It's been years since I've dined at LongHorn Steakhouse, and while visiting LaGrange, I noticed one nearby and decided to stop in for lunch. Upon arrival, things started a bit slow--I waited for a moment before realizing I needed to walk over to the takeout area to be seated. However, once my waiter greeted me, the experience quickly turned around with attentive and efficient service. The warm bread was just as I remembered--fresh, soft, and a comforting start to the meal. I ordered a cup of shrimp chowder, which was rich and flavorful. For my entrée, I went with a signature favorite: Parmesan crusted chicken, paired with mac and cheese and a salad. The portions were generous, and I definitely had enough to take home for later. This was my first time coming to this location and the service was terrible. I sat the bar and my whole visit I was treated as if I was invisible. My drink was not good. My salad was dry and I had to constantly raise my hand to be assisted. The bartender Paige made it a priority to give everyone at the bar amazing service but when it came to me she was very stand-off. At the end I placed 2 Togo orders and when she brought them out they were plates only and when I asked a bag she got an attitude. I was going to give 2 stars but thanks to Leslie, I decided to give it 5 stars. I ordered my food and as normal I waited. Didn't take too long but longer than it would at any other Longhorn location that I have been too. When I did receive my food my filet was undercooked and they forgot my lobster tail. My mashed potatoes were extremely cold. My waitress Leslie, gladly took my food back to be remade properly and it was 100 times better. She is what I call great customer service. She did not If I come back I hope she will be my server again. Kudos to her and she deserves a raise for taking care of customers. Service was great and everyone was very friendly. The food was as good if not better than any other longhorns. What stood out about this place was just how friendly the staff was, who ever is managing this location is doing a great job and definitely knows how to keep their staff happy. I ordered 2 Longhorn Porterhouse Steak with loaded Baked Potato 1 with a salad and 1 with broccoli. 1 order was exactly as ordered, medium with baked potato and salad. The other was supposed to be medium well with baked potato. The potato was rotten and cooked (whoever put this potato in the oven to bake needs a different position) Noone with pride in the job or the company should present such garbage to a paying customer for consumption. The steak was supposed to be medium well it was Rare. I called to let them know held for 8 min 32 seconds, was to be placed on hold, she disconnected me. I called back and was told the manager said I could come back and get another potato, at the time I hadn't even cut the steak. I told her I live 15 miles away and didn't want to return, she said hold on and I will get something to write with for your email to send a gift certificate. Sadly, I was disappointed with my visit here. It was my first time. As soon as we sat down our waitress asked if we wanted any appetizers. We had not had time to look at the menu and didn't even order our drinks. Once we ordered she brought us warm bread. The food come fairly quickly and was decent. The fries were good, the Mac and cheese was ok. They ran out of buns, so the burger was served on sourdough bread. We weren't even finished with our meal and she asked us if we wanted desert. But what isn't understandable is the FILTHY floor, the way the tables are PACKED together, the 15 minutes and pleading to the hostess to have our server greet us. I also don't understand why we waited 20 ADDITIONAL minutes for bread and our salads. I hope to leave by midnight. The service was so bad that I started to pick out other tables that were receiving bad service as well. We would make eye contact out of shared misery. Well at first glance of Course it's Longhorns .. it's always great.. But today no so much.. Now what I can say is that it's clean and the customer service is especially by Morgan the server A1. She's great and so sweet .. Me my sister and nephew came she was so kind and also took our orders correctly... When we got out food. I asked for a medium steak and got a rare steak ... I sent it back and then they gave me a twice cooked steak that was well done at that point and by this time I had finished my sides... Can we say DINNER RUINED... it's not the fact that Longhorns isn't good it's the audacity they sent that steak back to me well done. I will eat here again but I didn't enjoy my meal AT ALL. The manager, Gabe, ​knew of a situation where a table full of young people were loud, using profane language and disruptive to the point that food was thrown across their table, across the aisle and hitting my husband in the neck. I moved to Lagrange about two months ago. Limited restaurants of choice in Lagrange. Therefore, I have visited this location ten times are more, and each time my experience was great. I even got to know the bartenders/cooks as I only sit at the bar(Usually just me). However, this time was different. I needed a table- youngest brother(31) and nephew(23) visiting. My brother is visiting from California(Marine) and my nephew(oldest sister son) is visiting from Iowa. I have never experienced this type of racism. Here are the facts: My brother and I ordered a drink(No id was requested). but when my nephew order, The server Olivia apparently got spooked- as my nephew look well underage. This is not a problem asking for his ID, but now you are requesting ours. My brother shows his DL(Out of state DL), I decline my drink at this point(I didn't like how this was going), my nephew shows his ID(Out of state DL). The server then says, I will be right back. I need to verify this ID, because it's an out of state ID. Olivia(the server) took my nephew ID to the back and was gone for about 8min. Olivia returned and said ok, the manager verified it, let's complete the drink order. I asked Olivia to bring the manager to the table, this is very comfortable. Olivia asks what is? I explained to her, you took my nephew's ID out of his possession, and you are not law enforcement. The ID should always stay with the person, and if you need to verify, you bring the manager to the table to verify at hand in front of the customer. Olivia said this is our policy, out of state ID must be checked by the manager. I informed her, my brother has California ID, and you didn't do anything different with his ID. Olivia then admitted your nephew looked young, and to have and ID showing and age he doesn't look, I had to check it. I responded to her, in other words, you're saying his ID is possibly fake, base off your judgment, and you're not management, but just the server- you should never put yourself in that position. Please get the manger to the table. Olivia stepped away to get manager. The table to my left and nephew right. Three people, white male and female probably late 30's and younger male. Later, the younger male stated he was 22; overheard what was going on. This is relevant information- the 22 year of age was not asked to produce his ID(no one at their table was ID). I can't confirm what they shared was truth, but my current situation supports it. The manger(Courtney) and Olivia returns to table. Olivia has brief her of the situation, but not with all the facts. Courtney immediately stated, Olivia was following protocol and here is the book we use to verify out of state ID's. I verified it, it took longer, because I am not familiar with Iowa ID's. I explained to Courtney, I understand the process, but if that the process, this needs to be solid across the board(not pick and choose and in this situation, I feel that Color of Skin was pick). Courtney replied, the process is solid, and I promise you, we are not racist here. I said maybe not, but how does it appear?, Olivia stated "I have mixed babies, my man is black". I ignored that comment, just another thing that needs to be communicated with the staffs about wording. I continue, the process is not solid- my brother produces California ID(didn't verified his), and your server advised us why she truly checked my nephew, because she thought it was FAKE. Courtney now addresses the server(blind-sided), you didn't share this, all out of state must be checked. I commented, as I said, you all are not on the same page, clearly, she didn't share the facts with you. Courtney asks for my brother ID- I interjected. We will not be showing any more IDs in this facility, is the MP on site? Courtney advises, yes, he's in the back. Please bring him to the table. Honestly, I thought the situation would have shifted to the positive. The MP Greg made it worst. Greg has no customer service skills, and clearly doesn't know the meaning of LongHorn "Loyalty Rules". R- Recognize Guests U-Unexpected Personal Touches L-Legendary SteaksE-Enthusiastic Hello and Goodbye E-Execution S-Superb Recovery. Greg said the only thing she did wrong was take the ID from the table, he apologized for that. Greg continues to ask, are we eating? I said Greg apparently you wasn't informed of all the facts either, but I will not repeat it again, the next time I share this experience will be with Longhorn corporate and a necessary attorney if needs be. I am embarrassed and I spend a lot of money here, you didn't even offer compensation for food or anything. Greg responded, "no I am not covering food". I told my nephew and brother get up and let's go. Greg then asks, wait, how could I have handled this without you all leaving. I responded, your executive leadership team will tell you how you should have handle this after I reach out. Please excuse us, so we can exit. read more

Came to this Longhorn at 4 pm to beat the crowd. Waited 15 minutes before the host if we were on the list. We said no. The dining room was empty and we had watched all if the servers come in the front door. He told us and two other couples we would have to wait 20-25 minutes. I asked why the wait if the dining room is empty. He repeated 20-25 minutes. Two other couples walked out the door with us. Poor management and won't be back. Applebees closed for this very reason. Your poor shift change procedures cost you 6 customers who probably will not be back. read more

My husband and I went in today. I called before we got there the person answered the phone and said "there's a wait til 4" then hangs up. I don't understand what that means since it's 2 minutes away. We arrived at 4:15pm. I was not greeted. Then some other people came in and were greeted promptly. The restaurant had a lot of empty tables but I was asked for my phone number. The family in front of us was paged then another group came in was not only greeted but also asked if they wanted a booth or table because one person with the party had a walker. Finally paged to be seated by the restrooms. I asked the hostess why we wasn't given the choice for booth or table as I'm walking with a cane. Also, why was that party seated before those that were still waiting. She had nothing to say and walked away. This made me feel that my business wasn't wanted. I asked my husband to leave. I called back in the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager. The person asked what was this in relation to I stated customer service. I was put on hold then minutes later someone hung the phone up. I meet my friends here a lot for lunch. We have never been treated this way. All someone had to do was come to the phone. There should be more training on customer service. I'm giving it one star only because the morning crew is better. read more

But NOOOOO, the wife's family insisted that we all meet up at LongHorn for dinner. Since we were going to stay in West Point, I really had no other choice. I think the entire city of LaGrange decided that LongHorn Steakhouse was the place to be! The place wasn't really that big compared to others I've been to, so to make a reservation for 20 people was s9me bull and a half. But after about 30 minutes of waiting, the sat us all...comfortably! We had 2 waitresses taking the orders. At this point, I am exhausted and mad that I was about to wait at least an hour to eat. I was very wrong! My four ordered some nachos (appetizer), baked potato soup, a baked, and 2 orders of chicken fingers (main course that we asked to bring out with the other orders). I don't remember what everyone else ordered. All I know is we were all eating within 20 minutes! And the place was packed! Mad props there! EVERYTHING WAS GOOD! No complaints from anybody. The waitresses we awesome, the bottomless drinks kept coming, and the southern hospitality was on point! I almost forgot how tired I was. When traveling we generally stay away from chain restaurants. That practice failed us last night, so we wanted a reset on our steak dinner. Longhorn was our only viable option, and it was a great choice. We ordered the 6 oz filets, medium rare...cooked to perfection. We both had salads, excellent. Service was prompt and friendly. Sometimes I crave a steak but don't want to eat in and definitely don't want to cook. I love Longhorn for these times. There aren't many steak houses in this town so Longhorn is the obvious choice. I love that I can get my food to go and the quality and portions are exactly how it would be if I ate in. Their fresh veggies, bread, strawberry salad, and spicy shrimp appetizer are must gets! Everything else is good too, but these menu items are my favorites! Longhorn packages everything so well and individual and ordering online is a snap!
