7/30/2026. Got here for Wing Night- $1.25 for whole & .75 for split and they were delicious.... Crispy on the outside, MOIST & tender on the inside. We also added a basket of fries, I think they were like $2.95. This place has daily specials and we've never been disappointed. read more

The Loose Moose Saloon is locally-owned restaurant and bar in the Baldwin/Whitehall area. The atmosphere, value, and variety of specials always have me coming back time and time again. The Loose Moose is located on Brownsville Road, right over the boarder into Whitehall from Pleasant Hills. There is plenty of signage identifying the building from the road. Additionally, there is a large private parking lot that surrounds the establishment. This visit to the Moose was on a Monday evening in July. Mondays are one of their Wing Nights, where whole wings are $1.25 each. We primarily came for this special, but also ordered some other items to enjoy with the wings. The restaurant was not too crowded at the time we arrived, which was right before 8 PM. As stated, this is a restaurant and bar. So, when you walk in, the bar is straight ahead and the restaurant part is to the right. There are several booths and tables in the restaurant part. Tables can be pushed together to allow for a larger group to dine. Most of the booths seat 4 to 6 people. It is open seating, meaning you can choose your table. The atmosphere here is very much a hometown bar vibe. There are TVs, pool tables, dart boards, and lots of life coming from the patrons and regulars. There are a few bubble gum/candy machines in the lobby. In the breezeway, there is even a cigarette vending machine. After choosing our booth, we placed our order. Being that we come here rather frequently, we ordered some favorites at this visit. To start, we chose a Combo Platter for an appetizer. This is a platter with 4 different appetizers from a specific list. We got the Zucchini, Pickles, Onion Rings, and Hot Cheese Balls. The Zucchini here is thicker, and all of the fried items have a thicker batter/breading. We liked all the items, and thought the size of the platter was very good for the price! It was enough to share with a few people. In addition to my wings, I also ordered a salad. I had the plan of eating some, and then taking the rest home for a lunch the next day. The salads here are a hidden gem, in my opinion. My personal favorite is the Chef Salad, which is what I ordered this night. It is piled HIGH with turkey, ham, pepperoni, and cheese, along with lettuce and other veggies of course. It is delicious and very satisfying since there is so much meat and protein! I would highly recommend this item for anyone coming here. Our wings came out last, about 35 minutes after we sat down. They fry all of the wings to order, so they will take longer than one might expect. However, because of this they always come to the table hot and fresh. There are several different sauce options to choose from. On this trip, I got the Loose Moose Sweet, which is similar to a Sweet Thai Chili-type sauce. My fiancé ordered Garlic Parmesan with Mild Sauce on the side. I am never disappointed with the wings, and this day was no exception. The value at The Loose Moose is hard to beat. Along with the daily specials, their regular menu is very reasonably priced. Especially considering how much food is served for the prices. The salad I always order is less than $7, and is enough to split into two meals for me. All of the appetizers are under $8, with most being under $6. It is nice to be able to visit somewhere without spending a fortune for a good meal. Plus, there are Happy Hour drink specials during those times. Service here is friendly and good. The waitresses and staff are always kind, and do get to know their customers that frequent the place. My only complaint is more-so about the management regarding this. On busy nights, such as Wing Night, the place will be packed and there will be 2 servers for the entire dining room. You can go 15+ minutes without speaking to your server. This can get frustrating. However, the actual servers themselves are not the issue there. This would definitely be an area for improvement. We enjoy coming to The Loose Moose. My parents come here weekly, and I have been many times since they first introduced me. The specials and prices are hard to beat. It is close to me, and food is good, and the people and staff are friendly. It gives hometown bar vibes, which can be comforting and enjoyable for a lot of people. I would recommend giving this place a try, but be patient if you come during a busy time! read more

My pap used to love this place so it does get points for nostalgia. I'm not saying this place is necessarily clean, but the food is better than what you pay for. The fried zucchini is perfect and you get large portions for a bargain. The food came hot and the service was great. Head to the loooose moooose! read more

Good food, good prices and good specials. Service has always been quick and waitresses are very polite. It's not a fancy restaurant, but it's clean. Love their wings and Reuben sandwiches. All sandwiches on Friday are only $5. A pizza deals on Wednesday. Wing specials on Monday and Thursday . read more

The deals are great! And the food is fresh & plentiful. Tuesdays are $1.50 burgers & they are always fresh & huge! Fridays & Sundays are great for any sandwich & fries for $5.99. I would classify this place as a " GREAT DIVE BAR THAT SHOULD NOT BE MISSED!" read more

Well we keep going back. LOVE the zucchini planks and onion rings....Satutday $5 pizza is great. Always a remarkable deal of a meal! read more

Terrible waitresses and management. Not real clean. Food is OK, nothing great. Will not be going back!

Service was not efficient and wasn't worth the stop it's a local dive bar and if you're not a regular creep at the bar you don't get good service wouldn't recommend to anyone read more

The service is phenomenal. The food is great especially their Gyros. The wings and wraps are also good as well. Please stop in and enjoy the calm atmosphere and have a drink and some food. I definitely recommend!!! read more

Great wings. Great drinks. Little loud but oh well Bartenders were great. Definitely will be back read more

Love the daily specials!! Happy hour prices are awesome also!! Parking lot has plenty of room. They also have 3 pool tables.

Just so so. Keep your expectations low. I had the pizza slice special. Very ordinary. Very cheap.

Great wings. No batter coating, fried to crispy and juicy inside with a good variety of sauces and dusts available. Fried mushrooms, and loaded fries are also wonderful. They often have sandwich specials but the sandwiches themselves aren't that special. Good selection of bottled and canned beer but no keg drafts. I got there just as the shift was changing and the bar was a mess, sticky, crumbs, etc., but the incoming bartender thankfully cleaned it up immediately. It's a dive bar, certainly not a place to take a date, but it's low key, inexpensive, big screen TV, and mostly friendly locals early in the evening. I wouldn't know about later in the evening though I hear it gets rowdy, we older folk like to be home by 8. read more

Great food and cheap! Everyone was nice n'at. I'd definitely be back. Fantastic buffalo chicken sandwich and fries.

This bar is the worst kept, terrible food and drinks, not to mention multiple health code violations, and seems like a fight breaks every single time you are there between the bartenders. What customer service is to them is not what we all think it is. Isn't there a bartender that is actively stealing money from customers and is still working there? Absolutely disgusted, super pathetic, and I would never recommend this bar by any means. read more

I called there to order wings and on the first phone call they hung up on me, I called back and said we must've got disconnected the woman said to me, we don't serve food and hung up. I called a third time thinking someone was pranking me and a different person answered the phone and angrily took my order. It was 6:50 pm and I don't think that was a bad time to put an order in but they were very upset for my huge order of 2 dozen wings. I received over cooked wings with very little sauce. I guess they taught me a lesson for ordering food from a place that sells food. I won't order from there again nor would I recommend them to anyone. I never ever want to have any problem with someone that cooks my food and till this day I have no idea why they were so mad and when they started treating customers this way. Leave your attitude at home especially when you're in the customer service industry. I have never been anything but nice to them, matter of fact until this day I absolutely loved this place. I hope this helps people and I wouldn't have even said anything if my expensive wings weren't overcooked and under sauced because they were mad about something that obviously had nothing to do with me. I don't know anyone that works there, all I used to do is order food and eat at home. I have never had any problem with anyone there or with any food from there ever until this day. No idea but I was treated like crap for no reason and handed terrible food. read more

I and my mother along with my uncle and his girlfriend came here to get a bite to eat before a concert show at CraftHouse Stage and Grill. We walked in and sat ourselves down because no one was in sight to greet us. When we sat down we were able to get our drinks and that was that. We ordered our food and waited a whole hour and a little extra before walking out. They didn't even bother to ask us why we were leaving no one batted an eye. I don't recommended this place at all absolutely bullshit service read more

Worst service ever. This is the second time in a row that we were ignored. The wait staff looked directly at us and never came over. To bad a place that has decent food has awful service read more

Con: I'm usually the only black person in there and everyone kinda just stares. But no one has been rude to me so I guess that's fine. Pros: The wait staff is friendly and prompt. I always get take out, so I not usually waiting long and they don't ignore me and only serve the people they know ( I've had this happen ) The FOOD is GREAT ! And you can't bet the prices. read more

This was my first time here. I saw that they had a wing special & thought I would stop in for lunch. The bar was pretty mellow with a local bar vibe. Nikki (sp) was the bartender. She was very sweet & attentive. Excellent customer service. The wing special is $0.25 half wings or $0.50 whole wings. There are about 6 or 7 different flavors offered. There are no limitations as to how many wings you can order with a flavor. I decided to go with the Honey BBQ & the San Antonio Hot. The Honey BBQ had great tangy flavor. I have an above average threshold for spicy foods. The San Antonio were pretty hot. I needed blue cheese to help get them down. Their blue cheese is nice too. It's smooth & not moldy tasting like roquefort. The wings were cooked to perfection. Nice & crispy. What an amazing deal. I only have 1 complaint. For a non-smoker I wasn't digging that they let you smoke at the bar. Other than that, I had great service from Nikki & a tip of the hat to the cook. I'll definitely be coming back again. read more

Updating my review quickly because I recently discovered that this place has the BEST Italian hoagie around. I kid you not. It's AMAZING. The portion of meat you receive is huge, the Italian oil is delicious, the bread always tastes fresh and it's cheap. What is better than that? Also- to those complaining about the out of state IDs.. this is due to the fact that nowadays you can buy out of state IDs online. They are identical to the real ones and it's very hard for bars to tell if they are fake/real. To save themselves a lawsuit, they simply don't accept out of state IDs. You can't really blame the bar for that. Anyway.. now I'm thinking about the Italian hoagie and drooling. Get here now to try it. read more

Stopped into the Loose Moose on my way home from visiting my folks after noticing the "1/2 pound burger for a buck" specail on the sign out front. The first obvious question I had was, "what kind of burger can they serve for $1.00?" I had to stop and find out. The next obvious question was, "What exactly makes this moose loose anyway?" Is it a free roaming moose? A yoga moose? A financially irresponsible moose? A moose of questionable morals? I needed to know. So I asked. After a rolling of the eyes, the bartender took my burger order and got me a Fat Heads IPA. The burger came out in about five minutes and it was just as I ordered it: cheese, onion, tomato, pickle and brown mustard. It wasn't the best burger I ever had but it most certainly was the best $1.00 burger I've ever had. Looking around there's pool tables, a number of big screen TV's, a jukebox playing, a good crowd and a friendly staff with fast service. It's clean, they've got a decent selection of craft beers and a full bar. The Moose, how ever loose it is, is a winner of a neighborhood bar. read more

So here's the deal... this place is probably one of our favorite places; however, the cooks rotate between here and The Theme Bar. When certain cooks and certain bartenders are working, the food and service is amazing. When other cooks and bartenders are working- it's okay. Can't beat the specials. read more

I'm glad one of my favorite local wing joints is still able to run takeout. One of the best places around if you are looking for more bang for your buck. We ordered two dozen wings (with my favorite being the San Antonio hot) along with two chicken tender meals and their amazing hot pepper cheese balls. The cheese balls are a must have as they are melt in your mouth good. The wings were cooked crispy and had great flavor. They weren't over/under seasoned like a lot of places have been. Will always come here for the wings. read more

I had some good times here when I was younger. Having said that I think this place is gross inside and I try avoiding it at all costs. If you do not mind smoky bars that have a grungy look, maybe you will enjoy this place. They do have very good food and drinks specials, but that is about the only positives in my book. read more

The bar is a cool place to have a few drinks and shoot some pool. Came in for wing night it was freezing inside. The server was very attentive and nice. I ordered wings and asked if I could have mostly flats if possible. When I get the wings they are jumbo size kind that freak me out because they are loaded with hormones, which is why I don't like the drums because it's creepy in the first place. When I look down at my dozen wings only 3 out of the 12 were flats. I knew I wouldn't eat them so I asked kindly if she could send them back and she had no problem doing so. I will still come back again just not ordering wings. read more

Life is too short to miss out on places like this. My only regret is that NOBODY told me about it sooner, so I'll be the guy to continue to spread the good word on awesome places. I'm like MUNCH, but without a bag on my head and proud to say when places suck or when they are totally awesome, like The Loose Moose! A few months ago I won some gift certificates to The Moose at a bash. Since nobody ever told me about this place, I kinda just put it off till whenever. Yesterday the cat got out the bag and I'm glad it did cause this pussy was sweet! When you first pull up to this place it is so low key and APPEARS small but then you go inside and it's like you've been transported to dive bar heaven (remember when the kids went into Charlie's chocolate factory and the inside was huge, kinda like that) . When you first walk in it's like a choose your path game. Go to the right and seat yourself in a huge closed off eating area with a giant TV and booths and tables and Windows. Go straight ahead and hang out in the cozy bar area with another giant TV and a beer selection that would please any UNTAPPED app user OR, go to the back where they have 3 large pool tables with someone always looking to give you a challenge. Choose wisely or choose all three! Hell, I recommend choosing all 3! You might wanna drink, you might wanna play pool but we ALL wanna eat and I must say, this place puts places to shame in both quality, service and price anywhere I've been. They have specials all day every day of the week. Monday's ( a day I went) they have either 50 cent whole wings or 25 cent split wings cooked-to-purr-FECTION(get it)! Seriously whoever is in the kitchen is either excited to cook, paid good to cook or both and if they aren't paid good, they need a raise. The wings weren't all weird (you know what I mean) they were crispy and juicy and the sauce, OMG, from the Loose Moose Sauce to the Mild and Arizona Ranch, all the flavors taste awesome and aren't greasy at-all!! Now if you follow my Yelp you know I like Reubens and this place has an awesome melt in your mouth Reuben. We also that night got the fried sampler platter with Zucchini, fried mushrooms(yum), cheese sticks and Onion Rings. I just want to note about the sampler platter, the onion rings actually let you eat them in bites, not the whole onion coming out when you bite it, that's a huge plus to me. Everything else in the platter was phenom too! Do you feel my excitement yet? And ya know what? I'm not even done praising this place yet cause god damnit people need to know about this place sooner unlike me! It was so good, we decided that Tuesday was $1 burgers, let's go again! Dear lord baby Jesus. If you follow my Yelp you'll know I just had an awful Burgatory experience. The $1 Burger at the loose moose made my $13 Burgatory burger look like a week old trashy slider. This Moose burger was HUGE! And it was only $1!! They don't charge for extra toppings either (eat your heart out Bar Louie). We got 4 burgers, a dozen wings and 2 beers and our total, TOTAL was 18 freakin dollars!!!! Wednesday's they have 50 cent tacos and pizza slices, Thursday Free baskets of wings with drink orders and Friday, well you're just gonna have to go find out for yourself. I want to note, the service. This place is PACKED. You can tell this is a regulars spot for a lot of people for dinner and I don't blame them. The girls who work the dining room and even bar really make an effort to keep you satisfied and run around like crazy! Our waitress Allison worked there for 11 years, so that alone must say something about whoever owns this place. Allison was working hard and I really appreciated her effort and dedication. NOTE : and every restaurant take note, I did NOT HAVE TO ASK FOR NAPKINS NOT ONCE!!!!! Either day I was there! Look, I could write a book about this place so before I need to create a whole new app just to review The Loose Moose, get your ass there for awesome food, fantastic specials, a hard working staff and all the beer flavors you could ever need. This is HITT and I fully co-sign The Loose Moose and everything about it. read more

Decided to check this place out for wing night after hearing about the specials. This place seemed like it was kinda in a hidden spot not to far off the busy road with good bits of parking. On entering this is a smoking spot so be prepared if you don't smoke cause you can smell the cigarettes and smoke. We weren't greeted but already had a friend waiting for us at a table so seating was fast. I like to keep things simple when trying new wings and I'm a sucker for actual whole size wings so I got the housemade seasoning dry rub with a side of ranch. The service was terrible being it seemed to be two girls running back and forth serving food and working the bar. It was slow and she was cranky but I can't blame them because I would be to if I had that much work to do back and forth. I'm not sure if it was a short staff issue or it's always like that but just wanna make that a point. The wings came out in about 20 minuets and I was stoked they where real jumbo wings. Mine where delicious and super juicy not over cooked and the seasoning smacked it was delicious. My buddy got a order of mushroom poppers and cheese fries and they where good to! On the other hand my friend got Arizona ranch and it honestly looked like it was just flavored grease. I'm not sure what happened but they where terrible. My other friend got a hot sauce one and they looked great as well he liked them. Now for a unbeatable deal on wings and a hit or miss on the sauce I'll say it was pretty good. As for the service I'll have to return for a wing night and see how things go. I'll definitely be returning here and hope to make it a regular spot for me. On a side note I don't smoke and the cigarette issue was bad and very smelly but it's bearable and the wings where good. 3 stars for the fact of service. read more

This was my favorite bar in the BURG. Go down to Baldwin Township to have a good time any Friday or Saturday night. The only place in Allegheny County to hear David Alan Coe and drink moonshine. This place has amazing food specials. Their prices are so cheap and the portions and taste are legit. Drinks are cheap as well. They are your typical bar drinks not the fancy pants drinks. But, it's a dive bar so that's to be expected. The entire place allows smoking whether you're at the bar or eating areas so it is pretty heavy on the smoky smell which I could see bothering those who are not smokers. They do not allow children or any under the age of 18 to enter. The service is so so and sometimes the wait times are a bit long. But, for the price I'm paying that doesn't really bother me all that much. read more

This place is so small. It's cozy, a foodie place because they make everything authentic. You will wait for your food to arrive because they make everything fresh. Most of the food is fried and they have all the liquor you want! They have special days like Monday $1 burgers, Thursday $2 food and drinks. (Not everything but for the most part) I don't like that you can smoke inside, and service took forever to get their attention. The Loose Moose is exactly what you'd expect on the inside from what you see on the outside. We went late at night and got cheap beers, $2 Miller deals and cheap craft bottles. Extra props for free pool while we were there, so we played a handful of games. It loses points for the smoking, which I must admit doesn't smell nearly as bad as most smokey city bars, and for the bartender not knowing what kind of liquors were behind the bar when we tried to order some shots. We ended up sticking with beers. read more

awful awful service. Was there tonight for their $.50 wing special. Been there many times before, service always slow on week night but tonight was over the top. Ordered ten whole wings and loaded fries. Waited 20 minutes for a drink, after 1 1/2 hours and still waiting for food we questioned the waitress what the holdup was . She said whole wings take longer but she'd check how much longer. She came back and told us 2 minutes. After waiting 10 more minutes we left, never to return again.
