Pharmacy associates are not helpful or knowledgeable about the process of filling prescriptions which I believe is the primary reason for going there in the first place. It just seems like no one really cares about their job. Here's why you should avoid this pharmacy at all costs... -Cannot refill an in-stock prescription during a shopping visit. Understandable if they're busy, but I was the only customer waiting for a refill and was told they would not be able to get 30 pills counted and put in a bottle within an hour...Wow! 3 of the other Safeway locations in the valley I've been to previously usually offer to do this within 15-20 minutes. I know this is a smaller Safeway compared to their other locations and the overall pace of things is a bit slower up here in Pollock Pines, but I don't think that means they cannot offer decent customer service. -I've called in to have specific prescriptions filled for my wife and they fill the wrong one or forget which one we've asked and provide a refill on the wrong medication. I catch this before paying for the items, but I always have to double check that what they provide me with is what I actually asked for. -Provided specific prescription information, including all physician info and was told by the pharmacy tech that they would contact the physician and I should hear back from the pharmacy within a couple of days. A week later I called in and was told by a different pharmacy tech that I was misinformed by the person I spoke with the prior week and that since it was a new prescription it was my responsibility to contact the physician and have the information sent over. I have no problem contacting the physician and asking them to send over the info, but since I was specifically told they would take care of this, I was a little disappointed that I had to wait a week to find out that nothing was done. I would hate to see what would happen if someone needed a life-saving medication...hope you have a few weeks to wait! At this point, we've given up on this pharmacy. We still love the grocery store, but avoid doing any prescriptions or asking for any sort of advice on any over-the-counter medications as they clearly don't want to be helpful. Great grocery store, horrible pharmacy!

After being told the rx was not filled and I have been out for 7 days and that they didn't get the request on their app, my confirmation shows it needed to get approval from the doctor. I am told I need to call my doctor to request refills. I have worked in pharmacies, the pharmacy calls, doctor offices tell you to refill via your pharmacy. Over it, have been without meds multiple times due to this.

Village Pharmacy is the opposite. They answered the phone promptly, processed me in-person quickly, answered my questions patiently, were friendly and knowledgeable. They accurately estimated the time to fill the scripts, and I got an automated text once the scripts were ready. They do compounding as well - they are a real pharmacy, not a chain of pill counters. I will definitely go here for all my prescriptions in Incline Village going forward.

Well It hasn't changed much. There is still a nice gift area. The atmosphere isn't the same but still a nice place to browse.

They will gift wrap your purchases if you ask and they do a nice job. They also sell some really yummy truffles at the front counter. Definitely a must while waiting for your prescription. The staff are generally friendly and the owners are the best (both are long-time locals). The store is clean and well-organized. It is one of the few remaining privately owned pharmacies in Calaveras County and is a longstanding institution.
