I've sent men, women and nonbinary friends to them because I trust their work and they're respectful and attentive to customer requests on fit and drape, even if non-traditional. Most recently, I needed a linen suit tailored for an event. They know exactly what they're doing and how to do it. I was pinned with precision and they genuinely listen to about my desired silhouette. They're honest with you about what is and isn't possible, so you don't end up looking insane. If it's your first time getting anything tailored, I can give perspective that prices are definitely reasonable for the work, and hand work isn't (and shouldn't be!) cheap. It seems their service may be tailored towards males so therefore not sufficient for bridesmaids dress alterations etc. The guy who greeted me first asked what needed to be done then accused me of not trying the dress on prior which of course was not the case. After patiently waiting for "the lady" to finish her lunch break so she could see it on, she let me know that the bridesmaids dress the bride had chosen would simply not work for my bust because there was no support. I nicely told her multiple times that I agreed the dress may not look "good" on me, but reminded her that it is the bride's choice rather than mine so I have to wear it. I offered to try it on with 2 different bras I had brought which she would not allow, denying either would work at a glance. After she wasted time trying to convince me there was nothing that could be done with the dress, despite not even looking at the hem etc. I went to "Needle & Stitch" 5 mins away where they immediately suggested adding boning to CREATE bust support! While not every seamstress is skilled at this, I do think the lady at Lords of Tailoring could have allowed me to try even just 1 of the bras I'd brought, suggested where I could get the speciality bras she kept talking about from her imagination, or at the very least just not wasted more of my time after I had already waited for her trash-talking the dress my friend's wedding planning. Rather than offer her effort, my $400 went to someone else in the neighborhood (...that wasn't from the neighborhood if you catch my drift). I hope her lunch was worth it! read more

They accommodated my request and had the dress ready to pick up when I needed it. They were also understanding when I had to pay by card instead of cash because I was having debit card/ATM issues. I've been in the neighborhood for about 5 years and Ron is absolutely the best you can get for alterations. This isn't a dry cleaner hemming your slacks, it's an honest to god tailor shop and I think it's important to patronize this kind of quality local business, especially when their prices are so reasonable. I had a suit that needed the trousers let out and a botched sleeve hem remedied. Ron did my fitting quickly and courteously, and had the suit turned around about a week later for $65. Really unhappy with the work they did here. I took in a pair of jeans and 2 tops, all to be shortened. The jeans were not hemmed short enough, and when I asked to have both pant legs pinned because one of my legs is slightly longer, the man was confused by this. And then is wife (who is beyond rude) came in and started yelling at him that he was pinning both legs. Additionally the hem itself looks so cheap, these jeans look like they have been hemmed. I've had tailors sew on the original hem so they don't look altered. The hem of one of the tops is also not straight. I've never seen such low quality work in my life. And not worth the price. I had a great experience here! I took a risk by purchasing a vintage dress online for a friend's wedding, and when it arrived I realized it was way too tight. I took the dress to Lords Of Tailoring, and while they were a bit concerned at first (the dress has very intricate stitching) they said they could take out the zipper and replace it to give me a little more breathing room. Not only did they do a great job replacing the zipper - they chose one that matched the colors of the dress perfectly. I can breathe now! And I don't think I have an item of clothing that fits me better. It was a risky alteration due to the delicate fabric, and I am so happy with how they handled it. I came here to get a pair of jeans taken out (wanted them 1 inch bigger at the waist). The guy looked them for a second and said it was impossible/would never look good. I said I didn't mind if they had to add fabric or even if it didn't look great, I just wanted the jeans to be more comfortable. Still he refused. I walked two blocks to Dulce Cleaners--they said they can do it in one day, no problem. I respect that Lords of Tailoring didn't want to do a job that they thought would look bad, but clearly it was not impossible and I found the experience very frustrating. read more

I needed to get a wedding dress altered and cleaned in a short turn around due to a COVID "plan B" wedding (rescheduled date from 2020.) The seamstress was very hands on and honest about what she could do with the material in that time. I dropped it off 5/11/21 with an expected pick up date 6/5/21 and it was done by today, 6/3/21. The shop owners let me try on the dress again before I paid and left, which was great because I'd brought along my shoes and veil to see the whole effect for the first time. PRO: Prices are good, and my clothes have never been damaged. CON: I've been here three times now and not once have my clothes been ready to pick up on the day they tell me they'll be ready. I've always had to come back the next day. This is after quoting a 72-hour turnaround time to begin with. Also, they now require a 50% deposit when you drop the clothes off, which I've never seen before from a cleaner and feels sketchy. If you don't need clothes back by the next day or relatively soon at all, this place will do, but I'm looking for better alternatives. read more
