I have 5 stores hooked up with their systems, mostly purchased from Costco, 2 of them direct from lorex. They are real crap and fail in no time, not so much so the cameras, maybe had few cameras over 40 that went bad, but the dvrs are shit like no other shit out there. Its bad, its crap, and their remote viewing software for android (most used mobile os in the world) is crappier than crap. one of my units again died and called for warranty support, it took an idiot from another part of the world 25 minutes to take my name, phone number address and serial number, than put me on hold, than disconnected. when called back, another person started the whole thing, this time it was quicker, he said he will escalate my issue to higher support and put me on hold, about 40 minutes later, I hung up. got on to amazon and ordered an ANNKE system for $59, arrived in a day, swapped the HD from piece of shit lorex to ANNKE, connected existing lorex cameras and in a minute I was up and running. I guess I can safely say, GO TO HELL LOREX, you have several thousands of $$ from me, you lost me and many others I will influence forever. ANNKE wins, atleast, if it fails, its cheap enough to buy another one, my 2 hours wasted is worth more than $59 and the headache. read more

I purchased an LHA4000 Series Surveillance system in August 2018 and installed it at my vacation home. The picture from the cameras when tested were quite good. The problem however was trying to install their client for remote viewing on my Mac using the Mojave operating system. The process seemed simple enough but the remote client simply DOES NOT WORK. Several calls to Lorex would indicate that they don't take this seriously and there seems to be no attempt to update their remote viewing client. Without the remote viewing capability, the cameras are really useless so DO NOT BUY this system until you have verified that the remote viewing client works with your Mac/PC. read more

They refused to accept my credit card as payment without me having to send them a colour copy of two paper bills showing my name and billing address in order to verify my billing address. Not Impressed at all! Do Not order from Lorex! Ordered a LWF1080B-66 3 weeks ago, 21 days ago!...this 6 camera system was to be delivered within 5 to 10 business days. I received an email yesterday, 21 days, 3 weeks after I ordered the system stating that Lorex was cancelling my order...no mention as to why, just if I wanted more informaiton, to call their 1-888 number. So I call the number last evening and am told that no one is working that would be able to help me, call back in the morning. I call back, and over the course of 1hour and 10 minutes, get shuffled between 3 departments. I did not speak to any of the three that long, I was mostly on hold those 70 minutes! I am then told that the product is on back order and they do not know when it will be available but hey, they are offering me a 20% discount on another system that would cost me $400.00 dollars more, WOW what a deal!...NOT I ask, why did you permit the order to go through if it was not available?...all I get is sorries...not helpful when I required the device 2 weeks ago! Worst support service possible. Worst NVR/DVR quality possible. Buy from this company if you are a sadist that loves to be abused and jogged around to no end. I had a NVR system with 8 cams that worked good for 8 months. Until the NVR died. On hold for 45 minutes to get a replacement which was promptly back-ordered. They will willingly sell you an item that they cannot acquire within the next month. Call to check on the order two weeks later - on hold for an hour. Just to be put on hold for another 10 minutes while they "checked my status". They could not tell me when it would ship - "Probably some time next year". Avoid their products unless your into buying sub-par equipment at premium prices and love to be on hold for hours on end to get nowhere at all. They have sent me replacement cameras that didn't even work. The worst customer service I have EVER encountered and I used to work in customer service. They are hard to understand and only read their script. You ask for help that's not on it and they just keep repeating the same thing over and over. If you contact them you had better record the conversation because they don't talk to each other or write any notes of what they agree to after you do get someone to talk to you like a human being. Heed all of these negative reviews and SAVE YOURSELF the distraught of dealing with this company! No joke and I'm not over exaggerating. Save yourself. If I could give a negative star I would. This is my second purchase from Lorex. I have never seen a more complicated process to purchasing an item. Do NOT buy from them, always buy it from Costco or Amazon if you HAVE to purchase. The first time I purchased I was waiting WEEKS. They didn't have one item and failed to tell me so it delayed the $2,000+ purchase weeks with ZERO communication. I finally got in touch and I spent 3 DAYS getting it straightened out. This is ridiculous. Finally after continued effort it was resolved. Now I am purchasing a second time, so I MADE SURE it was in stock before order. Well now they have to verify something minor and it is delayed AGAIN! The only reason I found out was because I was aware that they are completely incompetent and I would need to be on top of them to get my order at all. Now I am on the phone for hours yet again over something that I was sure wouldn't be a problem. This is quit possibly the worst company in terms of service I have ever seen. I never write reviews but I feel like people need to know that you should go through someone else like amazon for their cameras because you will end up with problems dealing directly with Lorex, and they have systems on the website for sale, but they do not tell you if it is in stock. When you do make a purchase they will ultimately fail in some way so make sure not to have a deadline with them because you will miss it. In the future I will be finding another security provider or I will deal with someone other than lorex. The cameras are okay, the zoom is terrible even with the high resolution so its impossible to make out license plates even with the 4k. It breaks a lot but its cheap. Do not buy this garbage technology, I switched from ring wireless and paid a licensed company to hard wire the house and I switched to lorex, this is by far the worst company you can choose!!! They probably pay google a lot money so these reviews won't show up, my house and my kids are at risk, the quality is garbage for the price, most importantly the app you cannot use it or play back, please guys do not buy them I'm fighting through Twitter now to get this system refunded, you cannot log in properly the app you cannot use, they should take responsibility if someone has an situation, I can guaranteed everyone is having the same problem! Had a security camera system professionally installed, when I really needed it the camera that I really needed failed (NO VIDEO POWER TO CAMERA WAS FINE). The secondary camera was working, after fighting the dvr for 2 days because the mouse didn't show a cursor I got poor quality useless video. My advice look elsewhere! read more

The Lorex system is not too bad initially. I've had mine for a few years. They no longer support the software. I am unable to view remotely from my phone. Buy this system if you don't mind replacing the entire system periodically so you can have a properly working system. read more

I purchased the lorex 4k system in January of 2018, the system itself is ok. The customer service and app are horrible. I had also purchased the flir secure add for rapid recap and 1 month storage. It was not working and took over 3 months to resolve the issue. This was after at least calling back 10 times to make sure the ticket was being worked. They also kept cancelling my ticket because "they are waiting on me to respond" had to call back several times to tell them they were working on the ticket and it had not been resolved. Recently one of my cameras went out, after being on the line with the rep for over an hour trying to resolve the issue, he hangs up and does not call back. I finally got through to someone else, now they are saying it will be over 10 days to get a replacement. Ok products, horrible, horrible customer service and app. I would recommend not buying any products from this company just because of their horrible customer service. read more

The product is easy to use and set up, but if you need Customer Support, clear your schedule for the next week and make sure your cell phone charger is near by, I spent most of the past 3 days on hold with these idiots and when I finally get through I got disconnected. DEFECTIVE PRODUCT: Lorex Security System Model #TN81828B8-E Purchase Date: Oct 27, 2019 Purchase Price: $799/ Costco PROBLEMS w/system immediately correspondence began November 17 Motion Deterrence on cameras does not activate security light. 1 camera is offline consistently. System not accessible via phone, computer, or Alexa as promised in advertising. We have exchanged 22 emails & 10 phone calls for a total of 6 hrs with tech support on our computer accessing our system. Phone calls involve 1 troubleshooting call & 3 remote tech support agents. Other calls following up on why replacement has not been sent as promised, now they want another remote session. The following is a detailed list of all communications with them & the results. Brand new system never has worked. You cannot communicate with delivery people on your porch or intruders as this system promises because remote access does not work. Also no deterrence lights to discourage intruders. Oct 27 Purchase: Nov 17 Email sent notifying Lorex of problems; Nov 19 Email recd w/instructions how to set the deterrence lights; Nov 20 Email recd stating case will be closed if we do not respond in 5 days; Nov 21 Email recd stating case will be closed if we do not respond in 2 days; Nov 23 Email recd stating case will be closed if we do not respond in 1 day; Nov 23 Email recd stating our case has been put on hold (5 days cut to 3); Nov 30 Email sent telling them our issue is not resolved explaining the problem again; Dec 1 Email received w/written instructions again how to set the cameras; Dec 4 Email received stating our case was put on hold until we respond; Dec 5 Called them twice. Second call took 1 hr & 49 min, we hosted a remote session on the phone & online with tech support in our system on our computer. Tech support VERIFIED that the system would not hold the settings as we had stated Dec 5 Email recd asking for more information which we filled out & sent while we were still on the phone. A summary quote from this email: " After you have replied to the email we have sent with all the information needed to process your replacement, you will receive another email within the next 3-5 business days, letting you know about the tracking number of the replacement item that will you receive.You will also be receiving a shipping label so that you can return the equipment within 5 business days after you have receive the unit to ensure the process is fulfilled." Dec 17 called them-no tracking had been received as promised via Dec 5 email gave them more info. (21 min); Dec 23 email received-our case is on hold until we give them more info; Dec 23 called them-gave them MORE info. (51 Minutes) They promised both a DVR & Camera would be shipped & we should receive the replacement in 7-10 days; Jan 7 called them again.No item received.They stated our replacement was ready & going out that day. Look for tracking via email; Jan 11 called them again-no tracking had been recd; Jan 14 email recd w/tracking number Jan 17 recd replacement camera-waiting for DVR so we can install new equipment all at once; Jan 20 called Lorex again.Still no DVR replacement.They said replacement was sent & received. Told them we only received camera no DVR replacement. They said DVR had been overlooked & they thought a new camera was all that was needed. Also that we had a "Tier 1" tech do our remote session on Dec 5. We needed a "Tier 2" AND adequate notes were not taken during the previous 2 hr session. We required a new remote session properly handled. ANGRY, but agreed to jump through the newest hoop. We set up & proceeded to allow them into our system on our internet connection & computer while holding the phone for another 2 hrs. ANOTHER tech confirmed that our system was faulty. We were told the correct notes were taken this time & our replacement would be on its way. They said having it at the "Tier 2" level would make a difference; Jan 27 called Lorex again, (1hr) we had received no tracking or correspondence regarding replacement. We were told previous remote session was not properly handled & we needed a "TIER 3" tech to do ANOTHER remote session. Lorex has no plan to warranty system. Feb 1, preparing to leave town called tech support to see if we could least restore remote access via phone or computer. Another 2 hr session on the phone with them in our system. They could not fix. Had us running around hooking/unhooking and working our phones. When I looked up at my computer & found the tech accessing my Google Fiber Bill & settings. I asked what they were doing, they said they were setting up port forwarding. We had had enough. The remote access had worked for a brief time with the existing settings. I did not appreciate their people roaming around my computer changing settings & accessing our personal information. A complaint has been filed with BBB. read more

I posted a review on their website, was then told it would be reviewed. Based on this review, I received a call from their CSR who said they would call me back with a solution, they never did. But they also did not post my review to their website. They deleted it or refused to post it even though it was completely honest. So, not telling you not to buy their products, but if you're going to base your decision on honest reviews, go to external websites like Amazon or anywhere else to see the good and the bad. FLIR Systems, Inc. replaced my Lorex unit. I am happy to report that the fan in the new unit is working fine. No more sleepless nights! Thank you Steve and Lorex by Flir. You took the time to care about your customers and provided outstanding service. "Happy in Phoenix." I purchased the Lorex LHV210800 Digital Video Surveillance Recorder at Costco on 12/31/2015. The video images are crisp and the DVR records approximately 1 week of footage (the length of time depends on the resolution you choose for your images). Please note that the connectors on the back of the DVR are set very close together, so it makes installation of camera cables a bit difficult, but can be accomplished with patience. Approximately one month ago the DVR started making "dragging noises" as if going through some type of back-up cycle, and now hums constantly, almost like when you purchase a radio alarm clock that has built in sounds to help a person sleep. The DVR sounds as if it is simulating "wave or snoring" sounds. I contacted customer service and they referred me to their Technical Department. Sadly, the Technical Department informed me that my warranty was no longer valid, even though I did extend my warranty on-line. Apparently, I extended a warranty that was already expired. What a shame that my Lorex system started making these "dragging noises" right after my warranty expired. These noises keep me awake at night. The surveillance monitor and recorder is located in my bedroom, and the awful noise interrupts my sleep. If you are a light sleeper, I recommend that you do not purchase this Lorex system, or ensure you purchase a warranty that lasts longer than one year. I am disappointed with the company for not offering to fix their product. I paid almost five-hundred dollars for this product at Costco, and the constant motor sound in my bedroom and lack of sleep is not worth it. Sad in Phoenix. read more

If I could give them a -10 I would. The cameras are junk. I have video during the day on all 4 cameras but night vision works only in one camera. It was installed by a certified electrician and Lorex cannot tell me why night vision doesn't work. To test, they want me to remove all cameras and reinstall one by one testing them. What a crappy system. I have Nest and night vision is amazing. To add to Lorex problems the app is not user friendly. Will never buy again nor recommend. read more

What a nightmare... Be prepared to spend an hour plus any time you call their customer service or tech support with little to no help. They will not stand behind their products, state warranty starts at order date even if order takes 3 months to ship. They also use the brand FLIR. Stay away from both. read more

These cameras are terrible. I ordered the 2 camera system and they sent us 4 cameras by mistake. We got these cameras because we can't see our driveway from inside the house so we don't know when somebody is here. We set one up facing the driveway and another facing the door. IF someone actually set it off (most of the time they triggered when the wind blew but not when someone actually crossed its path), often you didn't see the person because by the time it started recording, they were no longer in the frame. We had a UPS delivery and the cameras never triggered at all. Not by the truck or the driver walking around. If they did happen to record anything, sometimes it was for 1 second, like a still shot and other times it could record for 30 seconds and get absolutely nothing. I wouldn't recommend the cameras to anyone. The phone app is also very slow. It could take up to 5 minutes or longer to get the notification that a camera was triggered. Not good enough when you are basically using these cameras as a doorbell. I returned them for a full refund. read more

On Cyber Monday I ordered a wireless 4 camera system. I also ordered 1 extra battery pack and 1 extra power supply. I received an email right after I ordered my items saying some items may be delayed. It doesn't say which items. After that I received a big box with the 4 camera system in it minus the 2 extra items I ordered. I called Lorex Customer Service requesting some sort of email documentation stating what is missing from my order. Customer Service rep. told me they are not in same country as shipping and the they cannot see the email I first mentioned regarding the order may be shipped incomplete. Next the customer service rep. asked me to take a picture of the box and send it to them. I told her I already threw away the big box. I told her a better way would be to go by weight. Weigh a box with the main camera system and then add the missing items, compare the weight to the shipping weight. She agreed that was a better idea. I got a case number and they are looking into it. Save yourself a lot of frustration and do not waste your time buying from this company. The products are pretty good but the customer service is so bad it's just not worth the frustration. read more

If I could give this business ZERO stars - I would. My biggest gripe: I've been a customer for years, have literally spent tens of thousands with this company over the years. The equipment is awesome, the customer service is NON-EXISTENT. I've spent over an hour on hold waiting to talk to someone. Ran out of time, called again in the afternoon. After 35 minutes on hold I hung up. I then created a customer service ticket, emailed support, and even opened a support chat session... same story.. waited an waited for an agent, then the chat interface timed out after 30 minutes. I bought a $4k nocturnal camera and NVR kit. Only received a partial shipment - order was placed a month ago. All I wanted was a status update. But because of the lack of service/ support - I will never do business with this company again. Unfortunately I'll be forced into filing a dispute with my credit card company. Unreal. It really is a shame. Just run a Google search on Lorex customer service. Across many sites, it's one star. All the same complaint.. "terrible customer service". This company has git to be the worst to deal with hands down. They constantly put you on hold and never seem to address the problem at hand. I purchased two systems and had two cameras that would not function despite taking instruction form their tech. rep (2.5 hours). Finally they agreed to send two new cameras. Fast forward 1.5 weeks and I received the two cameras. One camera was the correct model but the second camera was the wrong model. I called them to report the problem and once again all they can say is sorry and please hold on while they check with god knows who to return with no answer to the problem. Second time my husband and I have used them. We bought our first camera system from Costco. Great product. Easy to use. Tech support was very helpful when we had a question. We needed to buy a new dvr. Because we had a problem with the old one we had for four years. Again Customer service was wonderful and very helpful. We bought a new dvr. We were given a delivery due date that was acceptable. We got our new dvr a week earlier than expected. We will continue to use them. I have purchased 3 DVR since Nov. 2015 and still do not have a properly operating equipment. I hate their equipment and am angry at myself for wasting so much money and many many days on the phone with tech support. I have found that some of the tech support people are really nice and understanding. Like 20% of them are wonderful. English is NOT their first language and it becomes challenging when trying to acquire important information when you do not understand them. I have had to have them 'spell' the word most of the time. I wish I would never purchased from Lorex, I will never again, and I will warn everyone on Yelp, Amazon.co, BBB, Twitter and FaceBook not to be taken in for their non working equipment. Today, talking to CUSTOMER SERVICE LEVEL #6 "ROGE" and asking for some help with my many issues, he says, "Can't help you" and then HUNG UP on me. I purchased a Lorex cameras security system, installed everything my self as I have experience on those things....it worked fine for about 11 month when 2 cameras started to fail and the recorder was rebooting on its own, I knew it came with a year warranty so I call their customer service, after long hold I talk to rep who connect my call to talk to tech support....after another long hold finally talk to the tech I explained what's happening and then he started to tell me all this steps and things to do , reboots, unplugs, cord changes, and things I knew I didn't need to do, they tell me to try that for a couple of days and if didn't work call back , so I did and called back when they gave me more instructions and ask me to try and call back again. I stoped calling back for about a week since it was annoying having to wait so long on hold. Problem wasn't solve so I call again after that week and they said I would need to send the system for repairs but the warranty was expired now and they needed a supervisor to approve the repairs, someone would be in contact with me .... That never happened, no one contacted me , when I called back they would just repeat the same "warranty expired you should have call us earlier , supervisor will contact....never happened , I gave up and purchased different brand, happy with it .... My brother just purchased a Lorex system worked great for a week when it started to make extra loud continuous noise so he called in after a few calls and different recommendations tech thought it could be a bad cooling fan ...he was told to create a ticket online , so that started all over again going back and forth with tech, finally they opted to send him a new fan for him to replace , yeap they expected my brother to open the system and replace the fan inside. Long story short, the new fan didn't work, it turns out the hard drive was being loud , not the fan . He continue with the ticket and posted the problem but never receive response again read more

Let's start with: DO NOT BUY LOREX! I purchased a camera system on 12/3/17 and paid $121.00 for expedited shipping, which they claim it is within 4 business days. Well I did not get my complete order until 12/12/17, that was 7 business days after the purchase date. I called 2 times regarding a refund for the expedited shipping fee I paid, both times I was told the request was going to be escalated to management for review and process and that I would get an answer within 48hrs. I never received any response neither one of the 2 times I called. between the 1st and second call were 4 business days. Oh! I forgot to mention, each time I called, there was about 45 minutes to 1 hour wait time on hold. One time I waited 2:02 hours on hold before the call dropped. I finally placed a 3rd call on 12/26/17, 7 business days after my second call. I got the same answer: "ticket was escalated and now you must wait 48hrs for a resolution". Ladies and gentleman! this is the third time I get the same answer! WTF!!!!!!!!!!! I am having my lawyer write a letter to try and handle this differently and hoping to get a real solution other than "please call back in two days and waste another hour of your life on hold". Dear Lorex Technology management, I know you are reading this. Horrible, horrible customer service. I've been trying to contact them for four days now. First by e-mail. No response (still). I then called customer service. I got a phone call about six hours after I had first called (I got put on the waitlist because "the wait time is longer than 30 minutes"). Of course, by that time, I was no longer at home and couldn't use my computer. They promised to call me back two hours later. They did not, which puts me back on the wait list for a call back. To top it off, the reason for my service call is that their cloud system forced me to upgrade to the newest version of their software. The problem is that the newest version of their software (v.37) doesn't support Windows 10. And apparently, at least what I was told by the customer support person (who sounded like she was from India) is that they need to hop onto my system in order to do the patch. Seriously? Why don't you guys document this for people who are tech savvy and who can do this themselves, rather than have a six hour wait for someone from customer support to call you back? Or tell people not to install the new software if they are running Windows 10? Even better, why don't you release software that works with Windows 10, THE CURRENT VERSION OF MICROSOFT'S OS? The biggest problem is that the hardware part of the system is already installed -- and as with a lot of things, the installation was a lot more expensive than the hardware. So I cannot just replace it with someone else. Update: After yet another hours long wait on the waitlist, I got another customer service rep. Guess what? The "patch" isn't actually a patch. Instead, he sent me a link to download the old software and install that on my Windows 10 system. (Gee, why didn't I think of looking for the prior version of the software -- oh wait, I did and it was nowhere to be found.) And why the first customer service rep told me that she needed to hop onto my system is beyond me.... Problem is that the prior version of the software still doesn't provide for easy local access to the DVR (if you're on the same network). This was the reason why I migrated. So, now I'm stuck going through the cloud -- with slow frame rates -- even though I'm at home. read more

Lorex systems generally work pretty well. Their service generally requires a whole day to call in. I tried their online Black Friday sales and waited 3 hours for their sales time to start. As soon as I did, their website went down--at least the part of the site that should have allowed me to concluded one of their sale price items. I resubmitted like 50 times and called customer service and waited some 40 minutes. Nothing happened. I repeated it off and on for hours. Nothing. I contacted customer service the next day and Donna Bella refused to give me the name of her supervisor. And..And the website STILL SAYS NO SUCH WEBSITE EXISTS WHEN YOU TRY TO BUY THAT SALE ITEM. The website does exist but when you press one of their sale items, voila-- the Website doesn't exist. Couldn't buy the sale item from second number 1 (as in 01) and now no supervisor cannot be reached and they won't give a supervisor's name. Survey says????? Bought a one camera with 7" monitor system on 9/6/2016. Downloaded Lorex SD Pro app on iPhone 6 plus. Two-way audio and other features did not work with the app. Reloaded app several times with support on the phone. System did not work with Lorex equipment either. Have gotten run-around since then. He said he would submit problem to software group. Nothing since. Now they are threatening to cancel the thread because of non-response on my part. Lorex also refuses to publish my reviews on their site. 11/17/2016 Supplement to above review. Problem was elevated to home office. After a few email exchanges, the 2-way voice and intermittent event reporting began working as advertised. I don't know how they did it but it works and I am completely satisfied with the system. Not so much with the off-shore product support. Took many phone calls, emails, and reviews to get the problem elevated and resolved. read more

This is the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. Getting through to the tech support is impossible and their web based support is not all that user friendly. I order two separate items on black friday for Christmas. I was billed and received confirmation for both. Both orders were set to deliver by Christmas. On the 20th both items were canceled and the products labeled out of stock. There solution to the problem was telling me that I was more than welcome to purchase some other products that are in stock. Waited 25 days and 2 hours on hold for them to tell me they screwed me. These deals don't exist. They just use them as a ruse to get you to their website. read more

Buyer beware! It is Thanksgiving day. The black Friday sales are on. Lorex is having their Black Friday thievery, rip you off sale. Warning: Before you buy a Lorex system call them to place your order and ask what the warranty is. They will tell you that it is 2 years. You will never ever ever be able to get a defective unit replaced by them. Sneakily they have a 60 day warranty and a 2yr tech. support warranty. Be prepared to camp in front of your telephone for up to 2 days because you will be on hold and and if you leave your number they will never call you back despite what they say. They will never replace a defective component and they will just give you the big run-around as I have been going through 6 months of it. The product will not come with a packing slip so you cannot fill out the application for a claim. There will be no return address so you'll be stuck with a non-working piece of equipment in your living room, sitting in a box till Hell freezes over, as I'm still looking at mine, sitting, with no return address. I have spoken with them so many times that I cannot even count how many. Every time they have agreed there is something wrong with my system but refuse to replace the DV908-DVR. Do not buy this. Go anywhere else. I have researched it, and I am unable to come up with somebody that I can mail this thing back to. They promised I'd have a new one sent out to me, 6 months ago. I have yet to receive it. All I get is the run-around as you will as well. I have received assistance from IT friends of mine to get this thing working and it will not. I have had my IT friends try to speak with them and their tech support people have agreed there is something wrong with my unit and with no resolution to my problem. The worst part about the whole thing was crawling around in the attic in June to run these wires through the house. All I want from Lorex is a replacement DV908-DVR. Once again do not believe anything they tell you. It's all lies. The company is a scam. Save your $265 or more, go to a different company and read up. I cannot put a rating on this company because it would be in the -90's somewhere. Good luck suckers. Don't let them make a fool out of you as they did me. There has got to be a company out there with a better system and with better customer support. Again, try calling customer support. See how far you get even though they will issue you a case number, there will turn out being no number in their records. If you try to write a review on the Lorex site, they will not keep it. They only post the good ones, as they monitor their reviews. Uncle Sam should be on these guys but it's a Canadian company who's products are shipped from Bolivia. So you will never find them.
