I was searching for a decent tattoo place for awhile. I came across True Tattoo and decided to give it a try. I called to see if they took walk-ins and they said to come on by. So glad I do!!! AJ did an incredible job on my tattoo. He was so good about me squirming a little (colar bone area is apparently tender). I showed AJ what I wanted and he did an AMAZING job!! My tattoo is in memory of my best friend of 47yrs. He passed away two years ago. I know he is smiling down on AJ's work. Everyone there at the shop was very nice. Scott is the best. My standards in artist have been raised. Not just from putting needle to skin but being personable. Got the back of my neck done and he asked if I was doing alright. I said other than the buzzing its fine. A woman came in asking about a cover up piece for her lewd lower back ink she had gotten when she was younger and was no longer relevant to her lifestyle. He was honest in giving her his thoughts as to her options as it was a large piece. I went in with a design and he changed it a little bit to incorporate an artistic D for my first name. I absolutely love it. It has been hard to find an artist quite like Scott since moving back to California. read more

This is the place to go for bomb ass tattoo's and a great atmosphere. Everyone was super nice and I felt very welcomed in the shop. One of the artists was getting starbucks for the shop and got me something too which was very thoughtful. Their apprentice Sydney did my tattoo and she did amazing. Their customer service was bad. I walked in to inquire about a tattoo and he was just shooting prices at me. So I asked if I can speak with the artist, he then proceeded to say the gentleman was not in today. So I asked about appointments. All of the answers I received seemed rushed as if they were trying to scare me away with high prices or unavailability. Although the artist I was looking to book with was an amazing artist, the vibes in this place were enough to turn me away and definitely not recommend them to anyone. The rudeness and lack of good customer service spoke volumes to me and I decided not to get any artwork done at this establishment. read more

Not only on our first attempt to have work done here but at the second, THIRD and FOURTH attempt. His attitude was terrible! So I've been debating over a tattoo (more like getting up the courage) for a long time. After consulting Yelp (See Thinking About Ink in Talk) and talking with some friends, I finally decided "woman up" and get my ink. A recommendation from a friend sent me to True Tattoo. The thought of going into a really big shop kind of intimidated me, and I actually loved the interaction of True Tattoo and their "fans" on their facebook page which is part of what drew me in. And I'm very glad it did. I called and asked what I needed to do as this was my first tattoo. They recommended coming in to review the portfolios and pick an artist based on that, I could set up an appointment with them and discuss what I was looking for. I headed over and was greeted promptly. I showed them what I was looking for and they felt confident that any of the artist could handle it (as did I!). Scott had luckily just finished up early with another customer and was able to quickly draw up EXACTLY what I was looking for and took the time to discuss the size and placement with me (I was still teetering on where and how big). Because he had the time, he offered to take care of it right then. I was nervous and anticipated it hurting, but it wasn't as bad as I thought -- not a single tear! -- and Scott gave me a heads up right before we started which I appreciated. He worked fast and efficiently and chatted with my husband and I which probably helped me not concentrate on what was going on. It wasn't until the end that we realized he was the shop owner which made me even happier with how things worked out. I LOVE my tattoo! There's a saying. Good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good. Matt quoted me a price. For the work he did, I would've paid twice that. Add in the AMAZING conversations and jokes that happened while I was there, and I definitely found the place where I'm getting inked for life. This is coming from a guy who solely went to Psycho in Atlanta. So, if you're headed there, make sure to bring a squeaky toy for Anna. Bonus points if it's a penguin. Extra super-duper bonus points if it's furry. Loved the experience and look forward to going back. read more

I just had a new tattoo done at True Tattoo this past week and I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience. The shop was great! Really open and bright and each tattooist has there own little "cubicle"-like station which was kinda neat. I was tattooed by Ross Trimmer (http://getrawesome.com). I had emailed him the idea I had for my tattoo the week before and when I showed up he had drawn up the most perfect tattoo for me. And the finished product looks great!
