Best pizza since the beginning years ago...friends from New York say it's as good as any they get there....

Ive eaten pizza from a lot of places Longhitanos is my absolute favorite. Their Crust is amazingly delicious the sauce is mouthwatering and the cheese is perfection. The toppings are always fresh and in perfect proportions. I order from this restaurant all the time and have never been disappointed. The owner seriously needs to put this pizza up against the best in Philadelphia I guarantee it would be ranked very high! read more

The first bite of my pizza took me back to my childhood when I frequently dined here , it was amazing! I grew up near this place and it was my parent's favorite fifty years ago! I have been driving by wondering if it was as good as I remember literally 50 years ago! I knew good food at a young age , my grandfather owned a restaurant in center city and we dined at the best restaurants every weekend. I was talking to someone recently and he told me Longhitanos is his number 1 ... it's now my number 1 ! This pizza is amazing and anyone that states a different opinion knows nothing about pizza. It had a super thin crispy crust , the cheese is unique and they say it is blended with cheddar... it is delicious and I would not get able the guess cheddar is the magic cheese. It's obviously a delicious creamy, mild cheddar and not the orange stuff you automatically think of when you hear " cheddar ". The sauce is also perfect and I live the Trenton style with the sauce on top , it works perfectly. It's definitely not a romantic place, it's a pizza shop but I can't wait to try some other options! It's now my favorite pizza and I am mad I haven't been enjoying it for decades! read more

We just left. Myself, my husband, and 3 kids sat for dinner. Two pies came out fast. Alyssa was the only waitress waiting on 9 tables. She was awesome and very much on top of all of her customers. I started eating pizza at Longhitano's in 196,5, the ​first location and followed them to the second location. Filling the place after swim meets and for All You Can Eat pizza as a teen. {I've eaten a lot of their piza}. Having lived out of state most of my adult life and being a HUGE pizza junk,y I wanted to go back while in town visiting my brother and sister. My brother​ and sister-in-law arrived a little before my sister and I and already had drinks and menus. The young server greeted us and got up drinks. My sister ordered a Dinner Salad ($4.25) and a Cheesesteak​ ($6.75) with fried onions (.75), the salad was a ​good size with some red onions, ​tomato​e, ​ and olives. Her cheesesteak​ had plenty of meat, well-cooked​ onion, ​ and the roll was exactly the way it should be. My sister-in-law went with a Small 9" Cheese Pizza ($7.20), and my brother and I shared a Lage 16" Cheese Pizza ($11.50). The pizza was perfection, the dough had some bite to it, the bottom was nicely browned and crisp all the way to the center, the edge was perfectly blistered. The tomato sauce swirl was well balanced​ and not too sweet, and there was a lot of cheese without being greasy. They have a pizza special two large cheese pizzas for 12.75 on Mon thru Wed. Pretty sweet deal. The pizza came out bubbling, hot and fresh and was delicious. The pizza wasn't soggy and didn't fold when you lift it up! It was very crunchy and had bubbles on the crust- just the way I like it! Small little spot, so call ahead if you have a large party! The staff was very friendly, and the service was speedy! Also, try the cheesesteaks, they are packed with meat and have a lot of flavors. The parking lot isn't very big either, so try to come at a decent hour, or you'll have to find street parking on the block over! I have been here a few times with family and will be coming back due to the service and the food. read more

I am so disappointed in this business. My mother has been a loyal customer for many years even purchasing from the original site on second street pike. She was delivered a burnt pizza the other day and when it was returned the pizza boy gave my sister such a hard time stating that my mother complains all the time and he has 30,000 customers and doesn't want my mother's business any longer. My mother stated she had complained in the past because she ordered a plain pie and received a white pizza. Who wouldn't complain about either of these situations. I loved their pizza but will be happier with Angelos, Schianos, and Roman delight. We recently moved to the area and have ordered from here about 5 or 6 times. The pizza is pretty good. However, we had a few minor issues that we dealt with. Had one bad deliver driver (the rest were great) who tried giving me some else's food. Eventually gave us the right food , but acted as if it wasn't ours. (Very weird experience). Final straw was when we ordered pepper and onion pizza, but got pepperoni. When we called to sort it out , the manager acted as if It was my fault. When I told him We've been ordering from here for a while , he cut me off and said "only 5 times in the last few months" with a sarcastic tone. I've worked in a few pizza places and have family friends who own their own places. I tried not being annoying, but was a little shocked at how I was treated. There's just something a little off about this place. Which is a shame , because we do like the pizza. Maybe these were isolated incidents, but we'll be trying a new place next time. read more

Managment is abhorrent I've probably bought about 100 pizzas from this place since 2011. Their pizza is in my opinion the best in the area. Sadly I moved from the area and by accident called and ordered a pizza but had intended to call my local place...true mistake When I realized my mistake I called back apologized and offered to pay for the pizza I could not pick up. The cashier and then the manager both copped a serious attitude, told me not to call ever again...saying "this is how they deal with this kind of thing" Strange treating a long time customer and person offering to give them money for a pizza they won't consume in such a ridiculous manner. Everytime i order from here i ask for the cheesesteaks to be extra well done and every time the cheesesteaks are soggy. I let it go a few times, i called in today to let them know and the guy tells me that it's soggy because its been wrapped. Any other place i have gotten a cheesesteak from has never had this use but longhitanos. Not only was he a huge asshole about it but he told me not to call there again, they did refund my money so that's a plus. read more

Pizza was about average compared to the local competition. What made it a good value was the price. You can order a large combo special with 5 toppings of your choice for $21.50. They do not skimp on the toppings so you get your monies worth. Also tried their pizza steak for $7.25 which was decent. Wish it had more meat in it but no grizzle and about average at this price. They really need to remodel, very run down appearance. Ceiling tiles are stained with water damage, tables and floor are old looking dirty. Makes me suspicious what the kitchen / grill look like. read more

Been going here for years, Longhitano's could use a renovation and some new management. The service here is pretty interesting. On one hand, when you sit down at your table, I've actually been treated pretty well. Our waiter usually is pretty prompt with bringing out the food, and good about refilling my water. On the other hand, every time I walk in, the manger always seems miserable a group has just walked in the door, almost like they don't want the business. On one occasion, Longhitano's was pretty full, and I showed up with about a group of 15 of us. The only thing open was a table that could fit about 10. Instead of encouraging us to wait, and trying the squeeze in seats, the lady manager basically pushed us to go somewhere else, not wanting our money. Turning customers away is just not a good business practice. They like to close very early, so don't expect to go late, you will be turned away. All of that just goes into the atmosphere and decor of the place. For a while, their wasn't even a sign indicating that Longhitano's was even there, and even now it is very small. The parking lot is very dinky, but if it is full, you can park around the side. The interior is tiny, and nothing special, just tables and chairs. The food is just simply okay. I haven't eaten anything except for pizza here in many years. The pizza is pretty good, but doesn't have me running back. What brings this place down is a combination of the management in desperate need of a hospitality class, and an environment that probably hasn't been updated in years. Factor in that the food is just on par, and you have a recipe for a sub-par restaurant. I only come here if my group wants to go there for pizza, other than that, this place doesn't even appear on my radar of places to eat at. read more

Our most recent pizza order from Longhitano's was a colossal disappointment. The pie was terribly soggy and nearly impossible to eat. Don't know if some newbie was manning the pizza oven that night but we ended up discarding a good percentage of the pie (which never happens in our house). Nobody wants flaccid pizza. I have lived a couple houses from Longhitano's for 8 years now and I don't order from there anymore for a couple reasons. 1. The pizza is really hit or miss. It'll be the best pie around one night then the next it'll be awful. That's speaks to their quality and consistency which is one of the reason great places stay in business for decades. 2. They're are the most rudest people on the phone when ordering. They never say hello or thank you or goodbye. I told them about this once which was very awkward and the response I got was just as rude as their phone etiquette. After this experience I stopped buying their pizza for about a year. I started again thinking that maybe things have changed and new personnel are answering the phone. I was wrong. I continued to use them a couple more times and began being over polite to see if they'd catch on. I was wrong again. Then I began say You're welcome before I hung up and the girl that answered the phone laughed and said Thank You. I cancelled my order and haven't called since. Next time you order for pick up or delivery take notice of their manners and tell me I'm lying. read more

I'm visiting my 96 yr old mother and she wants to have LONGHITANO'S pizza delivered...I order it, pay for it on line and arrange a delivery. she meets the delivery guy before I get to the door and tells me that she just paid in full for the delivery??? I call to speak with the manager and straighten out the misunderstanding ... I approached it as a misunderstanding / "I could be wrong , but" ... this owner proceeded to engage in the worst possible "customer service" manner .... maybe the worst that I have ever experienced or heard of from someone else. I got it resolved but not without an eye opening exchange. I seldom write a Yelp review and if I do ...it's glowing. When I lived back east in suburban Philadelphia, this was by far the most flavorful pizza I ever found. Left Philly in 1976. Decades later when I go back to Willow Grove I ALWAYS make the trek to South Hampton for one of their pizzas. Everyone I've ever taken there loves the pizza. They told me the secret once, but I won't repeat it here. Simply outstanding. I'm coming back from Vegas in April 2015 and will visit again.....its MANDATORY, it even outranks a trip to the famous Pats Philly Cheesesteak stand in downtown Philly. When working for Office of Disaster Assistance on Hurricane Katrina claims, I spoke to one New Orleans resident who ended up a couple of miles away in Cornwell Heights. I told him at least one good thing to come of his misfortune was that he ended up moving to the closest thing to Pizza Heaven ever. Turns out he was a pizza freak too.
