To be fair we have only tried the beer so far but the interior and the staff where so nice we can't wait to try the food. The menu looked good and the food we saw being served looked very good as well. I tried the Long Days wheat ale and really enjoyed it. They have a nice outside sitting area in the back. Went for lunch today . The atmosphere was so nice, I had the Freya spicy cider. It was different but really good not what I expected. My husband had the Mucklebone and really liked it. I've had the opportunity to dine at Longship Brewing Company 4 times already. Great ciders and special beer, delicious food, and attentive and knowledgeable service. Some ingredients like fresh berries are sourced from a few miles away. Our latest discovery is blueberry crumble dessert! Cubano sandwich is also delicious. Delicious burgers, bean burgers, and fries. Homemade soups are flavorful and served hot. I highly recommend for those with allergies or special dietary needs such as gluten-free, MSG-free, and vegetarian. Owner and chefs are eager to share ingredients and understand concerns. Worth the drive to Lawton, just a few miles off 94 near Kalamazoo. read more

Hmm, well they were out of one beer (with only 4 to choose from), the food was just ok. The grilled cheese was good but the size of a postage stamp and not worth the price. One in our group had a pretzel (the only thing ordered and it was like a rock! They made another but by this time the rest of us were done eating. They only offered to take half off. I just stopped into this new brewery last night and was blown away! It has a warm and inviting atmosphere, but the best part is the food and the incredible brews!! I wanted to try them all, so I got a flight to try everything and I was so impressed. The beers were so balanced--no harsh hoppy-ness. But my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE is the Freya cider!! I'm so in love with this totally unique and unexpected cider! Wow! I don't even know how to describe it, but Longship Brewery--well done!!! I don't live close by, so I'm even going to come back today because I called and it turns out that I can get a growler to take home I also tried one of their new focaccia pretzel--wow! Another total win. So soft, but a little crispy, and totally delish! I wasn't planning on having a whole meal, but the pretzel was so good that I decided to get the Reuben sandwich and fries and their Coca Cola cake--both awesome!! As a person living very close to Lawton, I have a deep desire for this place to succeed. They have done a nice job rehabilitating the façade of the building. It has made downtown look better. Longship has faced some challenges since opening, namely the closure of M-40 through downtown Lawton from April to October of 2024. I have recently eaten at this establishment over the past 4 weeks. My latest visit is the reason for this review. They had open mic night yesterday evening which was nice. It was mostly acoustic guitar solo acts. The food last night was as follows: I had the Old Soul which is pastrami and cheese on a kaiser roll with a side of au jus. The sandwich was good. The spicy fries were great, and I love that they offer Vernors. My kids had the gourmet grilled cheese. This typically is made with an sunflower seed bread. Unfortunately they were out of his bread and made the sandwich with rye bread. That was not a good combination. The rye bread flavor clashed with the gruyere cheese. If you don't have the ingredients to make the sandwich as advertised, I'd say it's best to 86 it from the menu vs. what was done last night. I've heard that they are often running out of ingredients and this is something they will need to work on. I wish they offered a good salad. I would also encourage them to come up with a good beer cheese that they can serve with their fries and soft pretzel. I have not had the opportunity to try any of their beer offerings. The wait staff feels somewhat inattentive. My son spilled some of is drink on the table and we asked for some napkins. I wish the waitress had taken the wet napkins away for us, rather than me having to walk to the bathroom to throw things away. Eating out now days with a family is expensive and these little details make the experience feel more valuable. It's these little details that matter. We will continue to visit occasionally to eat out and I encourage other to do the same. read more

My hubs and I stopped here Saturday nite at 9 after driving 600+ hours home from Gatlinburg. We live a mile away and hadn't tried it yet. So delighted that we did!! We were greeted immediately with a smile and we sat at the bar. We met Joe the owner and he explained and let us sample different beers and ciders..all delish and unique. He chatted with us for a while. Even though the kitchen had closed at 9, they whipped us up a foccacia pretzel that came with a mouthwatering dip and the Bruschetta toast app..also fresh and delish! The bartender Amanda was sweet and pleasant and we also got to chat with Pat, Joe's wife and co-owner. She was sweet and humble and they're both proud of this much needed, upscale bar/restaurant in Lawton. Its upscale modern, yet eclectic interior inside of a very old building is fresh and innovative! We immediately felt welcome and included. This is just what Lawton so badly needed! Fresh healthy food and well crafted ciders and beer! We will be regulars! First of all the ownership and people working there are friendly and social. The atmosphere in the bar is nice as well as clean. Great decore and showing off the brewery behind glass and all the wood everywhere. Usually the music in the background is Blues.., a great choice. Perfect for the ambiance of the bar and there is live music on nights announced on the board behind the bar. I do not drink but I do recommend the sanwiches. The Burgers are particulally good and the hand cut fries are a nice bonus. That all being said.... I know the place opened up right before the city closed up the town to do a complete reconstruction on the roads and sidewalks as well as all utilities under it so it was a rough summer. Trying to keep a place like that open under those conditions is hard for all the businesses concerned and there were some losses along the way. Here is my concern.... The last time I walked in it was 6pm on a Friday. The room was half full with people at the bar as well. My party and I waited 10 minutes to be seated. When we were finally seated by a very nice gentlemen, who seem to be the only one working on the floor, he put us at a table and said he would be right back to get our drink order. Another 10 minutes, went by as I watched him methodically go from table to table taken care of business. When he finally got back to my table, I told him I needed a couple of drinks and he said he would be right back. Another 10 minutes. I watched him doing things behind the bar again methodically going from table to table, taking care of customers. When he finally got back to my party with the drinks we gave him food orders and he said that they would be out directly. We waited 45 minutes to get our food. From the time we walked in till the time we got our food it was an hour and a half that had gone by. This is truly an unacceptable time frame for all this to happen with just a half full room. First off standing there for 10 minutes. Waiting to be seated is a no no. We almost left. If the floor staff is not available to check people at the door, the bar back or the bartender should be doing it, or when it's really busy, you should have a Matri'D. Second of all when you seat somebody you should immediately take their drink order when it's semi ( or really ) busy like that and bring them back as directly as possible so that they have something in front of them instead of sitting at the table with nothing if they have to wait. Again, I realize that business has suffered over the roads closing in town all summer, but now that the roads are open and business is flourishing you really should have more than one waiter/waitress staff on the floor. In that respect while I was watching the one gentleman on the floor doing his job as best he could I saw other employees that could've been on on the floor helping in the brewery area texting on their phones, people standing around talking, etc., etc. when the place is busy? No cell phones should be allowed in any of the weight staffs hands. It's too much of a distraction. As far as the length of time for the food? I don't know how big the grill is back there, but if it took 45 minutes to get our food so either the grill isn't big enough to accommodate a busy house or you need more people in the kitchen. In the past at one point, I had friends that got up and left after an hour of sitting at their table after their order had been taken, and then their food order had been forgotten and they got up and left because of that never to return again. You have a great business with great ambience and great food. You have a friendly staff and in speaking with the owner, he seems like a really nice guy. Kudos to the gentleman on the floor waiting tables. I almost felt bad for him being out there by himself, having to take care of all those people while others were doing nothing or not very much at all to help. Again, I realize you just went through a bad summer money was short hard to pay for enough employees to be in the place. But please you have a nice business there but if you're employees don't pick up the pace you're gonna lose business. That's the only thing that keeps you from getting five stars in my book. One and a half hours from entry to food is unacceptable especially in a place that small. And I like the place so I am in hopes that the lag is from the town being closed all summer. Absolutely a great time for a Saturday treat ! They had live entertainment for the evening, a highly skilled Celtic singer/guitarist. The service was on point, very attentive but not intrusive. The pretzel appetizer with creamy mustard dip was a pleasant departure from traditional. Went for comfort food, ordering tomato bisque soup and the gourmet grilled cheese. Longship is our favorite date night (or afternoon) locale. The service is always cheerful, the cider and beer are good, and the food is amazing! The bruschetta, cuban sandwich, fish tacos, and bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions are a few of our faves that keep us coming back. And the fries? Oh. My. Word. So delicious.
