs a little help. It's literally chopped tomatoes. My five year old was eating it by the spoonful, so that should tell you about the heat. My husband ordered their fajita nachos. They came out EXACTLY like he likes them, with just beans, meat and melted cheddar cheese. He really liked them, and he's pretty hard to please. I took a piece of one of the fajitas, and YUM. Soft, tender, and flavorful. Just like my husband is a connoisseur of nachos, my five year old is picky about his cheese enchiladas. This kid annihilated them. He just kept eating and eating, and then looked down and said, "Mommy! Those were so good! They're gone!" My menudo was decent. I'm picky about my menudo. The flavor was there, needed a bit more salt and it smelled a bit...like they hadn't cleaned it enough. But it killed my craving. So points for that. We will most DEFINITELY be back...and I'd love to try their fajitas or street tacos. So glad we finally stopped in. Will be out go to while in Grapevine! read more

Came here for dinner with friends. This is a very local, hole in the wall restaurant. Our waitress was excellent, super friendly and attentive. Free chips and salsa, yum! I ordered the veggie fajitas, served with super fresh guacamole, salsa, rice & beans! It comes with a pork bean soup and the waitress was great and informed me so I didn't eat it. This is BYOB, but the entree meals come with a beer. read more

Love love love this place! Went to dinner with family, a group of 5, and were able to sit down immediately even though they were pretty busy. Drinks were brought minutes after being seated as well as chips and salsa. It was very fresh, like they make it in house. We ordered a bowl of queso and it was good. Not hands down best ive had but pretty good. There was a special that evening that was 3 enchiladas, chicken or cheese, topped with jalapeño queso and a side of refried beans and rice. Not to.mention before the meal came out we were each given a bowl of charro beans, which were much appreciated!! Other than the refried beans being a little salty everything was thoroughly enjoyed. Also the boyfriend got beef enchiladas and tacos and each had potatoes mixed in. We were immediately given a table with a smile. Within seconds a waitress came over to take our drink order. Fresh warm chips were brought to our table along with 2 great tasting salsa. The inside ambience is very inviting, clean, and light music playing. The juevos rancheros and barbacoa tacos were amazing. This is a traditional Mexican spot, not fancy, no bar (BYOB), but very good and fresh food. I really like that you can get a street taco plate with extra tacos and skip the rice and beans. Each meal is served with a comp app of bean stew with some veges and meat. Free beer with each meal does not hurt. My favorite is the caliente chicken enchilada. It has a delightful light cheese sauce complemented with jalepenos that enhance the food but do not burn you. Just ask for a side of there scratch made hot salsa if you want more zip. read more

It's traditional tex-mex, and they overuse the lard or bacon grease. You taste it in everything including the chips. I made the mistake of ordering the chile relleno with just cheese instead of ordering something from the vegetarian section. My mistake that I didn't specify I wanted vegetarian rice and beans. At least I hope that is what is served in the dishes from the vegetarian section. The combination of lard, abundant monterrey jack cheese, and other seasoning just made the dish too salty. The service was friendly. They do not have an alcohol license so it's BYOB. Hell they give you free beer and margaritas on Friday and Saturday. I could have used some to temper down that salt. read more

Decided to order from this place hoping to find a good place to get tortas. We ordered a torta, fajitas and a flan. The only decent thing in there was the fajita meat. The torta had mayonnaise even after requesting it off, the bread was soggy and over all the flavors just got all squished together. The flan looked disgusting, I wasn't brave enough to even try it. I went to Los Amigos a few weeks ago after the wine festival in Grapevine. Honestly I didn't know what to expect, but was very satisfied. I arrived was quickly seated and served delicious chips and salsa. I ordered the lunch quesadilla. I received a nice bowl of black soup before my meal arrived. The soup was good. After receiving my lunch quesadilla I was happy. The quesadilla and the side beans and rice were good. I'd advise anyone who looking for reasonably priced Mexican food come here. read more

I'll be honest, I love Mexican food, but I tend to avoid it for personal reasons. I have no self control. You put endless chips and salsa in front of me and I just cant stop eating. "More chips? Sí!" That being said, the food here is very good. Salsa is very fresh tasting, not quite hot (as in spicy, the salsa is cold, the way I like it) enough for my preference, but OK. Maybe they have a hotter option? Most places do. I forgot to ask. Decent lunch specials too, and available on weekends. Lunch special and a free beer makes for a very nice meal. Service is always very good. Friendly and helpful staff. Several TVs too if you are trying to keep an eye on a game. Bottom line: Good choice for Mexican in Grapevine. Always a great place for delicious Mexican food. Their salsa is always tops. The menu has a ton of authentic dishes to offer. Fajitas are about average, however, their brisket tacos are delicious. Always take a look at "specials" wall. Always changing to something fresh and new. The bean soup is nice and filling. Tamales are pretty good to. Really fast service for anything you ask for. Sunday brunch here is nice and relaxing. It almost feels like family when you walk in and banter with the wait staff. I always enjoying coming here for brunch, lunch and dinner. read more

I've been enjoying Mexican food at Los Amigos for over 25 years. I used to dine here about twice a month with my children when we lived in Grapevine. Good Tex Mex. Friendly fast service. You can at least carry on a conversation and not be drowned out by the noise or the music. The bean soup is great, same recipe as when I originally dined here. Chips are great. Salsa could have used a little more seasoning. Easy parking. Good to see a family Tex-Mex restaurant still surviving in the tourist focused Grapevine. read more

We were staying at the Gaylord and decided to check this place out for dinner. First, I highly recommend you come hungry! It is so much food! We could have split a few entrees and been fine. The salsa and queso were fresh and delicious. The charro bean soup was a nice surprise. Everyone loved their dinner. Again, it is so much food. Not bad for a tex-mex resto. Had lunch with family from Wichita and they enjoyed pretty much what each ordered. Did not get to take pictures of each one's order but they did enjoy the food. They got pretty much what a Mexican restaurant can offer . Street tacos are good to try too with of course different meat selections I had the beef taco and cheese enchiladas topped with meat sauce and it filled me up real good.. I got a picture of my husband's street tacos and he had brisket, carnitas and barbacoa and all taste pretty good. When in grapevine downtown, try it . Omg they have the best steak fajitas I've ever tasted in my life!! No exaggeration. The steak is super tender and NOT weird like most places. It's as if it melted in my mouth. This Los Amigos restaurant has really good food; al pastor tacos are what I had. My advice, if in downtown Grapevine, is to definitely make the little-bit-further walk from the train stop or where parked to here. It really is close and you cannot miss the unique bright yellow boxy building. If for no other reason, go here for the gorgeous Mexican murals on the walls, and there is sports television on the Spanish language TV. Came here for dinner while in Texas. I had the Reynosa and it was really good. Other members of our group had the chalupa and veggie fajitas. The food was really good, but the service was top notch. Our waitress was very nice and polite and the service was very prompt. The restaurant has a very homey, family-owned feel to it. FYI it is BYOB, however you can get a free Coors Light with your meal. I ordered mixed Fajitas and somewhere along the way the beans slid all over the FAJITAS. I've worked from scratch TEXMEX at Uncle Julio's as a server and this is not okay... Door Dash or not this is not good TEXMEX.. its just a Tex Mess.... I wouldn't recommend this place.. Rice is flavorless... BEANS have more flavor than most of the meal so the MEAT was ruined where it was touched by the Frijoles.. Not Okay even during COVID. ONLY reason it gets 2 stars idk what they're doing or why they're giving it to these bad drivers...
