I'm so disappointed. I had a consultation a few months ago and it went very smoothly I really liked my artist. The day of the tattoo came and all seemed fine I was super excited made one small change and then got to tattooing. I have many tattoos along my arms but I have never felt like I was being carved for 3 hours. I'm not sure if they artist was having a bad day or maybe they are just extremely heavy handed but I'm a few days post tattoo with chunks of indents in my skin along with it being super swollen and sensitive to the touch to the point washing it/putting ointment on it is painful. read more

loving my experience with Nick! Henhas amazing skills, patient & I'm just blown away by my customer work. I'm only on phase 1 (outline) currently healing & it's honestly the quickest healing tattoo I've ever had. looking forward to moving toward the color in a few more weeks. the entire process from intake to implementation has been stellar read more

I contacted the people at Loose Screw Tattoo when I decided I finally wanted to finish my leg. I had a pin up style tattoo on my leg but I wanted to add a colorful flight line to it incorporating a couple of specific aircraft. The b25, f4u corsair, and mv22 osprey. They set me up with Autumn. She showed me her vision of what I had requested and knocked it out of the park. I waited until everything was healed to make this review. I still can't believe how great everything looks. read more

I got my fourth tattoo here recently, and am very satisfied with the results. Really the entire appointment was lovely. My artist (Ash) had her own room with a really nice vibe, she was super helpful with making sure the tattoo was in the right placement on my arm, there was music, general conversation was great. And then my tattoo? It is absolutely beautiful!! The design process was great, she made the concept so amazing, and I'll likely come back for more :) read more

I've worked with Anna Wolff twice, for both a predrawn and a custom piece. I love her vision and she's super easy to work. As for her artistry, it speaks for itself. Her talent is unmatched. The shop itself is as professional as it gets, making their policies and procedures clear. They handle appointments, payments, etc. efficiently and easily. read more

Back at it again with Anna! This was one of her pre draw pieces,Sour grapes. Of course tattoos are uncomfortable, but she talked to me and asked questions to keep my mind off it. Not heavy handed, asked how I was doing. If you like her style and are a fan of black and gray art definitely check her out! read more

An overdue review from October 2024, Anna Wolff at Loose Screw crafted & tattooed a spectacular large upper arm Buddah for me. Anna came recommended by two others. From start to finish, the process was seamless, scheduling my initial consult to working me in during Richmond Tattoo Convention. I initially had a different idea of what I wanted my Buddah to look like yet after my consult with Anna, she gracefully explained why what I wanted wouldn't necessarily look as good as it could then talked me through & showed me the changes, modifications, and adjustments she'd recommend with her experience. I won't lie, I was hesitant but fully trusted her as an artist. As for the tattooing at the convention, I sat in the booth with Anna where she talked to me the entire time, all nine & a half hours - asking questions to drive conservation which was refreshing. Throughout the convention, I was instantly validated in trusting Anna with the decision to make the Buddah a large upper arm piece as she received compliments constantly from other artists and random strangers. While it was exhausting for both of us, at the end of the day, the Buddah looked absolutely breathtaking. Fast forward about two or so months later & I've lost count of the number of compliments I've received on the tattoo Anna did. Seriously, thoroughly impressed with Anna's work & will be reaching out for her to keep tattooing me. Would recommend her & Loose Screw Tattoo to anyone looking for a fantastic tattoo in the Richmond area. read more

I emailed a few months ago about getting a tattoo after getting a gift card. I was told that Nick wanted to do my design so I set up a consultation appointment. He was able to make sense of my jumbled idea and was even excited to do it. He had some cancellations so I was able to get in 2 weeks after the initial appointment. The reminder emails have any details you need to know in regards to having to reschedule, preparing for your appointment, etc. when checking in for my appointment yesterday, they gave me an iPad to fill out their forms. There were terms and conditions to agree to that covered every basis with thattoos and healing. It was easy to read and understand so as long as you read it, you shouldn't have any questions/concerns about how everything works or imperfections with the tattoo. The shop is very clean and covered in really cool artwork, as well as merch from the artists. There's a little area in the lobby with free snacks and coffee, which my artist had me go get for myself. My artist's room was upstairs and it was pretty spacious. He explained every step of the process so I knew what to expect. He showed me the design on his iPad so I could comment on any changes I wanted before printing the stencil. It was so perfect right off the bat and a lot bigger/detailed than I expected. I didn't expect him to finish in one session but he did and it was a good bit quicker than I expected. The end result is so amazing!!! I love it so much. I already had a second appointment scheduled in February so we just changed that to a touch up appointment that he said will probably be needed for the lighter areas. It cost less than quoted and is definitely my most expensive tattoo but it is so so worth it!!! Loose screw has so many talented artists, but it was such a joy working with Nick. Be she to check out his work. read more

Great experience! The shop is PRISTINE!!! From the moment you walk in the door, you know this place takes tattooing seriously. Everything is tidy - which is fantastic considering the age of the building in which they are housed. My tattoo appointment was at 10 in the morning, and I did not have to wait. I walked in, filled out the paperwork (on an iPad - straightforward!), and Anna was ready to go. I wanted a piece from her flash, and she made sure I chose a couple of others to fill the whole hour since I was paying for the time regardless. Anna was fabulous! She was straightforward and upfront about any issues I might have (she did a piece on each of my hands, which are notoriously iffy). I appreciated her communicating all the possible problems before starting the work. We had a great conversation the whole time, and she wanted to get to know the person she was working with - something not all artists care about. So, thank you to Anna for making the experience WONDERFUL!!! read more

I've been working with Jen on my latest sleeve and she's such a professional, kind and down-to-earth person that it makes me coming into the shop that much easier. The staff at the front desk is patient and send you helpful reminders for your next appointment through texts. I will continue to tattoo myself here thanks to the great work these artists put into their work. There's no ego driven jerk artists who look down on your ideas or feedback. I'm glad to see this place succeed. read more

I had a large forearm piece done by Anna Wolff In January and am still completely in love with it. After realizing my idea for a pet memorial wouldn't translate well, we brainstormed and she listened to every detail that was important to me. When I showed up for my tattoo, I was absolutely blown away by what she had designed. She was so easy to talk to that if felt like my appointment flew by. Their shop is extremely clean and everyone is so welcoming there. Highly recommend Anna at Loose Screw! read more

Although I still give the artist Anna zero stars due to my flubbed tattoo and subsequent handling of the issue, I am giving the shop, Alyssa, Fernando, and especially Jesse 100 stars for doing everything in their power to make this right. They were professional, caring, and mostly wanted me to leave their shop with a piece of work that truly reflected their standards. Now I have something that I can look at and show off proudly instead of an embarrassment. Thank you again to those involved in making this right and upholding the integrity of their tattoo shop. read more
