We would order here quite often. We always order the same things. last night my boyfriend ordered cavatelli with meatsauce and received cavatelli with a smashed meatball on top. I ordered Cajun chicken pasta that was supposed to be with linguine but came with cavatelli which I do not like. The time before this order my boyfriend cavatelli's were not cooked right and all stuck together. For the price, a salad should be included but they don't even give you bread. however, if you dine in you get bread. what a joke!! we are done with this place read more

Always looked forward to the fish fry. Grouper. That was last year. Just got the grouper and couldn't believe it Not much more than fish nuggets for $16 this year. I cannot stress just how exceptional the manager Nick, server Sandy, the cooks and entire staff at Longo's on Lakeshore Blvd are. my niece who lives in Atlanta is getting and wanted to have her bridal shower , here in her hometown. Not knowing if Longo's could could accommodate us, I thought I'd give them a call to find out about dates, times, cost, menu options, etc. I spoke to the manager Nick and he opened the restaurant 3 hours early so that we could host an afternoon event, created special menu items, and truly everything was perfect. It was okay, the food tasted good I got bang bang shrimp the shrimp could have been more fried but thats fine, but when we entered the restaurant there was at most 3 people seated and no wait and it took 8 minutes for us to get seated when the place was practically empty. Dined there for the first time last night with friends who eat there frequently. For starters, we sat in the back for 35 minutes before a waitress came to take our drink order. She immediately threw her co worker, the hostess, under the bus by saying the hostess didn't tell a waitress that we were here, that she's horrible and gets complaints all the time, and that she has no idea why the hostess is still employed here. It was kind of off putting. We waited another 10 or so minutes for waters and coffee to be brought to the table and roughly 30 more minutes for food to come out. We had to ask multiple people for napkins and silverware before we finally got some. The food was mediocre, but the cheesy bread was really good! Refills took awhile to come out, they lost the coffee pot for a bit so it took time to get a coffee refill. It was just a mess...It's doubtful we'd return read more

Used to enjoy the food here. Did a delivery order on Saturday. Ordered chicken florentine and potato skins. The chicken was dry and had a sawdust like consistency. There wasn't much of it either. Instead of the angel hair pasta in the description and specified where they give you a selection, they gave me linguini. Their chicken florentine used to be a wonderful breaded piece of chicken with marinara, etc. No marinara now. Ended up throwing away the chicken. Couldn't eat it. Very disappointed!!!! I've read some of the other reviews and not doubting them but being from out of state this place was suggested to me for a decent meal. NICOLE was our waitress. Absolutely wonderful employee with a pleasant smile that always makes a good meal eve better. First time visitor. Took a couple minutes to get seated and the place was almost empty. It was getting late. But once we got seated the drinks were there very quickly. Potato skins for an appetizer. They were good. (Could've used more bacon and scallions but was still good. I ordered the Big Italian Calzone. EXCELLENT! I've eaten these for years all over the country but this one was definitely at the top of the list if not number one. My companion had a house salad that she said was very good. Support this place. You will not be disappointed in my humble opinion. I left a good tip on the card but then after talking with Nicole I decided to leave a second tip in cash. Not only a very good waitress but it's refreshing to see a young woman doing some great things with her life unlike most of these young kids now days. Anyways, great food. Just had dinner here to celebrate a birthday and I experienced the worse service ever!The food had no taste! The wings did not have much sauce, the pasta noodles were soggy, and one of the pastas had hair in it. We addressed our issues with the manager, whose name is Nick. Nick was the rudest manager I ever met. He didn't care whatsoever. Instead of fixing the issues, he said, "if you don't like it, you can leave". The issues were fixable but Nick decided that it wasn't worth fixing. We asked for the general manager's contact info but he refused to give it to us. Nick was acting shady and we left the restaurant dissatisfied. If you're looking for a restaurant with good customer service and good food, don't go to this one. Don't waste your time and money. Whole family agreed and double checked it too. I checked the receipt, it was indeed a large. It tasted fine, nothing great, a suitable pizza. Same for the garlic knots. This is one of two Longo's locations in the Mentor area. We had a large group of 22 and they let us order from the menu. Most of the food appeared to be home made and portions were very generous. Nothing fancy here, just nice folks with decent Italian food. Garlic knots were offered pre-entree. The service here was by young folks who were very polite and anxious to please. Chicken parm with penne for me. Not the place for date night, but great for casual dinner. read more

Longo's is the bomb-diggety, the bee's knees, AND the cat's meow all in one. I've been a fan of theirs since I was kid and my folks would order from their (now closed) Painesville restaurant. They are my favorite pizza, hands down. They are better than any pizza I've had down in Little Italy. The handmade crust is perfect thickness, and is tender to the bite, not chewy like some places or cracker-like like you get from others. The sauce stands out as it is is a bit spicy as opposed to the sweet sauces all around the area. They use real chunks of sausage and meatballs on the pizza instead of the little rabbit-pellet sausages that the chains all seem to use. They have a lot of other good stuff on the menu as well. Their homemade soups are wonderful, especially the Italian wedding soup and the potato soup. Their chicken tenders and huge, hand-breaded masterpieces. And the chicken wings? Sweet sassy molasses! The wings are ginormous. I am not a believer in evolution, but the theory teaches that chickens are descendants of dinosaurs. Longo's wings seem to support that notion with these dinosaur sized wings. I like both the General Tso and BBQ flavors. Meatballs? Yeah, boy, Get you some. Super tender, super flavorful. We had a reservation for the party room for a bridal rehursal dinner at Longos on Lakeshore for this evening. When we arrived the manager nor the servers knew of this reservation and requested proof. We showed them the communication for the reservation and told us to head back to the party room. The girl who would have been our server, Paige, told our bride we could move the tables if needed. We began to arrange the tables to fit our group when she returned to say that they could not be arranged in that way. Unsure of why we were setting up the party room ourselves, our bride mentioned going to a different restaurant as we felt completely unwelcome. Paige immediately retorts with "thats fine im not dealing with this" and stormed out shaking her head. Paige clearly didn't feel like doing her job today or even just being kind. Our bride left sobbing. Thank you to Robbie the manager and the other workers who seemed willing to help. I have been in this industry for over a decade and this is a prime example of how NOT to treat a guest. At no point were we rude and we were completely understanding of the communication error but this attitude from Paige was completely unwarranted. read more

Tonight we ordered chicken wings (hot and mild) and a small pizza with two toppings. Delivery was prompt, and the food arrived hot. However the wing sauce was running out of the boxes because the foil was not fully lining the boxes! The wings were tough but the wing sauce tasty. The pizza was a real disappointment.
