If you are looking for a unique and elevated dining experience make your reservation at Lorèn. It is a French inspired Restaurant and Social Club, located underground the Papillon Building. We had been looking forward to visiting and enjoyed every moment. Aesthetics, vibe, staff, chef, plating design, flavors... so many green flags I wish I could date the restaurant Dophine- vodka, black cherry, lime and basil Rouge - beets, cambozola. grilled bread. candied walnuts. hot honey vinaigrette. balsamic Heirloom Tomato & Burrata -pickled beets, stone fruit, arugula, lemon basil vinaigrette, balsamic, crispy prosciutto Grilled Pork Chop- gratin dauphinois, carrot citrus puree, raspberry balsamic puree Fried Calamari - lemon, truffle aioli. crispy basil. Pan seared Fresh Diver Sea Scallops- parmesan risotto, parm crisp, rouille, chive oil Plateau de Desserts - chef's assortment (parfait, eclair, flourless chocolate)

Staff was super friendly. Cozy spot perfect for a date or any occasion. Food was out of this world. We found the place on Seed Oil Scout. Top choice in Spokane. Would highly recommend.

Birthday dinner that was lack luster for sure. Very over priced for the experience. Vodka based cocktail cost $16 served in rocks glass with giant ice cube. Ordered scallops - 3 small scallops with mediocre risotto cost $58. Filet minion came with pastry filled with goo, cost $65, steak was ok. On the bright side, the atmosphere was great. Service was excellent. Maybe a little too hopeful that it would be exceptional.

I've been wanting to try this place for a little bit now and I am glad we finally made it down! My sister and I went together for a much needed night out without husbands or kids and we thought this would be a great place to do it! The atmosphere: this place is located in the basement. The only way to get down there that we saw was the elevator. You walk out and behind these dark curtains is the restaurant. The decor is very hip and inviting. It's dark and intimate. They did a great job at making this the perfect date night. The atmosphere screams upscale (and the prices), but the guests there ranged from very casual to dressy, but not formal. So, if there is a dress code, it's not enforced. Service: We received service right away. When we got there it was only us and one other table, so the service was prompt. As the night went on, and the tables filled, that did shift a little. However, it wasn't terrible. Food: My sister and I both started with a salad. I got the Bistro and she got the Heirloom Tomato & Burrata. My salad had a great flavor, but I think it was a little on the salty side even with the candied nuts, and there was a little too much dressing. However, I did still enjoy it. My sister loved her salad and had no complaints. For our entrees we both did the Halibut. The halibut was herb crusted and while the fish was cooked perfectly, the crust was a bit too done on the bottom, which made it hard to cut. The flavor was really good, but my fish was a little too salty for me and the veggies had a smidge too much pepper. I would eat it again though. We got the beignets for dessert and they were so sad. It was like eating a ravioli covered in powdered sugar. They were flat and doughy. Not light, fluffy, and airy with a little crispy outside like a traditional beignet. We couldn't eat them. The berries they served them with didn't help the situation either. It was just a big fail. All in all it was a fun experience with decent food! I'm not sure I would go back, but I'm glad I finally tried it!

The food was delicious yet again. I ordered the filet mignon rare and it was superb. Service was impeccable, and it was my birthday so I got to pick a free dessert from their menu! Atmosphere was a bit dark but it made for a nice intimate experience.

Attended Loren after reading about their opening. The bistro is located a short stroll from the Spokane Arena and the Civic Theater.. Reservations are a must. The bistro is underground and can be reached using the ground floor elevator. The ambiance is upscale and business casual dress is required. I started with a glass of pinot noir and the French onion soup, which was delicious. The main course was seared scallops. The lovely presentation of the dish was matched by it's subtle flavor. I enjoyed the main course with a glass of champagne. The dessert course was the chocolate ice cream and cappuccino. The service was friendly and attentive. The whole experience was deeply satisfying. I was very glad I came.

The entrance is behind a velvet purple curtain which is well done.

Swanky, sexy, European-style underground bistro w/incredible service (thank you, Jamie!). We chose the recommended cocktails, clams, and lamb dish to share which was perfect for night on the town, progressive dinner style. We left utterly satisfied yet longing for more. Absolutely delicious with adaptations for DF /GF.

Went here for my birthday and had a great night. Service was amazing; food was delicious and the drinks were even better. It's a dark, moody atmosphere, worth the pricey menu!

I have nothing bad to say about this place. The service was great the food was even better. We got the burger, roasted chicken and mushroom ravioli. All of those dishes were flavorful and filling. The restaurant can be hard to find but worth it. The basement setting with dimmed lights and stoned walls really sets the mood.

My friends and I came here for the first time for our monthly dinners. Everyone loved the dish they got for dinner. I ordered the Wagyu Shortrib & Mushrom Agnolotti and loved the flavors and everything in it. For dessert, I got the crème brûlée and it was just okay. Service was very good and our waiter was super nice. We had reservations at 5pm on a week day so it wasn't super busy. It was hard to find once I parked and there wasn't any signs, so I had to walk around the whole building before finding the door that would lead me downstairs to Loren. Atmosphere is good. The tables are pretty close together as it is not a huge space to begin with. The good was good and I would definitely come back to try other items on their menu.

Went to dinner for the first time after hearing such good things.... Well this place did not disappoint. It's a small hidden gem with amazing food. We were greeted right away and sat within minutes(we did have a reservation which I highly recommend doing). The low light gave such a relaxing and romantic vibe. The food melts in your mouth and wakes the palate up with such amazing flavor. I would say try this place for your next special event as it is perfect!

My wife could not eat it because the dirt taste was so strong. We are no strangers to escargot either, this was just not good quality. Main course was duck and lamb. It wasn't horrible but definitely not great and *not* French by any extension of the definition. The lamb looked and tasted like something thrown on a backyard BBQ. Presentation on the duck was messy and unattractive but the taste was decent. I think the best tasting thing we had there was the overpriced bottle of wine. The WORST thing about the whole experience, which was really a deal breaker for us, was the service was HORRIBLE. Just awful. The server was a short hobbled middle-aged man with glasses who had no idea what "good service" is. After taking our order he went over to a newly seated table, handed them menus and proceeded to tell them about the "wonderful" Chef Specials for the day. My wife and I looked at each other in shock - he never mentioned anything to us about these specials. So we ate our dirt-flavored escargot while we watched the table next to us eat a very good looking giant prawn with scallops that was never offered to us. Not once during our hour stay did the waiter ask us how our food was or check in with us at all. He basically brought our food to us and didn't come back until we needed the check. No refills on water, no asking if we'd like another bottle of wine, no service that you'd expect for an expensive restaurant what-so-ever. The really sad thing about this lack of service is that the waiter was not busy at all - there were only 2 other tables. I expect a much higher level of service if I'm going to spend $100+ on a meal for two. The final kicker that threw me over the edge was when one of the other tables got up to leave and the customer said, "Thank you, have a good evening." to the waiter but he was so self-absorbed in talking about himself to the other table about how he used to be a General Manager at so-and-so restaurant, knew all the top-chefs and blah-blah that he COMPLETELY ignored the leaving table. We watched him do this TWICE. Twice! Never said "Thank you for coming." or even acknowledged that his customers were leaving the establishment. Even when the customers were addressing him directly, he was so self-absorbed that he effectively ignored his customers. When my wife and I decided to go he was nowhere to be seen for about 10 minutes so we just got up and left. Fraiche has mediocre food and atrocious service. Really atrocious service. If you want something a bit high class, with a nice variety of food and excellent staff try Herbal Essence instead. Fraiche is a joke and I don't see it lasting long unless they do something about their terrible service and lackluster food. We will never go back and will tell all our friends to steer away from there as well.

She kept the meal moving at a comfortable pace with the right amount of attention. THANK YOU! A basket of warm, fresh-baked bread is served after wine is poured, with imported Belgian butter and a tiny ramekin of sea salt for seasoning. Delicious crusty rolls, airy in the center, warm enough to melt the butter. We began with a burrata appetizer. The cheese was excellent - fresh, creamy and a little sweater than mozzarella. It's served on a platter loaded with sliced yellow tomato drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze, tapenade, capers, bruschetta, olives and sliced crisped bread. Plenty to share and delicious! Plenty of entree options on the menu. But if you're at a steakhouse, you order.... STEAK! Opted this time for filet mignon. The test of a great steakhouse is if they serve the steak at the right temperature. Churchill's NAILED IT! Perfectly medium rare, nice crunchy salt & pepper sear on the outside, juicy, dark pink, flavorful and fork tender in the center. This is among the best steaks I've ever had. Others at the table tried a couple of the other available options - bleu cheese topping, oscar-style (asparagus and lump crab meat). All of the steaks were perfect. No room for dessert this time. We vowed to start with dessert next visit. Be aware, this isn't Outback. It's expensive. You're paying for high quality ingredients, skilled kitchen, stellar service and a classy environment. Totally worth it the cost. GO!!!!!

And their portion sizes are pretty decent too. I was able to try their lunch menu this last Wednesday and I was genuinely in awe of how delicious the whole menu was. The kaosoi soup was out of this world. It was so rich in flavor and the spice was perfect, really coconutty and a beautiful curry base. I had so much that I was able to eat it again for dinner. I ordered a cup of rice to dip into the soup. The Thai fried rice was also delicious. It has a seafood base which tasted amazing with all of the citrus and to finish off our meal we had hot ginseng tea, which I'm surprised I haven't tried sooner because I love herbal teas.
