I am writing for the Bloomingdale's Longchamps location that apparently doesn't have a Yelp location (but it should after this review). It was later in the day ~6:30pm. I was circling around David Yurman at Bloomingdale's for about 10 laps, trying to have one of the older jewelers notice me but to no avail. Kweena (please excuse my misspelling) greeted me because she noticed I was pacing around and kindly offered me a water. She made me feel visible after waiting to be noticed for the past ~30 mins after a long day of work. She deserves a raise or a new purse! read more

Leila warmly welcomed my daughter and I on our first visit to the flagship location which was buzzing with good energy. Leila mentioned she's soon celebrating a year with the company and made our visit feel celebrated and memorable. The selection was more diverse than I anticipated and was a good balance of RTW, footwear, accessories and bags. I really appreciated that the Icons were housed in the lower level and that Leila shared customization options and sizing to make our selection unique. We each chose a bag, personalization and payment was effortless and quick. We were on our way in less than 30 minutes from entrance to exit (even though we could have stayed longer) and look forward to our next visit. This place was scary. I am a bit traumatized but its OK, I am still alive. I had to come here the other day to purchase a birthday gift for the Mamadukes. Love knows no price right? This is totally not my scene and I was muttering that the whole time I was in the store. I am surprised the sales staff did not give me the evil eye and kick me out. Actually, the sales lady that helped me was super nice. She was very helpful and got me in and out of the store within 15 minutes. Thank you nice lady! I am a Long champ customer and bought 2 bags at Harrods in London. The two bags have holes at exactly the same place (bottom corners) On a trip to Chicago I visited the Long champ store at the Chicago Outlets and a very nice lady saw my bag and told me that Long champ is offering free fix/sawing to all Long champ damaged bags. I went to the Midtown store to drop my bags to get them fixed and this lady told me that the holes are to big to be fixed. I haven't use the bag since the trip to Chicago. I am so disappointed about this product and thought that this was a higher quality product and I was looking forward to get them fix and i wanted to use them for the longest. Thank you read more

Longchamp is my favorite women's handbag designer and the Madison Ave. store is my favorite location. I have visited several Longchamp stores worldwide, including their flagship in Paris. Nonetheless, my "home" store here in NYC is #1! Their store manager, Emmanuel is very personable, experienced, knowledgeable, and professional. This translates into his entire staff - all team members are highly skilled and top notch. Always courteous, efficient, and very attentive to customers. I will return again soon! Le Pliage totes are chic, practical, durable, and timeless. Available in a wide range of classic colors and also seasonal as well as limited edition options. In particular, their Le Pliage "Neo" line large tote is my "go to" bag - use it daily for work. Also leisure and travel - perfect carry on size. Love this monochrome, minimalist silhouette. If you are going to buy something from Longchamp, make your purchase at the store in Soho...for several reasons... first, the sales people at the Madison location are pretentious. I walked into the store...walked by three sales people before I got to the back of the store, and someone said hello to me. Customer service 101, greet your customers?!?...and, to top it off, I was the only customer in the store! I was asked if I needed help from two different sales associates at the Soho location, while they were also helping other customers. second, the Soho store is architecturally noted...check it out in Architectural Record, and if you visit, pay attention to the details. very nice! third, the Soho store is next door to a really good chocolate store! so you can treat yourself multiple times in one day....who wouldn't?! read more

So after purchasing my bag from the SoHo store, I decided to swing by this store to check out the color that the SoHo store was out of. I was immediately greeted by Daniel and after several minutes of alone time, he approached me to see if I had any questions. Again, I needed assistance with the top bags and he gladly brought down a blue one and a red one. He opened both and gave me time to choose between the two colors, even guarding my purse and other purchases. After finally deciding, he told me how to take care of my bag (which the person at the SoHo store never did and he even told me about their semi-lifetime guarantee). I wish I had gone here first and purchased the bag from him so that he would have received the commission. Daniel was super friendly, patient, understanding and builds a rapport with his customers. Now if only the other employees at this location could be like Daniel! It is a smaller store and not as architectural pretty, but it has the goods and will serve whatever your purchase may be. read more

I'm writing this review to share how displease I'am to this Long Champ Madison Location. I bought my Mom a tote from Long Champ boutique because I know she likes this brand. After once or twice that she wore the merchandise, she notice that the corners are tearing apart. Furthermore you except a quality tote bag especially when you buy it in high end store, so my mom is displease that she had asked me to return or replace the bag. After explaining to the salesperson the situation, she gave the whole lecture about their policy. Nevertheless I told her that this is the first time my mom had experienced a bag that falls apart after only using a few times. I told them that I do had a customer service experienced and knew how to be treated as a customer. After a few run around conversation, I asked to speak to the manager. She said that the manager is in the meeting so it will take a few minutes. After 40 minutes of waiting another associate came up to me and tell me the same thing that her coworker already told me w/out acknowledging you she is. I let her speak then after, I ask if she's the manager, only then she acknowledge her position "second on command". I had seen her already for the 40minutes that I was sitting, not once she approach me and introduce herself. It felt intimidating how she informed me about their store policy and that my only option is to get it repair (which by the way will take 8 weeks). Most of us work so hard to buy what we like and enjoy whatever our fancy not experience such hassle. In conclusion the whole experience exasperate me, especially after coming from work. I would not recommend this branch because of how they handled my situation. As well as the associates for not being helpful. I wasn't expecting that kind of customer service from a high end store! read more

I really wanted the standard black Longchamp "sac" with the brown handle so I ventured in here on a Sunday afternoon for it. First of all, the store is undergoing renovations so they are in a temporary location down the street. Sorry I can't remember specifically because I am new to NYC but I think the store is supposed to be at Madison and 63rd but right now it is at Madison and 60th. I went in with the intention of buying a bag which I guess the salesladies could tell because they were super nice and helpful. Traveling NY, I was very determined to purchase a hand-bag to bring back home to CA. Walking the streets in various neighborhoods every women of every age bracket owned a, Le Pliage. Safe to say, I got swayed into owning one. I visited the store to check out the selection a gentlemen named, Bradly, helped me out. I didn't buy that day being it was almost closing time for them and I had a dinner engagement where I did not want to tote around a shopping bag. After all my countless bag inquires I told Bradly I'd be back the next day. Which I'm sure they get all the time and I'm sure he assumed I would not be back. Went back to the store only for the salesman to remember me and gladly made my transaction of a few bags. He gave me his tips on cleaning and informed me of the few locations on the West Coast, one being in SF, yay! This is the best part; nestled back in CA, I received a thank-you letter, hand written from Mr. Bradly thanking me for my purchase. I could not have had a more pleasant experience. I went in (great AC) to buy a bag for my soon to be wife, for her birthday. Not cheap, but nice stuff (mostly probably paying for the name). Emily, the lady who helped me was very nice. She explained with pride the history of the company (I got the feeling they treat their employees well). I've never worked with an SA before, but after the service I got today, I definitely want to! Many thanks to Sou for being so attentive, unfailingly polite, and helpful. The service I got from Sou is what I'd expect from much more expensive brands like Chanel or Hermes and it makes me want to return to her always, even though I live far from Madison Ave. I'm the kind of Yelper who only posts when I HATE something or LOVE something, and I LOVED my time today at this shop...I got to try on whatever I wanted and no one minded. Hello, I am writing to you regarding a terrible and offensive experience I had at your Madison Avenue location in New York. I went today in the store to inquire about a repair on my bag. I have holes on the corner and I understand your policy in repairing. I went into the location and asked to speak to an associate and that's when Gale came over. Before I can even speak to her, she scrunched her face in disgust because I took out the purse from my backpack. She look at it and said "sorry we cant fix this. the wholes are too big, clearly you didnt take care of your belongings." I stood there appalled because I have been a customer for many years and never once have i been offended before like this. I explained to her that when I spoke to a rep on the phone i was told i can take it in for repair and that her information seems to be contradictory. and thats when she walked away from me mid-sentence. I told Gale that I am pretty sure it is how I look (early 30s hispanic woman) that i was being judged on the condition of the bag and that if i looked differently, i would be treated in a different caliber of service. That I am a hard working woman and that I take care of my belongings; I was simply following up on a fix that the company (Longchamp) has been transparent that it is something that they fix; doesnt mean I do not take care of my belongings. Longchamp, you cannot continue to do business and not ensure your employees are respectful and open minded. It doesnt matter what my socioeconomic status is, employees like Gale need to understand that i am a paying customer and need to be treated like so. I stepped in with my sister and I had already planned on getting a bag and as I was picking out my bag my sister asked the sales lady very politely if she had a certain color that she had seen. This b#%€ said well this is the spring collection so if you don't see it I guess not, in the most nasty way. we walked out and was like no way are we shopping in a place like this ever. I have never seen such rude salespeople in whole NYC before. I purchased a quite expensive bag ($800) in this store a couple months ago. They didn't give me a dust bag, witch usually comes with the bag. I went some weeks later to get the dust bag. However they told me to come another time because they had sale and they were not aloud to give those away ??? I just happened to be in the neighborhood and I asked the lady ( a black lady who told me her name was diane) who was hanging out outside the store to give me one. She was very rude and she told me she gave me one already?! and that she had a meeting and the store was closed already. After I confronted that she never gave me one, she said come back tomorrow. I went already 3 times for something that was supposed to be given right away by purchase. I will never shop there again. Rude! Shameless! zero customer service! read more

I wandered around the first floor, not seeing any Le Pliage totes, and certainly not the black on black Planètes that I wanted. Junior intercepted me and led me upstairs, where a veritable rainbow of bags was waiting. I already knew what I wanted and that I was going to pull the trigger that day (with a big interview looming later in the week), but he still assured me of my choice's excellent qualities; thicker coated canvas than my beat-up blue Le Pliage, large but not too large, long-enough straps. We swapped bag war stories and he brought me downstairs again to finish up. I couldn't be sold on an additional silk scarf to tie around my bag's handles, but maybe next time. Well, since these things are apparently half the price in France, there may not be a next time, but my experience here was certainly pleasant and fruitful. read more

I was here not too long ago and I saw this black leather bag that I absolutely had to have. So I walk in the store with my friend and I'm browsing around checking out the prices because I had seen some of the same merchandise elsewhere for a whole lot cheaper. That's besides the point. The sales lady approaches me minutes later saying that if I wasn't seriously going to buy something I might try looking elsewhere. I politely left the store never to return. I did however get my bag elsewhere a day later for a better price. They do have a decent selection of merchandise and I'm not knocking that, but it was the overall experience. never again! remember when julia roberts goes into an expensive store on rodeo drive and was shunned by employees? well thats the sort of experience I had here. I am in because my mustard colored Le Pliage bag strap had come undone. I use this bag day to day carrying my books back and forth, the same strap has broken before I took it to the SoHo boutique and got it repaired free of charge no problem. I had been putting off getting this repaired for months and finally rushed out of work early to make it just in time. I showed the sale lady my bag and she mad an overt face of disgust bc there was (GASP!) gum wrappers and debris in my bag and maaaybe even some stains on the outside of a yellow bag (GOD FORBID!). She told me it could not be fixed until i took the bag home to clean it with soap and water and then brought it back. I said that had nothing to do with getting my strap sewn back on, I could dump out whatever debris was inside and take it back in. She said she was going to talk to the manager and let me know. She claimed that I would need to clean it myself with soap and water because they could not send out a bag like that for repair. I said no thank you I will pay to have it fixed elsewhere. if the bag was black there wouldnt be any noticeable stain. this was ridiculous I have never been treated so poorly in a store! when you pay for an overpriced canvas bag, you at least expect good customer care. read more

I had never been inside the Lonchamp store until two days ago. My sister has used their bags for years and I was excited to go in and buy one for myself. As soon as I got there the sales woman named Dana asked if she could help me. I described the bag I was looking for and she told me I'd find it upstairs. My mother and I went up to see what they had. Dana decided to follow, in fact everywhere I went Dana decided to follow and remind me of the prices even though I had never asked her. I already knew what I wanted to buy I just wanted to decide on the color. I talked it over with my mother and then ended up choosing a bag. Dana then took my downstairs and rang me up. Since I felt like I had made a bad decision in getting the bag in another color instead of waiting for one I liked I went back today to return it. I was helped by another young lady who was very polite. It was then that Dana came over and took over the transaction. She then proceeded to give me back $80 out of $157 all in $5 bills, without any explanation. She did not make eye contact and was very forceful when she did speak to me. I was so surprised by this treatment. After this experience I will never go back there again. I cannot believe that this is how this sales associate is allowed to act. Even though I'm sure the rest of the workers are not like this, I do not ever want to be made to feel this way again. Was dismayed at the dismal reviews of this Longchamp location. I have been a customer for many, many years. After I retired, and moved away, I still called to order bags as gifts for my family. Never, ever, had a bad experience. Spoke to Emily today who helped me buy a Christmas gift for my daughter-in-law. She could not have been more helpful, professional, and lovely. Had my gift sent and gift-wrapped in one conversation. Emily told me she has been there for 12 years. Bad employees aren't kept for 12 years only exceptional ones are a constant. I love the Le Pliage bags made by Longchamp; I have six of them. But today when I took my black one, whose zipper was separating, to the Upper East Side store, I was unpleasantly surprised to discover that a zipper replacement would cost $30. If the zipper could be fixed without a total replacement, it would be free of charge. I really had no choice, as a shoemaker would probably charge as much, but I think that a brand at this level should stand behind its products 100 percent. The senior saleswoman (who was what the French call, using the English expression, "un peu snob") explained haughtily that they DID stand behind their products but not for "ordinary wear and tear." Well, my bag is neither old nor worn, and I don't consider a zipper that breaks down after a couple of years "ordinary wear and tear." Furthermore, I'd think that for the sake of good customer relations, they would extend us the courtesy of repairing ordinary flaws like this without charge. I want to be fair: These bags are generally sturdy, practical, and good-looking. I wouldn't have purchased them repeatedly otherwise. But be warned that Longchamps does not really guarantee its products. read more

I purchased a Le Pilage bag on the recommendation of a friend. I use it often especially when i travel. It holds a lot and can be folded into a suitcase or another handbag even. i created my own on the longchamp website, with the main color graphite and the stripe black. when it came in the mail, it was all navy so clearly something had gone wrong. So, I contacted Longchamp and they apologized and I sent it back. A couple days later I get a call and they tell me that there is nothing wrong with my bag and that it is exactly how i ordered it. wrong. I could honestly not believe this was happening. I was not the only one who saw the navy bag, none of us are color blind, so clearly we can tell the difference between graphite and black and navy. The helpful saleslady was the complete opposite of helpful. She tried to tell me I had not looked correctly, and that it was the resolution of my computer. Myself and several other people all looked at the image of they grey and black bag on the longchamp site on a mac, HP, and Dell. Not one of them was close to being navy. Then she tried to tell me that the graphite was a tent of blue, so that's why I thought it was navy. She then informed me that they would not reimburse me because it was custom. It is ridiculous. I paid over $200 dollars for this purse and then this happens. I will never ever purchase anything from Longchamp again. read more
