The first time we went to this restaurant the food was great! I had the blueberry pancakes. This recent visit was not so good! The crepes were awful and when I let the waitress know, she did offer me something else but since we were all finished eating when she asked, I said no thanks. We should have given us a discount on the meal but they didn't. The waitress agreed with me that the butter was left out of the fridge and tasted bad to her. That is never a good thing! I see this place gaining some traction so I'm gonna go ahead and WARN everyone.... I would not come here if it were the last restaurant on earth. My boyfriend ordered the lobster eggs Benedict and had the most awful food poisoning with symptoms that lasted for a week straight. He called the restaurant to let them know (not even to complain, he just wanted to alert them!!!) and they were not sympathetic whatsoever, didn't even apologize. Wow, what a great find! We love this place--starting with the beverages, great that they give you your own personal carafe of coffee and a very tall glass for their iced tea and fountain drinks. They aren't stingy. The menu gives so many options and so far, the cinnamon roll French toast and the country fried steak.... SOOOO GOOD. Our server, Regi, was attentive and friendly. Went shopping at the Camarillo Outlets. Very lucky to have happened upon Loru's Cafe. First time here. Ordered the California Club. It was tasty and so big I was able to split it and was still very satisfied. Bread was perfectly toasted. Fries piping hot. Server automatically placed it on two dishes for us as he heard we wanted to split it. Service was fast, attentive, and friendly. Ambiance was very pleasant. Next time I'm at the Outlets I'm coming back. I know this sounds too good to be true and you think it's a fake review, but it's not. We were very impressed and happy. Been her a few times before never had an issue. I went on my birthday for breakfast, there was no wait we got sat immediately (it was a Saturday), as soon as we sat the waiter was at the table, got our drink placed and received the drinks was asked if we were ready to order or need more time, we asked for more time, no more than a minute later he's already back asking if we're ready. We felt alittle pressured like we had to order right then and there so we didn't really have much time to look at the menu. Once we got the food it was luke warm, pancakes seem to be under cooked ( very doughy tasting in the middle) didn't even eat, my friend was eating the toast with hers the waiter sees she's working on the the toast and as he goes to take the plate with toast on it he asks can I take the plate she says no I'm still working on it. Why would he start to take plates away with food on it if customers are still eating the food! After a few minutes the waiter comes and says here's your check who's the rich one of the two? What is the suppose to be mean, can someone explain! Never asked if there was anything else we wanted to order or anything! I really enjoyed Eggs Benedict breakfast, and hubby enjoyed his Huevos Rancheros. We both managed to wipe our platters clean. Service was excellent, super friendly smiles - really nice vibe. We really appreciated the extra carafes of hot coffee so we could top ourselves up. When I was a kid, and growing up, a diner breakfast was not something we had to think hard about before indulging in. The food is okay. The pictures of the food look better than in person. The food is not the best but not the worst. Definitely like diner food, so I'd say this is a slight cut above Denny's. The portions are huge, but the ingredients are not the best quality. Ordered breakfast with 3 other people a few days ago. The breakfast potatoes were way too mushy, and the flavors were okay. I am suspicious that the potatoes are cooked out of a frozen package but I'm not sure. My friend and I ordered eggs Benedict--both of our hollandaise sauce were way too buttery. You could see the butter and egg yolk separating in the sauce, and it was greasy--this indicates that it was not prepared properly. The toast was soggy instead of toasted. The slab of ham looked super cheap, and my friend and I barely ate it. It basically looked like spam. The overall taste of the food was okay. Service was good. Probably won't return. Management should invest in higher quality ingredients and recipes --and listen to the one and two star reviews if they keep saying they value feedback from months ago. read more

I visited for Mother's Day with three moms in my family and had a lovely time. The food was delicious! They have an excellent selection and even a vegan burger which I ordered and devoured. Our server Xochitl and the staff were all very attentive and even gifted the mothers in our group roses, it was a wonderful gesture. However our food did take an extra length of time to come out while we had no modifications and tables sat after us received food before us. To be honest we didn't notice the extra wait until our server apologized and we realized those around us were nearly finished. Maybe they lost the ticket. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would come again to experience the ambiance on a day that isn't as bustling as Mother's Day. Ps. The onion rings are bomb!! read more

Worst place in Camarillo!! Had Easter breakfast there and I ordered Ortega cheese omelet with crispy bacon! The omelet had no cheese inside and they slapped a piece of sliced cheese on top. The food was ok...you can tell it's not freshly made, a lot of microwaved stuff. But the decor....the fake flowers on the tables really make it look cheap. The floors were sticky. Came here based on yelp reviews and I was not disappointed. The service is so friendly and fast, the restaurant is cute with lots of seating inside and out. I ordered the poblano eggs Benedict and it was outstanding. A little spicy which I love! I had the home fries crispy and they were a delight. My husband ordered the huevos rancheros with hash browns. It was also really good but the poblano eggs Benedict was the hit of the day. Will definitely return here regularly. read more
