The 2 stars are for the selection of products not commonly found in department stores. The shopping experience is abysymal. There is an alpha sales person there who simply will not leave you alone to look in peace, even if you are dealing with another sales associate. She is pushy and tries to sell you things you don't want even when you come in looking for a specific item. And she follows you around as if she thinks you're going to grab something and walk out of the store with it. They tell you you can't pay without giving them all of your personal contact information, and you literally have to say that you'll just leave and order the item online if they don't let you tap your card. Love Longchamp and I finally got to visit the boutique in DC during the Longchamp x Andre' Saraiva collaboration. Longchamp has great quality pieces for both men and women for a reasonable price while giving a lux feel. The client associate was lovely, inviting and helpful in showing different pieces available. The customer service was excellent and the fact there was a nice variety of the Andre' collection was a plus. I was able to pick up small leather good - phone / wallet pouch and a shirt from Andre's collection. The packaging and gift was a delight. I plan to go back and visit frequently. Walked in to buy a wallet. Staff was helpful, pulled out a few options. Within 2.5minutes of entering I had made my selection. A nondescript $300 wallet, simple. "Excellent, I'd like to buy this one". The women kept trying to get me to buy other things. "No thanks, I'm really just looking for a wallet today. Glad I found this one! Could I buy it please?" She continued to stall, and bring out more things. It felt exactly like shopping in a developing country with pushy street salesmen. I was so surprised, but finally I gave her my card when I explained I had dinner plans. She then wants me fill out the customer info. I'm in town for a brief business trip, so give her my email. She keeps pressing for more info. I really thought I was being pranked. We're at over 30minutes now and I'm going to be late to my dinner reservations. Then She goes to get the wrapping/box and her colleague is in the bathroom where they store them another uncomfortable 15min+ goes by, waiting for the colleague to finish in the bathroom. While i was observing the beautiful bags the 3 employees where having a discussion 2 of them in farsi language , and the young woman raise her voice. they did not acknowledge that the customers inside the store where listening the whole drama. The woman that waited on me was very nice and I came out with a beautiful new bag and adorable twilly on it. Lovely. But the other sales associates were incredibly pushy AND talked slow, other shoppers were giving me looks like "help me", some even said "good luck" as they left. The sales associates should understand when and when not to interrupt private conversations. They just wouldn't leave. I was having a fun day with my friend and they kept interrupting our conversations, when I was CLEARLY intending to purchase and didn't need any more pushing. Again, my lady was nice, but the others were so pushy to others and didn't let them just be or browse. Zero body language awareness. They would keep pulling options, but soooo slowly and dragged out, that people felt trapped and dying to get out. People turned their backs to sales people, and the sales people would talk to them from behind still! Lovely products but sales people need to speed it up and also leave people alone. read more

This store was so disorganized. I came in casually looking for a wedding clutch, found a purse, was ready to drop nearly $300 on it (it was on sale), and then the employee said she couldn't find it at the sale price in the system. She and another employee then explained that they'd just had a sale, it had ended, and that some of the items were mislabeled. Rather than honoring the sale price right then and there, they got my name and number and said they'd call me back to let me know. Welp, it's been 4 days and I haven't heard anything. Hmmm I'm by no means a bag expert. I went in looking for a particular color not so much bag type but eventually I picked that too...I was greeted upon entering within a 5 minute window, its Christmas time so as you can imagine there are bags everywhere lol. My entire experience was less then 30 min. Not sure if they offer beverages like other fancy purse stores lol but they did one heck of a job gift wrapping my purchase and providing me a gift receipt just in case there was a need to return. It was indeed close to closing time and to receive any form of good customer service 30 min before closing time shows dedication to me. I brought my Longchamp bag here to be sent out for repair. The sales staff were very rude to me about it and were arguing with me about previous information I had received from a different Longchamp store (where they were MUCH nicer). When I went to pick up my repaired bag, again, I felt as though the staff were very rude. Especially the (I believe) store manager who has an accent. I'm a longtime Longchamp customer... have had purses brought in for repair (FYI they will repair the holes in the corners of the Le Pliage bags for free if you bring in the bag and the holes aren't too big), which was a seamless process (ba dum tss) and also made purchases here...they are indeed slightly pushy but I guess that's something you might expect at a high-end store. I have been to this store a number of times. I love the Longchamp brand - it's about effortless luxury. They make very durable and well made products, and the bags are unusually lightweight. They are very sophisticated in how they use technology to create bags (including leather bags) that are super stylish and practical at the same time for every day use - if there was a "workhorse" segment for luxury bags, this would be at the top. You don't have to baby your Longchamp bags, unlike those from other French luxury brands. They also keep their prices reasonable - it's definitely not cheap, but its nowhere near the outrageous crazy prices you would pay for an LV or Celine bag (i.e. those often charge 3 to 4 times the Longchamp prices, just to create more of a sense of exclusivity - the quality usually isn't better). I like to go in during the sales - best time to buy! That aside, the goal for me to go to this store is to peruse and check out their latest designs in leather products - you can buy the Longchamp nylon Pilage bags just about everywhere, but most places do not carry the leather bags. If you just want a nylon Pilage bag, which is also super durable and practical (esp for travel), you might as well go to a department store, where you can peruse the endless color choices forever without anyone bothering you - I bought my first Pilage bag years ago at a Nordstrom. This store carries the Pilage bags, but also the higher end leather bags, which are great for day to day use - they want to serve customers who use, or want to migrate from, nylon bags to the higher end leather products. After all, the goal of having a storefront in such an expensive location next to Hermes or LV, is not to just sell more nylon bags:) I find that my Longchamp leather bags get used constantly, whereas those from other French luxury brands tend to sit in the closet (because they are so heavy/ not as practical). I do agree with some of the reviews that the French lady managing the store can come across a bit pushy - the previous manager who set up the DC store, an African American gentleman whose name I have forgotten, was extremely knowledgeable about every product and had a far more laid back approach, which I preferred - so one star off for that. However, she is very elegant and knows the products, so you can think of her as an enthusiastic great resource to help you find what you are looking for. read more

Honestly, if you can get it shipped to you. Do it! I ordered my bag online for pick up. It said it would be ready in 3 hours. 4 days later it was finally ready. Went to pick it up and the sales lady was only concerned about whether or not I was with the other couple who walked in behind me. (I was not). Told her I needed to pick up my online purchase and she immediately went for the smallest bag to hand me (assuming I couldn't afford something larger) and then questioned me when I gave her my name. When she did find my bag. She asked me my name, order number, billing address. I would have happily handed over my ID but she was too busy questioning me. I then asked a question about another bag in the store and she looked me up and down before answering. Mind you, I did not walk in from the gym. I came from work, I was very put together. And I was treated as if I was trying to steal my bag I had already purchased. read more

If you're looking for Longchamp this is really the place to be (I mean obviously). They've got a section of the back wall for Le Pliages and a bunch of other leather goods if nylon isn't your thing. Lots of small accessories and special variants too. There's usually 2 or 3 salespeople milling about the small store and they are pretty nice, though sometimes it might be tough to understand what they're saying (gotta cater to the international visitors of the area I guess). Great little store! I came in for a very expressed purpose and a very particular wallet that was only on Longchamp's site and not at my beloved Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's. The saleswoman was very helpful and the transaction was smooth. Will definitely go back for more goodies! An issue of note, full refunds can only be given within 14 days of purchase; store credit is issued after that period. I received horrid service from a rude employee. I went to this location to have my bag repaired. That part was easy and stress free. Four weeks later I get a call to pick up my bag. The sales woman was friendly at first but then she told me that the repair couldn't be completed, rendering the bag unusable. She explained store policy about the repair which I understand but I wanted to talk to someone else about it. When I asked for the contact information to discuss this at first she said, "they won't change anything." That's not what I asked. I just want the contact information. She finally gave it to me but shrugged her shoulders and said the bag wasn't new so oh well. I'm glad the store and brand don't stand by their products but I didn't appreciate her tone and attitude during my transaction so I emailed about it. She calls me the next day and still doesn't identify herself. She launches into a a rant about the service she provided. She then double down and said she didn't provide horrid service. I don't need her to agree with me but you can't debate my opinion. She then asked if I had ever made a purchase at the store before because auto correct misspelled the name of the store in my email. How rude. I wonder if I was white if I would have been asked such a question. I have made numerous purchases at other locations and Nordstrom and have always received exemplary service. The City Center location employees are in dire need of training. The problem is they don't think their attitude is a problem. I will never make a purchase at this location again and I hope the employee who refuses to identify herself gets the training she desperately needs or finds another line of work in the back of a store where she doesn't have to have face to face communication with customers. read more

I am very torn about this store. It's wonderful that we finally have a Longchamp store in the DC metro area that carries a more extensive selection than the area department stores. However, the manager of the store is extremely pushy and does not treat customers with respect. I had bought a purse for my girlfriend at the store, changed my mind, and then wanted to return the purse for credit within the 14 day return window. Needless to say, I had to argue with the store manager for over 30 minutes to get the refund - not because anything was at all wrong with the bag but because she simply did not want to uphold the store's return policy. Beware since it is a lovely store if you are buying something but you will have a terrible experience if you want to return or bring anything to the manager's attention. read more
